Ever wonder why life feels stuck even when you’re doing “all the right things”? We open Proverbs 3 and trace a clear path from simple obedience to profound outcomes: peace that steadies your mind, favor that opens doors you can’t, guidance that redirects your steps, health that renews your body, and overflow that funds generosity. This isn’t a promise of a frictionless life; it’s a blueprint for walking through pressure with God’s strength and clarity.

We start with long life and peace anchored in God’s word, then contrast Jesus’ enduring peace with the world’s fragile calm from John 14:27. From there, we unpack why mercy and truth are more than virtues—they’re magnets for favor. Using Psalm 44:3 and the life of Joseph in Genesis 39, we show how God’s favor looks in real time: unexpected trust, unlikely promotion, and battles won without your effort. If favor can raise a prisoner to leadership, it can meet you in any setting you’re facing today.

Trust becomes the turning point. “Lean not on your own understanding” transforms how you make choices—careers, purchases, relationships, and conversations. Psalm 37:23 reveals the promise behind it: ordered steps, not guesswork. We also tackle health and healing through 1 Peter 2:24, showing how Christ’s finished work speaks to your body as well as your soul. Finally, we explore honoring God with firstfruits and why generosity is training for abundance, with Malachi 3:10 painting a picture of open windows and overflow.

If you’re ready to swap striving for direction and anxiety for peace, this conversation lays out the steps. Listen, share with someone who needs courage today, and hit follow so you never miss a message. If the episode helped you, leave a review and tell us where you’re trusting God next.

Hello, my name is Stephanie. Welcome to the All Is Well Podcast. My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives. I'm glad you decided to join me today. Let's get started. Hello, welcome to episode 46. Have you ever wondered why things are not happening the way that you want them to? Or no matter how hard you try, you keep running into the same things and you just want them to get better? Well, if you're a child of God, things should be getting better for you. God gives us his word and in his word, he provides us wisdom. So let's dive deeper into the word and find out. Let's get started. Now, let's turn on over to our Bibles to Proverbs chapter 3. So in Proverbs chapter 3, it reads, My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you. Proverbs is a book of wisdom. So right here we go on, and God says, I want you to keep my commands and do not forget my law, which means read my Bible, know what they are, and obey them. And so he says, When you do that, this is what's tied to it. So what's tied to it, he says, is length of days and long life. That's what he promises us, long life, right there when we keep his commands. And then it says, and peace, they will add to you. This comes to you, long life and peace. He doesn't say a chaotic life, everything a mess. It's peace, God's peace. Not as a world gives, but as God gives. So let's turn on over to John chapter 14, verse 27 to learn more about God's peace. So in John chapter 14, verse 27, it reads, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. So when we're attached with God, he says here, peace I leave with you. It's not as the same thing as the world, because you can be going through something but still experience his peace. His peace comes in our heart and it comes our mind. So that's the benefit of knowing his word and following him and becoming a child of God is that we will have his peace and we will have long life on the earth. Next, in verse 3 in Proverbs, it reads, Let not mercy and truth forsake you. So what is it that God wants us to have? He wants us to have mercy and truth. What is the truth? The truth of God's word. That's what he wants us to have. He says, Don't let them leave you. I need you to keep mercy and truth with you. Write them so close to you that when someone comes and tells you something, you would say, Oh, I know what the word says. This is what I need to do. And then what is attached to that? When you do that, what will happen? And God says in verse 4, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. So when I do not let go of mercy and truth, and I keep them so close to me, which means I'm going to follow them, then favor will come upon your life. And favor is a good thing. And it says that it'll come to you in the sight of God and man. You're going to see it. So what is favor? We're going to look at a couple of verses that'll help explain favor. And so that way we can learn more about favor too. So the first one, let's go to Psalm chapter 44, verse 3. So in Psalm chapter 44, verse 3, it reads, For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them. But it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your countenance, because you favored them. So favor means that God will take care of things for you. You wonder, someone will come up to you and say, Here, this is for you. I've got this, I'll take care of it. So that's the way that God is with us. He's taking care of things for us, which means favor produces battles won, which you won't even fight because God will fight them for you. Let's go to another scripture. Genesis 39, verse 21. In Genesis chapter 39, verse 21, it reads, But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and he gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. So if you don't know the story of Joseph, Joseph was betrayed by his brothers because his father favored him and he wore a colorful coat. So they gave him up. He became a slave in Egypt. He went through this horrible time. He ended up getting locked up in prison. There's more to that. But he ended up getting locked up in prison. But then when he was there, he wasn't treated like a prisoner. He gained favor among the rulers of that prison. And so God elevated him in prison. Even though things didn't go well for him in life because of the way that his brothers treated him, God's hand was always on Joseph's life because Joseph was always listening to God, was following God, wanted to do his commandments and wanted to obey him. Joseph always had favor with God. And so as we read again here, it says, But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and he gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prisoner. So it was different for him. So as we keep on reading in verse 22, it says, And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever they did there, it was his doing. The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph's authority, because the Lord was with him, and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper. So, as you can see here, Joseph prospered in prison. So if Joseph prospered in prison and he had favor in prison, do you think you and I can experience God's favor and prosper? Of course we can. So as you can see here, like the amazing thing too that happened with Joseph, he was in charge of the prisoners. He was able to do those things. And it says here in 23, the keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph's authority, which means he trusted him. He trusted a prisoner. Are you supposed to trust prisoners? No. You need to have a close watch on them. Anyone who works in the prison system would say that. But with Joseph, it wasn't like that. He gained favor in the sight of that keeper, in the sight of God. And so the Lord was with him, and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper. So Joseph prospered. He did not suffer in prison. Things went well with him. Things were well because God favored him. And that can happen to you in your life. You don't need to be going through one challenge after another, one trial after another. Have God's word in your heart. Gain wisdom. What is God telling you to do about the specific situation? If he didn't give you wisdom, if he didn't give you guidance in that, then you shouldn't be doing that particular thing. Gain wisdom from the word. Seek God in all your doings, even if it may seem simple to you. Ask God, God, what should I do about this? Should I buy this vehicle? Should I take on this job? Seek the wisdom of God. What does he want you to do? Have the truth of God. Have his word so close to your heart that you'll know what to do. And when you do this, God says, I will give you favor in high esteem in the sight of God and man. So then things will go well for you. You'll begin to prosper in whatever you're doing. Let's continue to verse five. It reads, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. So it's saying here, just what I mentioned briefly before. God is saying, Trust in me with all of your heart, not part of your heart, but all of it, and lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge God. So he's saying, Don't just go on your own understanding. This is what I know, so this is what I'm going to do. But it says, in all your ways, acknowledge him. Because we have to remember God's ways and thoughts are better and higher than ours. So he knows what we should do. So he says that when we seek him and we acknowledge him in all of our ways, then he says this, and he shall direct our paths. So instead of us leading ourselves, God is leading us. He'll say, Go this way, go that way, don't go over there. I want you to come over here. And God is not going to lead you into the wrong path. He's not going to lead you to turmoil and trials and stress. He's going to lead you to peace and to favor. And so let's read another scripture about direction. Let's go to Psalm chapter 37, verse 23. So in Psalm chapter 37, verse 23, it reads, The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delights in his way. This verse goes with the one that we just read. And so it says, The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. That's God guiding us. He's leading us. He's saying, Go here, go there. And it says, and he delights in his way. God is delighting in us when we listen to him, when we follow him, when we're asking him, God, what do you want me to do? Where do you want me to go? What do you want me to say? Even that point. What do you want me to say? Because sometimes our words, our mouth can get us into trouble. So on everything God says, in all your ways to acknowledge Him. Let's go back to Proverbs chapter 3 and verse 7. Do not be wise in your own eyes, but fear the Lord and to part from evil, for it will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones. Again, he's saying, Don't be wise just in your own eyes, but fear the Lord and depart from evil means follow God and leave evil. So God says to fear the Lord and depart from evil. When you do those things, he says, it will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones. That's healing to your bodies, restoration to your bodies. God does not want you sick. So let's turn to a scripture on healing. Let's go to 1 Peter chapter 2, verse 24. So in 1 Peter chapter 2, verse 24, it reads, Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness, by whose stripes you were healed. So this scripture already tells us that we are already healed. It doesn't say that we will be healed, that we might be healed. It says by whose stripes you were healed. That's past tense. Because Jesus already died on the cross for us, and on that tree, it says, Who Himself bore our sins in his own body on that tree? That we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness. By whose stripes we were healed. We're already healed. God wants us to be healed. Remember that. Don't forget that. So let's continue in Proverbs chapter 3, verse 9. It says, Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first fruits of all your increase. He wants us to honor him with our possessions. And then it reads, So why? So our barns be filled with plenty, and our vats will overflow with new wine. That's having enough and an overflow. Remember, God is a God of an overflow. He is an overflow God. He's not going to give you something so you could barely get by. God is a God of overflow because He wants us to give when when we give, then the overflow comes. Let's read a scripture that is attached to that. Let's go to Malachi chapter 3, verse 10. In Malachi chapter 3, verse 10 it reads, Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And try me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be enough room to receive it. So what is God saying here? It's the same thing that we read before. God says that when we give our tithe and offering into the house of the Lord, he says, What will I do for you? He says, I will open up the windows of heaven for you, and I'm going to pour for you a blessing. What kind of blessing? A blessing that's just a little bit to barely get by? No. It says, And I will pour out for you such a blessing that there will not be enough room to receive it. That's an overflow. God is a God of overflow. He's asking us, it's not that he needs our money. It's a blessing. Blessing upon blessing. Now, as we look in these scriptures in Proverbs chapter 3, there is a condition, there is a requirement, there was something that God wanted us to do. And when we followed those things, it was attached with a blessing that He was going to give us. Because it's about knowing His word, knowing the truth, acknowledging God in all of our ways. And when we do all of that, this is applying wisdom. You want to be wise, you want things to go well for you, then follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Follow what the Bible is telling you to do. That is how things will go well in your life. God's peace will come to you. You'll experience his favor in every area of your life. When you ask him, he'll give you his direction. He'll take you places that you never even thought of because he thinks differently than we do. He has a plan for each and every one of us. And he's leading us to that plan, that purpose for our lives. Health, he promises us, he's giving us, and it tells us how we can obtain that health and healing in our bodies and an overflow, an overflow in everything, including financially. So, did I mention anything here that was about struggling, that was about trials, difficulties? Nothing like that. Doesn't mean you won't go through those, but God says, This is what I've given you. This is what I want for you. I want peace. I want favor for you. I want you to have health. I want you to have an overflow in everything. God says, I want to bless the work of your hands, and everything will go well for you in your life. What I would recommend for you to do is spend time in the Word of God. In the Bible, it says to meditate on my word day and night. He wants us to meditate on his word day and night, read the word day and night. And then it says that all may go well with you. And watch when you do, then you will see that peace, the favor, his leading, health in your bodies, and an overflow come to your life. Your life will be different from before. It can't be the same. When you're following God, your life will not be the same. It can't be the same. If any of this helped you, send it to a friend or family member and tune in for the next episode. If you have not accepted Jesus into your life, say the salvation prayer with me. Heavenly Father, I admit that I have sinned. I repent. I believe in my heart you raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is Lord and my Savior. Right now, I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. Come into my life. I am saved. In Jesus' name. Amen. I'm glad you prayed that salvation prayer. Make sure that you plug yourself into a spirit filled church and read the word of God. Well, I hope you enjoy the message and thank you for tuning in.
