Out of the Mouth of Babes "Our Future Leaders"

S1 EP13 Pt.7 - Friendships, Fouls, and Fun: Stories from the Court

Kevin Shook Season 1 Episode 13

Ever found yourself caught in the whirlwind of school life and sports commitments? We've been there, and on this episode of "Out of the Mouth of Babes," we share our laugh-inducing journey through the chaotic world of middle school basketball. From the perpetual tug-of-war between academics and athletics to the hilarious mishaps that have become legendary tales within our team, we promise a ride filled with laughter and nostalgia. Remember that time we left the Test Tigers in the dust? It’s victories like those, coupled with the priceless bonds and life lessons gleaned from the court, that make these stories worth sharing.

You'll chuckle as we recount episodes of forgotten jerseys and the unfortunate incident of Amaria's ripped shorts during practice. But it’s not just about the games or the blunders; it's about the friendships forged and the resilience built through every challenge. Listen to how we tackle time management—or at least try to—and the creative ways we sneak in some rest amid packed schedules. And, of course, we couldn’t end without a giggle-worthy tribute to our not-so-synchronized team dance moves. Join us as we reminisce with humor and heart, celebrating the spirit of teamwork and leadership that shapes tomorrow's leaders.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Out of the Mouth of Babes, a podcast for our future leaders. Okay, guys, so how do we think basketball has been and school has been? How do you manage life with school ball? Real hard, you don't get a break, not, necessarily. No, I mean you, can we get like three seconds? We make our time work? Yeah Right, we get Sundays off, time management no, I don't. I gotta go to work. Oh dang, I'm dang about to quit time management. That's not enough, though. I gotta go to work. Oh dang, I'm doing. Oh yeah, all right. Oh, thank you, for it's only 56. Okay, if we really don't have no questions. Man, I don't know what he wants to talk about in here.

Speaker 1:

Well, mari, what's your favorite memory from middle school basketball? I can tell you mine Beating the Test Tigers. Every time, every time, every single time. We beat them, dub after dub. I have nothing to say to that. Every single time we beat them, dub after dub. I have nothing to say to that. Yeah, you should. Technically. Oh well, y'all. Dagner was up all the time. We actually outscored you guys almost every time, until the very end. Yeah, you guys just let it slip away. You guys start crying. They started crying. You guys are. Where's that sound effect? Okay, was that your your favorite? I don't know. Oh my gosh, that's not my favorite, but it's fairly embarrassing.

Speaker 1:

My favorite part about middle school was Amaria ripping her shorts in practice. I remember when she ran into the pole on the way to our class oh sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt that. And I remember this one time I forgot my jersey at home and your dad made you guys run. Yeah, and she had to run. Yeah, and I did not care at all, I was just happy I wasn't running. Okay, guys, to end this off, we're gonna do a worm. Oh, I'm gonna mess it up. Oh yeah, moran's mori. Wait, how do you? You don't know, I can start. Okay, oh, I started it already. Are we going back? Thank you for Out of the Mouth of Babes, the podcast for our future leaders.
