Welcome And The Hourly Sales Goal
Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Ali D Show. This is gonna be a good one. Um, I don't know, I've been singing a lot in all of my, um, greeting messages to my clients, and now apparently it's passing on to the podcast. I am so excited to spend some time with you today and talk to you about something that is super juicy. Oh my gosh. Today's podcast episode is going to be all about if I wanted to start getting Shopify orders every hour, these are the most important three things I would be focusing on to make this happen. We're gonna be really, really good and detailed in this episode'cause I want you to understand how important these three things are. And most importantly, this is gonna sound a little harsh, if you don't do these three things, and especially number one, you will not make this happen for your business. And I know that sounds harsh, but in today's day and time, online selling is getting more and more and more strategic and less and less and less leaving it up to chance. So as long as you understand that strategy is the name of the game, and you are fully invested in learning how to actually grow your business, how to get Shopify orders every hour, and you really get the idea that, hey, this is not gonna happen by you just posting and praying anymore. Like, that kind of worked for, like, five years ago, but those days are over. There is way more competition, way more people online, way more people vying for attention, so the only way that you're gonna actually get attention and get people to know that you exist and get eyeballs onto your page and onto your store is by putting more strategy into place. By the way, speaking of strategy, oh my gosh, let me just take a second to say congratulations to all of the new women that are inside Trendsetter University. Um, I am so excited for this program. It is absolutely incredible. The amount of strategy and coaching and support and just group camaraderie that goes on inside Trendsetter University is literally game-changing. There is no other program on the planet for boutiques and brands that are trying to grow and scale their business. There's no other program on the planet like this. It is truly... Like, I wouldn't even say one in a million. It's just one. It's a category of one. It's the only thing out there like this, so if you're someone that you've been wanting to learn, okay, what is the strategy? Like, Ali, lay it out for me A to Z. What are the steps that I need to take to actually make this business a seven-figure business? I'm tired of guessing. I'm tired of scrolling. I'm tired of watching 100 different internet gurus tell me what, what, what the trick, I'm using my air quotes, what the trick is to grow. Like, I don't hold back. I'm very honest. I'm very transparent in all of my coaching. I say it like it is. And every single week, there are incredible trainings in this program that set you up to blow the F up. Okay? And not only that, but every week you get support with me. So I don't just drop you into a portal of trainings and bid you adieu and say,"Good luck. Hope you can figure it out on your own." And that's why this program is different. I'm in there every single week answering questions, giving support, helping direct customized advice for your business and where you're at in your business based on the questions that you have, based on where you get stuck or where you feel overwhelmed or where you feel confused. You can come inside, ask the questions, and get straight answers. And what that allows you to do is take the right actions, and this is so important for your business. So many of you are out there taking the wrong actions over and over and over and over again, and it's why things are so hard for you, and it's why you feel like you're struggling. So that's what this podcast is gonna kinda be based upon, is, okay, what are the real steps that I need to be f- focusing on to make sure I am setting myself up for success, right? So let me just tell you, there's nothing like having your phone on... I don't know what you would call it, like, on sound, right? Sound on on your phone as you're going throughout your day, and every hour you're hearing multiple cha-chings, okay? There was a time where this was not happening for me, where things were very quiet. I was trying to figure it out. I was still learning strategy and marketing and sales, and I just thought,"There's gotta be a way." Well, now I'm living proof that this can happen for you, okay? You can actually learn how to do this, how to create this kind of success for your business. And now it's the best. I'll be doing dishes, and it's like cha-ching, and then 10 minutes later, cha-ching. And I'm like,"Oh, my gosh. This is so, so, so good." So I look back, and I think about, okay, what are, what are the most important steps? We wanna get, you know, strangers out there to buy from you. We gotta have a plan, right? Like, we gotta have a freaking plan. The idea of if you build it, they will come, that just does not happen. It does not happen online. There's very, very distinct, specific things that must be in place in order for strangers to find you and buy from you every day, on repeat, every hour, okay? And the number one thing that I'm gonna talk about today, and if you don't do this one, none of the o- nothing else matters, okay? You need to be wildly specific on who you sell to. Wildly specific. Most people think that being specific or knowing your niche or marketing to a niche means you know their age and maybe where they're from. And the reason why I know that most