Speaker 1:

Hello, my name is Stephanie. Welcome to the All Is Well podcast. My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives. I'm glad you decided to join me today. Let's get started. Welcome to episode 22. Did you know that there is a difference between God's wisdom and the wisdom of the world? Well, in this episode we'll take a closer look at God's wisdom and understand that we need His wisdom in our lives. Let's get started.

Speaker 1:

Let's turn on over in our Bibles to 1 Corinthians 3, verse 18. So in 1 Corinthians, chapter 3, verse 18, it reads Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. For the wisdom and the world's wisdom are two different things and, just as it's stated here in scripture, god, the world's wisdom is foolish because the world's wisdom can only get you so far. And also, too, with the world's wisdom, they think, or anybody who has the world's wisdom, or they're just seeking their wisdom without seeking the counsel of God. They think that they got it all figured out. They think that that they know best, but they don't. But with God's wisdom it is completely different. It takes you to a higher level and it helps you to see things that you couldn't see before, and so much more. So then, let's dive in and take a closer look at the wisdom of God. So let's turn on over to Proverbs, chapter 8. So remember, for God, he's telling us that wisdom is a principal thing, it is the main thing, but not just any wisdom, but his wisdom. We need to get his wisdom into our lives.

Speaker 1:

So let's look at chapter 8 and we'll go to verse 12. So this is I wisdom, dwell with prudence and find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the Lord is to of God, it says here, and pride and arrogance in the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate. So when you have God's wisdom, you're going to hate the things that he hates. You're not going to keep doing your old ways. You're going to come into the submission of God and you're going to desire the things that he desires you to do. So it says in verse 14, counsel is mind and sound wisdom. I am understanding, I have strength. So also, too, we have understanding here.

Speaker 1:

By me, kings reign and rulers decree justice. By me, princes rule and nobles. Wisdom is good for any area of your life, any area. But if you are in charge of a company, a department, at your job, whatever it may be, even your family, you need God's wisdom and he'll lead you into the right paths. Just like, as it says here by me, kings reign and rulers decree justice. Verse 16, by me, princes rule and nobles, all the judges of the earth. I love those who love me and those who seek me. And those who seek me diligently will find me. So you have to keep seeking God's wisdom and his understanding.

Speaker 1:

Verse 18,. Riches and honor are with me. Enduring riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold. Yes, then find gold and my revenue than choice silver.

Speaker 1:

I traverse the way of righteousness in the midst of the path of justice that I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries. And just like I've always mentioned, god is not a God of lack, he is a God of abundance, he is a God of overflow. So if you're seeking God's wisdom every day, in every area of your life, he's not going to keep you right where you're at. He's not going to keep you stagnant. He's not going to keep you right where you're at. He's not going to keep you stagnant. He's not going to keep you in your little world. He is going to elevate you into a higher level. And just what it states in verse 21, it says when you seek the wisdom of God, it says that I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries. So that's not keeping you at the same level. That is increasing you, increasing you to a higher level and to a higher capacity. So if you're anywhere at your job, god doesn't want to keep you there. He wants to elevate you. Let's keep going. Let's keep going higher. Let's go down to verse 32.

Speaker 1:

Now, therefore, listen to me, my children, for blessed are those who keep my ways. If you want to be blessed by God, keep his ways, follow his instruction. So it's saying here when God tells you something, do it, be wise, follow it. Sometimes you may think well, I don't really like that, I'm just going to do this instead. Think, well, I don't really like that, I'm just going to do this instead. But remember, god's ways are higher than our ways. He's going to lead us into a better path than what our way will lead us. So, when we're listening to the instructions, be wise, follow it. Then, in verse 34, blessed is a man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

Speaker 1:

Verse 35, for whoever finds me finds life, because with wisdom, you're seeking God. You're seeking the wisdom of God. How do I do this, how do I do that, where do I go? Finds life. For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord. So these are the things that wisdom offers. These are the things that wisdom will provide for us. It gives us life and it gives us favor and it gives us blessings in our lives. Verse 36, but he who sins against me wrongs his own soul, and those who hate me love death. So, based on the end of that scripture or that last one, and he who sins against me wrongs his own soul, all those who hate me love death. That is the opposite from God's wisdom and the direction that he's leading us to. So what does it look like when we ask God for wisdom in our lives? We still need God's wisdom. We still need him to lead us and to guide us into all truth.

