Then we go to Exodus 14 and the Red Sea story, where Moses is told to stretch out his hand and move forward even while trapped between danger and water. That moment makes the theme practical: believing God for the impossible often includes a clear instruction and an action step, not just a private hope. 

We also unpack Ephesians 3:20 and the promise that God can do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, along with a grounding reminder from James 2 that faith without works is dead. Why Faith Pleases God

Welcome to Episode 61. Did you know that it is impossible to please God without faith? For he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. So let's get started with today's message of believing God for the impossible. So believing God for the impossible. Let's turn to our Bibles to Hebrews chapter 11 verse one. Now we're gonna start off with what is faith? And it tells us right here in Hebrews, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So it's something that we can't see yet, but we hope for it, for by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. So like I said before, if we go down to verse six, but without faith it is impossible to please him. We need faith to please God. God requires faith from us. And it says as we continue on, for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. God requires us to have faith. He wants us to believe for the impossible. And he said, Let me just wait until I see the scars on your hand. Then later, Jesus showed, whenever he was resurrected, he showed the scars on his hand, and then he marveled that he was the son of God. But he had little faith. He needed to see first before he believed. And that's not the way that God works. Faith pleases God. And he says, Blessed are the ones for they believe. God requires us to believe. Believe for things that we can't see. Because with God, He wants to do the impossible for us. He can do the impossible. He is able to do the impossible. Nothing is too hard and nothing is too difficult for our God. But if we don't think He can do it, then He can't do it for us. It's out of His hands. We need to have the faith and stretch our faith for the impossible. So we shouldn't see before we believe. It doesn't work that way. Because that's not who God is. At the beginning of

Moses And The Red Sea

the creation of the world, what did God do? He spoke and then it came to pass. He spoke, he said, Let there be light, there was light. Let there be waters, there was water. Let there be day and night, day and night occurred. He didn't see it and then called it by its name. He did it the opposite way. He spoke it into existence. That was faith. So that is who God is from the very beginning of creation. So if God is that way and we are his children, don't you think that he wants us to do the same thing too? Speaking things into existence, lining up with the word of God, the things that we say. If we speak contrary to the word of God, God can't work and God can't move. But when we speak according to the word of God, and when we speak with faith in our mouths, then God can move. That gets him to move, that gets him to do stuff, that gets him to move in our lives because God enjoys and loves doing the impossible because that is who he is. Faith allows the impossible to move, which means that God will move in our lives. And in any situation that we need him to, financial healing, a breakthrough, relationships, anything, no matter what it is, God can do it. God moves on faith, not on unbelief. That's doubting, like doubting Thomas. He doesn't work that way. Nothing is too hard for God. God doesn't do simple things, He does impossible things. We don't need God for easy things, things we can do on our own. God likes impossible things. What can God do for you? What is something in your life that you're not able to do on your own? Because if we can do it on our own strength, that's not the impossible. But when we need God, that's the impossible. That it can only be done if God comes in that is believing God for the impossible. So let's turn to our Bibles to Exodus chapter 14 verse 15. So in Exodus chapter 14, verse 15, this is the story of the Israelites with Moses, and the Egyptians were after them. So right here in verse fifteen it reads, And the Lord said to Moses, Why do you cry to me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea, and I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them. So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots and his horsemen, then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gained honor for myself over Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen. And the angel of God who went before the camp of Israel moved and went behind them, and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night. Verse twenty one, then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea. That is the instruction that God gave him. He told him to stretch out his hand. He didn't doubt. He did it, that was the action piece, having faith. And the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into the dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea, on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on the right hand and on their left, and the Egyptians pursued and went after them, into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. So Moses obeyed God. He obeyed him. And the Lord told him to stretch out his hand over the sea, and when he would do that, the Lord will cause the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night he would cause the waters to divide. That took faith. He could have said, What is that going to do? I can't do that. That's not going to happen. He could have been under so much pressure that it was hard for him to believe, but he didn't. He did what God instructed him to do, and he had faith that God could do the impossible. twenty four. Now it came to pass in the morning, watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and he troubled the army of the Egyptians, and he took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty, and the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians. Then the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots and on their horsemen. And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and when the morning appeared the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh. They came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained, but the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt, so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord and his servant Moses. So you can see that God did the impossible for Moses and the Israelites. He saved them from the Egyptians. He parted the waters. There was faith that Moses needed to have. He parted the waters and allowed Moses and the Israelites to cross the ocean. And as soon as they crossed the ocean, of course, the Egyptians were following them right after. Then Moses was instructed to lift up his rod again, and so that way God could close that gap in the ocean. And so what he did there is he protected his people, he listened to their request, but they had faith. Moses had faith, and so he acted on that faith. Think about it. If Moses didn't have faith, if he didn't lift up his rod like he was instructed by the Lord, God could not have divided the sea as he did. When the Lord is asking us to believe for things, and he's requiring us to use our faith and to stretch our faith, he will also require us to move, to do something. It's not just us believing, but it's action that is tied to it, just as we saw here with Moses.