people think that is because that's what everyone tells me when I first ask them, like,"What is your target audience?""Oh, well, they're between the ages of, like, 30 and 50, and, you know, they live, like, probably somewhere like Fort Worth." I'm like,"Oh, my goodness. Okay." That is not going to get you found by strangers. That is such basic, basic advice that people have been giving for years and years and years, which like at the root of it, like there's a... It's still beneficial. But if you wanna reach more people online, you gotta go way deeper, way more specific.'Cause what happens is that's gonna never get you seen online. Number one, it's too generic. These algorithms will have no idea who to send your content to, okay? So it's just gonna end up in the content graveyard. I'll get more into that. But when you get crazy specific, like super in tune with your ideal customer's lifestyle, okay, their values, their desires, their wants, the things that they love to do, down to like... This is really funny. I was working with a private c- private client this week, and we were creating some, and crafting some content for her to attract her ideal customer. And I was having her tell me like different things she does throughout the day, telling me about her lifestyle, because oftentimes you'll craft this around you and your lifestyle. It's obviously the most relatable thing for you, is how you are in your real life. It's very hard to craft an ideal customer that you aren't confident in yourself. Okay, it can be done. It can be done. But e- at, for most of us, we need to look at who we are as people and the things that we love. And for you, it's gonna seem very mundane, right? Things like,"Okay, well, like I love walking my dog in the park." Okay, well, let's go deeper, right? Because if you're just like,"This is for the women who love walking dogs," okay, that's not really gonna hit anything. But if you're like,"This is for the retired woman who loves her leisurely time strolling in the park, um, in the beautiful foothills of Montana while walking her Westies," okay, that is very specific, right? So it's not just like walking dogs, right? Which that's like, that's probably what you would say. Like I'm just,"Oh, I like walking my dog every day. I like working out. I like, you know, um, I don't know, eating nice meals," or whatever it is. But you gotta get specific. It's like, okay, you like walking dogs. Like what dog? Where are you? What does it look like? What does it feel like? And it's gonna be th- like even that little thing is gonna be so different for so many people, right? Same thing like working out. Okay, like my gal, she likes to work out. Okay, well, what does that mean? What, what... Like is she working out at a gym? Is she working out at home? Is she wearing like a cute workout outfit? Does she go hard at her workouts? Is she like a Pilates girl, a yogas girl? Like there's so many different nuances here in every single aspect of our lives, and the more... Listen to this. The more wildly specific you can get, the better you will connect with your right person, even a stranger, it- that they're gonna find you and like what you have for sale. Because the whole point of this- The whole freaking point is that you are trying to attract people who see your products and then think it's a no-brainer, right? So the way you present yourself in the marketplace has to be very specific to that one person you know is going to say yes. Otherwise, you are wasting your time and your effort showing up every single day being generic and not reaching anybody. So you've gotta figure out what does their lifestyle look like, okay? Get clear on that. Get specific."Uh, well, we like to go to, like, lunch on the weekend with my girlfriends." Okay, well, where are you going? Like, are you going to a rowdy sports bar? Are you going to an outdoor cafe in Paris? Like, think about it. It's not just eating a meal. It's where are you doing it? It's to paint the picture of what your ideal customer would love, right? Is it, like, slamming beers at the sports bar? Cool. That's one person, right? Is it eating croissants and coffee at, in Paris? Yeah, that's another person. Is it, like, a girls' night out on a taco Tuesday with margaritas and, you know, un- unlimited chips and queso? All of these are gonna trigger different things in different people, and the reason why it's important is because you have to get them to pay attention to you, and if you speak to specificity, you get that attention, right? Otherwise, if you're like,"Ooh, we like going out to eat on the weekends," that's part of their lifestyle, it's so, it's so g- generic and basic. Like, no one's gonna connect with that. Everybody loves to eat on the weekend. Like, everybody loves to eat every day, right? So you gotta get wildly specific, crazy specific. Again, think about all the different things you do throughout the day that right now just probably seem very normal for you, but I can guarantee it's a very specific person that you would actually connect with if you got more thoughtful about what your lifestyle truly is. Is this easy? No, it's not. This is why most people fail, especially online. They don't get this part figured out. They can't get out of their head thinking that they're cutting off people from the world to buy from them when it's totally opposite, okay? If you don't get specific, you will never get sales. So you're literally cutting yourself off from the opportunity of connecting with all these amazing people who would actually love your freaking products. But you have to understand that this is the only way to do it, right? I love doing this work with my clients. This is one of my favorite things in the world. Like I said, and with so many of my private clients this week... By the way, if you wanna work with me privately, that is an option. Just shoot me a DM on Instagram. I have a great two-week intensive right now, so two weeks of coaching with me privately, where we will, um, have a 60-minute Zoom call first, and then we'll have Telegram coaching for two weeks after. And inside the 60-minute Zoom call, I'm gonna dissect exactly what's going on in your business, where the leaks are, where the road bumps are, why you feel like you're not growing, and I'm gonna make you a plan by the end of that call. And then we're gonna implement the plan, and I'm gonna help you through it for two weeks, okay? They're freaking gold. So I have a few of these available. Just DM me on Instagram. Um, but the best thing about these, I love doing this work, I live for it, is helping you understand the specificity of this, right? And I'm thinking of so many of my private clients now where their, the game has been changed for them because they went from just feeling like another random product store to actually building a customer base that loves, obsessed with their products, okay? And this is the beauty of it. You wanna get Shopify sales every hour, you gotta do the hard work, okay? Most people don't do this either because they don't know or they don't understand how. So you're learning how right now, right? I mean, this is the work. So the second thing I wanna talk about is kind of... It kind of goes with number one, but if you don't know number one, you're not gonna get number two Okay? You've gotta stop making vanilla content. Your content will never get seen, and it will go straight to the content graveyard because it's too vanilla. It's too generic. No one is paying attention'cause you're just... Probably, honestly, you're just showing your new arrivals over and over and over again, and unboxing, and this, and look at this product, and look at these pants, and look at this candle, and look at this. And like, that is so generic and overdone, and it's not gonna get you any, any, any kind of visibility amongst the masses of the people you're actually trying to reach, okay? You're giving zero to the algorithm to work with, and you're giving zero to your customer who's out there, like, who would be so excited to find you. You're giving zero for them to even connect with, right? Like, content is the heartbeat of your business if you're selling online. So we cannot put it, we cannot make it a bottom-of-the-priority, let's just get the post done and, and roll with it, right? It's not gonna do any good. Like just,"Okay, well, I posted for the day. Cool, I can check that off the box." Like, no. Posting and praying is dead skis. If you're gonna post, you might as well make it count. So don't post generic content. And this doesn't mean you have to be, like, the next content creator to win, like, whatever content creator Oscar award is out there, okay? This is actually very, very, very simple This is not about having cinematic, like the best quality. This is literally just about having content that doesn't feel boring and doesn't feel like everybody else and doesn't make connection. Okay? Creating content with strategy and intention, that's how you create connection. That's how you create connection. And here's the thing, you need to also warm up the audience that's already found you. And by you continuing to post boring freaking content all the time, vanilla content, you're not warming them up to buy from you. There, there's nothing for them to get excited about. You're not communicating to them in a way that feels like, ooh, this is something I need, want, desire. Like, this feels like, yes, I gotta buy this. I gotta see it on my doorstep. Right? So I like the effort right? I give you the A+ for effort. I like that you're showing up and you're posting,'cause that is important, but you're gonna get so burnt out, sister, if you keep doing this over and over and over and you don't get results. You're gonna be like,"What the heck is going on? Is my stuff ugly? Am I not cool enough? Why is no one liking my stuff on social media?" Has nothing to do with any of that. It's just straight-up strategy. You gotta get more in, like, more in tune in your content with connecting with your people, okay? So important. So, so important. I had a huge, um I would call her a mega boutique comment on a post that I had made about this recently, and she's like,"Yep, this is exactly the case." Like, no one's out here... The most successful people are n- not out here willy-nilly just checking off the box to post. They understand it's, it's a sales stream. They understand that they have to put the proper energy in it and say the right things and do the right strategy to get results from it. They're not out there just posting'cause they, someone told them to post three times a day on social media. They understand that it's a tool they use to connect with their customers. And by the way, it is not an annoyance to them. It's part of the business. It's not like,"Ugh, I gotta post content today." No. It's like,"Okay, great, I have another opportunity to grow my business today with my content and to connect with more customers that are gonna be obsessed with my stuff. Like, how grateful am I?" That's their attitude, by the way. Like, the successful people, we get that content is the heartbeat of our business, and we get how important it is. And any time I get new content out into the