Hello, my name is Stephanie. Welcome to the All Is Well podcast. My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives. I'm glad you decided to join me today. Let's get started. Welcome to episode 29.

Speaker 1

In this episode I will discuss Psalm 91, and in this prayer it deals with fear, combats sickness, combats short life, because God gives us long life and protection as we come in and as we go out. Now let's get started. Let's turn on over to our Bible, to Psalm 91. So in Psalm 91, verse 1, it reads he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. So let's stop right there. He who dwells Dwells means to live, so we need to live with God shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. We are with God. So you have to be a child of God, spend time with Him. And then it says in verse 2, I will say of the Lord he is my refuge and my fortress, my God. In Him I will trust. So when you're dwelling with Him, you're in His shadow, you're living there and you are saying this with confidence that he is my refuge, refuge and my fortress, my God. In him I will trust. Verse 3, surely he shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with his feathers and under his wings you shall take refuge. We shall be safe with God. He's protecting us. His truth shall be our shield and buckler.

Speaker 1

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night. This talks about fear. Here. If you're afraid of the dark, afraid to go to sleep, have nightmares, whatever it may be, this is the prayer you should say too. I shall not be afraid of the terror by night, and also pray that God will give you sweet sleep, as it says in Proverbs.

Speaker 1

Let's read the end of verse 5. Nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness. Let's go back up to verse 5. These are all the things that he's letting us know that we shall not be afraid of. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night that's one. Nor by the arrow that flies by day that's two. Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness that's three. Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. Those four things, it doesn't matter if it comes during the day or the night. God says that I will protect you and you shall not be afraid. There is no fear with God. You shall not be afraid of anything that comes to attack you in the daytime or at night, because he is our shield.

Speaker 1

Verse 7, a thousand may fall at your side and 10,000 at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked. Verse 9, because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the most high, your dwelling place. So this goes back into verse 1. So we need to make God first place in our life. We need to make him that one that we turn to for everything and believe what he says, have faith in his word.

Speaker 1

It says here because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the most high, your dwelling place. That should be the place where you live, where you fellowship, where you let it change you from the inside out. And then it says in verse 10, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. This is when sickness tries to come in, diseases try to come in. God says evil shall not befall you when you're with me, when you're dwelling in my safety. No evil shall befall you and nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. No sickness. Dwelling is where you live. No sickness. It doesn't matter if it's the flu season or if they're saying on the news this disease is everywhere. It does not matter, because God says here. Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. It doesn't matter, god says. But you need to believe what the word says. If you know what it says but you're like no, but they said that we're going to get sick and we need to do this and we need to do that, that's fear and you're placing your trust in what man says. But when you read the word of God, there is faith and he tells us and he instructs us. He says no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. This won't come to you. I will protect you.

Speaker 1

11. For he shall give his angels charge over you. Now he has his angels watching over us To keep you in all your ways, to watch you, to guide you, to protect you. In their hands they shall bear you up Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent. You shall trample underfoot. This is what God allows us to do, this is what he helps us to do, and with the assistance of the angels, we're able to get through anything. It doesn't mean we're actually going to fight a lion and a serpent, but it means that we're able to get through anything because we are dwelling in the safety of God and the angels are there guiding us as well.

Speaker 1

Verse 14, because he has set his love upon me. Therefore, I will deliver him. God says you have loved me, you love me. He says I am going to deliver you. I will set him on high because he has known my name. So if you know his name, you love him. God will set you on high. Verse 15, he shall call upon me and I will answer him. When you call upon God, he answers you. It doesn't say that he doesn't answer you. It says that he does answer you. So if you love God, you know him, you dwell in his safety. He says when you call upon me, I will answer you. I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. So just because you find yourself in a difficult situation it's some trouble that you got yourself into doesn't mean you have to sit in it the entire time. God says I will deliver him and honor him. God can take you out of that situation. Verse 16, with long life, I will satisfy him and show him my salvation. God promises us long life.

Speaker 1

Don't compare the Bible with other people's situations. When you do that, that's when you begin to doubt God's word. When you say but this happened to so-and-so, this happened to my friend, this happened to my aunt, this happened to a co-worker You're saying that the situation in their life is stronger than the word of God. You need to remember and to believe the word of God is stronger and higher, above it all. The word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even through the division of soul, spirit, body and mind. So that is what it can do. So always go straight to the word. He will satisfy us, and it's not just long life where we're going to be miserable. He will satisfy us, and it's not just long life where we're going to be miserable. Long life, I will satisfy him. That's an enjoyable life, a good life.

Speaker 1

So, psalm 91, it is a prayer of protection. It is good to pray over yourself, to pray over your children, your family, people that you love and watch God move, watch God protect them, because you shouldn't be getting into accident after accident, sickness after sickness, going through all these hard times. As we read in Psalm 91, god doesn't say that I'm going to give you this trouble, I'm going to give you this sickness. He doesn't say that. He says that I will be there for you. He says do not fear, I will protect you. And he says too he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. God is protecting us, he's holding us, but remember we have to have faith in his word and not doubt. So as you're praying this, the places where it says you replace that with I. So I'm going to read this from the. I'm going to read Psalm 91, and that way you can see how I'm praying it. I'm going to put I. You can also say my family or someone else's name or your name, but of course, if you're praying it for yourself, you would say I. So that is what I'm going to do right now.

Psalm 91.

He who dwells in the sacred place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord.

He is my refuge and my fortress, my God.

In Him I will trust. Surely he shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover me with His feathers and under His wings I shall take refuge. His truth shall be my shield and buckler. I shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall not come near me. Only with my eyes shall I look and see the reward of the wicked. Only with my eyes shall I look and see the reward of the wicked, because I have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, my dwelling place. No evil shall befall me, nor shall any plague come near my dwelling, for he shall give His angels charge over me to keep me and all my ways In their hands. They shall bear me up lest I dash my foot against a stone. I shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent. I shall trample underfoot, because I have set my love upon God. Therefore, god will deliver me. God will set me on high because I have known his name. I shall call upon God and God will answer me. God will be with me in trouble. Do you see the difference there when I replace you with I? So go ahead.

Speaker 1

Whenever you are praying this prayer, put yourself in that place, or your family. Keep meditating on Psalm 91, the prayer of protection, and thank you for tuning in. If you have not accepted Jesus into your life, say the salvation prayer with me. Heavenly Father, I admit that I have sinned. I repent. I believe in my heart. You raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is Lord and my Savior. Right now I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. Come into my life. I am saved In Jesus name. Amen. I'm glad you prayed that salvation prayer. Make sure that you plug yourself into a spirit filled church and read the word of God. Well, I hope you enjoy the message and thank you for tuning in.
