The Word Became Flesh

Identity Crisis? Christ Has the Manual

Grace Kapongo Season 3 Episode 8

Who are you when everything is stripped away? When the titles, the achievements, the roles, and even the pain no longer define you?

In a world constantly trying to label us, finding our true identity can feel like an impossible journey. Priscilla, tech CEO and worship leader, knows this struggle intimately. Before Christ transformed her life, she was chasing validation in nightclubs, promoting parties, and dreaming of becoming "the next Beyoncé." As she describes it, she was "broken and broke"—lost in a cycle of seeking male validation and believing lies about her worth.

The turning point came when she encountered the truth of 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." This wasn't just a spiritual platitude—it became the foundation for a complete identity transformation that touched every area of her life.

What makes this conversation so compelling is Priscilla's raw honesty about the journey. Finding your identity in Christ isn't a one-time event but an ongoing process of restoration and revelation. For her, it meant surrendering dreams that weren't aligned with God's purpose, being intentional about who she "beholds" or looks up to, and learning to resist pressures that would define her by worldly standards.

Perhaps most profound is her insight that "only the maker of something can write the manual." While the world offers countless explanations for who we are, only our Creator truly understands our design and purpose. When we align with His vision for our lives, everything else—career, relationships, ministry—falls into divine order.

Whether you're struggling with identity confusion, recovering from church hurt, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, this episode offers hope and practical wisdom. Join us for a conversation that might just change how you see yourself—and transform how you live out your purpose in this world. Your true identity is waiting to be discovered.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the when we Came Flesh podcast. Happy Monday. This is your last Monday of the month. It is June 30th. So if you're excited to enter into June 30th, let us open up with the word of prayer, because today something special is happening again. So let us invite the Holy Spirit in this place. Let us close our eyes, father, in the mighty name of Jesus, lord, we want to say thank you. Thank you, father, for January, thank you Father for February, thank you Lord for March, thank you, lord for April, thank you Father for May. And Father, now we have entered, we have ended with the month of June.

Speaker 1:

Father, we are so grateful, jesus, father, we invite that the Holy Spirit will come, o Lord, descend in everybody's room, everybody's office, lord, whatever that they're listening, my Father, god, lord, we ask my Father, god, lord, we ask my Father, god, for your light. We ask my Father, god, for the presence of God, lord to surround your people, god, to surround your saints. Oh Lord, father, father, we're praying. My Father, god, for our sisters and brother. Oh Lord, mighty God, whatever that it is dying in their spirit, oh God, whatever that is dying in their home, oh Lord, may you arise. My Father, god, may you make all things new. My Father, god, to those who believe in your name, o Lord, to those who believe in you, to those who call upon the name of Jesus, and may they be, restoration, your joy, your peace, your love and your kindness. O Lord, father, we thank you, my Father, god, o Lord, father, come and have your way, take the stage, o Lord, because the stage is always yours. O Jesus, we thank you, lord, we love you. My Father, god, in Jesus' mighty name, we pray, amen, amen, welcome to the Word Became Flash. So last episode, the month of May hey, last episode of the month of May, we talk about being the bride of Christ and our two special guests. They definitely they left no crumb Okay, they left no crumb in here. So we were so grateful and, by the way, we're so grateful for those two new souls that they came into God's kingdom that you appreciate the episode that you are making yourself as the bride of Christ.

Speaker 1:

Today we're talking something so deep and so tangible finding your identity in Christ, knowing who you are in Christ Jesus. And I have the privilege, the privilege not only to talk to this everything about myself, because I know I went through identity, my identity when I left church, my identity shifted, okay. So if you guys listened to the previous episode of February, I talk about my lesbian seasons, okay, and how the Lord took me and how the Lord just pulled me back. So today we're focusing on finding your identity in Christ, as when you're a bride of Christ, how do you know your identity in Christ? So I'm going to read the scripture today, because today we're all about scripture, and then I'll let my guest to come in.

Speaker 1:

So today we're focusing on the scripture of 2 Corinthians, 5.17. That says, therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, that all has passed away and, behold, a new has come. So this conversation today it is deeply, deeply into God's heart for us to know who are we in Christ. So today I have the privilege to talk to the most person who carry Christ's identity with so much joy and pride in everything that she does. Yo, she is a mom, okay, she's a CEO man, a wonderful worship leader. When you hear her said are you ready? Wonderful worship leader. When you hear her said are you ready? Get ready to take off your shoes, because you got, you're getting ready to sweat. So I'm super excited to have a special guest in this house, in this couch. So we're so saints. Let us all welcome our sister, priscilla, in the building you know how to hype up your gas thank god.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my goodness, priscilla, it's great privilege to have you in the house. Because, uh, when God said identity and I was like, okay, lord, where are we going with this? And then when he said, uh, when he said invite priscilla, and I was like get priscilla on this episode. And I was like, okay, god, you know, I listen to god, I listen to what god does, the thing. But before we go, like, let the people know who is priscilla, who is priscilla, like I kind of know you, but let them know who is Priscilla Absolutely.

Speaker 2:

Well, first of all, thank you for having me here.

Speaker 2:

It's a privilege to be here. And so who is Priscilla? Okay, so Priscilla was born and partly raised in Montreal and I got to live a little bit. I got to live a little bit around. I lived in Africa in two different countries and then came to Edmonton and today fast forward to 2025, priscilla is, well, like you said, a mom to a wonderful three-year-old boy. I am a co-founder and CEO of Scaled AI, which is a tech company. We consult and we also develop ai applications for small businesses. And priscilla, yes, she is a worship leader. Um, used to be a singer, used to and I'm sure we're gonna touch a little bit on that before, we're gonna touch on that after um, and uh, she also is a life group leader. What else? Joyful person. I really enjoy music. I really enjoy to dance. I enjoy dancing. Yeah, that's who I am.

Speaker 1:

That's who I am. Okay, you know, when I knew Priscilla okay, I'm going to share a little story, guys, how I connect with this girl and I was like gosh, yeah, that's what's up that's what's up that's what's up.

Speaker 1:

Remember, um, moses bliss cancer. Yes, oh, how could I forget? How could I forget? Okay, moses bliss, if you're listening to us, we need you back in the nintendo again. So remember the moses bliss cancer man, the way you just worship, the way you dance, the breakdance move, man, I was just like I was in the vibe, I was in the zone and and cause you know so, every time I'm in, just in your presence, I know I am gonna dance, I know I'm gonna sweat, so that's like really like I went home. I was like, yeah, god, I, I like that, I like her. You know like I just like your joy. You know when you're, when you're worship, when, when you're on stage, you know the presence that you bring of god. You know you, you really drive people in so I really, I really got.

Speaker 1:

I appreciate that about you, so I was so excited for me to dive in in this topic because, as I said, identity is very huge, very, very huge into the body of christ and I feel like some people, I don't feel like. I feel like some people like, if you don't know who you are in christ, the devil will mess you like would literally mess you up and give you your new identity. Because I went to a journey where my identity was really shifted and God have to put me back to the scripture and be like Grace, go back to the scripture, understand who you are. So now, before who before you, before you know who is Priscilla. How did you, how did you come out, find out your identity in Christ? Like, how did you come and find out? Like, you know you stand into that?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, amazing, christ. Like, how did you come and find out? Like you know you stand into that? Yeah, yeah, amazing, and actually you know. One thing I can say for starters is it's a journey, you know, um. You don't wake up knowing every single thing about you. Yeah, you know, um. I believe that, in as much as I know quite a bit about myself today, there's still so much that I have to discover about myself, and it takes a lifetime, I think, and um, so how I have come to know who I, what I know about myself? It actually started by giving my life to Christ. Okay, so if I briefly say who Priscilla was before Christ, so Priscilla was, um, in pursuit of becoming the next Beyonce.

Speaker 1:

I heard that story.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, so yeah. So that's who I was. I was deep, deep, deep in the nightlife. I was a promoter at one point, you know, I mean I'm an evangelist, so you can imagine promoting. You know, texting people like, oh, are you coming out tonight?

Speaker 2:

You know, that's what I used to do, and I was so convinced that music was, you know, it was my destiny. I was meant to be in Hollywood. So that's who I believed, my identity, what I believe my identity to be, and so I gave my life to Christ. And, first of all, the first revelation about my identity is you are a child of God. Right, and the journey began. But what actually happened is the Lord first had to repair something. So I believe the way God does things, when someone gives their life to Christ, is he first has to restore and then transform, like, so removing anything that wasn't actually me, you know. So removing anything, removing anything, um, that the world had put in me, that I, I, I thought that I was a type of girl that I have to wear the least amount of clothes possible that that's, that's who I used to be.