world, like, I was just looking at our social feed for my own brand, Ally D brand, and I was like, damn, I am so excited for this new content for people to see this. Like, this is gonna be so great. They're gonna feel like... They're gonna feel excited when they see it,'cause I know they can picture themselves in this content, right? And like, I have the product that I sell- Sportswear, T-shirts, sweatshirts, activewear, it is very easy to fall into generic land, right? Like, there's a zillion people that sell essentially products like I sell, right? Sweatshirts, T-shirts, hats, skorts, sportswear. Okay? But the reason why I'm so successful, why we get sales every hour on Shopify, is because I have gotten wildly specific, and I continue to do that. I continue to get even more specific every year, and it gets me more and more results. So do not think that niching down does anything else but help your, uh, skyrocket your business into the stars,'cause that's the reality. Okay? So remember, number one, we got to make sure that you are wildly specific on who you sell to. Number two, stop making vanilla content. Get wildly specific in your content for the customer that you sell to. And number three, this is a big one. This is a really big one. Do not try to be everywhere, especially in the beginning. You guys, one of the biggest mistakes I see store owners make, and that I made as well, is you think you need to be everywhere and do everything to, like, literally squeeze a sale out of anywhere. So what happens is this means you're actually spreading yourself way too thin at this point. Way too thin.'Cause a lot of you don't have a team yet, right? It's like you, and maybe, maybe someone's helping you. But most of you are out there solopreneuring this, and you're getting crappy results because you're spreading yourself too thin and you're ki- getting, like, you're kinda crappy at a lot of things, if I'm being honest right? And I can say this because I've been there. I've been the girl who, without a team, was trying to be all over the place, squeeze a sale out of anywhere, instead of getting really, really good at, like, one or two things, getting regular sales, and then growing from there. Okay? We can always add on, but you've got to get really fricking good at at least one or two things first, like platforms, whatever that is. Okay? Like, maybe you sell, um, I don't know, on Etsy or maybe, you know, TikTok's your thing, or Instagram or Facebook, or going live. Like, you've gotta get good at one thing before you think you're gonna be everywhere. Oh, I'm gonna blog. I'm gonna learn SEO. I'm gonna do ads. I'm gonna learn, um, influencer marketing. I'm gonna learn Instagram, and I'm gonna go... Like, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna add this app, and we're gonna do... Right? Like, people are constantly telling you you need to be doing more, more, more, more, have more things on your plate. It's the total opposite, you guys. Get really fricking good at a couple things. Dominate them. Get the sales rolling in from those specific platforms'cause what it's gonna do is it's gonna teach you strategy- You're gonna be focused and learning strategy and not having to try to learn a zillion different things and be- and have crappy results from a zillion things. You're gonna wear yourself into the ground. Like, who wants to have a schedule of a hundred zillion different things they're doing every single day and get no results? Raise your hand if you would like that life. No one is raising their hand. I can tell. Even though this is a podcast, no one's raising their hand. No one wants to work their butt off every single day, be everywhere, learn everything, ha- have their bl- brains about to explode because there's so much information coming in on SEO and ads and this and that, and it's like,"Ahhh," right?"But I'm not getting any results." Okay,'cause you're doing way too many things, and you're doing them poorly. And it's no fault of your own. Like, do not blame yourself. This is just what most people think you need to do to be successful. You gotta be everywhere. And that only comes once you've dominated a few things and hopefully growing a team, right? I have different people on my team that help with different areas of the business. There is no way that one person could do it well and do all of it, and it's why you see a lot of these boutiques or brands will dominate a platform, and they'll pick one or two, and they'll go all in on that. And by the way, this, this never means excluding email and email marketing. That is always a part of the plan. I'm talking about, like, your forward-facing marketing, where you're, like, out there in the universe. If it's TikTok, we're still driving them to our website, getting them on our email address, and emailing them, okay? That is, like, a no-brainer. That is a non-negotiable. But I'm saying what you don't need to be doing is a little bit of TikTok, a little bit of this, a little bit of Facebook, a little bit of Pinterest, a little bit of blogging, a little bit of UGC, a little bit of this. Uh, right, all over the place and getting no results from any of those platforms and then thus getting no sales. But what if instead you were like,"I'm gonna freaking dominate my Facebook group. I'm gonna get to the point of, like, where I'm getting regular sales from that group, and then maybe I'll grow into adding something else, like TikTok," right? Or something else. Like, that's how you grow and learn,'cause once you learn strategy on one platform, you're gonna be so much better off when you take on another one, as