Hello, my name is Stephanie. Welcome to the All Is Well podcast. My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives. I'm glad you decided to join me today. Let's get started. Welcome to episode 26. So in this episode, we are going to learn more about Jesus. One thing about Jesus is that he is a healer. So in the Bible we are going to see many instances where he healed people. So let's get started.

Speaker 1

Let's turn on over to our Bibles, to Matthew, chapter 3, verses 11 through 12. If you're sitting at home, it is a good idea to make sure that you have the Bible, because it's very important not just to hear it, but we also want to get into the practice of opening up our Bible, of seeing it with their eyes and also speaking it. Not just listening to it, but also diving deep into it as well. So let's turn to our Bibles, to Matthew, chapter 3, verses 11 through 12. And so it reads. So at this part, it's where John the Baptist, and he is talking about Jesus and who he is. And so it says in verse 11, I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in his hand and he will thoroughly clean out his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. So that is the way that John the Baptist described Jesus, and I like what he says here. He says he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. So let's continue on this life of Jesus and his healing ministry. So let's move on to Matthew, chapter 4, verses 23 to 25. And so it says and Jesus went about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

Speaker 1

So let's go back and read that. What does it say? It says that Jesus was healing all kinds of sicknesses and diseases. It does not say just some of them or a few of them, or the easy ones. It says all kinds. It doesn't matter how small that sickness was or how great that disease was. Jesus healed them all. There is nothing too difficult for him. And he healed everyone.

Speaker 1

Then it says in verse 24, then his fame went throughout all Syria and they brought to him all the sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments. They knew that Jesus had that healing power. Jesus didn't have to go and find them. The people came to him. They wanted to be healed. They knew that they could get it because they saw other people. They saw the miracles in people's lives. They heard about them. Do you think that people didn't talk about it? They talked about it. They were worshiping him. They were talking about the good and wonderful things that Jesus did for them, that he healed their bodies and multiple people, all their sicknesses, all their diseases. So when other people hear it, they're thinking I saw my friend. He's been sick for 20 years for five years, however long and Jesus came and he healed them. I need to go see him. I need to go see him because I want to get well too. I want my family to be well. So people went to him. Then his fame went throughout all Syria and they brought to him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, even people who were tormented and those who were demon, possessed epileptics and paralytics, and he healed them. He healed everyone. Great multitudes followed him. So multitudes and multitudes of people followed him. And you know what? He healed them all.

Speaker 1

Now let's go on to Matthew, chapter 8, verse 16. And this, right here, is what we need to remember, because when Jesus died on the cross for us, he didn't just die, but what happened? That he died on the cross? He himself. When he died on the cross, he took our infirmities and he bore our sicknesses. So we don't have to be in sickness, we don't have to have those diseases on our bodies, but Jesus, he has that healing power. We can allow him to heal us. And it says here and he cast out the spirits with the word, and he healed all who were sick that it might be fulfilled. So whenever Jesus was around, people got healed. People were healed from every single kind of infirmity, every single kind of disease, because that is a power that Jesus had, he still has. So let's continue on chapter 8, verse 28.

Speaker 1

The country there met him, two demon-possessed men coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way, and suddenly they cried out saying what have we to do with you, jesus, you Son of God, have you come here to torment us before the time? Verse 30, now, a good way off from them there was a herd of many swine feeding. So the demons begged him saying if you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine. And he said to them go. They listened to him, the demons. He said go. So when they had come out they went into the herd of swine and suddenly the whole herd of swine ran violently down the steep place into the sea and perished in the water.

Speaker 1

So, just like what I had said before, there's people who saw, and it says here, and they told everything, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men. And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus. They wanted to know who was this that could heal the demon-possessed man, because it says here in the Bible too, in verse 28, that they were exceedingly fierce so that no one could pass that way. So people were scared of them. They saw them, they heard them. So for Jesus to come on by and to heal them. And all he told them was to go. Because they asked if he could cast them out and permit them to go into the herd of swine and all he said was go. He didn't have a discussion with them, he didn't say anything else. All he said was one word go. And on that word they went, they fled, and so people heard that. So then, those two men were healed. They were no longer demon possessed, and so that is a power that Jesus holds. Where the enemy flees. At the name of Jesus, the enemy flees. And so when, behold, the city came out to meet Jesus, they wanted to know who he is. Who is this Jesus? Who is the one that did this?