Speaker 2:

So that's one identity, um, that the Lord had to take out of me. That, no, we don't, we don't need to walk around naked, you know, so you know, and that, and then removing many other things. That was in me. One um part actually that I that I should mention is because of my, my passion for music. I used to, obviously, when I was in the world, listen to secular music and I would have never thought that one day I would stop, but that was actually one of the first things that the lord did is I stopped listening to secular music by myself, by myself, yeah, so that was, you know. So that process of just removing one thing and then, um, that, so I gave my life to Christ in 2020, so 2021, 2022, it was more of like restoration, removing what's not supposed to be there. I want to say my journey to discovering my identity only started in 2020. Not even 2023.

Speaker 2:

I want to say 2024, like last year. Last year is when the journey to discovering who I am and I remember the first thing God did it was January 2024, the day after crossover, so the first day in the year. That's when the Lord literally put me in front of a mirror and showed me this is who you are, priscilla. This is who you are. You know you're someone that's driven um and and you know you're meant to to to do all of these things, and that's when I started paying attention that, okay, maybe I don't know who I am, so, really, that's, that's what the journey has been and that's when it started.

Speaker 1:

I would say january 2024 january 2024 that's when you're like you first have your first. That would be like your first encounter with god, exactly to start exactly.

Speaker 2:

Yes, that was it that's very good.

Speaker 1:

That's very good. Now um has, as someone who lead in both tech and faith, word. How do you resist the pressure to not let the role of success define who you are, who you are?

Speaker 2:

yeah. So one thing that's very important that you know, I've definitely learned with apostle emmanuel is who you behold. Right, because I believe when you behold people, there is a pressure to become like them, whether you accept it or not. And so if you're beholding someone that is, for example, in the world and that is maybe materialistic, then whether you want to admit it or not, there is that pressure to become like that. So I believe the pressures, a lot of the pressures, are based on what we behold, even social media, right, social media the more we ingest all it has to give, the more that pressure of doing what you see on there is on us.

Speaker 2:

And you know, the Lord once revealed something to me that's very profound. He was telling me about the scripture and the Lord will give us a desire of our hearts. And you know he broke it down in a way that what does that mean? The Lord will give us a desire of our hearts. Is it that he will give us what we're desiring or what we are desiring? He's the one that's giving us. You get like there's a slight difference there, right, it's not the same thing. So what he? So me, I choose to see it in the way that he is giving me what I desire, not social media, but if you behold social media, then you're the desire of your heart, can. So he was telling me any anything that you've ever wanted in life? Where did that desire actually come from? Is it from beholding social media? Is it from beholding this and that? Right?

Speaker 2:

So let's say, for example, I behold another CEO you know that is very materialistic Then, I believe, already helps to keep a lot of pressure out of the door, right?

Speaker 2:

Nevertheless, pressure still comes, you know, and I want to say, going back to God, going back to who I know I'm supposed to be, and to the basics, there's one rule of thumb that I go by, and it's really what Jesus said Love God, you know, love yourself as you love others and love God with all your heart, all your mind and all your strength. And if it doesn't pass that test, you know, is it this that I'm about to do? Does it show that I love myself? Does it show that I love others? Does it show that I love God? And if it answers no to any of these things, I know I have no business doing it. So I want to say these two things, being careful of what I, what and who I behold, and going through the, the rule of thumb of love, are the two main things that help me resist the pressures of you know how I would define success, or what I even want, choose and choose not to do would you share with us, like for somebody who's a ceo?

Speaker 1:

um, for somebody who's looking at to be a ceo, like who do you behold for for your business? Like you, you also have a successful business that you do like. What motivate you every day, you know yes, what motivates me every?

Speaker 2:

day yes, okay. So you asked me two questions who do I behold and what motivates me every day? Okay. So, who do I behold? It's actually a journey I just recently started. Yes, as recent as two months ago, yeah, okay crazy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and it's been popping. If you all follow priscilla on her on her business page, business been popping thanks, yeah, uh, but yeah.

Speaker 2:

So the backstory to this is I used to, like I said, want to be the next beyonce. Even after giving my life to christ, I still believe that music was my calling. Um, but there was a a bit of a uh, what is it a war of thumb? Talk of war, talk, talk of war. There you go. There was a thing we're going on whereby I found it very difficult to balance both music and business, and one day I went to Apostle Emmanuel and I said, hey, I'm finding it very hard to balance the two, and he said that's because you're not supposed to be doing the two. But I didn't get it then that it meant that I had to completely let go of music. To me it was like okay, in a different season. So I still held on and I still beheld, at that point, christian artists and whatnot.