opposed to, like, failing on both, right? So hopefully you understand that point really, really clear'cause, guys, once you do these three things, this is going to be how you're gonna get sales to skyrocket and how you're gonna be in the kitchen, washing dishes after dinner, and hear cha-ching after cha-ching after cha-ching. It is the best thing in the world, right? The most important thing I want you to remember, though, and take away from this episode is this is not magic. Your success is not magic. It's not luck. It's not magic. It's not hope. It's not winging it. Everything online comes down to strategy, and once you accept that and understand that, you're gonna turn into, like, a boss I'm gonna say a boss babe. I hate that word, but, like, you're gonna become a boss'cause you're gonna understand that it's not emotional. It's not, um, something that you just, you know, throw stuff up there and hope something sticks. It turns really fun. It does. Like, my clients... Like, I have clients all over, like, all over journeys, right? Some are just getting started. Some are in their 60s just getting started. Some have been in business for 10 years, 12 years, that are now seeing results after pounding the pavement for so many years, and I hate that for them because I, I, I'm like... They're like,"Why weren't you around sooner?" And I was like,"I don't know. I'm sorry. I was still, like, really, really just in the thick of it in my business." And now, I was saying the other day, um, I had gone to the office and had a quick meeting with a couple team members, and then I left, and I was headed to the bank, which is my favorite place. I love the bank. I have the best bank in the world. Um, anyways, they called me a few minutes later and were like,"Hey, we're out of some green glitter vinyl. Can you go pick some up?" And I was like,"Yes, I can," because here's the deal: when they need me, I get so excited'cause they don't need me anymore, you guys. They do not need me in, in there anymore. The things that I work on do not have anything to do with the daily operations of this business anymore, and it is a blessing. But sometimes I just like to feel needed, okay? And I was like,"Yeah, girls, I'm going to Michaels. I'm gonna get the green glitter vinyl until our next shipment comes in. We'll supplement with the Michaels". I went into Michaels. I had... They had one more roll of it, and I was like,"Yes, success." Like, I felt so great that I contributed by being the errand girl today or yesterday when I went to go do that. It was so, so great. By the way, when I was at Michaels too, I also bought, like, two giant fake palm trees. They were on sale. Um, three candles. Three for$10. Like, other random stuff. Have you been to Michaels lately? It is so cute in there. So much cute home decor. Anyway, that's a whole nother podcast episode. We should do, like, a, a great finds episode, but this is what it's gonna take you guys, okay? It's gonna take these three things. And I know you can do this, and if you need help figuring out any of this stuff- This is what this space is for, right? You have the pod- podcast here. If you wanna go deeper and you want more support, DM me on Instagram, ally.d.ceo. We can work privately. You can jump, jump inside Trendsetter University, which is literally the best freaking program ever. If you wanna read more about that, go to imatrendsetter.com. You can find out all the scoop on there, the pricing. It's a six-month program. It is so freaking good. You will just feel like you have found a home. You will not be a lone wolf out there anymore. You will have answers to your questions that keep you up at night. Like, no more of that. Anytime someone joins, they... just the immediate relief that they have,'cause it's scary at first. They feel scared to invest in themselves. A lot of women that I work with have never invested in themselves, period. They're, they're, like, happy to invest$5,000 in inventory, but to invest anything in themselves, in their learning, in their education feels extremely scary, probably'cause it's not tangible, but it's honestly the most important thing you'll ever do for yourself. I invest a crap ton into myself every month, like, a, like, thousands and thousands of dollars every month, okay? To grow myself because I know my business is only as good as my, my skills and my knowledge, and it should be the same for you. I don't care if you're in the very beginning of your journey or wherever, you have got to start learning to take care of yourself. You are driving the ship here, okay? I know you know this, but I like to, to, uh, reiterate this point'cause I don't want you to forget it, and I don't want you to be scared to invest in yourself. And I get it. Like, it is scary. I get it, but I just... I wish you just could see yourself six f- months from now. I can. Like, when women join, I get excited because I already see what their future's like, and I watch their businesses change before my eyes, and it is, like, the best thing in the whole freaking planet, you guys. I am like,"Oh my God, this is the best thing ever," and I just want this experience for every woman out there that is trying to sell their products. I really, really want this for you. Okay, this has been so fun, you guys. Um, thank you so much for listening. I really hope you enjoyed this episode. If you have any questions, please DM me on Instagram. My DMs are always open. I love hearing from you guys. You're the best community in the entire planet. You guys are go-getters. You're winners, and I love to hear from you. Have a great rest of your day.
