Chapter Break with Peggy Joque Williams
BIO:
Author Peggy Joque Williams is a retired elementary school teacher. A Yooper by birth, Peggy grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula; but having raised her family in Madison, Wisconsin, she considers herself a Cheesehead by choice.
When not writing, Peggy indulges her passion for genealogy research. She has traced her ancestral roots to 10th century France and England. She is especially proud to be able to have identified over twenty Fille du Roi –[FEE DU RA] Daughters of the King-- among her 7th- and 8th-French-Canadian great-grandmothers, as well as her Ojibwe 3rd-great-grandmother, all of whom serve as inspiration for her historical novels.
SYNOPSIS:
Courting the Sun is the story of 16-year-old Sylvienne d’Aubert (Doh-Bear), a free-spirited country girl who receives an invitation to attend the court of King Louis (Louie) XIV (the 14th), where she is assigned to serve under his premier mistress. Unaware of her mother’s secret past with the Sun King, Sylvienne is absorbed into the monarch’s most intimate circle where dreams collide with reality, and she finds herself wholly unprepared for the world of intrigue, illicit affairs, and power-mongering that take place behind the shiny façade that is Versailles.
