Gentle Art of Leadership With Matt Shoup
What is definition of leadership and how does one become a better leader?
Leadership is a lifelong journey of failing forward, stepping out in faith, and embracing discomfort. A true leader owns and lives out their imperfect self, sharing their stories of wins and losses, highs and lows, adversity and setbacks, while continuing to vision and pursue their calling. Tune in to the Gentle Art of Leadership podcast to hear these brave and vulnerable stories from some of the world’s most impactful leaders.
Our guests and I sit down weekly for some delicious Spanish coffee to share our stories and journeys together while inviting you to join along with us! Our guests are predominately Jesus following men and women from across all walks of life. We have featured CEO’s and entrepreneurs, professional athletes, authors, keynote speakers, counselors, pastors, musicians, and many other impactful professions.
We have fun, shoot straight, and leave it all on the table. Can’t wait for you to tune in!
Meet your host;
Matt Shoup, is a Jesus follower, husband, father, keynote speaker, facilitator, author, serial entrepreneur, Spain aficionado, Spanish coffee addict, aspiring paella chef and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt. He’s proof that you can mix faith, business, and caffeine—and still find time to roll on the mats.
He has spent the last 25 years building successful companies, and interacting with some of the world’s most inspiring, interesting, and successful leaders. Matt’s initial journey to advance and develop his own leadership has now developed into this podcast to contribute to you!
When Matt isn’t inspiring entrepreneurs or running his businesses, he enjoys traveling to Spain, teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, perfecting his paella recipes, fueling his Spanish coffee addiction, and most of all, spending quality time with his wife, two children, and their dog.
Matt’s mission is simple: inspire others to discover their purpose, pursue it relentlessly, and make a lasting impact on the world—one business, one connection, and one cup of coffee at a time.
Thank you for tuning in, and as you do, remember to ALWAYS:
POUR INTO PEOPLE!

From Four Time Felon To Full Time Pastor: The Faith and Redemption Story of Rick Scadden
Rick Scadden is a full time pastor with Citipointe Church in Loveland, Colorado, but his journey began with Rick being a four-time felon. Rick grew up in poverty, in a home filled with drugs, alcohol, abuse and crime. Rick shares his gritty, raw story of taking the path to become like the many that were in his life. This path led to the streets, addiction and a decision that would alter his life and the lives of others in a massive way. This decision landed him in prison with multiple felonies. It was in prison that he decided to commit his life to God, and began his journey of redemption.
