00:00 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Hey everyone. I'm Judy and I'm Jodi. Thank you for being here. Welcome to In your Head. With Jodi and Judy, we are wrapping up a series. Today we are wrapping up the energy leadership discussion we've been having for the last, I think, seven episodes. We thought today we'd kind of wrap everything up together and kind of bring it all together and summarize in this last episode, and so this is what we're going to do. So, as a recap, what is energy leadership? We've been talking about for seven episodes, but in a nutshell, how I see it is, energy leadership is really about mindset. It's how we show up in response to stressful situations in life and also how we just show up in general right. It's about learning how to understand your energy, so then you can do something about it. You can then use it, and that's where the transformation is with this and it's just a really. The ELI is just a really great tool for that. What else would you say about that?

01:07 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Well, what I think is also interesting is I think we described it when we first started this energy is kind of the root of what's happening in a room. So when you walk in, so when we talk about energy leadership, what we're referring to is really you learning how to lead your own energy. So in order to do that, you have to learn what kind of energy you're showing up at, get some awareness around your energy level. So when we say it's what's happening in the room, it's how do people show up and how are, how are they impacting everybody else?

01:39 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
So if you can learn that about yourself.

01:41 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
You learn that. You learn how to change your own energy to be more positive and to make things more effective.

01:49 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
So I also like it because you can learn where other people are, so it helps your own communication with others right. When you understand these levels, you can then communicate with others much better and have greater understanding as well. This tool was developed by Bruce Schneider. He's written a book on it, and this is based in science and overlaps a lot with the content that is in the positive intelligence program that we talked about previously, previous to this series. Both are based in science, so there's a great deal of overlap, and that's why we just love both of these programs a lot. So should we break each level briefly and talk about them?

02:27 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, let's just do a quick reminder. And just first reminder is that these are categorized levels. So there are two types of energy. One is catabolic, one is anabolic. Catabolic is the more destructive level of energy and there's really only two of those. And then the rest are all considered anabolic. They're much more constructive. Where they're actually building up, they're more positive. So let's talk real quick about level one. This was the very first one we talked about. It's catabolic all the way. It is the victim mentality. So it's when you're kind of thinking, you feel powerless, you're hopeless, you feel like the victim of circumstances. There's definitely the emotions of helplessness and despair and fear. All of those things would be considered level one victim. Typically, when we're in this level, we tend to be inactive. We don't really take action. There's a lot of passivity and avoidance around things.

03:27 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
And what?

03:27 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
happens is things stagnate and we become very dissatisfied and there's a real lack of progress.

03:34 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Yeah, now I can think of a lot of times when you know we say bad stuff happens in life and you know we think about like breakups. You know I can think of boyfriend breakups in my early life where I felt kind of like just want to kind of lay on the bed and do nothing. That was level one victim. I mean it's a normal place to go when things are super challenging. It's a good place to go for a certain period of time just to kind of recover, to kind of recover. But the trick is we don't want to stay in this because it's going to lead to depression and all kinds of you know lack of motivation, all of that. So it's a good place to go for recovery and a good place to get out of when you're ready.

04:13 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, the downside is when you stay there for an extended period of time just because you're almost paralyzed with fear or there's a real discomfort, or just you start to learn helplessness. You can stay in that and that's where it becomes completely ineffective. But you're right, there are times when it can be very helpful to go there.

04:32 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Yep. And then we have level two, which is categorized as conflict. This is sort of the anger level, if you will. The core thought is I'm right and you're wrong. Right, you have an adversarial mindset. I can think of some former bosses I've had, who shall remain nameless, who lived in this level. Core actions are blaming, arguing, criticizing.

04:58
The results are well conflict, right, breakdowns in communication and relationships. Really, how can you collaborate with someone who's coming at you with that energy? They're not even able to listen. It's their way, or the highway pretty much at that point. So what you'll hear and observe on a personal level? You'll hear frequent arguments between people, irritability, defensiveness. At work, you might experience a tension in the air, difficulty accepting others viewpoints, those confrontations people who are really confrontational tend to go to this energy level more quickly, perhaps, than others. The good thing about it is that in this energy, if there's a crisis happening or we're in chaos with something, someone who can take charge and dictate who does what, get things done kind of, is a good thing to avert a chaos or get out of a crisis situation, right yeah.

05:57 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, I always. I feel that level is definitely characterized by us versus them thinking.

06:02 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
You know to bottom line by us, versus them thinking, you know, to bottom line.

06:05 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Then level three is more of a courageous level and again it is. This is kind of the bridge to the anabolic, so there's a little bit of catabolic in it but it's starting to get a little bit more anabolic and we actually the core thoughts that come along with level three are just acknowledging that there are challenges. So you know things aren't right, you still feel like something's missing, but you take a little bit more, you put a little more effort into it. You know you actually are able to make yourself do things. Emotions around it are just a level of determination.

06:39
Also some dissatisfaction because you know things aren't quite right, but you have a willingness to move forward, even though tend to be very proactive, but only to a certain extent. So there's kind of a controlled amount of effort being put in. The results of this type of energy is more of an effortful progress. So you will make progress but only through the effort and because of that the energy can kind of plateau because if you don't shift your mindset, that's just exhausting to constantly have to put the effort in. So and if you're to listen to this, if on a personal level you might hear some real persistence with someone, but there's a frustration with a lack of deep fulfillment. So does that make sense? Like?

07:26
you're working really hard, you're putting in that effort, but you can definitely sense that there's a lack of fulfillment because they're just putting in.

07:33 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
They're putting in the effort and they're trying really hard. Yeah, exactly, they're just. They're just doing it to get it done, not because they believe in it, maybe, or whatever. The frustration is.

07:43 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Right, yeah. And then professionally, there's definitely a motivation to succeed, but there's a little bit of limited creativity and innovation because, again, it's not quite right. They're, they're, they're doing their best to make it right and put that effort in. So I think, people, when you get to this level, you are doing, you know you're doing pretty well, but there's a lack of alignment between your purpose and that inner drive that's really going to push you further so you kind of almost tolerate things that are happening in the moment, which can be a good thing, but you certainly don't want to always be tolerating.

08:18 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Right, there's many times it's important to tolerate in the moment, just to get through it. I mean, I, many years ago, I started saying, well, it is what it is and that's classic. Level three right, just tolerate it, move forward and move on. Right, but as long as, like you said, we're coming back to making sure that what we're doing overall is more in alignment with our purpose and vision and drive and all of that. Those are the things that we want in our life. But we're always going to have level three at some level, just to move on. Then we come to level four.

08:50
Level four is about commitment. This is about commitment to ourselves, commitment to others and commitment to our work and what we want in our lives. Core thoughts about level four, when you're in level four, are I'm focused and committed to the outcome I want. That outcome may be for yourself or maybe for others, right? Core emotions are passion feeling really passionate about what you're doing, enthusiastic feeling that enthusiasm and a high level of engagement. Core actions we feel fully engaged, we're striving for that high performance and we have a lot of perseverance, knowing that we're going to get there. Results are that we achieve results, you know, with alignment, satisfaction and purpose. So this is a great energy.

09:44
Personally, you might have feelings that you feel really connected to goals and there's joy and purpose in life, joy in the progress of getting to where you want to go. Professional, you might experience a lot of productive collaborations with others. There might be a lot of enthusiasm for projects and problem solving. This is a really cool energy to be in and I actually find myself in this energy a lot. My resonating, if you will, level of energy is level four, and I think that one of the drawbacks that I recognize in myself is that I can get tunnel vision on this commitment. I get, you know, really myopic about what I'm working on and what I'm doing, so much so that I can lose sight of the other opportunities that are floating by me and that I lose sight of, and so I really have to work on understanding that for myself so that I can open up to other energy levels.

10:40 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, but because you are so proactive when you're in this level, it's a sweet spot for high performance. Yeah, you know it's a great place to be. Yeah, level five is again much higher on the anabolic scale. It is about optimism and just seeing opportunity in everything. So when you're in this level, you're thinking anything's possible. If I set my mind to it, I can do it. There's a lot of hope and confidence and just belief in abundance, and you take bold action. You set very ambitious goals and because of that, the results are very positive. They're forward-moving outcomes with creativity and resourcefulness. If you're listening for this, what you might hear in people on a personal level is just excitement about possibilities and a real focus on solutions. And on a professional level, there's a real ability for someone to inspire their team to really seek out opportunities and then embrace new challenges, because they don't necessarily see things as a challenge. They see it as an opportunity.

11:44 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Yeah.

11:45 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, so really at this level, people are typically optimistic and energetic, but it can also sometimes come across as overly idealistic. So the key really is to try to move into even a deeper level of focus and strategic thinking.

12:02 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Yeah, I love this level too, because to me, it represents the level of opportunity and being able to seize on that, because you're so tuned in to to grabbing opportunity that you can more easily see it. Yeah, totally, what's your level? Resonating level Is it? Is it five?

12:22 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
No, I'm more. I resonate more at four, at four.

12:25 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Although.

12:25 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
I do have a lot of five because I tend to always see. I see too many possibilities and too many opportunities. And that can be a downside, because I can never. It makes me a little indecisive, but that's, you know, that's all part of it and not all a bad thing. But yeah, I think I resonate mostly at four, but probably pressing into five quite a bit.

12:46
I also have a lot of that level one, that victim but I'm very good at recognizing when I go there and shifting myself out of it, I take advantage of it. There are times, like you said, everything has the positive. So when you go into that victim like it's a nice place, sometimes we just need to be there because that's how we take care of ourselves, you know, but I can shift out of it pretty quickly.

13:09 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
I find as I get older, I tip into level two more than I ever used to. I get angry a little bit faster than when I was younger, and more accepting of things. I don't know why that is, but saying something probably not so nice about myself, but I have noticed the changes. I think sometimes I get impatient in that level two, but I digress, let's move on. So level six is where we are, and this one is all about power. So the core thoughts here are I'm in control of my life and actions. So we're not saying control as in I must control everything, but I feel in control right, and core emotions are the feelings of confidence, peacefulness and empowerment that come from that.

13:55
The actions that we're taking at this level include acting with intention. We're able to strategically make decisions, and this is also an area for authentic leadership, whether we're leading ourselves or leading others. Results are high effectiveness, influence and fulfillment and clarity. We have increase of all those things at this level and what you might observe in your personal life is that feeling of that sense of control, that calm energy and that inner peace. When I just say those words, I think, gosh, I want more of that, right, there's so much benefit to accessing this level of energy.

14:35
On the professional side, level six might look like respected leadership, being decisive and actually being able to really clearly communicate. Those are some of the characteristics that might come out on the professional side with level six energy. This level really represents strong leadership. As we've said, people here generally have a high sense of purpose, they know where they're going, they know how they're going to get there and they want everyone there with them and they expect that everyone's on the same page as well. I would say one drawback to this energy level, if we're in it for too long, is that there might be a lack of urgency in decisions that we're making because we're so wrapped up in the idea that we're setting strategy around it. So I would say that was one possible drawback. What do you think, jodi?

15:27 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, I think when you're in this level, you're just really in the flow.

15:31 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
It's about the flow and it's about my intuition and even though you can be very decisive.

15:37 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
It could lead to lack of decisiveness and a lack of urgency.

15:43
And that can be kind of frustrating if you're in a really fast paced environment. But yeah, there's few drawbacks to level six. I think it's just it's a really powerful place to be Hence to level six. I think it's just it's a really powerful place to be Hence. That's why it's a power level. Okay.

15:58
Moving on to the last level, level seven, this is really about pure energy, like from the source. It's being aligned with your highest purpose and just feeling aligned with the universe. It's all about peace and joy and love and feeling a connection to everybody and everything. There's effortless action, so you almost feel like you're inspired by others. You co-create with everybody. It results in exceptional outcomes that impact others' positivity and that makes you feel deeply and it makes other people feel deeply fulfilled. So it's it's just really all high level. It's kind of esoteric, very With when personally you definitely have a really deep level of satisfaction and because you feel like you're living with alignment and with purpose and professionally it's a really inspiring way to lead. It elevates kind of that collective transformational leadership among people.

17:01 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Yeah.

17:02 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, so yeah, anything else you have to say about this one, judy?

17:06 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Well, I would say gosh, it's almost like nothing bothers you at this level. There is no challenge great enough to bother you when you're here. We're not here very often most of us Maybe monks get here more often through meditation but we're not transcending into level seven. We don't stay there for a long time because it would be really hard to stay there as a human being, but it's almost like just being one with everything, if you can imagine that. Just one with nature and with other people and the universe.

17:33
It's very esoteric. It's almost like just being one with everything. If you can imagine that. Just one with nature and with other people and the universe. It's very esoteric. It's a very cool place to be, but we can't stay there, like I said, and we shouldn't stay there because we're not going to get as much done in level seven and we can come off as very aloof and out of touch with other people. Right, we often are kumbaya la la land and not here other people. Right, we often, you know, are kumbaya la la land and not here on earth. Right?

17:57
But, this is a very cool place to be to experience that full energy, connection and joy.

18:05 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, so it's rare because it is so profound, I think, yeah, yeah, let's move on to kind of how the different levels interact and influence we also move around based on our self-awareness.

18:20 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Once we learn about these levels, we can then opt to try out a different level you know, in real time even.

18:42 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
I just was going to throw something else in there, because I think one of the things that you kind of learn about as you gain the self-awareness is just understanding that your energy level is in response to things right. So there's external and internal triggers, like things that stress us out. You know, and being aware of that as you go into situations helps you better understand where you are and helps you avoid certain things. If you know certain things bring you down, it's an external influence that you know is going to take you down. You know there's ways to manage it better the more you understand that. Yeah absolutely.

19:20 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
We can get stuck in lower levels too, based on habits we've formed, past experiences and how we've responded to those things, and it just becomes kind of a repeating pattern, which is another great reason why we want to bring awareness and why this is a great tool for human beings, right for all of us to understand so that we can shift. So we're going to be talking about that in a little bit as well. So, as we're talking about the interplay of these levels, we have a few examples that we can help hopefully, you know, help shine a light on what we're talking about with all these, you know, moving in between energy levels. So the first example is about professional versus personal life, and so I don't know if you want to do this scenario, would you like me to jump in and do it?

20:03 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, I can do this. So it is. It's common to experience multiple energy levels in different areas of your life. So that's personally and professionally. So at the same time you can be experiencing two different energy levels, right?

20:15
So the first one would be let's think about the person who is at level five. When they work, they go to work their professional life. They're confident, they're inspired, always seeking new opportunities. However, in their personal life, they're stuck in a level two. There's some conflict. They have a lot of tension and unresolved issues in their relationships.

20:36
So if you look at how these interplay, the person's thriving in their career but struggling at home, where they're reacting with anger or frustration in personal situations. And in the workplace they're seen as an inspiring leader, but at home they might be defensive or argumentative with family members. So there's just such a difference in each one of those situations. So there's strategy for trying to move between those levels, because it's hard to go from one to the next just instantaneously. So you could practice your emotional regulation techniques like the mindfulness or the reframing of situations. That helps to raise the personal energy level up. So if you're at that two and you start trying to reframe the situation, you can slowly move yourself up to a three or even a four and that helps you kind of approach the home dynamics with more patience or focus or compassion. Yeah, that's a good example.

21:30 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
That makes sense? Yeah, because sometimes we react to situations in different environments very differently. Yeah, there's also a scenario where a leader may be in that level six, that power level. When making a decision or addressing a team issue, they might demonstrate that calmness and clarity, but during a stressful, urgent moment they might momentarily fall into level two, conflict, and get angry about something. Or they might feel overwhelmed and defensive when confronted with a difficult question or some opposition to what they're rolling out. And so that's an example of a leader moving from level six to level two under pressure. Leader moving from level six to level two under pressure. So the strategy for moving between that level is the leader can use maybe I don't know grounding techniques, deep breathing.

22:23
I always like that one just to pause and stop the thought we're having and that thought is what's causing us to react in that way, right?

22:30
So pause, realize that we're having a moment and we're in an energy level that's not serving us, and then think about reframing as you mentioned before, jodi, reframing the situation by focusing on the bigger picture, also just thinking about what you know about the energy levels, and realize I'm in level two and this is not how I want to be showing up to my team, what is the outcome I want to get and what energy level and what behavior support that outcome and being able to do that. It's not easy to do that in the moment, but with practice and with awareness, definitely you can. I feel like there's certain situations where I've been able to do that in the moment. In one-on-one conversations, even with my husband, I'm like okay, wait a minute, I'm getting into my level two and I don't want to be there. Nothing is going to happen, right, and so how do I want to approach this? What outcome do I want and what behavior will support that? So, anyhow, an example there.

