Welcome to All Is Well Podcast
Speaker 1Hello, my name is Stephanie. Welcome to the All Is Well podcast. My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives. I'm glad you decided to join me today. Let's get started. Welcome to episode 36. Have you ever wondered why God needs you to do what he's assigned you to do? Or have you wondered what is the call of God on my life? Well, in today's episode, we are going to look into those things. Now let's dive in. Let's turn on over in our Bibles to Jeremiah, chapter 1. In Jeremiah, chapter 1, verse 4,.
God's Purpose Despite Our Limitations
Speaker 1So right now, the Lord, he's speaking to Jeremiah and he's telling him that he knew him. And that's the same way with you and I. Before we were born, god knew us. Before we were formed in the womb, god knew us. Then the Lord goes on to say Before you were born, I sanctified you. I ordained you a prophet to the nations. So God was telling him this was the purpose that I have for you. I ordained you a prophet to the nations. So God was telling him this was the purpose that I have for you. This is the reason why you were born. Before he was even in his mother's womb, god said I ordained you a prophet to the nations. So there is something that God has for you and I. Maybe we are doing what he's called us to do, or maybe we haven't jumped into it yet, but there is a purpose that God has for each and every one of us. Let's go on. Then said I Ah, lord, god behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth. Right there. His response he's doubting. He thinks, because he is a youth, that he cannot do what God has told him that he could do. But he certainly can, because even before Jeremiah was even born, god said I want him to be a prophet to the nations. So being a youth did not bother God whatsoever, because when God assigns us to something, we are not doing it on our own. He is there with us. He's leading us, guiding us, protecting us, giving us wisdom to do what he wants us to do Because there is a reason, there is a purpose. It's not to do just because or because we need to do something. There is a reason, there is a purpose. It's not to do just because or because we need to do something. There is a reason, there is a purpose.
Speaker 1God wants you to do what he's assigned you to do, but God didn't take his answer. God didn't say you're right, you're a youth, let's hold on, let's hold off, he said. But the Lord said to me do not say I am a youth. So whatever you're thinking, well, I'm not qualified, I'm not capable, I'm too young, I'm too old. God says do not say that.
Speaker 1God doesn't look at those situations. God doesn't look at the outer appearance. God doesn't look what you think you're still lacking. When God has assigned you to do something, that's what he wants you to do. He's not looking to you to say okay, do you think that you could do this? He knows that you can't do it without him. That's why, whenever there's something that he's assigned us to do, we are doing it together with him. Then he goes on to do we are doing it together with him. Then he goes on to say do not say I am a youth, for you shall go to all whom I send you and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord. So God told him what he wanted him to do and at at the end he says I'm going to be with you to deliver you. You're not going to be doing this by yourselves. It may seem like a daunting task that God has assigned to you, something that he wants you to do, but God says I will deliver you, I will be with you, I will walk with you every step of the way.
Pursuing Your Divine Assignment
Speaker 1Verse 9,. Then the Lord put forth his hand and touched my mouth. God was anointing him right here. God was getting ready to bless him and the Lord said to me God gave him wisdom because he needed to speak to the nations. Verse 10, see, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant. So yes, he wanted him to be a prophet to the nations, but there's a reason why. There is a reason, there is a plan, there is a purpose. God says this is what I want you to do. I have set this day over the nations and over the kingdoms. What you are going to do is to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant. The things that he's going to destroy do not line up with God, but he's going to build and to plant the things that line up with God. So that is another thing.
Speaker 1When God has you assigned to something, especially a child of God, he is putting you in place, he is putting you in that position so you can line that place up with the word of God. How does God want that place to be? How does God want that company to be? How does God want that company to be? How does God want that ministry to be? Because God's children can hear His voice, god's leading them.
Speaker 1If you are not the child of God, then you can't hear His voice. Just like it says in the New Testament, god is the shepherd, we are the sheep. So we hear his voice. So when he's speaking to us, he's listening to us. We know his wants, his desires, where he wants to take us. But people who are not the sheep, they cannot follow his voice, they don't know what God wants. So then God puts his people in charge of things. And so when he's in charge of things, when he puts us in charge of things, then we're able to build charge of things. When he puts us in charge of things, then we're able to build things and to destroy things Well, in the good way, not knocking things down, but we're able to build and to plant things the way that God wants for it to be done, because there's a lot of things that we don't see. We think that we see everything or that we know everything about a situation or whatever it may be, but God is the one that sees it all. He sees what happened in the past, what's happening now and what's going to happen in the future. So when he's called you to a time and to a place, you need to go at that specific time, because you're going to be there right when you need to be, and then everything will line up according to how it should be.