Speaker 2:

So what I was doing is I was not beholding anything or anyone in the tech world, in the business world, or a CEO or nothing like that. It wasn't until about two months ago, advanced leadership class that at that time I was going through. I was struggling a lot with motivation. So I guess it ties into your second question. Actually, I was struggling a lot with motivation I had. I felt like I had no passion for what I was doing. I knew I was supposed to do it, but the passion was just not there.

Speaker 2:

And what made it worse is I could remember how much passion I had for music, how it was easy for me to not sleep at all because I was working on music. And I went to God and I said God, like I know you wouldn't give me something that I have literally no passion about. You know that I have no passion for. So what's going on here? And so I asked that question at advanced leadership class and, um, I've also responded that it's beholding, like who you're looking up to, who you behold. That's what he did, because I had asked him how he did his own switch from wanting to become the president of the world bank to becoming a minister.

Speaker 2:

Right, and he said, yeah, he stopped beholding people in that field and started beholding people in the ministry world, and so that's when I said, okay, we need to start doing the same thing. So there began my research of. For me, it was important to find CEOs that were maybe around my age, that looked like me, because it'd be easier for me to identify, and so I started finding a few. Here and there, however, there was always that christianity component that was missing, and so today I can't say that I have specifically found one person that embodies everything I would like to behold, but so what I do is I do have a few people that I behold. One of them is ibukuna ushika. So ibukuna ushika is actually she is a very successful businesswoman, she's Nigerian and she's a minister. Actually, she's Christian. She's a very successful entrepreneur, she has all the package.

Speaker 2:

She has all the package, yeah, she has all the package and I've taken a lot of joy reading her books and whatnot. And there are other entrepreneurs here and there that I do look up to because of their grit, because of their resilience and how that helped them become who they are today. I'll give the example of Olamide Oloe. She is the CEO of Topicals, our founder and CEO, co-founder and CEO of Topicals. For me, it's her story.

Speaker 2:

I really enjoy her story and you know how she took advantage of every opportunity that she had and so so, yeah, so just beholding, to a certain degree, people here and there, and what keeps me motivated today is actually not the business in itself. What keeps me motivated is my calling, which is to influence people to reach their full potential in Christ no-transcript seeing that, despite many hurdles, despite you know, the fact that I'm a single mom, despite this and this and this, and that I'm still doing what I'm doing and what God has called me to do and I'm succeeding at it, then that will motivate them to do the same, especially those that are in the world.

Speaker 2:

You know I always say I left, but there are many people that are still there and I want them to look and say, wow, like I used to club with this girl yeah you know, I used to. I used to party and break down and break it down with this girl.

Speaker 1:

But that's a part of being light. You know exactly pulling um being light, take, take darkness out of light. When the Bible command us that you are the light, you know you bring the light, so you want to bring them into the light.

Speaker 2:

So which is a good motivation. Exactly, exactly and yeah. So, even when God gave me the assignment of actually becoming influencer, which I didn't I didn't take it literally. When he first said it, you know, he said at the beginning of 2025, you're an influencer.

Speaker 1:

I said no, I. He said at beginning of 2025, you're an influencer.

Speaker 2:

I said, yeah, I'm an influencer, yeah, and the doors I start shifting, opening well before I didn't even realize he he meant actually influence, like social media influencing. I didn't, I didn't realize it then, but yeah, so when I actually took it seriously and started posting and whatnot, yes, then definitely, you know things. Oh, we see you everywhere. Lights, yes, yes, but yeah. So that that's my motivation, it's the fact that I'm I'm bringing light like you said, um to people that are still in darkness, and those could even be christians that just haven't started running with their um, with their assignment right. So that's what keeps me motivated yeah, man, I like that.

Speaker 1:

I really like that. Now, what does being a new creation, what does mean? What does being a new creation mean to you? As we're reading the scripture, you know all things are passed away. Behold, you're now a new creation.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so what does that mean? Oh, to you, it means to me, it means when I look at and I I do this comparison all the time it it takes me very quickly into a place of gratitude to God. I look at Priscilla in 2017. Priscilla in 2017 was very broken, broken and broke bnb. She was broken and broke and she was just lost. Yeah, she was so lost. She was so lost and she thought she was a particular person. She thought that she was the type of girl that I like to drink, I like to go out. You know, that's who she thought she was. She thought that she didn't like having female friends. Believe it or not, I did not like having female friends.

Speaker 1:

Me, it was, men I was I was like god I'm done with men. And then the enemy said hey, they heard you. You're done with men. Stop giving me girls. Oh wow, I see, yeah, what's that? It was not a, it was not a great journey.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, honestly, yeah, the devil really be where. Uh, he have years. It's like what you said at the beginning, like when you don't know who you are the devil will give you a new identity, like he will present you.