23:24 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, I think the key takeaway is that emotional fluctuations are just natural, because we all have them all day long we go from one level to the next, but the awareness is what's key to managing the shift. So, if you're not, aware you're not going to be able to manage it. And the whole key, the whole reason we're talking about this is because you want to manage your life effectively.

23:45
You want to be able to show up for people effectively and in the most positive way. And if you aren't aware of how these things are are affecting you and affecting others, you know you're not going to change.

23:55 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
You're not going to change.

23:57 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Change is always possible.

23:58 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Always possible. This is why this is transformational and another episode at some point I feel like these kinds of tools about mindset are kind of the keys to the human experience living a better life, having better outcomes. Because how can we possibly, you know, really transform without this kind of awareness and knowledge? Right?

24:18 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, another scenario might be a person who is going through a career transition and you initially go into that level one victim, overwhelmed, helpless about you know their job prospects.

24:31
But as they start working through the job search they begin to gain kind of that level three, that courage, and they start taking some proactive steps and reaching out for networking opportunities and seeking professional development. So just going through that you can shift yourself. So while initially in the level one, you actually do begin to take the actions towards the level three and it moves you beyond that self-doubt. Yeah, how this might show up is, early on you start you kind of feel stuck, you lack direction, feeling really discouraged. But then later, as that clarity is gained and you start engaging in purposeful steps, the energy just naturally shifts to a higher level.

25:11
This is a time when practices like affirmations and visualization, like visualizing yourself in a new job kind of breaking down the transition process into more manageable steps that can help you move from level one to level three and then eventually, as you get I always say like it's baby steps, but as you start moving forward you naturally start gaining a little momentum and your energy starts to shift, and so it's just a matter of time before your action gets at a higher level.

25:42
So I guess a takeaway on this one might be just that the shift from that passive to active can really dramatically change your outcomes in a transition.

25:52 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Yeah, I love the idea of visualizing. I don't ever really do that as much in my life, but I do know I've learned from a neuroscience perspective. Visualization is great when we think about the outcome we want, but it's even stronger in our brains when we think about the activity and focus on the activity we're doing to get the outcome. So, thinking about networking to get the job or applying the process of applying online to get the outcome I was thinking about networking to get the job or applying the process of applying online to get the job those kinds of things actually dry or even more powerful in the brain. For some reason. I forgot the reason.

26:26
Yeah, but I know there's a neuroscience explanation for that, so that's something that I found was pretty cool. So the key takeaways for the interplay that we're talking about here, these energy levels, is one is fluidity recognizing that energy is fluid and it's possible, as we said, to operate from these multiple levels simultaneously, depending on what's happening in the situation and your mindset. There's also awareness, right, Huge. It's the key really, really to being able to use your energy levels and being able to move between them by option rather than by default, right? What are some others?

27:06 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Developing emotional intelligence. I think you know learning to regulate your emotions and staying aligned with that higher purpose, like not forgetting what it is. Also, I think, making action plans because specific actions to take in each level to raise your energy. You know, just setting a little teeny, having an action plan of attaining a certain level and then setting little specific actions that you know will take you there.

27:32 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Yeah, I love that. Those are great ideas. So let's talk about the key takeaways for what we're talking about here, which is the interplay of energy levels. One of them is fluidity, so recognizing that energy is fluid and it's possible to operate from multiple levels of energy, really depending on your situation or your mindset. There's also that awareness. So awareness is really key. It's the key to moving between levels effectively, right? Because how can we move if we're not aware of where we are in the first place? So awareness is huge. What are some other ones that come to mind?

28:07 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
for you? Well, I think of adaptability. So it's not about staying in one level permanently. It's not like you want to get to a level six or seven and you just want to stay there. It's about being adaptable, so being aware of what each situation requires. So when you're in a one or two, you're in that low level, recognizing in the situation that's not effective. So what can I do to adjust my energy to a level that's going to make me more effective in this situation? That, to me, is a very important takeaway. And then also, I think, intervention. So if you find yourself or others that are stuck in a really low level, identifying what those triggers are and making conscious choices to move to a higher level by reframing the thoughts, trying to regulate yourself a little bit emotionally and then just also seeking support.

28:58 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Yeah, that's a good one. It's important to really, I think, awareness and intervention. You know, it's really important to be able to, to train yourself through those tools, to understand how you can you can do that and to seek the support when you need it. Okay, so, moving between levels, let's talk about that.

