Kathleen Sheridan

Kathleen Sheridan's earliest influences were two framed prints her mother treasured—Pinkie by Thomas Lawrence and Blue Boy by Thomas Gainsborough. At age 10, seeing the original paintings at the Huntington Library transformed art from something admired into something deeply personal.

She began painting at 19, teaching herself while balancing work and raising a family. Limited finances led her to work with a limited palette, a discipline she continues today. She later studied with Wayne Thiebaud and Hardy Hanson and earned a BA from UC, Santa Cruz.

Kathleen served as ED of the San Benito County Arts Commission, and served as Chair of the California Assembly of Arts Agencies for the Central Coast. She later became ED of the Hollister Downtown Association.

Today, Kathleen's realist work celebrates moments in time. She also works as a nonprofit consultant and yoga teacher. She and her husband, potter Kent Child, maintain home studios in Hollister.
