Speaker 8:

Welcome to the show. I'm Allie D. It is currently 10 p. m. and I just left the grocery store. I was that person that was like the last one in there and it was funny because the reason why was I actually went to the warehouse after dinner to do some work on a massive of order that we have going out to a business, the name of it is Bucky's. So some of you may be familiar with Bucky's. It is a Texas based business, but they have expanded across the country. They've got like 30 something stores. They're opening more this year and it is just an incredible fricking opportunity. And I'll tell the whole story of how this all went down on another episode. But um, we, you know, we got the night shift because this order is just thousands upon thousands upon thousands upon thousands upon thousands of products. It is so massive. So we kind of are like, we kind of have like the, the team, the regular team is working all day, late hours, long hours, I should say. And then I went in after dinner and then another printer came in to just kind of help continue to push through even in the, the late hours of the night. This is a late hours of the night. When you have kids, this is like super late. I'm like, Ooh, I'm out here. Like, you know, it used to be, you just getting ready to go to the club at 10 PM. Now I'm like, Ooh, I'm out late. So anyways, um, and that was, by the way, like 20 years ago, that was a long time ago in my life. But, um, yeah, I was that girl at the grocery store that was the last one in there just grabbing a few things. Diapers, milk, eggs for, uh, 7 for two, uh, you know, uh, 18 pack. Ugh, eggs. Why are they so expensive right now? Anywho, what I wanted to talk to you about this episode and the reason why I feel like this episode's gonna be so good for you. for you to hear is because a lot of times when I first talked to business owners or people are like DMing me or they first come into my world, one of the things I know that they struggle with the most is growing their audience. So you know, growing your customer base, growing your audience, getting more eyeballs, people, you want people to know that you exist. You're like, hello, I'm out here. I have super cute stuff. Why aren't you buying for me? And it's a lot of the times it's just people don't know you're there yet. They don't, your customers are out there. And I always tell my clients this, I'm always like, listen, your customers. out there waiting for you, but it's your responsibility to learn how to get visible on these social media platforms so they actually find you because they are going to find you. And that is the beauty of all this, which creates such a more natural and fun and loyal connection than if you were like trying to hound customers down or chase them down, which all, we all know, they're going to run for the hills, but it's a much more natural connection when they feel like they have found you. so your job is done. Um, and my job is to be able to learn how to create content to land into their feeds, to teach the algorithm who you are and who's going to like your stuff. Because remember these platforms want us to be successful. Okay. They don't want our content to die and go to the graveyard of IgE or Tik Tok or Facebook. They want our content to flourish. They love that. They love when people create amazing content that their users connect with because that just keeps them on the site, on their platform longer. Right. The end of the day, it's all about them. Dollars. Those eyeballs on their platforms mean more dollars in their pockets because there's more, uh, profit for their advertisers. So advertisers spend more money on their platforms and that's how it all works. Right? It's all about the mighty dollar. So what I want to ask you is what is as a business owner and if you have been in business or you're thinking about starting a business, I want you to think about this. What is one of the first things you need to do when you're going to create your business? Because most people have this backward, backwards. So most people actually buy products, you know, they buy or create their products and then they, um, you know, take their product photos. They do their website, all the things, the things that take, takes quite a bit of time and effort to do. Then they're like, okay, I'm ready to launch. I'm ready to sell my products. And what happens is there's no one to sell your stuff to because you've been focusing on creating the products, creating the products. I'm going to show you how to create a website without even dipping your toes in to creating your audience. And a lot of times stores will be like, or store owners or people that are interested in opening a store or business are like, okay, well I need to get my products ready. I need to get my pictures. I need to get everything, you know, the videos I need to get all this, this and that like up on the website and everything. And I'm like, okay, yeah. But then when you go live, who's going to buy your stuff? Nobody. Because you haven't built your audience yet. So, it's, it's opposite of what most people think. Most people think, you know, have the products ready, then start posting content, but it's actually opposite. You want to grow your audience, get your content going, and then when you're ready to launch, you have people already in your audience that are ready to buy. So as a business owner, I want you to ask yourself, how much time, if you're already up and running, how much time do you spend? working on growing your audience or are you 90 percent focused on your products Or do you focus your time on or any time at all on growing your audience? So for me, one of the businesses, I have a business called Western life and style that I co own with, um, an amazing girl, Nicole, Nicole Nava, James. She also owns Zona girl marketing her and I have been working together for over a decade and this business we started probably I don't know. It's probably six seven years ago at this point, which is insane. But when we started that business We didn't have one thing for sale Okay. And you're going, huh, what you're starting a business and you don't even have anything for sale. Because we understood unknowingly at the time, we kind of just were, I guess, ahead of our time thinking like, this is what we actually need to do. We need to build the audience first and then we can monetize it. But, um, which now is like kind of talked about way more often, but back then it was a novel idea that we had. And I went to her and I said, Nicole, here's the idea. I want to do this, this, and that. Um, which she was working together with me on my led side. And I said, I want us to start this, you know, community for Western women where we can gather and celebrate our Western life and culture. I feel like, and at the time there was nobody doing that. There was nothing out there available for our niche. And I felt like we just needed a community where we can celebrate what was going on and highlight everything and all these incredible businesses. And there wasn't really even influencers that at that time, you know, so we kind of like started a whole thing, but we didn't have anything for sale for months, maybe six months. We just worked on building our audience, growing our audience. And you know, quite frankly, it might've even been a year before we did any kind of monetizing of that business. But what it allowed us to do is when we did finally have something for sale, we were able to launch to an audience who already loved us and trusted us. So it was very easy for us to turn Western life and style into a business because we already had the audience. So many people put the cart before the horse where you have the products with no audience and you feel bad because you're trying to sell your products day in and day out and you're showing up but you're not focusing enough on growing your audience or you launched your business with zero audience in which case don't freak out because all this is fixable. So if you're like, Oh my gosh, this is me. I need a bigger audience. I, you know, I feel like I have amazing products or I want to start an amazing business, but I, I just don't have the audience yet. Frickin great. We can build the audience. The entire month of February inside the trendsetter membership is called famous February and it's all about having you build an audience and become famous. If you feel like this is, this is something that you're like, yes, I want to grow my audience because guys, if you've been putting the cart before the horse, meaning you've been focusing on, you know, your products, what you have for sale instead of growing your audience, you got to switch. You got to get that horse in front of the cart or the carts never going to get pulled anywhere, right? You just need to stay stuck there in the dirt. And the horse is like in the back going, uh, you got to put me in front of the cart, It's like, okay, I get it. So anyways, that's a little visual for you. If you feel like you're like on the horse behind the cart, you got to get in front of it. And getting in front of it means focusing on growing your audience. Okay. Hey, your girl is just getting ready to pull into the house. I'm going to, um, it's 10 PM. Chances are money's on that. The kids have not had a bath yet or are not ready for bed. What do you guys think? Do you think husband got that all done or am I going to walk in and have to do the baths and everything? You know how that goes. Okay. I love you. And I will talk to you soon. Oh, by the way, speaking of the insane order we're trying to get out, I may not be able to do daily podcasts for the next two weeks or so. So don't hold it against me. I am working my little booty off over here. So, um, of course I love these podcasts. It's my favorite part of the day, but, um, I may need a little grace over the next couple of weeks as we push, push, push to get this order out. And I'll tell you all the fun stuff that happens with that as well. Okay. Love you. Talk to you soon.
