What is THE essential attribute a servant leader needs to succeed?
When I ask people this question, this is what I hear:
- "It's their Character!" is the most common response
- "Relationships. Leadership is all about people." is a frequent theme
- "Leaders need the Skills to get the job done and deliver results." is yet another occasional response
Each is good a response.
Each is partially right.
It isn't ONE essential attribute, it's THREE - Character, Relationships, and Skills.
These three attributes work together, reinforcing one another.
Without one - Character, Relationships, or Skills it's like driving with a flat tire.
You keep drifting to one side. Or, have a slow, bumpy ride.
