What if a clear view of God could change the way you love, worship, and make choices every day? I open scripture and trace four anchors of God’s nature—love, spirit, light, and liberty—and show how each one reshapes real life with courage, hope, and integrity. This is a warm, Bible-centered conversation designed to be both devotional and practical, guiding you to move from knowledge to action without fluff or jargon.

I start with the simple yet truth that God is love. Not vague sentiment, but the cross-shaped love that sends, saves, and sustains. From there, I explore what it means to worship in spirit and truth—surrender that goes deeper than songs and runs through habits, schedules, and motives. Then turn to God as light, where honesty replaces hiding, confession becomes normal, and fellowship grows strong because truth removes pretenses. Finally, we talk liberty: where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Freedom from lies, shame, and cycles that once felt unbreakable, and freedom for obedience, joy, and a steady heart.

You’ll also hear a concise look at timeless attributes—God’s self-existence, eternity, unchangeableness, and infinitude. I offer simple next steps: open the Bible with intention, worship with your whole heart, walk in the light without excuses, and practice one concrete act of love today. We close with prayer and an invitation to follow Jesus, pointing you toward a life rooted in the Word and alive to God’s presence.

If this helped you see God more clearly, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review. Your reflections help others find the show and grow in love, light, and freedom.

Welcome And Mission

SPEAKER_00

Hello, my name is Stephanie. Welcome to the All Is Well Podcast. My mission is to teach people the Word of God and emphasize its importance in their daily lives. I'm glad you decided to join me today. Let's get started. Hello. Welcome to episode 47. In this episode, we are going to discuss the nature of God. Who is God? It's important that we know Him. We know who Jesus is. We know who the Holy Spirit is. But do we truly know who God is? Well, in today's episode, we are going to dive in into the nature of God. Let's get started. So, what I want to begin with and what I've mentioned before, think of this as a Bible study. When you're having a Bible study, it's good to have the Bible in front of you. This is a good topic to study and know about. This is something that we really need to know about, the nature of God. So if you don't have time, like if you're driving, make sure to make time later where you're sitting down and listening and writing down your notes about the nature of God. So let's start this off with 1 John 4, verse 8. And so in the book of John, John he gives three descriptions of God. And the three descriptions are spirit, love, and light. So the first one we're going to go over is his love. So let's turn to 1 John chapter 4, verse 8. And I'm going to read in verse 7. I'm going to start there. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. So if you know God, you are going to love. Why? Because God is love, that is who he is. So if we know who he is, we're going to do what he's requiring us to do. Love people. And so it says here, if we don't love like he does, if we don't love, then we don't know God. We don't know who he is. And how did he show his love for us? In this, the love of God was manifested toward us that God sent his one and only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him. So God demonstrated his love for us by sending his one and only Son to die on the cross for us. And so by him doing that, he showed his love for us and how much that he loved us, how much that he cared for us, and so he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for us so that we can have eternal life. That's what he did for you and I. And then it reads in verse 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. Think about the sacrifice that God made. So he's saying, if God can do that for us, then we can surely love one another. Because that's what God wants us to do. He doesn't want us to spread hate. That is what the enemy does. But God is not that. So let's go to his spirit. Let's turn to our Bibles to John chapter 4, verse 24. So in John chapter 4, verse 24, this is about the Spirit, the description of God. Let's start on verse 21. Jesus said to her, Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father. You worship what you do not know. We know what we worship for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming and now is when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. For the Father is seeking such to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. Now there is something, if you notice, God is love, and then he requires us to love, right? And in this verse here too, it says, God is spirit, and then it says, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. So it's like what God is doing, or because of who he is, he's requiring that from us as well. And it's saying to worship him in spirit and truth, it's because of God and it's because of who he is. We're worshiping him. When we're in church, we're not just singing a song or we're not just standing up and watching the screen. That is not what worship is. Worship can be in many forms. But one of the ways to worship God and to surrender to him is during worship when you're singing, is to raise your hands. You're not doing it for anyone. You're doing it for him. You're saying, I love you, God. I worship you. Thank you, God, for what you've done. Thank you, God, for who you are. That's what you're doing when you're lifting your hands up, when you're praising him. Do you think when you go to heaven, you're just going to stand there and not say anything? You're not. You're going to fall down to your knees. How powerful and strong that he is. Let's recognize who God truly is and worship him as we should, and love as we should. Now let's keep going. What else does he describe? He says the light. So let's turn to 1 John chapter 1, verse 5. So in 1 John chapter 1, verse 5, this is the message which we have heard from him and declare to you that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. So God is light, no darkness whatsoever. Verse 6. If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, Christ, his son, cleanses us from all sin. So just as I mentioned before, God is love, he wants us to love. Now it says here, God is light, so if he's in the light, then we need to be in light as well. So it says here that if we say that we have fellowship with him, but then walk in darkness, we're not telling the truth because those two don't go hand in hand. But it says, but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another. Because if we walk with him, we're going to walk in the light. You can't walk with him and walk in darkness. It doesn't make sense. Those two things can't coincide with each other. It's just like right now where you're living. It's either nighttime or it's either daytime. We don't have both at the same time. Or if you turn off your light in your home, it's dark. But once you turn on that switch, it's light again. You can't have both. But if you think about it that way, when you turn on the light, light overcomes darkness. Light is stronger than darkness. So therefore, God is stronger than darkness. God is stronger than the enemy. Than the enemy all around. It doesn't matter what it may look like on the outside, it doesn't matter what we're going through, God is stronger and more powerful than all of that. We went over the three descriptions that John gave of God, which were the spirit, love, and light. So I'm going to read a little bit more about what my Bible says here in the footnotes about God. It says God is a spiritual being who is invisible and without a body. He is a divine person who reveals himself in perfect intellect, emotion, and will. He is the source and personification of all material and spiritual life. He is self-existent. He is eternal in relationship to time. He is unlimited in relationship to the immensity of space. And he is consistent in his being. That is, he corresponds in actual fact to his nature and attributes as they are revealed to us. Now isn't that powerful to know who God really is? So here are other things that we do know about God. God is self-existence. He created himself from the very beginning. That's hard for our minds to comprehend because with us, there's always a beginning to something, to our own lives, to anything. But to God, he was always here. Unchangeableness. God does not change, nor he can ever change. He's the same yesterday, he'll be the same tomorrow. He doesn't change. What he promised us before, he still has that for us. Infinitude. That also goes with self-existence, because self-existence, he created himself. So if he created himself and he was always here, then God will always be here. There will never be an anti God. Without these things that we've discussed today, God would not be God. These things make up God. Another thing that I would like to add is liberty. Freedom. So let's turn on over to 2 Corinthians chapter 3 verse 17. So this is with liberty. 2 Corinthians chapter 3 verse 17. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Freedom. But we all with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. So it's saying, Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty, which means there is freedom. Freedom for us. So that's what God provides. Let's read more of that in John chapter 8, verse 32. In John chapter 8, verse 32, it says, If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. What will make you free? Knowing who God is, knowing Jesus, knowing the word, that is the truth that will set you free. Nothing else in the world can give you the type of freedom that God can give. So as a recap, what we've learned today about the nature of God is that he's spirit, he is love, he is light, he is liberty. These things make up God and who he is. And so just as I read in the beginning, where God is love, so he wants us to love. God is spirit, so he wants us to worship him in spirit and truth. God is light, so if he is light and we spend time with him, then we should also be in the light and not participate in darkness, because those two don't go hand in hand. So what I would recommend for you to do, again, and what I always say, and it is the truth, spend time and know the word. But also spend time and know who God is. He is the creator of the universe, he is the one that created you and I. He is the one that has a purpose and plan for your life. And he is the one that is instructing us to follow Him and obey Him. So read the Word, have a passion for it, have a hunger for the Word, have a thirst for it, like it says in the Bible, hunger and thirst for righteousness. Crave it, desire it, spend more time with him, make it a commitment. And when you do that, it'll become a habit and you'll start learning more, you'll start growing more, and you'll start to see that your life is changing. And especially if you start to know who is the God that I serve, who is the God that created me? What does He want me to do? What is my purpose here on earth? We're not here just because we're here because God has a purpose for our lives. There is something that He wants us to fulfill. Now, before we close, I will end in prayer. So let's do so. Thank you, God, for every listener that is listening right now. Thank you, God, that they will know who you are. They will know the true nature of God. Thank you, God, that we will love others just as you have loved us. Thank you, God, that we will worship you in spirit and truth. Thank you, God, that just as you are the light, that we will also walk in the light as well. And thank you, God, for leading us and guiding us and protecting us and showing us the right way to go. Amen. If this message helped you in any way, share it with a friend or family member. And thank you for tuning in. And stay tuned for the next episode. If you have not accepted Jesus into your life, say this salvation prayer with me. Heavenly Father, I admit that I have sinned. I repent. I believe in my heart you raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth, Jesus is Lord and my Savior. Right now, I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. Come into my life. I am saved. In Jesus' name, amen. I'm glad you pray that salvation prayer. Make sure that you plug yourself into a spirit filled church and read the Word of God. Well, I hope you enjoy the message and thank you for tuning in.
