Gerard Murphy
Gerard Murphy is a strategic leader and public safety professional with over 33 years’ experience in An Garda Síochána, where he served as Chief Superintendent before moving into international consultancy. His work has focused on organisational change, safety and resilience frameworks, and complex operations, including major state visits and national events.
He has held national responsibilities in safeguarding, contributing to policy development and coordinating multi-agency responses in areas such as domestic abuse, missing persons, and offender management. As a consultant, he has contributed as a Law Enforcement Expert to the UAE Government Excellence Model, worked with the Abu Dhabi Government, and supported strategic initiatives with Dubai Police. Gerard now works as a security and resilience consultant, including as a Security Representative for an International Sporting Organisation, supporting the planning and coordination of large-scale events.
