Speaker 1:

Welcome, welcome, welcome back to another episode of. From my Perspective, I am your boy, Deion, coming at you with the do-rag today. Glad to be back for another episode. You know, the man, the myth, the legend himself is always here with us. Captain Hayden himself. Q how's it going?

Speaker 2:

Man, you already know who it is. It's your boy, mr Bear aka. So your name upon this pod might not put what it is, it's your boy, mr Bell aka aka. So your name up on this pod Might not put you to my what's up, dio.

Speaker 1:

I'm doing good, how you doing man.

Speaker 2:

Man, I'm cool man, I'm cool dog Gotta get some stuff off my chest. So I know we're going to talk about the NBA later in the pod, but I really can't wait. I later in the pod, but I really can't wait. I got some stuff. I got to get off my chest personally. Oh, so I just got done watching this Indiana-Cleveland game and, yes, indiana won. And I was told a dub is a dub. That's what I was told, right, yeah, no, I'm not feeling that. Because I'm not feeling that because they're. I'm not. You see how angry I can't even he can't even express himself right now.

Speaker 2:

Garland was out, mitchell was out, boakley was out, struis was out Right, that should have been a walk in the park. Should have been a walk in the park. Indiana had these games where people, somebody might be out or you're playing bad teams and we win the games, especially here at Lately. We're winning them, but these guys, like you said, these guys should be walks in the park. I'm sorry, I don't want to talk about it. These guys should be walks in the park, right, but they're not walking the park. We're struggling with these games, bro.

Speaker 2:

This came down to the last possession, what you mean? I ain't gonna wear me out. Cleveland was hot, though the only thing I do want to say is Cleveland was chilling in the threes. I was like damn, what are we supposed? I almost remember Donovan, mitchell and Garland play, because I know they ain't gonna hit all these damn threes like Hunter, jerome Marcel I'm sorry I'm mispronouncing your last name all these damn threes Like Hunter, jerome Marcel I'm sorry I'm mispronouncing your last name I'm talking about they hitting every three. They just throwing it up it's like somebody's at the Yums and throwing the ball in the river right there, because it's right there. You know what I mean, because we flooded down here. It's right there. That's all they're doing. They're just shooting threes. I get that they was crazy high, but still don't excuse the fact that, bro, their top three dudes is out. Right, top three, top three dudes is out.

Speaker 2:

Jared Allen only played the first half. So the second half, their top four dudes was out. Cool, deandre Hunter he only played like four minutes in the fourth quarter. The last, like eight minutes or so he didn't play. All right. So that's their top five players, cool. Then Ty Jerome he didn't play the fourth quarter at all, he only played like part of the third. Cool, their top five players was out. The head coach got ejected because we fouled Tristan Thompson. I ain't going to lie, obi Thompson fouled Tristan Thompson. He had a right to be where I would like to be, to get ejected, but he got ejected. The head coach was out. And then Struis was out. So you're telling me their top six players didn't play the entire, basically the entire, didn't play the entire, basically the entire, either the entire game or the entire second half or fourth quarter, and we still only won by like two.

Speaker 2:

What are we doing, indiana? What are we doing? Somebody got wide open threes, bro, even some of the threes when I was getting but the threes after a while we started contesting them, but they been shooting wide open threes. So now it's like, hey, we good, now we feeling ourselves, we play down our competition, we don't level up, we don't show our dominance. And that's the hate part that I want to hate on Indiana.

Speaker 2:

What the fuck are we doing? I don't even think it's hate, it's just ask a question, because I don't understand, as an Indiana practice fan, what are we doing? Why are we struggling to close that game? Why are we struggling with teams that we shouldn't be struggling with? We should be walking in the park, ain't no way? We got Tyrese Tyrese playing, siakam playing, and I can't even think of his Turner's playing. We got the four best players on the court and we still looking Not probably. Well, I don't know DeAndre Hunter's cold, so that's why I said probably. That's why I said we probably don't. We have the top three, we have the top three and DeAndre Hunter, but even then, like I said, he only played like the first three four minutes of the fourth quarter. What are we doing? You feel better? Nah, better, no, because I got more to say than what I just said.

Speaker 1:

We will get there, man. Hey, nba playoff is pretty much here. It's not around the corner, it's not down the street, it's next door, it's here and hey, I'm excited because, as really, from our perspective, we make our NBA playoff time, you know you're going to get it from us All our perspective, from these playoffs game, and it's coming. We got a lot coming on, but before we get to the people that get paid a lot of money, let's get to the people that get paid a decent amount of money to play basketball, and that's college basketball as the national championships concluded last week. Before I get that, I do want to give a shout out again to our NCAA bracket challenge from our perspective. Again, I can't thank you guys enough. Q can't thank you guys enough for that absolute amazing turnout that you guys got. I did horrible. I finished 36, but that's neither here nor there. It really didn't matter. But we do have some winners.

