Welcome back, everybody. Today, we are going to be looking at the world of Reiki. Okay. Specifically, something called Reju Initiation. Right. And we're going to be taking a look at an article called, Is Reju, the Reiki Initiation Process, Safe? Interesting. By Bronwyn Logan, who is a Reiki expert with over 20 years of experience. And she has a really interesting perspective in this article. Okay. Okay. She compares Reju to sunbathing. Oh, interesting. For the soul. I like that. Which I thought was fascinating. It's something I definitely want to unpack with you today. Absolutely. So, for those of you who might not know, Reju is a sort of spiritual blessing. Okay. And an initiation that takes place between a Reiki teacher and their student. Right. And it's often seen as this really kind of energetic experience. Yeah, it can be very powerful. So the question that we're going to kind of tackle today is, Can something like Reju, which is so spiritual, Could it actually be harmful, especially if someone is dealing with Health issues. Right. You know, if they're unwell, could that actually, you know, I don't know, make it worse or have a negative impact? Well, the article really focuses on the word reiju. Okay. Um, and specifically it, it talks about the multiple meanings of the Japanese character juu. Okay. And so juu can be translated as blessing to receive. Okay, but it can also mean to give and receive at the same time. Whoa, giving and receiving simultaneously Yeah, kind of a mind bending concept it is and that's where I think things get really interesting with this because Bronwyn She really emphasizes that rage you isn't about like actively doing something to someone. Yeah, it's more about like Entering into the shared space, which she calls a healing space, and allowing this natural kind of communication to happen on this kind of spiritual level. So I'm starting to see the sunbathing connection here. Yeah. Like, you're not forcing the sun's rays to hit you. Right. You're just laying out there. Relaxing. Letting your body naturally soak it up. Exactly. Yeah, it's about being present in that space and allowing things to kind of unfold naturally. Okay. Much like basting in the sun. I like that. And, and she even talks about how breath plays a role in this. Interesting. You know how during Reju, the breath deepens and it flows more freely? You're not having to like manipulate it or anything, you're just allowing it to happen. So she specifically advises against like, trying to force your breath or anything like that? Yes, it's about allowing. It's about allowing. Yeah. But how does this all relate to the safety aspect, especially for someone who is really struggling with their health, right? Could it make things worse? Well, I think that's where Bronwyn's perspective gets really thought provoking. Okay. Because instead of talking about failing bodies, She uses the term natural processes. It's a subtle shift, but it's encouraging us to see health challenges not as like breakdowns, but as part of like the human experience. There's a line in the article that really struck me. Oh yeah. It says, gifts passed down through generations. Hmm. What do you make of that? Well, I think what Bronwyn's getting at there is that, you know, our present state, including, you know, any health issues we might have, is shaped by our life experiences, but also what we inherit, you know, genetically. And so Reju encourages us to embrace ourselves as we are without dwelling on what we might perceive as imperfections. Right. You know? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's about accepting what is. Yeah, so it's not about like erasing these challenges or anything, it's more about changing how we relate to them. Exactly. But I'm curious, for someone who's like totally new to all of this, what does a Reju initiation actually look like? Right. Is it like a hands on healing session? That's where a lot of the misconception lies, you know, because it's not about the teacher kind of directing energy at the student. It's more about Creating that shared space where healing can kind of emerge organically. Okay. You know, it's a collaborative experience. Right. The teacher's more like a facilitator. Okay. Guiding the student into that state of deep connection and allowing that natural communication to unfold. So it's not like a quick fix or a magic cure or anything. No, not at all. It's about tapping into our own. Like inner capacity for healing. Exactly. And that's where that simultaneous giving and receiving comes in. Okay. Because there's a subtle exchange of energy and intention between the teacher and the student. Interesting. They're both active participants in this shared experience. Okay. It's almost like a dance. You know, rather than a one way transmission. I see what you mean about the sunbathing analogy now. Yeah. It's like we're not forcing anything. We're just being present and receptive. Exactly. But what about the risks? You know, we've talked about the benefits. Right. But are there any downsides, especially for someone with like, you know, pre existing health conditions? That's a really important question. And while Reju is generally considered safe, It's important to remember that it's not a replacement for conventional medical treatment. It's more of a complementary practice. Gotcha. So if someone has a specific medical condition, it's always wise for them to consult with their healthcare provider. Right. Before engaging in any energy healing modality. That makes sense. Yeah. What about finding a qualified Reju practitioner? Okay. Any advice for our listeners who might be interested in like, exploring this further. Yeah, I mean, doing your research is key. Okay. Ultimately, you want to find a teacher who really resonates with you. Yeah. And whose approach feels right for you. I think that's such an important point. Yeah. You know, finding the right teacher Can make all the difference. Are there like any related practices that can kind of offer similar benefits? Absolutely. I mean, things like meditation yoga. Okay. Even spending time in nature can be incredibly supportive. Practices. It's about finding what works best for you and creating this holistic approach to well being right and raise you can be one piece of that puzzle. Yeah, but it doesn't have to be the only one. This has been such an enlightening conversation. It has. I feel like we've explored the spiritual meaning of raise you the concept of giving and receiving simultaneously. And how it can really shift our perspective on healing and the challenges that we face. Yeah. Before we wrap up, I want to leave our listeners with something to ponder. Okay. What's that? Bronwen's article really got me thinking about how we approach our own health journeys. Yeah. You know, if challenges are an inherent part of being human, Does that change how we view and navigate those challenges? What if instead of resisting them, we lean into them with a little more curiosity and acceptance? Hmm, that's a really interesting thought. Yeah, food for thought, right? Absolutely. I mean, maybe it's about shifting from a mindset of battling our imperfections Yeah. to one of embracing them as part of our unique tapestry. Yeah. Who knows, maybe by acknowledging those challenges, we can unlock a deeper level of healing and wholeness. I think you hit the nail on the head there. Yeah. It's about moving away from that fight and towards a more compassionate understanding of ourselves. Absolutely. And for those who really resonate with this idea, maybe exploring Reju might be a beautiful next step on that journey. Yeah, I think that's a great point. It's a really beautiful way to look at it, you know? Yeah, and Reju kind of offers us this really unique pathway to explore that shift. Yeah, I think so. Like, it's not about erasing our struggles, it's about changing our relationship with them. Mm hmm. And maybe that's where true healing can begin. That's a really profound thought. And Reju, with its emphasis on acceptance and allowing, really provides the framework for that kind of healing. We've only just scratched the surface. Yeah, just a glimpse. But what a fascinating surface it is. It really is. So I want to give a huge thank you to Bronwyn Logan for her insightful article that kind of sparked this whole conversation. Absolutely. And to you, dear listener, thanks for joining us on this deep dive. We hope you found it as thought provoking as we did. And until next time, keep seeking, keep questioning, and keep embracing this incredible journey of being human.
