Are you a mental health professional striving to make a difference?  Currently, we have openings for psychologists, mental health social workers, and mental health occupational therapists who can provide their services through the Medicare system. Our demand is heightened due to the national shortage of psychologists, exacerbated by the ongoing pandemic and its impact on mental health. We proudly serve a diverse client base, many of whom have a preference for Christian psychologists. So, no matter where you are, whether in Australia, Sydney or even overseas, if you are passionate about mental health, we'd love to hear from you. Visit www.effectiveliving.com.au/join-our-team and be part of a team that’s dedicated to serving the community and fostering a world without burnout.

Speaker 1:

Hello friends and hello listeners, although by now I'd like to think that you're both. Hi, it's Valerie Ling coming to you with a very special we Need your Help episode. I lead the Center for Effective Serving, which is a workplace well-being and leadership consulting arm, which is what this podcast is coming out of. But I also lead a psychology practice in Sydney called the Center for Effective Living. Like what we did there, effective Serving, effective Living or the Center for Effective Living, needs your help. We need your help.

Speaker 1:

We are currently looking for psychologists to join our team, not just psychologists. If you are a mental health social worker, if you are a mental health occupational therapist basically anybody who can offer mental health services through the Medicare system we would love to hear from you. Or if you know anybody who fits that description, we'd love to hear from them as well. Did you know that there is a national shortage of psychologists National shortage and we have such strict rules in our profession that we have to really limit the types of people that can work as a psychologist? It's pretty hard to become a psychologist in Australia. Put that now with what the pandemic has delivered and the level of need in our community we just don't have enough practitioners to go around. On any given week, the Center for Effective Living is seeing Christians, people in ministry and people in mission all over the world.

Speaker 1:

As we rise to respond to the crisis that is still going on in the mental health space, we may not be wearing masks, but that does not mean that the mental health needs of our community has subsided. We have a heavy case load all the way from children all the way to singles, to parents, to families, to people who are in their late 70s and 80s. A lot of our clients are indeed Christians and they make very specific requests to see a Christian psychologist. We have a few on our team. We have many on our team, but not all of our psychologists are Christians. And add to that the very happy occasions of pregnancies and people getting new opportunities in new seasons of life. That just means we need to replenish our talent pool. But I will tell you this we really hardly possibly even could say slightly never have anybody leave our team because they have been unhappy. We have a really high retention rate, and that is because we find the work that we do so meaningful and so engaging.

Speaker 1:

So if you are a psychologist, slash mental health worker that I named before who currently lives in Australia. We don't need you to live in Sydney, because we have the capacity and the capability for the right person with the right experience to also provide telehealth services. If you are someone or you know someone, who is looking to join an innovative impact serving, meaning creating psychology practice here in Sydney, please send us our way. Hey, let's not limit ourselves to Australia.

Speaker 1:

If you live overseas and you are thinking of moving to Australia, at least three of our practitioners are from overseas and have been able to get visas and we've been able to support them to meet the Australian psychology board requirements to be registered in Australia. So if you live somewhere outside of Australia and you would like to come live here and work with us, then here is the place to go to wwweffectivelivingcomau. Slash join-our-team. Hey, thank you so much and I'm just looking forward to seeing all the applications coming from all over the place through to the practice, that we can find our team members who will continue to support us in our mission to see a world without burnout and a world in who will see Jesus. Thanks,