Speaker 1:

Uh, we pretty much know a few of you guys and we will be handing out gifts as they come, but one person, Evan Anderson. We know a lot of Evan Andersons. You only put one. You gotta reach out to us, big dog. Sorry, if you want your stuff, you gotta reach out to us. Big dog, sorry, if you want your stuff, you gotta reach out to us. If you don't reach out to us in a timely fashion, probably by the time maybe the next episode drops. We're just gonna have to push it down the line.

Speaker 1:

So, hey, those people that finished 4th, 5th and 6th, they probably were hoping you don't answer us or reach out to us. You got our social medias, from our perspective, mixed Vibes. Q me, reach out to us somewhere. Facebook, send us a smoke signal, send a pigeon of something. We need it If you want to get your gift, your prize for winning first place. But congratulations, had a 96.4 percentage Pretty impressive. Had Florida, but a lot of people had Florida winning. That wasn't a big deal. Q it impressive. Had Florida, but a lot of people had Florida winning. That wasn't a big deal, but let's get to it.

Speaker 2:

I did too. I gave it six.

Speaker 1:

Let's get to the women real quick, though. Uconn versus South Carolina. You had South Carolina, I had a different USC, but the best player got put out. You said when we did our reaction to the women's tournament that South Carolina was going to be on a mission and they hope they see UConn, because last time they saw UConn, UConn dog-walked them. Yeah, UConn saw them again. When they saw them again, UConn dog-walked them. Yeah, Well, obviously UConn was just head and shoulders the best team in the nation with Paige Buckets. She's got a quick turnaround, though, and she's probably not probably she's going to be the number one pick. She's got a quick turnaround, but what was your reaction? I know I watched the game. I got a little bored. I was like man, I was expecting a better game. What was the reaction to the women's Final Four championship?

Speaker 2:

I was expecting a better game, but I don't know. I thought Soprano was going to come out with a point to prove. But I mean we could have saw this coming because we saw it earlier in the year. We saw it earlier in the year. Uconn did what UConn does. Geno got to the final game. He got his girls and his women in the right position. Paige, like you said, paige is nice the strong.

Speaker 1:

I said strong, said strong.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, oh, my God she was. Oh my God, that lady, that woman going to be nice.

Speaker 1:

You hear me Yep, and then she came back next year. I can't wait. Well, she a freshman.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, I can't wait until she get drafted by the Indiana people. I can't wait. I can't wait At this point I'll look at all the time. I'll be like you know, you look good in a FIFA jersey. I'm just going. Oh, you look good, hallelujah. Oh, come on, man, watch out. I'm sorry, but no, we should have signed this guy. We should have, we should have, but I don't know. You look at Don, I picked South Carolina, one because of the revenge track and two because Don Staley, she's like the smoothest head coach out there. And you look at her and it's like damn, you know they're going to be all right because they got her, yeah, but she ain't on the court, so stuff didn't.

Speaker 1:

She ain't on the court. They had a team, but they didn't have that superstar.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you're right, that's the best way to put it. And then you kind of have that superstar yeah, you're right, that's the best way to put it and then you can't have three of them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, don Staley, she going to get in that pool? I know she is. She got somebody from Florida.

Speaker 2:

The young lady from Florida State. I can't think of her name. She nice, she nice too.

Speaker 1:

Don Staley. She going to eat it and she going to come back with a vengeance. So, hey, go ahead and look out for South Carolina next season. But let's go ahead and move over to the men's side. Looks like Hugh. I think he's looking up her name.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you go ahead, I'll come up with it. I'm looking up her name. Yeah, you can go ahead, I'll come up with it. I'm looking up her name right now.

Speaker 1:

Let's go over to the men's side. Much, much better game the Florida Gators versus the Houston Cougars. It was an excellent game. Houston actually was leading most of the game and kind of dominated. They did what Houston do they made it muddy. They made it a defensive game. Houston, that's what they do. They don't have the offensive firepower to really hang with teams, but they got defense and they going to make it ugly for you and they did. But Florida was just too good and they came back and we was talking a little bit about it pre-pod that last possession by Houston. It made me sick. We was talking a little bit about a pre-pod. That last possession by Houston. It made me sick as a basketball fan.

Speaker 1:

It was one of the worst innings of a basketball game that I've seen. Well, not worst inning, one of the worst how should I put it? Executions it was the worst execution of an inning of a basketball game. From my perspective and I've watched a lot of bad basketball I watched middle school basketball, elementary basketball and lower level high school basketball that was one of the worst and it was just all I said. Bro, you saw him coming, all you gotta do is hit him a pump For one you deep as hell. There's no reason why you should be wanting to shoot that shot in general.

