Faith and Obedience in Noah's Life
Speaker 1Hello , my name is Stephanie . Welcome to the All Is Well podcast . My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives . I'm glad you decided to join me today . Let's get started . Welcome to episode 17 .
Speaker 1So for this episode I will continue the message of faith and dive into Noah's life and how he believed God and how God blessed Noah and his family . Let's get started . Let's turn on over to Hebrews , chapter 11 . So let's read Hebrews , chapter 11 , verse 1 and 2 . Verse 1 and 2 .
Speaker 1Now , faith is the substance of things hoped for , the evidence of things not seen , for by it the elders obtained a good testimony . By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God , so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible . Let's go down to verse 6 in chapter 11 . But without faith it is impossible to please him , for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him . So remember , just as we reviewed in the last episode , without faith it is impossible to please God . So we need faith to please God , because he's always calling us to go to the next level . But with faith , it allows you to trust God . Put your trust in God so that way he can elevate you and take you to a higher level . He wants to increase you , move you up . So when he commands you and he tells you to do something and it looks difficult , that's when your faith needs to step in and trust God , and then he will elevate you . He wants to bring you up , not leave you at the same level that you're in .
Speaker 1So now let's jump on over to James , chapter 2 . So in James , chapter 2 , verse 18, . But someone will say you have faith and I have works . Show me your faith without your works , and I will show you my faith by my works . You believe that there is one God . You do well , even the demons believe and tremble . But do you want to know , o foolish man , that faith without works is dead ? Was not Abraham , our father , justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar ? Do you see that faith was working together with his works ? And the scripture was fulfilled , which says of God . You see , then , that a man is justified by works and not by faith . Only Faith without works is dead . And then let's go down to 26 . For as a body without the spirit is dead , so faith without works is dead also .
Speaker 1So now let's take a closer look at Noah's life and see how he implemented this in his life . So let's turn on over to Genesis , chapter 6 . Genesis 6 , verse 11 the earth also was corrupt before God , and the earth was filled with violence . So God looked upon the earth and indeed it was corrupt , for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth Verse 13 . And God said to Noah the end of all flesh has come before me , for the earth is filled with violence through them . And behold , I will destroy them with the earth .
Speaker 1Make yourself an ark of gopher wood , make rooms in the ark so right here God is giving him an instruction and covered inside and outside with pitch . And this is how you shall make it the length of the ark shall be 300 cubits , its width fifty cubits and its height thirty cubits . You shall make a window for the ark and you shall finish it to a cubit from above and set the door of the ark in its side . You shall make it with lower , second and third decks . And behold , I myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth to destroy from under heaven . All flesh , and which is the breath of life , everything is on the earth , shall die . But I will establish my covenant with you and he shall go into the ark . You , your sons , your wife and your sons , wives , with you , and of every living thing , of all flesh , shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you . They shall be male and female . Of the birds after their kind , of animals , and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind , two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive , and you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten and you shall gather it to yourself , and it shall be food for you and for them .
Speaker 1So right here , noah has heard the instruction that God wants him to do , and it's a lot , it's not an easy task . And then verse 22, . Thus Noah did according to all that . God . Commanded him , so he did . Commanded him , so he did . So I don't read anywhere in that scripture that Noah doubted . Noah asked him questions . He didn't ask him . Are you sure ? Are you sure you want me to build an ark ? Do you know that people are going to make fun of me ? There's not a flood around at all , it's not even raining , and you want me to build an ark , are you sure ? He didn't say anything like that ?
Speaker 1So in verse 22 , it says thus Noah did according to all that God commanded him . So he did . He did exactly what God told him to do . He had faith , he believed . That's why God , then the Lord , said to Noah Come into the ark , you and your household , because I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation . You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal , a male and his female , to each of animals that are unclean , a male and his female . Also , seven each of the birds of the air , male and female , to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth . For after seven more days , I will cause it , the birds of the air , male and female , to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth For after seven more days . I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights , and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made .
Speaker 1Verse 5 , and Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him . So he had faith again , and Noah did Remember faith without works is dead . Noah didn't just pray . Thank you , god , that you're sending someone to build the ark , that you're just going to automatically deliver an ark . No , faith without works is dead . Noah did what God told him to do . There were things that you need to do that God tells you to do . Not only do you need to pray , but you need to put action behind it . What does God want you to do ? What does he want you to do in addition to pray ? Because , if not , faith without works is dead . Verse 5 again . And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him . Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters were on the earth . So at this point , right here , there are no excuses . No matter what age you are If you're 10 years old , 50 years old , 100 years old , there is no excuse to the things that God has called you to do . Because right here , noah was 600 years old 600 . And still he had faith . Years old , 600 . And still he had faith and he did what God told him to do .
Speaker 1So then they entered the boat , noah and his family . And then , in verse 16 , it says so those that entered , male and female of all flesh went in as God had commanded him , and the Lord shut him in . So then it rained for 40 days and 40 nights . So after that time they were able to come out when it was ready , when they were able to come into the land . And then , after it was over , let's go on over to chapter 9 .
Speaker 1Then , with Noah's obedience , noah had obedience and he had faith . God instructed him to build an ark and he did it the way that he told him to do it . He didn't start implementing his own plans in it , he didn't make it smaller . He didn't do it any other way . He did it exactly the way God told him to do it . Then he got his family in the boat , then he got all the animals that he needed to get on the boat with him as well .
Journey of Faith and Obedience
Speaker 1And then in chapter 9 , it reads so God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them so , because of the obedience and having faith , see , god wants to take you to a higher level . So when we believe him and we take action , then God blesses us . So God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth . Be fruitful and multiply , see , he wants us to increase , to expand , not stay stagnant , not to be in the same place , but to have faith , but to keep going . He wants , even when you're at that level he told you to go to , then from there he's going to take you to another , higher level , and then another one , and another one . You're never at that point where you made it with God . You got to keep going . He just wants to keep taking you and elevating you and elevating you . But you and I are the only ones that'll stop it . If we want to stay right where we're at , then we'll stay right there . But if we have faith and we're trusting God and believing Him and asking Him for more , then he will increase us and take us higher .
Speaker 1So what I would recommend for you to do is to meditate on these faith scriptures . So what I would recommend for you to do is to meditate on these faith scriptures , read and study the life of Noah and feed yourself with faith scriptures and faith messages to increase your faith . And thank you for tuning in . If you have not accepted Jesus into your life , say this salvation prayer with me Heavenly Father , I admit that I have sinned , I repent , I believe in my heart . You raised Jesus from the dead . I confess with my mouth Jesus is Lord and my Savior . Right now I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus . Come into my life . I am saved In Jesus' name , amen . I'm glad you prayed that salvation prayer . Make sure that you plug yourself into a spirit-filled church and read the Word of God , amen .
