Bringing it home this week! In this episode Gino turns his attention to what's coming up in Jozi. Each year, thousands of young South Africans come together to explore career paths in animation, visual storytelling, gaming, VFX, and tech.  And where do they do this? AVIJOZI, of course.

What's that, we hear you say! 

AVIJOZI is the brainchild of one Nosipho Maketo-van den Bragt. After initially pursuing a career as a lawyer, Nosipho discovered her true calling was to apply her legal knowledge in a more artistic endeavor with her husband, Rob Van den Bragt, a visual effects supervisor. The couple co-founded Chocolate Tribe, the Johannesburg and Cape Town-based visual effects and animation studio that has done work for Netflix, BBC, Disney and Voltage Pictures. Nosipho chats to ACP about Chocolate Tribe and this year's AVIJOZI, happening this weekend. 

The event brings together local talent, global speakers, and high-impact creative energy, celebrating the fusion of creativity and technology. Whether you’re a seasoned professional, an aspiring talent, or simply a curious enthusiast, AVIJOZI offers something for everyone. And what's more, entrance is free.