Speaker 1:

You know, god already gave us a. He already gave us a, an identity, and in order for us to know it, it's through his scripture. You know, that's why he always remind me Grace, go to the word.

Speaker 2:

What do I say?

Speaker 1:

You know, that's what, like what the word say. That's who you are Absolutely. And then the devil will add all these like nonsense confusion, you know, yeah, yeah so like yeah, so we really have to be careful with where we want to be. Yeah, Like you know.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, absolutely yeah, no no, we have to be careful and, um, you know so, as I was saying, um, that priscilla was also very not confident in herself and she didn't realize. So just uh, again, um, for context, um, I think a lot of people relate to this. You know you're raised um, especially me. I want to say black, maybe not just african, but in a black of people relate to this. You know you're raised, especially me. I want to say black, maybe not just African, but in a black home people tend to tell you a lot what is wrong about you, yeah, and not so much of what's good about you, yeah, and so I'm teasing uncles.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Yeah, I heard all sorts of things. Your feet are too big. You have big eyes and all of this stuff and then. So what happened was the first and only times I would hear something good about me was from men, and so what?

Speaker 1:

what that was woman. Oh wow, very interesting, very interesting.

Speaker 2:

And so what that made is I started needing attention, um, from men because, and validation from men. So, unless a guy wanted me, I like to me, something was wrong and that's a major identity, like distortion, right there, right, and I and I mentioned earlier, you know, like the walking around naked it was. It was also, you know, that was also the root of it. It was the fact that I feel like, if I'm fully dressed, no, no guy is going to look at me, right, um? So so this is who Priscilla was in a nutshell.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I can't we don't have the time for me to explain everything I wish we had, but being a new creation means there's this identity that the world gave you, that the devil gave you, and then it's almost like you dip, you know, you have something dirty, like you have an object that's like dirty, it has mud on it, and then you put it like in water and you bring it out, and then it's like, like sparkling, shining, clean. So that's what being like a new identity is. It's like you've removed all of those lies, all of those you know, things that you believed, and that's like, oh, this is who I'm actually am. Oh, wow, I'm actually very beautiful. Oh wow, like I'm. I'm loud for a reason because I'm an evangelist, you know, you know, like, oh, wow, like, oh, okay, this is cool, I like this, I like this, you know so this is start exchanging your ashes.

Speaker 1:

I like this, you know. So this is you start exchanging your ashes to beauty. Exactly that's when you meet Christ. You take your ashes and he exchanged it for beauty and all the bad comments you have loud voice, you know. Your voice must be loud. Exactly, exactly, yeah those are beautiful when you're in Christ. Jesus, people, you know, let's stick with Christ Exactly.

Speaker 2:

No, seriously, and you know, for me also, because of my calling, I believe this. This will not just go to Christians, but even to those that haven't met. Christ, yet Right and it's like I have to say, you know, one thing that people that are not in Christ don't have is understanding of why they are the way they are.

Speaker 2:

And I'm actually looking at the camera now, because I know I'm speaking to somebody. So it's like, you know, we're all certain ways and we don't know why we're like that until God, and it's only God that can tell us. You know, he gave me this analogy, amazing analogy. He said only the maker of something can make the manual and can understand how it works. Like only the makers of you know, apple, the makers of MacBook, can say, oh, this is why this button is here, or this is what this button is supposed to do, because they made it.

Speaker 2:

Only God can tell us why you're loud or like why you seem to always be able to to to emphasize or not emphasize, but to empathize with everybody. Like why it seems like you're very emotional all the time you're like only God can explain why, and a lot of people in the world they go get explanation at the wrong places, and now people say things like adhd, multi-personality disorder. You know that's the world's way of explaining what they can't actually explain. But only in christ can you understand the way you are, and this is the whole point of this conversation about identity right, yes, this, this is the whole conversation.

Speaker 1:

This is the point of the word became flesh. Right, put the word um, apply the word and let the word become flesh now. Now can you walk us through a moment where you truly felt god was reshaping your identity, like you know, like a moment when you're like aha, you say 2024, but what words god released, speak to you and that shift your mind and that said oh, okay, is that Priscilla? You know?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, okay. So, um, this year I mean I have many instances. I'll share one Um, this year, beginning of this year, I don't know, god seems to always give me a direction at the beginning of the year. So, beginning of this year, I had a dream, and in that dream we were at war, like we're in a war zone. We're in a war zone and then there were bombs dropping from everywhere and I was just like running, running, running, running. And then at some point I was like God, like what's this? Like, why are we running away from bombs? Like what's this? What's going on Right?

Speaker 2:

And then, immediately after I said that it's almost like I had an idea of like what to do, and I think I remember um, kind of like gathering people and I said, okay, let's do this, we're gonna. Okay, yes, so we, I, I got an idea of how to defeat the enemies that were bombing us in the dream. So I was like, okay, this is what we're gonna do. It's almost like a light. My eyes just opened after I cried out to god and then I said, okay, so let's do this, let's do this.

Speaker 2:

So I devised a plan and then I led people to like, um, pretty much, um, not just run away, but like, literally like, took over the enemies in the, in the, in the of war. And so when I woke up from that dream, I immediately was like you know what's going on? Like, what was this dream about? And the lord told me that if this year, and really the season that I'm in right now, and my assignment is that one of pretty much leading people out of something right, leading people out of something, so then because you know how god be he'll, he'll drop something and then he. You won't necessarily get the full explanation right away, sometimes it's like months years down the line.

Speaker 1:

He gives you a little ship of vision, but there's no. He's taking you somewhere great yeah, you just gotta put faith into it, trust into it, walk into faith, because scripture said um, what's the scripture? Faith is substance of things that we don't see. Yeah, so yeah exactly. He'll just give you a little. He'll give you a little bit.

Speaker 2:

So it wasn't until like later in the month, especially um. I forget it, it was either the theme of the month of January that even confirmed that even more. And I remember also, I listened to, I was led to watch um. And I remember also, I listened to, I was led to watch um, the video of um, what's that song now Um, what's the name? Of the song I forget.

Speaker 1:

Um, that's Victoria, by the way.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, so, and then, um, apparently the video wasn't always like that, but if you watch the video now, it's actually people at war, they're at war. So like the Lord was just showing me okay, okay, like literally, and eventually he, he looped us, he closed the loop by showing me the influencer assignment. That's when I, I, everything connected that, oh, okay, so I'm supposed to post more. And how did I even get there? Um, you know, I became a home ambassador, which I didn't even want to begin with. I was low-key, fighting it.

Speaker 1:

I was literally Hold on, hold on, hold on. I'd say it's lots of the people who doesn't know home. When you say home, you're talking about your house. No, that's a good point.

Speaker 2:

That's a good point. Home is hour of meditation, which is led by the head homie, apostle emmanuel, dr. Emmanuel adeusi, yes, so I was approached to become a home ambassador. Mind you, at the time I didn't used to post like that. I would post once in the blue moon like some content that's fun, but like once in the blue moon. And so when they approach me and they're talking about you gotta post once a week, I'm like do they not know my life do they not know how busy I am?

Speaker 1:

like, how dare they? Sometimes I look at you, I say god, how does she have time?

Speaker 2:

for all that and you're doing so excellent like you're really doing excellent as a mom you know, oh my god, how did she does yeah it's great, it's great but yeah, so I was.

Speaker 1:

I am drowning, into that grace.

Speaker 2:

Tap into it, tap into it I was, yeah, I was like I can't believe these people are expecting me to post once a week. But and I fought it. But then eventually I said you know what, like I was chosen to do this, so let me just do it.

Speaker 2:

And then, when I honored it, that's when the dust started, you know, like connecting yeah, obedience, it opened more grace it opened door to more grace better than sacrifice yeah, yeah, yeah, it opened door to more grace and that's when everything came together, that oh, um, and also a conversation that I had with someone who was selling me my type. She was saying you know, your evangelism is different. Evangelism is more of through your lifestyle, and people watch you. And someone had said the same thing around the same time and you know the bible says me it was the moses bliss counselor.

Speaker 1:

I see you. I did not know you. I was. The wings came off.

Speaker 2:

I said let's go, my sister yeah, but yeah, so literally just by being myself and showing to the world who I am, what I believe. So that's when all the dots connected. So that was the major encounter so far. Not the major. Yeah, it was a one of the major encounters, um, that I've had recently about my identity. It's the one of influencing others to, to to reach their full potential in Christ. So that's how it came about.

Speaker 1:

And it's very fresh, very, very fresh. Amazing. I love it, I love it. I love it. I love it. I really do love it. Okay, so many people struggling with knowing their purpose, how did you describe your purpose in Christ, your purpose in Christ and um your, your purpose? Just knowing as the, as the ceo that you are? Like first of all, um your worship leader, right, how, like, okay, you say you don't, you you're not an artist anymore. Like, okay, yeah, take us back oh why you're not an artist anymore?

Speaker 1:

because you have good music. Yes, so I? How did you describe that purpose that? Oh, I'm not meant to do this.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so yeah. So pretty much going back to what I was saying on the thug of worth doing both at the same time and how it was an issue, and then aposemanu said that I wasn't supposed to do the the two at the same time, and then then I thought that he just meant, like seasons, that okay, right now it's the ceo season, but then the artist, there's gonna be an artist season, right. So I never detached myself from the vision, from the passion, because when I say I really enjoy not just listening to music but even making music right as a producer and all of that I used to yeah, I used to enjoy all of that right.

Speaker 2:

So to me it didn't make sense that god would tell me to drop that. Yeah. But then god asked me, where did that even come from? And I was like, oh, I don't know, like where did it come from?

Speaker 1:

you just wanted to be in the artist world it.

Speaker 2:

It started very young, uh, but it wasn't from him. Yeah, it wasn't from him, but then because I exposed myself to it and really, when you behold, you can become whatever, right. So it it's not because you're passionate about something, especially if it's you actually expose yourself to it yourself, like you can become passionate it. But it doesn't mean it's God. And so that's what God was telling me, that, yeah, like you expose yourself to it, you expose it Like it's okay to be able to sing, like there are so many people that have amazing voices that are not singers. Right, it's okay to be able to sing, but it doesn't mean that that's what I want for you. And so I was like, okay, sounds good. Um, so what do I do? And then I felt led to part ways with all my music equipment, so I got rid of everything.

Speaker 1:

Speakers, mic interface everything Did you send it.

Speaker 2:

No, I gave it away, I gave it away.

Speaker 1:

So you gave it the whole, the whole studio set. The whole studio set Was a donation, yeah, to somebody else's destiny. Yeah, I studio set was a donation, yeah, I guess somebody's else destiny. Yeah, I like that somebody else. Yeah, now, um, talk to us about your business. You know um, because you, how you help small business, you know with with ai right how did you find purpose in that? Like what? What motivate you to pursue that?

Speaker 2:

yeah, absolutely so. It's uh again, everything is a journey. Um, I was in business school and I took this class called strategic management and then I realized early in that class that the amazons, the walmarts of the world didn't just wake up one day successful. They actually plan to be successful and pursue that. So that that's when I realized that wait a minute so you tell me that any company can become successful. They just have to do the right thing. So that lit a bulb in my head and I knew right then that I wanted to be in consulting. But then I thought I wanted to be consulting in the big fours, you know, and the Deloitte's and KPMG and all of that.

Speaker 2:

But what made me realize that not only I didn't want to consult in the big fours, but I actually wanted to work with small businesses, was one day and actually you know I tell this story a lot but I don't think this person actually knows but one day I was, I overheard a conversation between a business, a small business owner, and her client, and she was being very candid and said you know what? I actually don't know how to price my stuff, I go by vibes and I said, no, oh my goodness, what did you just say? Because to me it's like I literally just learned this in school and then someone is telling me they're going by vibes. That means they're not planning to be successful. So to me, that stood up. I was shocked and I talked to her and I said wait, no, you can't do this. You have to plan, like what's going on, you know. And then that's when I realized that, oh, I see, so there are many business owners who are very, very passionate and they're really good at what they do, but they don't have that business background, they don't have a business acumen. So when it comes to actually managing their business, they're really pretty much doing whatever. And that's when I knew I knew right there, right then, that I want to help small businesses. So that was 2021.

Speaker 2:

I took it to Apostle and I said, yep, this is what I want to do. And Apostle said but not now. And I said what do you mean not now? I said what do you mean that now? But yeah, it wasn't the time then. Um, but fast forward to um 2022, my co-founder, um, you know, she approached me and then we had a conversation and turns out we had a similar interest in, you know, helping small businesses.

Speaker 2:

And that's where, at the time, just scaled, just scaled, first um started and then we had just scaled, just scaled, first um started and then we had, you know, we had been hearing about ai and you know how it's, it's, it's potential, and we knew that, okay, maybe we should also delve ourselves into that. And so we, you know, uh, we, we, um, we believe a lot about being under spiritual authority. So a lot of what we do, if not not everything, especially major decisions, we always take it to a puzzle. And then, you know, he said that, yeah, like this is really great, we should be, you know, getting into the AI world. So that's when we became Scaled AI. And the joke behind the joke with that is for about two years we did nothing that had to do with AI. We did nothing that had to do with AI. But I say we did nothing that had.

Speaker 1:

But the vision was just there.

Speaker 2:

The vision was there, the vision was there. We knew we're supposed to do something with ai we just because we, neither of us, had um tech backgrounds, so we knew we wanted. We wanted to, like, help businesses um implement it, but we didn't exactly know how. So we started with grant writing. We did all of these services to just really, you know, um put our you know, get our feet wet into the market and all of that stuff um, and then we then got the idea of coming up with an ai app, but, um, at the time we're told to shelve it and I'm very happy to say that now, today, actually, actually we have the first prototype of the app. Hey, yeah, we have the first prototype.

Speaker 1:

Hey, can't wait for that app.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I cannot wait myself.

Speaker 1:

I'm very excited. Yeah, I see how God is good. Now you talk so much about this person apostle, apostle. People out there here say who is this apostle? That's true, Exactly, Exactly. So to me, like I emphasize uh, I emphasize a lot about spiritual authority. So who's apostle? To you like that you always have to get apostle, yeah like, and how did you know that he was your spiritual father?

Speaker 2:

that's a really good question, um, because I I was raised in, like my parents, christian church goers, but we I wasn't raised around the whole concept of spiritual authority. So apostle emmanuel adeusi is the lead pastor of cornerstone christian church and in 2020.

Speaker 2:

I gave my life to and so privileged that even then he had more capacity to have more conversations with, you know, with us. And so as soon as I gave my life to Christ and started attending, I had to, I was privileged to have a few conversations here and there with him and right then he literally became a mentor, unofficially, but he became a mentor to me because I was able to bring um some so many anything really to him and you know that guidance you know.

Speaker 2:

So he brought guidance, he brought love, um, so many things. You know, when I I got pregnant and all of that, I remember the warmth with which, you know, he surrounded me and he made sure that everybody else at church surrounded me with, you know so. So I'm explaining it this way because it's you know, we choose to make someone an authority over us, right, it's a decision at the end of the day, like he's, he's not forcing himself on anybody, and so it was just realizing what he did and what he's been doing in my life and what he represents, like I really need an answer from God. I seem not to be getting it and I can go to him and either he will help me intercede or give me the answer, and all of that. So you know, it didn't take long after I gave my life to Christ to realize that when I first heard the concept of spiritual authority, that's when I was like, oh yeah, I do see him as that. He is my spiritual father. So that's who he is and that's how he became.

Speaker 1:

Amen, amen. I really love that saying like, I can sit down here with my sister Priscilla. We can go on and on and on, but I want to encourage you guys, as we're just wrapping up, right, I just want to encourage you guys. As I know, most of you guys heard my story how I lost my identity, how I lost my faith, you know. And now you guys heard the one and the only one my sister, priscilla, ceo, you know. So I want to encourage you guys that there's still hope. I mean, as long as our King has not come, you know, as long as Jesus has not come, there's still hope for you to find your identity. So, if you're once like me, or you were once like Priscilla, you know, because right now we're carrying the light of Christ. So, if you're like me, you're once like Priscilla, and you can't seem to find yourself, you can't seem to find who do I stand with? Do I stand with Jesus? Do I stand with the word? You know. But I want to encourage you to come to the light. Okay, okay, I want to encourage you. Come, rise and shine. Your light has come. Okay, god has seen you, your glory is here. So, just um, I'm I'm gonna ask prisola. First of all, you already, we already, we already told you guys where we worship right, where we go, where we worship cornerstone, christian church of god. Um priscilla, talk about meditation. We have all the, all this is available for you. But if you don't want to be part of cornerstone and you don't have a church, I encourage you. It's time to go back to church, you know. Encourage you, exchange your beauty into ashes. So, and if you're ready to do that with me and say, hey, I want to take, I want to take this broken, want to take this brokenness, you know, this brokenness of hating church, of hating minister and me, go back to Christ. I encourage you to say this simple prayer with me and once you say the prayer with me, don't sit on the couch. Don't sit on the couch, don't let just a prayer here into your head. Go back to church. You hear, go back to church. So I want to close up with this simple prayer as we're wrapping up, if you can just simply say Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you are the son of God and I believe you died for me on the cross of Calvary. I know I am a sinner and today I come to you as to accept you as my personal Lord and Savior and to make me a brand new creation. I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my life. So, if you say that, prayer, congratulations. Okay, we get ready to wrap up. Church hurts, you know, and let's go back into the Christ kingdom, okay, and be the bride of Christ. God bless you. See you End of June, july, no, july, yes, july, july, july.
