Hello, my name is Stephanie. Welcome to the All Is Well podcast. My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives. I'm glad you decided to join me today. Let's get started. Welcome to episode 21. Well, this is another session on wisdom, because there is security in wisdom. It guides us to make the right choices in life, especially when we seek God's wisdom. So let's get started.
Speaker 1:Let's turn in our Bibles to Proverbs, chapter 4, verse 1. So in Proverbs, chapter 4, verse 1, it reads hear my children the instruction of a father and give attention to no understanding. For I give you good doctrine Do not forsake my law. Verse 3,. When I was my father's son, tender and the only one in the sight of my mother, he also taught me and said to me Let your heart retain my words, keep my commands and live. Get wisdom, get understanding. So if you're ever in a point in your life and you don't know what to do or what you should do, god gives us the instruction of what we should do. It says here in verse 2 for I give you good doctrine, what he's telling us in his word. It is good Doctrine do not forsake my law, do not leave it, because it's life to us. And then what we have been going over is to get wisdom. We have the responsibility to get God's wisdom, not just to use our own wisdom or our own smarts and just go with that. Well, I think this is best. It worked out better for me last time but to get God's wisdom and to get his understanding when we have those two together, then we're able to accomplish what God wants us to do and we're able to go further. Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. So when we seek his wisdom and seek his understanding, then we need to. It helps us to stay in tune with what he's telling us to do.
Speaker 1:Verse 6,. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you. Love her, and she will keep you. So it's saying don't leave God's wisdom, don't leave wisdom, don't leave understanding, because when you keep her, when you keep wisdom, then she will preserve you and she will keep you. Wisdom is a principal thing. It's the main thing. Therefore, get wisdom and in all, you're to a higher level. Remember everything with God. It brings us to a higher level in our thinking, in our way of life, in the way that we approach things. Remember, because God doesn't want to just keep us at the same level, even with our thinking. He'll take us to the next level. We know everything about that topic or that particular person. God gives us the wisdom to combat that. To go even higher. In verse 10, it reads hear my son and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many. I have taught so. Wisdom gives us long life and the years of your life will be many. When you listen to wisdom, listen to God's instruction. He promises us He'll give you long life.
Speaker 1:Verse 11, when you walk, your steps will not be hindered. Coming out of your mouth, you're declaring those things I always stumble, or something bad always happens. Well, there's two things with that the words that are coming out of your mouth, you're declaring those things. And, second of all, you're not seeking God in his wisdom. Because when you seek God in his wisdom, you're not going to go into the wrong path. Because, just as it states here in his word, it says I have led you in the right paths. That is what wisdom will do. And it says and your steps will not be hindered, they will not be stopped, altered, and when you run, you will not stumble. So if you find yourself in those situations right now that you're stumbling, that you don't know which direction you're going in and it's not the right path for you, it's because you need to seek God's wisdom. Seek God's wisdom and he'll lead you into the right path.
Speaker 1:Verse 14,. Do not enter the path of the wicked and do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it, do not even go near it. It doesn't matter. Well, I've done it before, I can handle it. It doesn't say that at all. It says avoid it, do not travel on it, turn away from it and pass on. It doesn't matter if they're your friends that are participating in evil or whatever it may be. It doesn't say that. It says avoid it. Don't go on that path.
Speaker 1:Verse 16, for they do not sleep unless they have done evil and their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall, for they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. So you do not want to be attached to anyone that is going in that direction, because then that'll come on you. You don't want to be going in that direction because of the way that they're thinking. God is not in their steps. God is not in their path whatsoever.
Speaker 1:Then verse 18,. But the path of the just is like the shining sun. So those who are made righteous in Christ, they are like the shining sun that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness. They do not know what makes them stumble. If you notice and if you look at the difference of the wicked and you may say, well, that person's not wicked. But if they're not following God's commands and then just doing whatever they want to do, look at their life. If you see that their life they're just going from one bad thing to the next, to the next. They're walking in darkness and they don't know what's making them stumble. They'll speak things out of their mouth and say if it's not one thing, it's something else. There's always something bad happening to me because they're walking in darkness. They are not seeking the wisdom of God. But for God's people, if you're following him and you can make that decision if you're not already. He says but the path of the just is like the shining light. For me it is better to walk in the shining light because you can see what path and what direction you can take. But when you're walking in darkness, you can't see anything, you don't know, you're just going with your emotions. Well, I think this and I think that. Well, what does Sally think? She's walking in darkness? So I'm going to ask her too. That does not get you anywhere, but with God and his wisdom, he's going to lead you into the right path. You're going to know exactly where you're going to go. That is the difference.
Speaker 1:Verse 20. My son, give attention to my words, incline your ear to my sayings, listen to me, he's saying. Do not let them depart from your eyes. Keep them in the midst of your heart, for they are life to those who find them. So he's saying here when you get my words that are in this bible, they will be life to you, they will revive you, they will bring you to a higher level, they will bring life into your body, into your spirit and health, to all your flesh. That is, healing to your body.
Speaker 1:Verse, verse 23,. Keep your heart with all diligence. What does that mean? To keep your heart with all diligence? Well, diligence means to be careful and have persistent work or effort. So it's keeping your heart with all diligence. Why? For out of it spring the issues of life.
Speaker 1:24, put away from you a deceitful mouth. What is deceitful, deceitful, is guilty, or involving deceit, or misleading others. So God says don't speak like that. Don't have a mouth where you're misleading others, you're leading them down the wrong path. Put that away from you, he says. And then he says and put perverse lips far from you, it's the way that we're speaking. Don't speak that way. Some people will say well, it doesn't matter what I say, it's not way that we're speaking. Don't speak that way. Some people will say well, it doesn't matter what I say, it's not hurting anyone. Yes, it is, it's hurting yourself. And what are you speaking? Into other people's lives as well. And what does perverse mean? It means turned away from what is right or good. It's corrupt. So you don't want to be speaking in a corrupt way. God says and put perverse lips far from you. Don't speak that way, because it doesn't please God, it doesn't build your spirit up, it leads you away from wisdom.
Speaker 1:Verse 25, let your eyes look straight ahead, don't be distracted, and your eyelids look right before you Ponder the direction of wisdom and what it will do in our lives. So it sets us in a clear path and a clear direction. So if you follow the instructions of Proverbs 4 or anything in Proverbs, anything in the Word of God, it's going to lead you into the right path. But you need to stay diligent and consistent into what God is telling you to do so you can see the promises that he's laid out for you and I. And so what I would recommend for you to do is to continue meditating on the wisdom scriptures and have those wisdom scriptures embedded in you and then also check to see do I have a deceitful mouth?
Speaker 1:Am I speaking perverse things? If you are and maybe you don't realize it because you've done it so much, sometimes we get into these habits where we don't realize that we're speaking a certain way. But have God reveal these things to you, if it's not already out in the open for you, and then, if you are, start to make a change, to speak the way that God wants you and to remove a deceitful mouth and perverse things from your lips. So keep on meditating on the word of God, keep meditating in Proverbs and thank you for tuning in. If you have not accepted Jesus into your life, say the salvation prayer with me. Heavenly Father, I admit that I have sinned, I repent. I believe in my heart. You raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is Lord and my Savior. I'm glad you prayed that salvation prayer. Make sure that you plug yourself into a spirit-filled church and read the Word of God. Well, I hope you enjoy the message and thank you for tuning in.