Speaker 1:

Hit him with a pump, slide to the left and personally I wouldn't want that guy shooting the ball. He was having a rough game. I know he's a good player. He was having a rough game, turned the ball over. He turned the ball over maybe a possession or two, but all you had to do was hit a pump sidestep, maybe shoot it or pass it off to somebody else. That wasn't great execution by the Houston Cougars, but congratulations to the Florida Gators. Q. What was your thoughts?

Speaker 2:

All right, cool, her name is Tameya Lightston. Lightston, lightston. Come to Florida State. She's leading the score in the nation. Cool, houston, I don't know if you maybe, I don't know how you take it, but from my perspective, watching that entire game, I never thought Florida was that up. No, I didn't either. I never felt like Florida was that up. Even when Houston was getting on a run and the crowd was feeling Houston, I never thought Florida was that up, because in fact, we saw Florida do this in the tournament. They came back from deficits, they overcame deficits. Clayton he was struggling and boy was struggling. That boy was struggling in that first half. He got to the free throw line and I looked over. I was like this is going to help him, this is going to help him turn the corner. He did come back and miss his next shot, but then it started flowing. For the man, I'm surprised he was a zero. Can I just go? He was a zero-star recruit coming out of high school.

Speaker 1:

Some of these people, they don't know how to you know, they don't know how to see time.

Speaker 2:

Rick Pitino said that man could pass, but he fat. That's what Rick said. He's fat, but he could pass. Did you see that boy shoot? I don't see it. But he ended up playing for Rick though the transfer.

Speaker 2:

I never thought Florida was out of it. Florida had the offense. That's why I picked Florida. A lot of people was texting me because they know we do the pie and they know we be into these games and we try to do our research and our study and whatnot, and I was like it's just Florida's offense. To me it was kind of simple Florida's offense is going to prevail. Yes, I know Houston got a good defense. They got a great defense and they can put up points too, but not at the rate that Florida was going to. At some point I knew Florida was going to flip the switch and they did that. They did exactly that to the last play. You're right, he probably should have come fake, but at the same time the adrenaline was flowing. You need to get this shot out. It's the national championship game. You trying to get this bucket. He went up. He knew it was going to be a block, so then you know he let it come down. One of his teammates could have.

Speaker 1:

I don't think his teammates realized they was maybe a second or two realizing what was going on At first they was like grab the ball. Then they realized, oh, he can't grab the ball. By the time they realized it, it was too late. Florida had realized it too.

Speaker 2:

My thing is I know it's like a split-second decision and you can't really do it while you're in the air, but if you know you're not going to be able to get over his hand, throw it at his hand and make it bounce down, so then you can hit it and grab it and go back up. I know that's kind of a little bit hard to do, but at the same time it was either do them or do what you did. And you see what the reaction was. Where your teammates are all the way, they're close to the ball, but not that close to where they could have came together. So your best bet was to throw it off his hand hard so he couldn't catch it. You got to make sure he ain't going to be able to catch it. So then you let it hit the ground. Boom, you grab the ball, you swing it, you go back up. It's going to be a crazy shot either way, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So this was a good game.

Speaker 2:

It was a good game. That I give you. It was a good game. I feel bad. But I do feel bad for Houston In the sense of Not just the players but the fans as well, because Houston has a Strong history Of college basketball and they done got to the championship game, but they never got over the hump.

Speaker 1:

So they like Gonzaga.

Speaker 2:

They had Clyde Jackson, Hakeem Olajuwon. They had some dudes. They never got over the hump.

Speaker 1:

I feel bad for them, and they was in San Antonio, that's something I'm going to skip.

Speaker 1:

It's basically an own game. That was tough for Houston. But college basketball, antonio, that's a skip, it's basically an all game. Yeah, so yeah, that was tough for Houston, but college basketball season is over. And before we slide over to the professional guys, I just want to point out Louisville yes, louisville Cardinals, that team in red is third in the betting odds to win next year's national championship. Just want to point that out. Also, something else I want to point out the Final Four is at Indianapolis next season. If you are aware in your geography class, if you paid attention in geography, your United States geography Indianapolis is a hop and skip from Louisville. So I'm just speaking in this to existence. Pat Kelsey got him a nice little $1 million raise. Congratulations, well-deserved. We're third in the betting eyes. I'm trying to get to the Final Four next season.

Speaker 1:

That's all I'm saying that's all I'm saying.

Speaker 2:

It's just sad. Now, how many people do you really think know where the difference between Indianapolis and Louisville is?

Speaker 1:

That's for people to. Probably there's some people that don't know. It's true that nobody knows where Louisville is nor.

Speaker 2:

Indianapolis. So I would be surprised if a lot of people don't know it. Question when you was in school, did they teach you about the other counties of Kentucky? No, they didn't Exactly. So you think they didn't exactly. So what do you think they know about the big cities in kentucky? Look, we from louisville. And they don't teach us. That says a lot about louisville, that we don't even our educational system don't even recognize the rest of the state of kentucky. They just act like it's there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah but the rest of I know different counties is because I play football and sometimes we had to go play them schoolsoops.

