This is going to be a very specific type of business that you want to create. You want to create something big, something massive, something exciting, something invigorating. You don't really just resonate with. being another quote unquote online store. So if this sounds like you and you're like, yeah, Ali, uh, that's me. That's exactly me. Sign me up. So I wanted to let you know that before I got into today's, today's episode, which is going to be about how to get more of the right customers. ready to buy from you. Like the people that are like, here's my credit card, let's fricking go. And they buy from you time and time and time again, how to get more people like that. So I want to really unpack today the importance of knowing your target market because let's be real. Most people when they're just starting their businesses or even I've seen this with people that are years into business, not getting things to click yet or maybe they're doing like 10 K per month in sales, but you really want to get to that, like 20, 30, 50 K per month. This is going to be such an important factor in making that happen for you. So I want to break it down more here because I feel like every time I kind of explain this, it, it hits people in different ways and they have their own aha moments. And this is one that I will forever harp on and forever talk to you about on the podcast. Or if you see me in real life, like, okay, we get to talk about this. We need to talk about your target audience because it all comes down to. So you may be thinking like, yeah, Ali, I know I get it, duh, we need to niche down, but I'm still not seeing this. Like I get that the concept sounds simple, but it's not easy. It's not easy. It's not easy for a couple of reasons. Number one, our brains naturally don't want to do it because we want to reach more people. We think, okay, more customers. I need to be more appealing to more people to get more customers, right? It doesn't ever happen. More appealing to more people will get me more customers. But the truth is, is that is the total opposite, total opposite of how you actually get more customers. The way you get more customers is by appealing to more Specific less crowd, which is less people, more specific. Okay. So an example of like a very broad target market, which this is like the market that I hear all the time when people first join trendsetter or they come into my programs or maybe they DM me or leave a comment and like this is, this is what I hear the most. So I know there's a lot of you listening to this that are still falling into this trap where it's like, okay, my target market is women between the age. is of like 25 and 45. Okay. Well that's about a zillion billion people in this world. I don't even know how many people are on their planet, but you know what I'm saying? That is very, very broad, very broad though. It may be specific to you cause you're like, well, I'm not just saying like everyone I'm saying women and I'm saying, They're saying their age group and you know, that narrows it down, right? And it's like, well, not really, that's not really what it's about. In fact, it's not even so much about that, you know, the demographics as it is the psychographics, which I teach you all this inside the membership. But the quick gist of it is, it's more about a certain lifestyle of a group of people. That's really what it is. And get freaking specific. So it's not just me. Women who are the ages between 25 and 45 it's women who are in the corporate world that have nine to five jobs that are very, uh, demanding and, um, require strict, I don't know, clothing like wardrobe has to be a certain thing. Like you have to get really, really Specific on who you can connect with the most. So it can't just be extremely broad because what happens is nobody finds any value in that. there's no connection being made that actually gets. Them to want to buy from you because they're not finding any value in you because you're just like everybody else. So it's like, okay, scrolling by. But when you connect with them on a deeper level and you know who your target market is, they are going to feel so. special. And you could literally charge anything you want for your products because they're going to feel like it is extremely aligned with who they are and your stuff is exactly for them. So instead of being broad, you need to get specific to get more customers. If you don't do this in your business, you're going to forever feel like you are chasing your tail because your content's not going to hit, your messaging isn't going to hit. Nobody's going to feel like they, they want to buy from you because there's no connection. And you guys, people place value on your products when they feel connected with the message and they place high value. It's how people can sell the exact same product, but have different messaging and have totally different results. Because the more clear you are on your message, And I know this is a weird thing. I know you think, well, listen, I don't want to pigeonhole myself into this like tiny market, but that is the whole key to not only being able to charge more and always have people pay full price, but also actually create a customer base. So if you're a customer base that is going to shout from the mountaintops about your business and how obsessed they are with you and your business and tell all their friends that it was exact same lifestyle about you. But if you're just a vanilla and generic, not only will they probably not find you because your content's going to end up in the content graveyard before it even hits anyone's feeds. But once they do see your content, it's just going to be another piece of content. They're going to scroll by. You're the same way. When you are. And the person is talking about the product and they're identifying literally it's like they're in your head. They're saying all the things that you, you want from a product. And you're like, Oh my gosh, I can't believe this is exactly for me. Like, yes, like I would literally pay anything for this and it's only 29. 95. Here you freaking go. It's because the only way to create a wildly impactful business. It's by getting super specific on your target audience. It's not crazy. It's crazy, but it's the truth. Okay. So if you want your customer base to grow, I need you to really dive into this. Take some initiative. Look at really who you're targeting. Are you just. someone who's still saying I'm just targeting like an age group, you know, they graduated from college, they have a certain, you know, like, or are you really going like I'm for the woman who dot, dot, dot, she's working nine to five. She goes out on the weekends. She loves her girls nights out. She loves partying with her friends. She loves going out to the club and. Just staying out till three in the morning and then, you know, getting up on Sunday and going to brunch with her friends. And maybe she's early, early into her career. She just graduated from college a few years ago. She's still like, you know, trying to find out who she is in the world. Like you, you really got to get specific. Right. It's not just like post college girl, you know, ages of 24 to 28. It's like, no, there's so many different types of people that age group, right? Some are are career oriented. Some own businesses. Some are world. Some are being nom back to college or you kn but post grad, some are g So many different types of lifestyles that fit into a woman between the ages of 24 and 28. It's like, hello, we've got to target our people. Who can you connect with the most? So make some notes after this podcast. Start thinking about that. If you haven't figured this out, this is going to be like mucho mucho major for you to get done. It's a must. It's a must do. It's a non negotiable. You got to get it figured out.
