In this episode of Western Teacher Live we’re talking about public school funding and the Australian Education Union’s (AEU) newly launched For Every Child campaign. 
 
 Hear from AEU Federal President Correna Haythorpe and SSTUWA President Matthew Jarman.
 
 This episode will unravel the issues of school funding such as class sizes, a national workforce crisis otherwise known as the teacher shortage, which is has been sparked by a range of factors from workload issues to school violence.

According to the AEU State of our Schools (SOS) survey in 2015, 28 per cent of principals reported that they were experiencing a teacher shortage at their school.
 
 While the latest AEU SOS survey shows a dramatic increase in this issue with an astounding 90 per cent of principal’s reporting teacher shortages.

In this episode Correna Haythorpe said “there is a national workforce crisis” happening in the public education realm right now.