Speaker 1

Let's continue on to another instance on chapter 9 in Matthew. So he got into a boat, crossed over and came to his own city. Then, behold, they brought him to a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic Son be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. And at once, some of the scribes said within themselves this man blasphemes. But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said why do you think evil is in your hearts? For which is easier to say your sins are forgiven you, or to say Arise and walk, but that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins. Then he said to the paralytic Arise, take up your bed and go to your house. And he arose and departed to his house. Now, when the multitude saw it, they marveled and glorified God who had given such power to men.

Speaker 1

So let's go back and read this in verse 6 of chapter 9. It says, but that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins. So he forgave his sins and then he said. Then he said to the paralytic arise, take up your bed and go to your house. Because could he do that before? He couldn't do that because at the beginning of chapter nine it says then behold, they brought him to a paralytic lying on a bed. He was lying on there so he couldn't get up. But Jesus told him arise, take up your bed and go to your house. And he arose and departed to his house. Jesus didn't ask him how long have you been on the bed? How have you been feeling? Does it hurt when you walk? Do you have trouble walking? None of those questions were asked. But all Jesus said was Arise, take up your bed and go to your house.

Speaker 1

And that man had faith. He believed what Jesus said, he heard what he had been doing and so he didn't argue with him. But it says here in verse 7, and he arose and departed to his house. It's like this when Jesus speaks a word, when God commands us to do something, we need to immediately do it and go and have faith. And verse 8, now, when the multitude saw it, they marveled and glorified God. They were amazed by what God had done there. They were amazed by what he had done for that man.

Speaker 1

Let's go on to chapter 9, still in verse 32, in Matthew, as they went out, behold, they brought to him a man, mute and demon-possessed, so he could not speak. And he was demon-possessed. And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke and the multitudes marveled. Lots of people are following Jesus and they're seeing all of the work that he is doing, even though you can see, they've seen him do so many things, but what is happening here? They're still marveling. They're still amazed by the mighty works of Jesus. Always be in awe of the great things that he's done oh yeah, he's done that for me before but be amazed and marvel at the good things that Jesus is doing in your lives. And it says here and when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke and the multitudes marveled was cast out, the mute spoke and the multitudes marveled, saying it was never seen like this in Israel. So they had never seen anything like that. So marvelous, so miraculous.

Discovering the Healing Power of Jesus

Speaker 1

The healing power that Jesus has over the enemy, the healing power that he has over sicknesses, the healing power that he has over diseases, and all we have to do, and all we need to do, is believe that Jesus can heal and receive that healing power into our bodies and also watch the words that we speak and make sure that it lines up according to the word of God and feed our body and feed our spirit with the word of God, and that is how the healing power and healing resurrection takes place in our bodies. It's important to remember that the healing power of Jesus has not gone away, has not disappeared, has not been saved for a later time, has not been saved for when he returns, but it is always now. There's still people that are sick, there's still people who have diseases and Jesus is still in the healing business. And Jesus is still in the healing ministry, his healing power, the authority he carried and people marveled and they were astonished by the wonderful works that he did, and he still does them today.

Speaker 1

So what I would recommend for you is to dive more into the word of God. Look into the life of Jesus, how he continued to heal people and restored them, and know that he can also do that in your life. Well, thank you for tuning in. If you have not accepted Jesus into your life, say this salvation prayer with me. Heavenly Father, I admit that I have sinned. I repent. I believe in my heart you raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is Lord and my Savior. Right now I receive forgiveness by prayed that salvation prayer. Make sure that you plug yourself into a spirit-filled church and read the Word of God. Well, I hope you enjoy the message and thank you for tuning in.