Speaker 2:

But those counties. They study all of the counties in Kentucky. But when you're in the big city I had to ask somebody from Lexington hey, did y'all study the other counties in Kentucky? My point is, man, you know, if you don't know, the distance between Louisville and here and now, what's the difference?

Speaker 1:

Anyways, it's about an hour hour 15 away, so just know I'm probably not going to go because the price is going to be crazy.

Speaker 2:

It lets me know that you speak, because if you GPS it, it is not an hour or hour 15.

Speaker 1:

it's like hour, what Hour? 15?.

Speaker 2:

If you GPS it, it's like an hour and a half hour, 45. If you do it in an hour, which I have done many times, that's when you know you speak.

Speaker 1:

Who don't? No, hey, don't pull me over. I got my license and registration. I'm good. My tags are good. I want you doing 100.

Speaker 2:

Let me tell you something I got some nice eyes, all right, but teams I got some nice guys.

Speaker 1:

Let's go ahead and slide over. Nba playoff season is pretty much here, but we can't bury the lead. We buried the lead a little bit too much, so we got to go ahead and get into it. We got hit with a bombshell earlier this week. The Denver Nuggets fired Mike Malone, their championship winning coach. That they just, the Denver Nuggets, fired Mike Malone, their championship-winning coach that they just won championship with not too long ago, and they also got his name. But they fired the GM as well. They pretty much cleaned house Apparently, malone and GM. They didn't get along. They did not.

Speaker 1:

Before I let you go, I'm going to go ahead and give my thoughts. It makes absolutely no sense to me why you do this at this point in the season. If you wanted to get rid of them, wait until after the season. Getting rid of both GM and Malone didn't make much sense. Usually you keep one or the other, let the other one pick their guy. To me I guess the owners was fed up of both of them. So they was like we got to clear the house and I just hope Jokic was okay with this firing.

Speaker 1:

But a lot from what I've been reading and what I've been seeing a lot of what's a lot that's happening because of Russell Westbrook. A lot of people are saying Russell Westbrook, he has caused the firing of multiple coaches and multiple stops. So hope it's not because of Westbrook, but I've been hearing Westbrook has been a big issue. Some people feel like he shouldn't be getting the minutes he was getting. They feel like he should have been going to younger talent, but Westbrook seemed like he was a big issue. Can you please explain to me why would you do this at this point in the season? Literally, the playoffs is next door.

Speaker 2:

Okay. So I wish I had a good reason. Honestly, I wish I could come up with a good reason to figure something out, but it doesn't make no sense. To the Westbrook point, that was Michael Malone's and Calvin Booth's issue, but that's been reported for years. Booth wanted him to play the younger dudes. Michael Malone wanted to play the more veteran players, the more known commodities. Like, I know what you're going to get from me, I know what I'm going to get from you and you know what to do. As where the younger dudes, you got to learn on the job but, yeah, that was their. They had tension, but you know that's been tension for every GM and head coach situation. For the most part, the GM draft younger talent because they get paid cheaper, and you got to. You know progress, the look at the franchise going forward, the coach's job is to get the most out of the team. Right now, it's just reality. They own the same team but they both have different job descriptions. Yeah, so I mean that's always been an issue. Calvin Booth, you know they're hitting them with the well, you ain't getting fired. You're just not going to renew your contract. Come on, bro, ain't getting fired, you're just not going to renew your contract. Come on, bro, he got fired. That's what that is. He got fired Especially because you announced it right now.

Speaker 2:

In the regular, y'all going to the playoffs, y'all going to be anywhere between the four and the 70. Y'all going to be. You know what I'm saying. They show, you know. You watch ESPN, you watch CBS Sports Network. They show different highlights of where, these past couple weeks, the team may have been hustling in this order. They're not playing defense. Well, they're not, you know, closing out on shooters. Maybe Michael Malone lost the ear of his team? That's also a possibility. He just won the championship two years ago.

Speaker 2:

So I don't really see them losing their ear. I don't really see them not paying attention already. They just won the championship two years ago. I don't think this might be crazy to say, but this is going to be awful. I don't. Westbrook might to me. I don't think I would look at Westbrook as the problem. Westbrook's playing what? 25 minutes a game, 30?. I think the bigger issue is I know he's hurt right now, but I think Jamal Murray's the bigger issue.

Speaker 1:

You think so. He's been known to be lackluster in the regular season and show up in the playoffs though, yeah but he ain't getting paid to be like that.

Speaker 2:

He ain't paid to be a top dude. So I'm trying to move a little further. He's not the blame for Michael Malone getting fired, but I feel like he's the blame for we're starting to look at Denver. We started to look at Denver differently and I think he is the reason for that, because I don't think we look at him as man he going to help Joker out. We're looking at him as he's the one that you should be next to Joker with. Can he be your number two or should he be your number three? Is he a glorified role player at this point?

