In this episode we use the guitar to study, in all keys, the i - VII - VI - VII in the natural minor or reckoned from it's relative Major Key, vi - V - IV - V chord progression as heard in popular tunes such as Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" and the solo section to Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven.”
This episode focuses on Major and minor Pentatonic Scales.

Reckoned from the Natural Minor Scale you can apply the following solfege:
- i (Do --> Me --> Fa --> Sol --> Te)
- VII (Te --> Do --> Re --> Fa --> Sol)
- VI (Le --> Te --> Do --> Me --> Fa)
Reckoned from the Relative Major you can apply the following solfege:
- vi (La --> Do --> Re --> Mi --> Sol)
- V (Sol --> La --> Ti --> Re --> Mi)
- IV (Fa --> Sol --> La --> Do --> Re)
Root to the 5th & Down Pentatonic Scale for Each Chord Solfege Syllable Options:
Reckoned from the Natural Minor Scale you can apply the following solfege:
- i. 1- 5 - 4 - min 3 - 1... (Do --> Sol --> Fa --> Me -- Do)
- VII. 1 - 5 - Maj 3... 2 - 1... (Te --> Fa --> Re --> Do --> Te)
- VI. 1 - 5 - Maj 3... 2 - 1... (Le --> Me --> Do --> Te --> Le)
Reckoned from the Relative Major you can apply the following solfege:
- vi. 1- 5 - 4 - min 3 - 1... (La --> Mi --> Re --> Do --> La)
- V. 1 - 5 - Maj 3... 2 - 1... (Sol --> Re --> Ti --> La --> Sol)
- IV. 1 - 5 - Maj 3... 2 - 1... (Fa --> Do --> La --> Sol --> Fa)
We explore this exercise in all 12 keys traveling counterclockwise around the circle of 5ths:
