Im your host, Rebecca - Bex - Allen. A makeup artist and dermal therapist, I have worked on major motion films and shows all around the world and in clinic as a skin specialist.
Realising my cast could only have their best makeup on screen, when their skin was at their best, led me to helping them; and now you understand how to achieve this!
Skin (care) should be fun! It is what we present to the world. It embraces us and who we are on so many levels.

Launching the Skinfully You Podcast with the guest of guests! Gay Wardle. Holding a Bachelor of Health Science in Dermal Therapies and with over four decades of experience in the skin and beauty industry, and over a decade in education, her contributions to the Australian beauty industry have been widely recognised. Gay was inducted into both the ABIA Hall of Fame and the Reed Exhibition Hall of Fame in 2014, and named The Educator of the Year in 2015, recognising her outstanding work. Gay prioritises education and is always looking for new ways to stay up to date on the latest treatment techniques, and if that wasn’t enough In addition to her educational, mentoring and teaching activities, Gay also runs one of the leading luxury Gold Coast skin clinics, SkinEnergy.
If there was anyone to take advice from, and know whole heartedly it was absolutely for your greatest benefit, it would be from Gay Wardle.
Todays podcast is about education for you, the skin consumer and the skin client! WHY the home care routine is so important and is more than just sales from your dermal therapist.
The treatment is only part of the journey. Understanding why and what you have been using isn’t helping, why you aren’t seeing results.
Understanding that no two skins are alike, and how a customised routine with professional advice is the best route to take. How skin changes, and getting regular advise.
Cleansing. Ensuring you have its a clean palette! If its not clean then everything else applied is going to be messy.
Antioxidants! How they are not just a supplement, and how nutrition topically applied is also important.
We learn that 75% of what happens to the skin is INTERNAL.
The incredible role of skin, how it is our raincoat, keeps our insides in and is out alarm system.
Consultation and honesty. How this is the most singular important thing to ensuring that you get the right treatments and care. Understanding, that when your skin therapist wants to sit down and chat with you; that it is a huge part of their role to ensure they provide you the utmost care and get you the best results, designed for you, and stop you from not seeing results, or getting worse skin!
Lymph drainage, and the immune system! Ensuring its responding and removing toxins, getting flow and getting the right circulation.