Speaker 2:

And I think, if you're the owner and you're looking at that team right now and you're saying, I think this is as far as we're going to get with the head coach we got, who might need to bring somebody new in to maybe boost Jamal Murray up, it might be the time to let it go. I don't think I would do it. I know I wouldn't do it now because one, it's disrespectful to him, because he just won the championship two years ago. I think that's disrespectful to him, but I can't make. This don't make sense. But the NBA don't make sense because the Grizzlies just fired Taylor last week, two weeks ago.

Speaker 1:

They was for sure going to be in the playoffs.

Speaker 2:

At this point it just don't make sense.

Speaker 1:

Nothing makes sense.

Speaker 2:

But I mean the fact that you Hold on. Think about this NBA season. Luka got traded and we had two coaches get fired in March or one.

Speaker 1:

April, both of them making the playoffs too. That don't never happen. It's crazy. I mean, I know Denver. They have been struggling a lot here recently. They've lost a few in a row, but Jokic, he's been on fire, he's been hitting money with triple dubs. He's in playoff form, ready to go. So I will say, though, it kind of upset me a little bit though, because after this Michael Malone firing, people were celebrating, notably Laker fans were celebrating, because Michael Malone he said it himself. He basically said he was the Lakers' daddy. Their daddy is no longer home. So the Lakers daddy, that daddy, is no longer home. So the Lakers feel like they can just roam free and do whatever they want. Also, one thing that upset me is you know how these Lakers fans get? They feel like they're going to get every superstar to ever step foot in the NBA, which I mean sometimes they don't be lying, but a lot of times they don't be lying but a lot of times they get on past their prime.

Speaker 1:

Ie Dwight Howard, steve Nash, carmelo Anthony but they started putting graphics out for Joker.

Speaker 2:

And the Lakers is going Laker.

Speaker 1:

So I mean that'd be crazy, though I do know Luka and Joker have a great relationship. I wouldn't. I'm pretty sure they would love to play with each other, but them getting that would be worse than KD going to the Warriors. Because what Jokic? He's probably the best player in the league right now and probably top 10 center ever to lace him up Maybe top 10 player ever to lace him up at this point of his career. How do you feel about that? You said top 20?. Top 10.

Speaker 1:

Oh okay, top 10 center, top 20 all time.

Speaker 2:

Oh, okay. I thought you said oh, okay, okay, okay, top 10, center, top 20 all time, my.

Speaker 1:

I thought you said oh okay, okay, top 10 center, top 20 all time. My bad, I probably said, I probably said that, yeah, my top 10 center, top 20 all time.

Speaker 2:

I think, yeah, I think for sure he's a top 10 center. I was trying to come up with a list earlier, right, of top 20 players and I feel like he's in there, I think he's. I looked at the list earlier. I think he's like 19 to 20, but I ain't like comfortable, so I went with the. I went with the gifts, right. Lebron, kareem and Michael. Those them three. They automatic right. Magic and Larry automatic To me. Tim Duncan and Shaq automatic To me. Tim Duncan is automatic. Those are automatics. At this point. I feel like Steph Curry is automatic. I agree, I'm up to nine. Those are Dr J. I put DrJ up for two, even though I know a lot of his talent was ABA. But I put Dr J up for two, even though I know a lot of his talent was ABA. But I put Dr J up for two. So to me that's 10.

Speaker 2:

Then he moves into the conversation of okay, the Kevin Garnett, the Dirk Nowitzkis. You know what I'm saying? Why am I drawing a blank on his name? Larry Bird. No, I put Larry as automatic. I put him in that next 10. Right, so I think I would say he's a top 20. It's crazy to think that he's a top 20, he's only 30, so he probably don't have a chance to move up. Oh, kevin Durant. Sorry, that was the name. Thank you, I was trying to decide. Is Joker better than Kevin Durant? I know he got the MVPs, but Kevin Durant's game is just so silky, smooth dog, that I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I agree with you, man. I mean KD, and we got to talk about KD too. Man, I mean I'm, I don't know A little bit man, them sons, they're done, they're done, and they might have to trade him. But I think that might be a conversation for the offseason, so let's just go big.

Speaker 2:

I don't think it's a might. I ain't going to lie to you, bro. I don't think it's a might. Nobody wants Bill, but, like you said, we're excited, my bad.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're excited, but let's scratch the all-time talk. Let's go just centers. You got us, you got your Kareem. You got your Will. You got your Bill. You got your Shaq, you got your Hakeem. That's usually most people's top five, in somewhat order. Do you think he's squeezing his way into that top five?