Speaker 1:

So let's see how Solomon did that. So let's turn on over to 2 Chronicles, chapter 1. So in 2 Chronicles, chapter 1, verse 1,. Now Solomon, the son of David, was strengthened in his kingdom and the Lord, his God, was with him and exalted him exceedingly. And Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges and to every leader in all Israel, the heads of the fathers' houses. So, right here, solomon was already at the top and God had already exalted him exceedingly and he would speak to thousands and of hundreds of judges and leaders. So he was already there. So I want you to remember that he was already there.

Speaker 1:

Then let's go down to verse 7. It says On that night, god appeared to Solomon and said to him Ask what shall I give you? Verse 8. And Solomon said to him Ask what shall I give you? Verse 8, and Solomon said to God you have shown great mercy to David, my father, and have made me king in his place. Now, o Lord, god, let your promise to David my father be established, for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth, in multitude. Now, give me wisdom and knowledge that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can judge this great people of yours? So what did Solomon ask for? He asked for wisdom. Look on verse 10. Now, give me wisdom and knowledge. He asked for wisdom and knowledge. Why that I may go out and come in before this people? Verse 11, the life of your enemies. Nor have you asked long life, but you have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself that you may judge my people, over whom I have made you king. Wisdom and knowledge are granted to you.

Speaker 1:

So, as we can see here, that god liked what solomon asked. He liked that he was after wisdom and he was after understanding, because then, when we have that, we're seeking God and what he wants and we're able to think at his level. And what does he want us to do with this and what does he want us to do with certain things in our life? And so God honored that. Not only did God give Solomon understanding and wisdom, he said not only will I grant you this, he says I will give you riches and wealth and honor, and how much, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like. So, in addition to the wisdom and knowledge that God gave to Solomon, he also blessed him with riches and wealth, god's not keeping him at the same level.

Speaker 1:

So if we look back in verse 1, god had exalted him exceedingly, he was already up and you would think, okay, he's already at the top, he's already made it, he can't be blessed anymore. He's already blessed. He's speaking to hundreds and thousands of captains and judges and leaders. He's already made it. He's doing very, very well. He can keep blessing us and blessing us greater than we have ever imagined. And so when it says here not only did God give him wisdom and knowledge because he knew Solomon's heart, he knew that he truly wanted to lead the people into the right path, because he knew that if he didn't have God's wisdom, then the country would fail, then everything would just fall apart.

Speaker 1:

So it's important, even when you've made it to the top, or when you think that you've made it to the place where you're going, you don't just settle there. God won't let you settle. He's going to keep elevating you. So when he asked for wisdom and knowledge, god said I will give you riches and wealth and honor. He's not stuck in that area, he got moved. And so that's the same way with you and I. When we ask for God's wisdom, when we're seeking for his understanding. He's not going to leave us in the same level, he's not going to leave us in the same position. He wants to elevate us into greater, greater places. But that is only if we seek God's wisdom and we seek his instruction for our lives, and not only do we hear it, but we're listening to what he says and we're obeying his commandments and the instruction that he tells us. And so that's why that it's important to meditate on the word day and night. So when he's speaking to us and then he's given us instruction, we'll know it's from him and we'll know the things of God, and then his desires will become our desires. And so we only get that way when we're spending that time with him.

Speaker 1:

Think about if you're spending time with a friend and it's a new friend. Let's say, they like to do a certain sport or like to do a certain activity, and you never liked to do that before. But let's say this friend, they like to play tennis or golf or whatever sport it may be, but ever since you started hanging out with them, they wanna do it every other day or every weekend, and so you're doing that with them all the time, and so the more that you're hanging out with them. You know more about that sport. You know more about that activity. Before you didn't know anything but you spending time with them. Now you're knowing more about it. They're teaching you how to play it, they're teaching you all the tricks, they are teaching you everything about it.

Speaker 1:

So, in a way, that's the same way with God the more that you're into his word, he's going to elevate you into greater places, and if there's anyone that you're going to be around, it is God that you want to be around, and not just a little bit, not just once a week, but show him and devote yourself to him on a consistent basis, and so that way you can, god can take you to a higher level, but that way, so that way he can renew your heart from the inside out, and then you're able to see all the good things that he has for your life.

Speaker 1:

Well, so what I would recommend for you today is to meditate on these scriptures. Ask God to give you wisdom for your life and for every single area of your life. Ask him for wisdom for the areas where they're difficult, no matter what it is. Ask him for wisdom, seek his understanding, and you will see the blessing come over your life, and thank you for tuning in. If you have not accepted Jesus into your life, say the salvation prayer with me. If you have not accepted Jesus into your life, say this salvation prayer with me. I'm glad you prayed that salvation prayer. Make sure that you plug yourself into a spirit-filled church and read the word of God. Well, I hope you enjoy the message and thank you for tuning in.
