Speaker 1:

Hello, my name is Stephanie. Welcome to the All Is Well podcast. My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives. I'm glad you decided to join me today. Let's get started. Welcome to episode 32. Welcome to episode 32.

Speaker 1:

In this episode, I'm going to discuss the Holy Spirit and you will discover how essential the Holy Spirit is. Also, what part does the Holy Spirit play in our lives? Let's dive in. Let's turn on over to our Bibles, to Acts, chapter 1, verses 4 and 5. Acts, chapter 1, verse 4.

Speaker 1:

And being assembled together with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which he said you have heard from me, for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the disciples because he's about to leave. And so he told them. Then, in verse 7, it reads and he said to them it is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in his own authority, but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and ye shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth. So we are not here to be weak, but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. Also, as we're looking at these scriptures on the Holy Spirit, you'll see how you will use it in your life and the reason why we have the Holy Spirit, because whenever Jesus was resurrected and he went up to heaven, we weren't left alone by ourselves. The Holy Spirit came down to earth to lead us into all truth, and so the Holy Spirit right now is here on earth. So we are not alone. We have the Holy Spirit, but we need to know how do we include him in our lives? Where is he? What do I need to do to activate the power of the Holy Spirit? So let's keep going.

Speaker 1:

Let's go to Acts, chapter 2, verse 1. When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place, and suddenly there came a sound from so this is one thing with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance so this is one thing that the Holy Spirit does. It says here Again. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as a fire and one sat upon each of them Verse 4 and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. So they were filled with the Holy Spirit. So they were filled with the Holy Spirit. And when they were, they began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance Verse 5,. And so when we receive the Holy Spirit, we're able to speak in other tongues, we're able to speak in God's language, we're able to speak in a way where we're able to get our prayers answered at another level, at a deeper level.

Speaker 1:

Let's go to verse 5. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven, and when this sound occurred, the multitude came together and were confused because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled. Let's go down to verse 12. So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another whatever could this mean? Because everyone was speaking in tongues. So some marveled at it, but others, mocking, said they are full of new wine. So when you hear people speak in tongues or you've heard about it are you on the side that's saying, oh, that's ridiculous, that's foolish, or are you marveled by it?

Speaker 1:

Then in verse 14, but this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel your young men shall see visions. Your old men shall dream dreams, and on my menservants and my maidservants I will pour out my Spirit in those days and they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth, beneath blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord, and it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. So Peter was letting the people know that this is what the prophet Joel spoke, that I will pour out my spirit on all, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy that the thing that they were seeing was the thing that was prophesied, that it would come to pass. And it is here still, and speaking in tongues. And the Holy Spirit is still here with us. Even if we may not see it or experience it, it is here.

Speaker 1:

Now let's go on over to our Bibles, to John, chapter 14, verse 26. Now let's go on to John, chapter 14, verse 16 and 17. And I will pray the Father and he will give you another helper that he may abide with you forever the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he dwells with you and will be with you. I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you. So this is what Jesus was telling the disciples and he's telling us too, that you will not be by yourselves. The spirit of truth, which is also the Holy Spirit, he'll come, and he says here, also the Holy Spirit, he'll come and he says here, for he dwells with you, he lives within us and he will be with us.

Speaker 1:

Let's jump down to verse 26 of chapter 14. But the helper, the Holy Spirit, so the Holy Spirit, is our helper. Whatever we need help with, whatever we need guidance in, the Holy Spirit is there to help us. But we have to ask. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach us all things. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, helps us, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach me all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you. Now let's go on over to Romans, chapter 8, verse 26.

Speaker 1:

In Romans, chapter 8, verse 26,. It makes us strong, for we do not know what we should pray for, as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession with us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Let's go back to that. This is a very useful scripture and we need to break it down and know what it's about. So, at the beginning of verse 26,. Likewise, the spirit also helps in our weaknesses, For we do not know what we should pray for, as we ought, right there. That is very important.

Speaker 1:

When we pray in our natural language, in English, when we pray in that language, we're praying from what we can see naturally. If it's healing we need in our bodies, or healing for someone, or for a job or breakthrough, whatever it may be, when we're praying in English that it only gets to certain points. It doesn't get to those areas that it exactly needs to get to. You know sometimes when you're praying and you may be thinking well, I've been praying for this situation over and over, but nothing's happening, it's still at the same point, I'm still sick, I'm still here, nothing's changing, but I'm praying.

Speaker 1:

But it says here For we do not know what we should pray for, as we ought, when you pray in tongues, when we receive the Holy Spirit, we pray in tongues, and so when you pray in tongues, that is a heavenly language, so the Holy Spirit is bearing witness with our spirit, and so you're praying for the things that you ought to pray for. So if you're praying for healing in your body or in someone else's body, or you need that promotion at your job or a family issue, whatever it may be, when you're praying and speaking in tongues, you're able to get to those areas because the Holy Spirit is guiding you. The Holy Spirit knows exactly what to touch on. The Holy Spirit knows exactly how you should pray, and so that's why it's so important, as Christians, not just to pray in English, but also to pray in tongues, because when we pray in tongues, our prayers will be answered. We will begin to hear from Him at a higher level. We'll begin to know things because we are inviting the Spirit. That's how we communicate with the Holy Spirit. And then it says here but the Spirit Himself makes intercession with us because he's connecting with our spirit.

Speaker 1:

What is it that we need, even if there is nothing going on, but maybe protection for that day, or to guide us with that day, giving us wisdom. When we pray in tongues about that and speak it, we're able to touch those areas and the Holy Spirit is able to walk us into the right path, walk us into the right truth, and this is a key element in prayer. We should be adding this to our prayer life, and when you do, you will definitely see your life change. So if you have not added this to your life, this is something to add, and so what I would recommend is for you to study this and find more teachings on speaking in tongues and the Holy Spirit and inviting the Holy Spirit into your it. Or if you're brand new to it, it may sound awkward or weird, and it's because you're not used to it. We don't go to the store and just start talking like that or going to work. It's something private, and so if you're not exposed to that, but you want to begin to speak this way and pray in tongues, it could be a little awkward. So the more that you practice this and you hear other ministers teaching on speaking on tongues and things of that nature, then you're able to become more comfortable with it and you're able to learn on how to implement the Holy Spirit and this type of prayer in your life.

Speaker 1:

Let's go to one more scripture 1 Corinthians, chapter 14, verse 2,. But he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him. However, in the Spirit, he speaks mysteries, because when you speak in tongues, your natural mind cannot comprehend it, but your spirit does. Verse 3, but he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. Verse 4,. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself. It lifts up your spirit. You can feel the difference.

Speaker 1:

What I would recommend is for you to go over these scriptures in 1 Corinthians 14 2-4, acts 1 4-5, acts 2, john 14, and Romans 8 26. Meditate on these scriptures, know who the Holy Spirit is and invite the Holy Spirit into your life and you will begin to see miraculous changes in your life.