Speaker 2:

or he's outside the top five, still top tier, I think it comes. Is he better than Olajuwon? I think that's the question. Fuck, I don't know Olajuwon, could. I'm going to say no, yet I'm going to say not, yet I'm going to say not, yet I'm going to say he's six, six, I'm going to say he's six. I kind of want to say yeah, but I'm going to say he's six.

Speaker 1:

I feel like it's disrespectful. I'm going to give you a center's name.

Speaker 2:

I feel like it's disrespectful to Elijah Walker.

Speaker 1:

I already have Joe Bader. I'm going to give you another sender's name. Congratulations to this man. He is going into the Hall of Fame, but is he better than Dwight Howard?

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, with that question.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah, yeah, he's a David Robinson. You see that pretty easily.

Speaker 2:

I'm trying to tell you I mean, he's better than David Robinson and I love David Robinson. Ain't going to get the respect to is David Robinson and Oscar Robinson. It's crazy, both their names and Robinson. I don't think history is going to give them to me in their respect like they should. I love David Robinson, but I think Joker is better than David Robinson. Yeah, shaq Will Kareem Elijah Juan Bill Bill Russell.

Speaker 1:

I don't guess it is. So we're in agreement with that. He's probably just outside that top five. But since we're still talking about Jokic and apparently with the firing of Mike Malone, people are saying he could be on the trade block, I doubt it. If I'm Denver, you will have to pry Jokic for me from my cold dead hands. So I mean, as long as Nico Harrison doesn't get a job for the Denver Nuggets anytime soon, I think that'd be cool don't do that.

Speaker 2:

don't do that cause you know you done talked about this and what Nico Nico did, but that wasn't all Nico's decision. The owner of them said either they either Nico went to them and they okayed it, or they came to Nico and Nico said okay, either way, the ownership group had to okay that. You're right, that's not a. You can't trade that type of quality of player. And the ownership don't say, yeah, you're right, they talking about the Mavs fans. All right, man, you can start this. I wasn't even talking about this.

Speaker 1:

I right, man, you can start this. I wasn't going to. Oh yeah, let's get it. I mean, we got to talk about it, luka, he dropped 45 on Dallas. In Dallas. Might as well go ahead and talk about it a little bit. There was Chin Fire, nico Mark Cuban he was in attendance. He is a minority owner. He's not the majority owner, no more. A lot of people was upset at Cuban. He ain't got no power, no more. He sold his minority stake. He's just a minority owner. He's just collecting checks. That's all Cuban is doing. But Luka dropped 45.

Speaker 2:

And then the fans at her chat. Bye Nico, bye Nico, but you don't want to say nothing to the ownership group?

Speaker 1:

They definitely need to to say nothing to the ownership group.

Speaker 2:

They definitely need to start saying something to the ownership group. You need to say something to the majority owner, the governor I don't know why they call him the governor, the main governor of the Dallas Mavericks, and get on his head. Where they at the baseball games chanting fire Nico, they at the hockey games chanting fire Nico, what about the owner? He?

Speaker 1:

can't show his face.

Speaker 2:

What about the owner? But the one thing I give him hey, where he show up. Yeah, he shows up. He's standing in the tunnel. When it was the Lakers game he was on the court pregame he sat in the stands. He shows up like, hey, this decision that was made. I got to stand back. It only sucks because Kyrie got hurt, Then Anthony Davis got hurt as soon as he got there.

Speaker 1:

Because they was looking decent. With AD and Kyrie they was looking decent. For that half they was looking decent.

Speaker 2:

That team's going to be all right. With Kyrie there, I think they're going to need another win. Hold on, klay's done. You think he's done? Klay's done. You think he's done? Klay's done. But you watched that game.

Speaker 1:

I did watch it, klay's done. He ain't the same. Them knees injuries.

Speaker 2:

You knew the defense was going to go away because of injuries, but the shooting it don't feel the same. Bro Klay's. Maybe because Kyrie ain't there. We'll see what it looks like next. Maybe because Kyrie ain't there with us. He would've been like next year with Kyrie's there and they got Anthony Davis. But if he's shooting like, if he ain't knocking down threes, klay ain't helping the team because his defense don't do it no more. He's a good team defender Shield, but as far as a one-on-one I'm going to shut down their best player.

Speaker 1:

He's not that normal. Can't do that, no more. I do that all year. Oh, it's not looking good, but before we start talking about the playoff pitchers and giving our championship rankings, if Jokic was to get traded, where would you like to see him go?

Speaker 2:

I don't want to see him get traded. I don't want to see him get traded. I don't want to see him get traded. No, that's not what I got. I don't want to see him get traded because I think, I don't know, he's just going to mess up the NBA for me, you're right, you're right, you're right, I'm still going to watch it, but it will bother me If he gets traded.

