Speaker 1:

Hello, my name is Stephanie. Welcome to the All Is Well podcast. My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives. I'm glad you decided to join me today. Let's get started. Welcome to episode 13.

Speaker 1:

What I'm going to discuss today is how God has commanded us to be fruitful and multiply. So let's begin this study and let's turn on over to Genesis, chapter 1, verse 26. So in Genesis, chapter 1, verse 26, it reads Then God said Let us make man in our image. How did God make us In His image? We are made in Christ's image, according to our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth Verse 27,. So God created man in His own image. We are made in the image of Christ, in the image of God. He created him male and female. He created them Verse 28,. Then God blessed them and God said to them Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth. So in verse 28, at the very beginning, it reads then God blessed them. God blessed them and God said to them be fruitful and multiply. And God said to them be fruitful and multiply. So this is a command that God has given us. He has told us to be fruitful and multiply. He doesn't want us to stay in the same position, to be small, to stay stagnant. We are commanded to be fruitful and multiply. We should see growth in our life, year after year, because he has commanded us to be fruitful and multiply.

Speaker 1:

Now let's see some of the examples in the Bible, how Jesus multiplied. Let's go to Matthew, chapter 14, verses 13 through 21. So let's turn on over to Matthew 14, verse 13. The subheading for this is feeding the 5,000. So it reads in verse 13, when Jesus heard it, he departed from there by boat to a deserted place by himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed him on foot from the cities. And when Jesus went out, he saw a great multitude and he was moved with compassion for them and healed their sick.

Speaker 1:

When it was evening, his disciples came to him saying this is a deserted place and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food. But Jesus said to them they do not need to go away, you give them something to eat Verse 17,. And they said to him we have here only five loaves and two fish. He said Bring them here to me, point.

Speaker 1:

Jesus knew, and so did the disciples, that they only had five loaves and two fish to feed the thousands of people that were there. So anyone in this situation would have probably said okay, we can't feed them all, we barely even have enough to feed our own selves, so let's just send them off, just like we originally planned. But Jesus is different and he teaches us how to walk. He teaches us how to think and what we need to do in these types of situations when we see lack in our life or it's not flourishing in the way that we want it to. And so he said bring them here to me.

Speaker 1:

Then he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass and he took the five loaves and the two fish and, looking up to heaven, he blessed them. He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples. And the disciples gave to the multitudes so they all ate and were filled, and they took up 12 baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now, those who had eaten were about 5,000 men, besides women and children. So from the beginning, we see here that they only had five loaves and two fish to feed over 5,000 people. So, god, so Jesus, he blessed, he looked up to heaven and he blessed what they had, and then God multiplied it. God multiplied it, god multiplied it, and so there was enough food to feed everyone. That was more than 5,000 people. And so not only that, was that enough, just the right amount. It was an overflow, it was an abundance. Because they had 12 baskets full of fragments that remained. They still had more than enough left over. That's what God wants to do when we give our tithes and offerings he wants to open the windows of heaven for us and pour out for us such a blessing that there is not enough room to receive it. There was still more than enough, and that's what he does.

Speaker 1:

Let's see another example. Let's go on over to john, chapter 21. So in john chapter 1, verse 3, it reads simon peter said to them I am going fishing. They said to him we are going with you also. They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.

Speaker 1:

But when the morning had now come, jesus stood on the shore. Yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them Children, have you any food? They answered him no, and he said to them Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some. So if you notice here, jesus did not say well, hopefully you'll get some food soon enough. You know, this time of year it's hard to get food. I heard some fishermen down the way. They were talking about they didn't find any fish. They couldn't catch any fish. So it may be difficult for you too. No, jesus didn't speak that way, he was very careful about what he said.

Speaker 1:

So in verse 6, it reads and he said to them Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some. So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. So you can already see here that they're having more than enough. God multiplied them. It says again so they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. There's an overflow, it's too much, it's more than enough.

Speaker 1:

Verse 7,. Therefore, that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter it is the Lord. Now, when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he had removed it and plunged into the sea. But the other disciples came in the little boat, for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits, dragging the net with fish. You don't drag something that's light, you drag something that's heavy. Something that's light, you drag something that's heavy. Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there and fish laid on it and bread. Jesus said to them bring some of the fish which you have just caught. Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land Again, dragged the net. You don't drag things that are light, you drag things that are heavy, full of large fish. So again there's another keyword it was full of large fish. It wasn't half, it wasn't just a portion, it was full 153. And although there were so many, the net was not broken.

Speaker 1:

Verse 12,.

Speaker 1:

Jesus said to them Come and eat breakfast. Yet none of the disciples dared ask him who are you Knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. So you can see also in this example how Jesus multiplied the fish for the disciples. So just in the same way, he wants us to multiply and to be fruitful in our lives. And you can see here with Jesus in these two examples, he was not lacking. So we need to follow the same example too. What area in our lives do we need to multiply and do we need to be fruitful? And we can ask God to bless us and show us the right way to go in that direction. So what I would recommend for you to do is to meditate on these scriptures about multiplying and being fruitful here on this earth.

Speaker 1:

And thank you for tuning in. If you have not accepted Jesus into your life, say this salvation prayer with me Heavenly Father, I admit that I have sinned. I repent. I believe in my heart. You raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is Lord and my Savior. Right now I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. Come into my life. I am saved In Jesus' name, amen. I'm glad you prayed that salvation prayer. Make sure that you plug yourself into a spirit-filled church and read the word of God. Well, I hope you enjoy the message and thank you for tuning in.
