it depends on what you call marauding. I mean, I took this trip back to the East Coast with my kids, and we basically saw every friend that we wanted to see. I mean, not everybody because some people were away, but we packed in so much on this trip. We were there for two weeks, and so I feel like that was marauding in a sense that we really were able to catch up with people. I went downtown to Seattle to watch, you know, we watched Josh Johnson, the comedian. So that was kind of, you know, I remember this is kind of as you get older, sometimes when you have an evening engagement or you have to go into the city, it's kind of like, you know, there's a part of you that's like, I just want to stay home. But then when you do it, you're happy that you did it and you feel like, you know, you accomplished something. thing you know I think you and I have talked about that before so I would say that's marauding and you know there's some other little things that I've done but mostly I would say those two are some big things just kind of still continuing to go out and although you know when we went out it was like a 4 p.m. show so we're kind of excited about that exactly like we're I wonder if we're getting towards those you know I got to go to the five o'clock you know go to the buffet Oh, no, no,

no, don't say that. golf tournament in Maryland. It's one of the PGA kind of like end of the season tournaments.

Had you never been to a tournament? Is this your first one?

This is my first PGA tournament. I've been to a couple live golf events, but this is like the kind of the semifinals of the year-end kind of championship. And it was right out side of Baltimore. I had a couple of friends that said, hey, you want to go? I got a ticket for you and all the other good stuff. It was super cool. It was like VIP access. We can go to any of the hospitality tents. It was all you could eat, all you could drink.

Yeah, the VIP. And I wore that out. I ate and drank everything that I could. But the kicker was, you know, obviously if it's a golf event, it's during the day. So we had to wake up super early, drive all the way out to Baltimore. And, you know, we started, you know, we watched golf, obviously, but a lot of time was spent in the hospitality team. But they had like a Casamigos bar there. Oh, nice.

So it was about the whole experience, not just watching the golf, right?

Not just watching. Yeah, I could care less about the golf. But it was good golf to watch. You know, you got to see like Scotty Shuffler and all the good guys over there.

blah. So these are the same people, like one group went from one place to another? Okay.

Correct, correct. And, you know, it was around like six, seven o'clock and I was like, I am really, really tired. I'm just not built for that anymore. You know, I love a good day park. But when you start at 7.30, that's a little bit too much. So we wound up driving back and they begged me to go out to a bar for a couple of cocktails. And I had like one beer and I was

But it was something that the reason why I would say it's marauding is because, you know, 10 years ago, five years ago, I wouldn't have done that. I don't have a golf tournament. You know, are you kidding me? That's no fun. But since I've become obsessed with golf and I enjoy a good day party as opposed to an evening party now, you know, plus it being VIP, who am I to turn that down?

Midlife. I'm sorry. Dominion Road. I tell you, Max, that was something that when we first talked about it, we agonized over it. And that was one that was

thrown out there. It's like old Dominion, like Virginia.

Well, no, Dominion Road is, okay, when we lived with each other after UVA, we lived on Dominion Road in Virginia. So that's where that name comes from. We had a house there. And that was thrown out early. as far as the names. And at first, I didn't like it. I didn't like it one bit, to be honest with you. It had some sort of religious connotations, and I'm not speaking against

religion. It makes me think of like a brewing company or something. Oh. Old Dominion Brewing Company. Yeah, yeah,

yeah. Well, everything in Virginia is kind of Dominion anyway. Yeah. You know, the old Dominion State. But I didn't really care for it. But when we were bantering around like names and stuff, it just seemed to fit because because that was kind of like, you know, where we all were in one place together and we all had, you know, shared experiences and that sort of thing. So it grew on me. And then we just decided to go with that name.

Well, I really feel like that is like the good example of marauding, you know, in midlife because you guys just decided all of a sudden. And you really are put, you know, I listened to the first two episodes and you guys, I mean, I love all the laughter and the jokes and the Right. You guys are already naturals, I think.

Well, thank you. I'm not going to lie to you, Max. We had a couple of practice episodes that were not very good. Yeah. It took the guys to, it took a couple of episodes for all of us to get comfortable. Like for me, you know, like doing this podcast, you know, I'm already like sharing my life, my stories, you know, being somewhat vulnerable on here. But for them, it was, they had to get used to a little bit more, get more comfortable.

And my advice to them is like, I don't really care if the people like it or not. I just want them to listen and watch. Even the haters will listen and watch. You know what I mean? So we're trying to get views. We're trying to get subscribers and likes just as we are on this podcast. And we want to entertain and make good content and obviously please as many people as possible. But in the end, you want to have a product that people want to come back to and and watch and listen. And, you know, obviously we're not trying to offend anybody. But for, you know, for them, you know, they're thinking about their families, you know, their wives,

But I guess, you know, people like, you know, I read some of, you know, some people were crying, you know, just like, like, like, I don't even know these people, but I'm so happy for them, you know, I mean, because the fans are just, you know, so in to the relationship and they just love Taylor Swift, right? The Swifties. So it's interesting, right? And I think it's one of these things that we have so much bad news these days. So just having something that's kind of positive, you know, and hopeful and, you know, it's kind of, it's like the fairy tale, right? And so it's kind of fun. You know, some people are saying this is like the U.S. royal wedding. Oh, okay. What? They're saying it's like the U.S.? Like the American royal wedding. I mean, think about how popular she is, you know, how popular Taylor Swift is. And then you've got a chief, you know, so. Okay.

And, you know, he basically said that he's finding it difficult or can't go to a movie anymore because these kind of issues are coming up in like kid movies. And he's like, I can't even go to the movies anymore. And that, that like was controversial, you know, against the LGBTQ community and all that other good stuff. He shouldn't have said that, but I do find, you know, I try to put myself in that position as well. Like how, how would I explain to a kid that we're, you know, we're watching an animated movie, you know, and there's, two mothers, two women that have a son. I wouldn't want to have that discussion with a little kid like that. We're trying to watch this children's movie. I kind of

So I think it just shows that some people our age are still I don't want to say old school but you know he was in the movie old school wasn't he but I just think there's different beliefs right belief systems you know he's getting people are mad because he supported Trump or he went you know and performed at the inauguration so you know there's this whole is he MAGA is he right wing is he whatever you know like is he more conservative so if that's what he believes then that tracks right I mean I think what's sad is that he couldn't just say to his grandson, hey, let's talk about it later, and then maybe he could educate himself a bit, you know, and kind of come up with a better answer than like, oh, no, you know, come on.

If you think about, take away the same sex part, think about, like you're saying, interracial. There was a time where you couldn't marry somebody outside of your race. Correct. Would you say if there was a movie about that and a kid's movie and like me and my husband, my husband's white and we're kissing, that should be like banned, you know? So it's the same to me, it's the same thing. And to me, the more that they, and this is, you know, we earlier, we were talking about the Sydney Sweeney thing is that people want to see more of what they look like on TV and ads. And I think, you know, advertising companies maybe have gone the other way. I think the pendulum swang, swung, you know, but I think as a person of color, or if you were, um, I think it would be kind of reassuring and comforting that we're seeing this on TV and then we see people like us. I

I mean, almost every ad that I see is some sort of mixed race or a homosexual couple. And again, I'm not knocking any of that. It's just like, all right, but where are we getting away from... Black love or white love, whatever we call it, Asian love, whatever. Yeah, it's

I think you have to decide for yourself. You know, I think, you know, it's easy to be influenced by what we see on TV and advertising. That's the whole thing about advertising. But I remember there was an article in the New York Times about these Black date nights, right? Where you would go to meet other Black people. And, you know, it was only for black people. So that's kind of what you're saying that you kind of want to bring that back. Um, and I get that, you know, I mean, I went on this thing called the love boat. Uh, it's called the love boat, but it's actually called, it's actually a study tour in Taiwan that people knew that they would send their kids on the love boat so that they can meet other Taiwanese Americans. Right. So there's a desire on the parents part to keep, you know, I don't know, to not have interracial marriage or dating. But love is love, Will.

Love is love. And again, I just want to be very clear that I'm all supportive of that. And again, these people of these elder generations, they're not knocking interracial couples. It's just like, okay, but we're just, it's almost like grandstanding them. Like, okay, is there something wrong with a black couple or, you know, a same race couple.