Speaker 1:

Just don't get traded to the Lakers while LeBron is still there. I really don't want him to go to the Lakers regardless, because that's just going to make Laker fans insufferable more than they already are. But just don't go while LeBron's there. I would love to see Luka and Jokic play side-by-side. I feel like that would be must-see TV, because you know they like each other. You know they enjoy playing with each other on the court, so I would like to see that. I want to see Luka go to Utah.

Speaker 2:

I mean not Utah, sorry, wrong team that was. I would rather Luka go there than Jokic go to the Lakers. That's what.

Speaker 1:

I would rather which is a possibility. Keep in mind Luka didn't ask to go to the Lakers and he's a free agent, not this year but the following year. Keep that in mind, fans I mean Lakers got some work to do. They got to convince Luka to be a Laker, Because he probably don't care nothing about being a Laker, he just want to hoop.

Speaker 2:

I can't believe Stig and Lee. Detroit is that man that's wild.

Speaker 1:

But let's go ahead and talk about the NBA playoff picture starting off in the West as of April 9th's games. I don't think any movement has really happened. Okc, they locked up the one seed in the West. They locked that up three, four months ago. They've had that for a while. I'm just saying the Rockets looked like they'd be the two seed. Denver right now is four, clippers is five, lakers is three, denver is four, clippers is five and the Grizzlies is six.

Speaker 1:

A lot of change can happen. Those teams is like two and a half games behind each other. So you blink and you could be in six spots. True, with the playing games out in the West, it's looking like it's going to be the Golden State Warriors. Who's also in that mix of you blink, you can be in that spot. The Minnesota Timberwolves, the Sacramento Kings versus the Dallas Mavericks. Slide over to the East. The Cavs they got that locked up. The Boston Celtics two seed. The New York Knicks is the three. The New York Indiana Pacers have locked up the fourth seed officially and I'm almost positive that they will be playing their rivals, the Milwaukee Bucks. The Detroit Pistons is six. I just want to applaud the Detroit Pistons for being six Playing games is the Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heats.

Speaker 1:

It just kind of crossed my mind. You don't got to do. No, I don't want you to figure it out now because I'm sure you're still winning, but we still. Next week we will officially announce who will win. Who won the game of. I forgot how you put it, but Damn, how did we put it?

Speaker 2:

Basically, we're going to add up. We are both big. Basically, we're going to add up. We are both big teams. We're going to add up the win totals.

Speaker 1:

Last time we checked Q was he's putting the belt to ass. I made some bad decisions, namely the New Orleans Pelicans. That was one of my bad decisions, yeah that was your bad yeah. So I laid out the playoff picture. I doubt much will change my question for you Q. I want your top five teams that can win the NBA finals this season.

Speaker 2:

No, it's crazy. I was talking to you about Jamal Murray, like two weeks ago, but maybe three weeks ago I would have had them in my top five.

Speaker 1:

I would have too. They might still be, but they dropped them significantly.

Speaker 2:

No, I can't put them in my top five now. I just can't and I will not. Cool, I think it's the top three for me, and then it's the rest Cleveland, boston, okc. That's the three, it's them three, and then it's the rest, my four and five. My four is the Indiana Pacers. Oh, kurt, oh Kurt. I do not Kurt, I do not Kerr, I do not Kerr. My five, my five is actually the Golden State Warriors. Oh man, why is the Golden State Warriors Jimmy Butler? You put Jimmy Butler on the team with Steph Curry and Jerry Martin in the playoffs. Oh, it's going to be nice. It's going to be nice. It's going to be nice. It's going to be what those others do, especially Kaminga. If Kaminga could play like he was playing right before he got hurt, it might be ball game. It might be ball game. And my six would be the Clippers. I know you said five, but I'm going to give you my six, all right.

Speaker 1:

I see you don't have a team that's in yellow and gold, yellow and purple. You don't have that team.

Speaker 2:

Well, look, I don't keep it a book. I thought about putting them up there, but I got a good friend of mine that loves the Lakers and I'm just not going to give him the pleasure of hearing me say that. And I never had a problem with the Lakers until you know he hyped them up so much. And the crazy thing is he's not even a Laker fan.

Speaker 1:

He's really just a LeBron. That's all Laker fans are right now is LeBron fans.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, lebron fans, so I'm not going. But I mean, if you want me to be honest and unbiased, they probably seven. I honestly wouldn't put them in the top five just because they ain't got no size.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean them. Not having a center hurts them.

Speaker 2:

No disrespect to Jackson Hayes, but I just don't.

Speaker 1:

He's not it. Yeah, I hope that's all he got to say. He's not it yeah, I hope that's all you got to say. He's not it, oh shit.

Speaker 2:

That's all you got to say. I'm trying to find a respectful way to put it friends, he's not it.