Speaker 1Now let's continue in verse 11. Tree. Then the Lord said to me you have seen well, for I am ready to perform my word. And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying what do you see? And I said I see a boiling pot and it is facing away from the north. Then the Lord spoke to him. But let's go back At first. God said what do you see? And he said that he saw a branch of an almond tree. Then the Lord said to him so when we are ready. We see how he wants us to see. We are in that position, then God is ready to perform his word.
Speaker 1Let's jump down to verse 17. Therefore, prepare yourself and arise. And so God is saying these things to Jeremiah. He's saying, therefore, prepare yourself and arise and speak to them all that I command you. Because God was using Jeremiah to speak to Israel, to speak to the nations. He didn't like what they were doing, so he needed a prophet to speak to them. And so God told him prepare yourself and arise. So when God has assigned us something to do, it's not just Him doing the work, we have to do the work as well.
Speaker 1And so what he told Jeremiah here? He said prepare yourself and arise, get ready. Whatever you need to do, whatever you've been assigned to do, you know that it's coming up Prepare yourself, get ready, because it's coming. You want to be ready, you don't want to be. Well, I'm not finished, I haven't got that yet. I'm not at that point. You want to be ready.
Speaker 1And again, god's given him wisdom. He said and speak to them all. That I command you, do not be dismayed before their faces, lest I dismay you before them. God says be confident in what I tell you, listen to my instruction, for behold, I have what you're going to come against. You're going to come against these things, he says. I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar. This is what you are. And you're going to come against the whole land. That sounds fantastic, doesn't it? It doesn't. That kind of thing makes you want to back away. But Jeremiah knew that he needed to obey the voice of the Lord. He says you're going to be against the whole land. Not only that, but against the kings of Judah, all the kings, the princess, the priest, and against the people of the land, that is, everyone in that land. They're going to fight him. But what does God say? But they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, says the Lord, to deliver you, because God needed one person. He needed the prophet Jeremiah to speak to the nations, to speak to Israel, to tell them, to tell all the people in the land, what needed to be done, because God was not pleased with their conduct.
Closing Prayer and Salvation Invitation
Speaker 1So what we've learned is that there is a purpose that each of us need to do. There's something that either we're doing it right now or we know within our hearts. There's something that we're thinking about that. We know that we need to do that. We haven't done yet, so we already know, but most of the time we haven't proceeded to do what we need to do. So we need to pursue what God has assigned us to do, what he's called us to do. God said I already knew, I already know your weaknesses. God doesn't need us to be perfect. He needs our willingness, he needs our obedience, and when he has that, then he's able to unite with us and he's able to lead us and guide us and protect us and deliver us from that, even if it doesn't seem very good, because the way that God was describing it to Jeremiah, it didn't sound like it was going to be a fun job, because he was going to come against the whole land. He had to speak to them and tell them these things that the Lord was commanding him to tell them. So there were going to be some times that it wasn't going to be fun, but it wasn't about being fun, it wasn't about feeling good. It was about listening to God and what God wanted him to do, because God was anointing him, god was giving him the wisdom and God was showing him exactly where he needed to go.
Speaker 1So for you, think about yourself. What is it in your life that you need to do? What is it in your life that you need to fulfill? Because there is something that God has told each and every one of us Either we're doing it now or we need to go to another level. Are there any doubts? Is there anything that's holding us back? Let's recognize those and understand that God knows what our weaknesses are. He's aware of our strengths, and so he wouldn't have told us if he didn't think that we could do it. We have Him to lead us and show us the right way to go. We're not in it by ourselves, but sometimes it may feel like it. But we need to remember that we're not, and so that's another reason to start your day meditating on the word of God and doing that on a consistent basis, and doing that daily, day and night. When we do that, we're strengthening our spirit with the word of God and our spirit man, and then it's easier to obey and to follow the word of the Lord, because we know what he wants us to do and then understand it, that it's not just about us, it's about the people that we're going to impact around us. So let's say your prayer in closing God, I pray for the people out there that are listening to this episode.
Speaker 1Thank you, god, that, whatever that you have called them to do, thank you, god that they are stepping out in faith, that they are not doubting, that they don't have any fear and, if they do, god, thank you, god that they are clinging to your word and they are following through with what you've said in the name of Jesus. And thank you, god that you're leading them, guiding them and protecting them and showing them the right way to go. And thank you, god, that you are delivering them from it all. In Jesus' name, we pray Amen. If this episode helped you in any way, share it with a friend or a family member. Thank you for tuning in and don't forget to tune in for the next episode.