God Does Exceedingly Abundantly

Let's also turn to Ephesians chapter three. Now in Ephesians chapter three verse twenty it reads, Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. So as it says here, now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly, that is God. Whatever we're asking, whatever we are desiring, God will do it exceedingly abundantly more than what we could ever ask for, above all that we ask or think. Remember, just as I have mentioned before in Isaiah, God's ways and his thoughts are higher than ours. So if we go back to the story with Moses and the Israelites, not only did God parted the Red Sea, He also took apart their wheels and started to take apart what they were writing in, so it would be much more difficult for them to get back to the shore. So all of those things that God thinks of, that he sees, that we don't see, that he knows that would be better for us, he does it for us. But we have to believe and know that this is who God is. If we think that God is a small God, then that's what we're going to get. If we think that God only does tiny things or he won't answer me, then that's what we're going to think. Whatever you believe is what you're going to get. But if you believe the God that is in this Bible, then just like it says here, if you believe the God that is in this Bible, then you will see the one who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you could ask or think. Now I would rather believe this God here in the Bible than a small version that other people create him to be. I like this God better. He answers my prayers, he heals me, he protects me, he guides me. He's extraordinary. I like this God that is portrayed in the Bible.

Faith Without Works Is Dead

Now let's go to Hebrews chapter eleven, verse five through seven. In Hebrews chapter eleven, verse five, by faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, and was not found because God had taken him. For before he was taken he had this testimony that he pleased God. How do you please God? But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. This is the part that some people miss. Right here it says, and you must also believe that what? That God is a rewarder. God likes to reward his people, his children. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Verse seven, by faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith, Abraham obeyed when he was called to go to the place which he would receive as an inheritance, and he went out, not knowing where he was going. So that's having faith. God said go. He didn't know where he was gonna go or what was going to happen there, but he believed God in what he said. Verse nine, by faith he dwelt in the land of promise, as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise, for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child, when she was past the age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. twelve therefore from one man and him as good as dead were born as many as the stars of the sky and multitude, innumerable as a sand, which is by the seashore. seventeen By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, and Isaac, your seed shall be called, concluding that God was able to raise him up even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense. By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff. By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones. By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child, and they were not afraid of the king's command. Now we know that we need faith, and it is impossible to please God without faith. It's to believe for the impossible, and when we believe for the impossible, God can move. But let's go to James chapter two verse eighteen, and it says, But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God, you do well. Even the demons believe and tremble. So what is it saying right here? It's saying not only do you need faith, you need works, you need action, because the demons believe that there is a God. But are they children of God? Can they get the same benefits as we? No, they hate him. They believe that there is a God, and they tremble. So we can't just believe and then not do anything. Verse twenty. But what do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled, which says Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness, and he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rahab the Harlow also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. So it's saying, You believe the impossible now what is that action? What is that thing that God is requiring from you and that God is able to do the impossible? Cause faith without works is dead. What are you believing for? What are you doing to get closer to that? And then God will match your faith. So it's like whatever you're believing for, you're praying for that, believing God for it, then what are you doing? And then when you do that, then God comes in and he does the impossible. He does the impossible. But we have to keep that in mind that God is a God of impossibilities. So keep thinking, don't forget. What are you believing God for? Believe Him for the impossible, because He can do anything. Believe Him to do great things in your life today, no matter what it is. Is it financial? Do you need Him to help you get out of debt? Do you need a new car and you're in an old car and you just can't get anywhere with it? Do you need a new job? Do you need restoration in your body? You need healing, you need your eyesight to be restored. And then the doctors have told you it's impossible. But with God, nothing is impossible. God has so much in store for us. We're not called to live a stale, stagnant life, but a life with joy and believing for God to do the impossible. So believe him for the impossible today. It doesn't matter what others say unless you agree with them. So don't agree with anyone that does not agree with the word of God. So agree with God and agree with him to do the impossible in your life. And get specific. Don't just say, God, I want you to do the impossible in my life. Be specific. What exactly do you want him to do? What exactly do you need him to shine through for you to do for you? And then also ask him, God, and what do I need to do as well? I believe this, but what do I need to do? So before

we close, let's say your prayer. Thank you, God, for today. Thank you, God, for this faith message that we all have heard today. Thank you, God, for helping us to believe the impossible, and that without faith, that it is impossible to please you. And thank you, God, that you are a rewarder for those who diligently seek you. Thank you, God, that we will always believe you to do the impossible in our lives. Thank you, God, that you have so much in store for our lives in the name of Jesus.