Speaker 1:

That's all you got to say. He's not it. But I agree with you 100%. I mean in order I have Boston, okc, cleveland. I hate to say it, but my fourth team is the Lakers and my fifth team is Golden State. I would like the Clippers, I would have the Clippers ahead Golden State and the Lakers. But you know what? I can't trust that knee of Kawhi Leonard.

Speaker 2:

That's a good point. I will give James Harden credit. He adapted to his role and also give the Clippers front office credit too, because they adapted the team to fit what they had and they honestly looked at Paul George and said I'm good, bro, how much you want? We'll give you $30. I think it was $40. How much you want? All right, look, we'll give you 30. I think it was 40. We'll give you 30 or 40. Now I want more. All right, then go on over, go on over.

Speaker 1:

They look like geniuses because what he look like in Philadelphia is a shell of himself. He's fleeced the Sixers because he's got a fifth-year option. He's going to pick it up. He's going to be fleecing them because he doesn't look the same. Maybe he'll be different. I mean, joel Embiid is a big thing in Philadelphia. That's another team that we will have to talk about in the offseason, but we will get there. Them and the Phineas Slins Y'all got some work to do. But, man, the playoffs is really here. How excited are you? And I got to ask you your pace is, of course, looking like y'all going to play the Milwaukee Bucks. How far do you think y'all can go?

Speaker 2:

I think we can make it to the Eastern Conference. That's without me being unbiased. I feel like we can make it to the Eastern Conference and that's without me being unbiased. I feel like we can make it to the East Conference Because I feel like we can beat Milwaukee.

Speaker 1:

So okay, you feel like you can beat Cleveland.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I do. We just beat them. Yeah, we just beat them, Even though you know they top players didn't play. We just beat them Really. Yeah, that's what they taught players to play. We just beat them Really. Yeah, that's what I went with. I started just by talking shit and then I'm like yeah, look, you know, the home made me to, came back.

Speaker 1:

So here we are again.

Speaker 1:

The Indian, the Pacer fit is back. So outside of your Pacers, any other team you think could make some noise. I know the Magic, I like the Magic. They would be in a better position if, for instance, Front Wagner did not get hurt. They can make some noise right now. They in the play-in Minnesota, they the 8th seed, right now you think they can make some noise. I don't have no faith in the Kings or the Dallas Mavericks, Much faith in the Bulls, Miami Heat somehow. I mean they always in the down play.

Speaker 2:

That's because they started out so strong but they really sucked it up. They just backed their way into the playoffs. Chicago is surprised no, I do not have no faith in the Bull them, but they are surprised Because I honestly did not think they was going to do anything this year. Josh Giddey you know he has some off-the-court stuff, but he's good at his job. I'm giving him his credit. He's good at his job. Minnesota no, I do not give them no credit. New York New York's possible? I don't see it, but it's possible. You said Orlando If Jalen Suggs was healthy, I would give them a better chance. But without Jalen Suggs being healthy, nah, I don't see it.

Speaker 1:

Yep, and obviously Trey Young. He's annually in the play-in. That's another player we might need to talk about them oh, not just the Hawks, but Trey Young in particular if I'm him, I want out yeah, yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Uh, captain Hater, man, we talked about the NBA playoffs. Is there anything else you may want to hate on or talk about?

Speaker 2:

Not really. You know, baseball season is getting started. All the messes this weekend. Are you going to?

Speaker 1:

watch any of them. Oh man, tiger's not in it. I'll probably click on it. I mean Sundays I don't do much on Sundays I'll click on it, seeing what's going on, seeing if it's a close, might check it out. Unfortunately tiger's not in. If tiger was in it, you know sunday when he pull out that red, I'm all eyes. Uh, you know, I gotta find something to do. You know we are.

Speaker 1:

The major event in louisville was canceled, so that was a little disappointing, for obvious reasons reasons though we are not, but pretty much the whole, almost half of downtown is underwater. So I do want to take the time out. I know there's been some flooding, not just in Louisville but along the Ohio River as a whole. We wish everybody safety. We pray for everybody. There's been some tragedy that's happened. Some people did not make it out of the flood, unfortunately, and it is very concerning. It doesn't seem as bad as you think it is, but when you see the news and when you actually look at the flood, it's actually pretty bad. So I do want to point that out. But outside of that, I want to pray for everyone and their safety, especially if you live along the Ohio River all the way up to Cincinnati. It is pretty bad, but outside of that I ain't got nothing to hate on.

Speaker 1:

I just hope we get a good NBA playoffs. Actually, I got a question for you. One more question. It came across my timeline. All games are seven-game series. What are your thoughts about first-round games being five-game series?

Speaker 2:

They need to be. They really do. My son just was talking about it earlier. The NBA playoffs is long. It starts in April, it goes to June. There's no reason for the playoffs to be two months. That first round should be a five game and I think Mad Dog said it. You get a better opportunity for first round upsets Because all you got to do is win three games instead of four. It's a lot easier to win three than four.

Speaker 1:
