Speaker 2:

Hello. Welcome to the Allie D show. I'm Allie D. Well, TikTok is back for now. That was a very short lived ban. I think it was under 24 hours, but we learned a fricking lot about this TikTok ban situation. And I want to talk to you about one of the most important takeaways that you have as a business owner when it comes to making sure you are setting your business up for long term success. Here's the scoopity scoop. So many people rely on one platform to generate sales for themselves. And this was so glaringly apparent when they were announcing that there was a possible Tik Tok ban going on and the Tik Tok world went wild, especially the business owners. Rightfully so, because a lot of them have created massive. massive businesses just using TikTok, massive ones. I mean, we're talking, you know, six figure months, days, incredibly successful businesses. Thank goodness from the TikTok platform. But what we also learned was that if TikTok was going to go away, these businesses were going to lose their entire sales strategy. Because all it was. This has been something that I've been harping on since day one is we cannot as business owners put all of our eggs in one basket when it comes to creating a business that's, you're in it for the long haul. You want longterm success. You cannot put all of your eggs in one basket. And a lot of these business owners just went. So all in on tick tock and never took the, cause it was easy, right? But never took the time to actually expand their businesses and build their own customer base. Because here's the scoop. When you are selling through the tick tock platform, you do not own any of that customer data. That all belongs to tick tock the way that we can build incredible business So I'm going to talk to you today about how to get people off of these social media platforms and onto our own websites. If you're not doing this and practicing this on a daily basis, and you're relying upon Tik Tok shop or IgE shop to move product for you, what would happen if those sales channels were ripped out from underneath you and now all of a sudden you had no Tik Tok, would you be able to sustain? Would you have a massive drop in your profit and in your sales? If anything ever happened to any of these sales channels, what would happen to your business? So this was incredibly eyeopening for so many business owners that depend upon TikTok because when, and this goes for the influencers, this goes for anybody making money on the TikTok. platform. All of a sudden, it felt like a very fleeting short term business because yes, they were making a crap ton of money, but what are they going to do when that platform went away? They had nothing to monetize because they didn't build anything for themselves outside of these platforms that we don't own, right? We don't own the data. We don't own our pages. We don't, they could ban you in the blink of an eye. And I've seen this happen. You guys, I've. Seeing this happen time and time again, friends that have built incredible followings on Instagram. They wake up one day and their page is suspended gone for like a reasons. They have no idea what happened. And then good fricking luck. Trying to get someone at Facebook or Instagram to help you with that. I mean, I've known people that have paid like thousands of dollars for people to try to recover their accounts. Because that's how important these pages were to them. And I understand, you know, you spend eternity building up your pages. But the important lesson here is knowing that you have to spend the most effort getting people off of these platforms and on to your website. This is where the long term game is. This is how you create raving fans. Because if TikTok were to go away, it'd be no big deal. still on your email list, they're still buying from you. Like I had really, we have, um, like tick tocks, not a huge part of our, um, strategy right now when it comes to social media, we have in the past used it. I mean, I use it on occasion, but quite frankly, it's just not a big part of our equation right now, especially with how. Everything was kind of like up in the air, but TikTok going away did not affect my business one iota. Like it just didn't. We have thousands and thousands of customers on our email list that we reach every single week. So it's not, it was not an issue for us. I mean, it's a, I, I like TikTok. It's a fun platform. You know, I, I think it's really cool seeing how creative people are and learning about things I never would have access to. But when it comes to supporting my business, No, no, no, no, no, no. You can't put your business in the hands of somebody else. It's your business. So really think about and focus on your content is only supposed to gain awareness. from people on social media, and then we have to drive them to your website. That's the whole point of content, is to get them off these platforms, onto your website, buying from you, onto your email list, and collecting the data so you own it. Ugh, I felt so bad for all these people on TikTok, that were just Like it's so devastated because their entire businesses and I wanted to go, I've been talking about this for so long. You cannot put all of your eggs in the tick tock or Instagram or Facebook basket because they can rip it all out from you in the blink of an eye. And we actually saw it happen in real time, but thank goodness it's back for those business owners, whatever your thoughts are on tick tock. I hate to see any business suffer, especially because listen making money using tick tock shop and all the things. It's not like that's a breeze. That's. still takes a crap ton of work. I mean, when you're live on Tik Tok and you want to sell products, you got to hang out on there for hours and then you're done going live and it just goes away. Like at least on Instagram and Facebook, you can put post the live to your profile page. You can get some replays on there, but on Tik Tok, that sucker, when you're done, you're it's done. It's gone. So nobody has access to any replays. So yes, just make sure that you understand why you're using social media, that it's. solely to support the growth of your business, to get them onto your, your website, your stuff. Okay. So this is just a quick reminder. Don't fall into the trap in any shape or form. When, when any of these social media platforms become, um, you know, your sole source. It becomes a very risky business, so we got to have balance, okay? Have an amazing day, and I will talk to you manana.