29:18 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
So, really, it's your awareness of your energy level that helps you move through the levels effectively. So, again, it's all about that awareness and there are some really great strategies to help you raise your energy level. So we've touched on these, I think. But let's go back over and real quickly. The first one is just reframing your thoughts. So think about how changing your thought can lead to completely new emotions and very different actions. And then practicing self-awareness, so identifying when you're in a lower energy level and then figuring out how do I shift it. So, again, like practicing that self-awareness means thinking about what are those situations, what are those triggers that make me go into those levels one and two, because those usually aren't very effective for long.

30:02 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
So being able to identify what causes that and then also identifying when you're there, what else, Well, like you mentioned, we talked about visualizations, affirmations, those grounding techniques to help you kind of calibrate, recalibrate when you're in a lower energy level, and then a lot of these things that we're talking about really are about emotional intelligence. Self-awareness is one of the factors of emotional intelligence. There are 15 to, I think, 25, depending on which model you use. So learning to regulate emotions and stay aligned with their higher purpose is really what you're teaching yourself when you're practicing the self-awareness piece and practicing this energy level movements. Also, creating an action plan. So the practical, you know logical, creating an action plan to practice this tool, right, specific actions to take at each level to raise your energy. So being, you know, really practical minded can be another strategy to help you move and practice moving between levels.

31:05 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, so I think we've talked about energy for a long time. We've had this is our last episode on this, so you know again. The reason we really focused on this is just because we wanted to highlight how just being able to recognize and shift your energy levels can improve so many things in your life your professional and personal, make you more effective. It really will contribute to more personal fulfillment and I believe it really helps to create a more purposeful and successful life altogether.

31:37 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Yeah, so there's an opportunity here, and that opportunity is to self-reflect, really reflect on where you are on the energy scale in different areas of your life, just thinking how do I show up at work, how do I show up in leadership, in my relationships at home, how am I showing up in my own personal growth? And really look for areas where a shift in energy could result in a positive change. Where are the gaps in your life and what outcomes do you want instead? What behaviors and what energy support that?

32:14 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah. So Judy and I've talked about this and decided we'd kind of put out a call to action here. Both of us work in this energy leadership and would be happy to offer a complimentary session. 33:27 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Okay, let's introduce our new podcast series, which is on mindset and career transition. So, as we wrap up this deep dive into the energy leadership, we're going to completely shift gears and we're going to explore a topic that is at the core of every career transition, which is mindset. So, judy and I both do career coaching and we are experiencing this every single day, and so, whether you're stepping into a new leadership role, maybe you are completely pivoting into a new leadership role maybe you are completely pivoting into a different industry, you might have to be navigating some kind of unexpected shift like a layoff, so, but however you think about that transition can make all the difference right.

34:11 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
Well, yeah, you know we don't want to deviate from mindset at all, because we are so passionate about mindset and how it can transform lives, but it comes up so much in our work in career transition as career coaches, and so we thought we would explore mindset in these next four episodes through the lens of career transition, because it is something, like you said, that everyone experiences at some time in life. Maybe you're in it right now, maybe you know folks who are I mean, look at all the layoffs that have been happening and so you know we're kind of caught up in this place right now in the US, where more and more people are looking for work. So we thought it might be really timely to bring this to you, and that's why we're launching this podcast series. So, some of the things what are some of the things that we're going to be exploring in the series?

34:57 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Well, we want to provide some insights on just how to shift your mindset from that fear, which is typically where people start, to a mindset of opportunity, provide some practical tools and some strategies for conducting a really successful job search, I think that we'll be able to really share some stories and expert guidance on how to stay motivated and focused.

35:19 - Judy Gelniak (Host)
I mean, we talk with people in our private practices every day just about who are going through a career transition, and so we have a lot of experience helping people get through that. Also, we're going to talk about ways to align your next career move with what truly matters to you and this is something that I feel passionate about as well is really understanding that we can enjoy what we do for a living. And why aren't we right? And so that's also part of mindset mindset shifts as well, yeah.

35:50 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, so if you or someone you know is navigating a career transition, please spread the word, because I think this podcast is for you. It's because the way you approach the transition can make all the difference in what comes next.
