Speaker 1:

Welcome, welcome, welcome back to another episode of. From my Perspective, I'm your boy, deion, coming back to you with these perspectives. We got a nice little packed show for you guys, but you know we have a PLE this weekend, so you know we got to talk about Night of Champions, but I'm going to call it Afternoon of Champions, since it's going to be at 2 pm our time. But Q, how you doing?

Speaker 2:

today. Man, you already know the best. It's your boy. Mr Bell, aka, Can't say your name up on the spot, Might not put you to my eyes. I can't call it bro. I'm tired and I'm sweating. I was just at Topgolf. As soon as the spot is over, I'm worried. I was.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's been a long week.

Speaker 2:

It's been a long week.

Speaker 1:

But, as you guys know, we're talking about afternoon of champions. Since we're talking about WPLE, my guy, chris, he said he wanted to join and give his prediction and give his thoughts about the PLE of night of champions, aka afternoon of champions. Chris, how are you doing today?

Speaker 3:

I'm good. It's been a while since I've done this. I think the last time I did this it was after the Royal Rumble. I can't believe it's been that long, but I'm excited to be back.

Speaker 1:

Time waits for no person. But you know the deal Take your shoes off when you come in the door. Bathrooms in the left kitchen to the right Don't drink up all the liquor. That's all we ask. But let's go ahead and get right into Afternoon of Champions Before we get into the actual predictions of the show. Six-match car the world.

Speaker 1:

We had some things happen in Iran. Over there, some bombings happened, so there was some significant thoughts about either postponing or moving Night of Champions. Now, if you look at the map, saudi Arabia is not that. It's right there. It's like us to Canada, just to give some people thoughts. It's not very geographically friendly, but Saudi Arabia is not. They're not allies of Iran. They actually don't really like each other.

Speaker 1:

From my understanding and from also my understanding is Iran probably really don't want to mess with the Riyadh Saudi Arabia because they have the money, they have a lot of power and I'm assuming that they're going to protect WWE very, very well. But we all know the deal. It's like $50 million invested in this for WWE. The chances of them moving this was very slim. Now, at first I'm giving my perspective. At first I thought they probably should maybe postpone it or move it.

Speaker 1:

But now you read a little bit, it's like, okay, it's not as bad. There's maybe a little bit it's like, okay, it's not, it's not as bad. As you know, maybe a little issues, but I feel like the wrestlers which the most important thing the wrestlers, the producers, the production team I feel like they will be perfectly fine and perfectly safe and that is my main issue. So I personally don't have an issue with them keeping it. At first, like when the stuff initially came out, I was like there's no way they're going to actually have this pay-per-view. It's PLE this week in Saudi Arabia. But you know, as the days went by, it seems like it's pretty cool. Everything's not going haywire. But, chris, what was your thoughts? You know when the world looks like it was going crazy. Did you feel like they should have or do you still think they probably should have postponed the move?

Speaker 3:

uh, night of champions well, you know, to be honest, I'm not really that surprised. Uh, money talks at the end of the day and they would have lost a lot of money if they were to move it. Um, I'm typically not a big fan of the saudi shows because I feel like a lot of it's really just a glorified house show. But this one seems the card seems a little bit better than the most. I don't know. I mean, I guess they could have moved it, but it's dare to be, they're not going to. It would take a whole lot of something to move an event. I mean, when COVID happened they moved WrestleMania, but I don't know, I don't think we'll. I don't foresee them ever moving a show from Saudi anytime soon.

Speaker 2:

What was your thoughts? Let's be real man. $50 million, $50 million. And TKO is already in the red, wwe, ain't. But TKO's in the red, think TKO's passing up his money. It's guaranteed money. He don't pass up guaranteed money.

Speaker 2:

That being said, my first thoughts was let's just go back to the beginning. When Israel and Iran had started to think back and forth, I was like oh no, it's like one of them, y'all might want to keep an eye on that situation. And when the US decided to send some stuff over, it's like alright, y'all might want to go ahead and cancel Christmas. Go ahead and start canceling this now, because I didn't think it was going. I didn't think the ceasefire was going to happen this week, especially after Irene started firing at Qatar. I'm really like, nah, let's not. You know, let's not do this, but the ceasefire happened, so we're going to keep the show going.

Speaker 2:

But, like I said, my first thought, when the US sent some bombs over there, I was like okay, now we got to cancel Christmas because, at the end of the day, you want to protect not only your wrestlers, like you said, but you want to protect the people that's already been over there. Like I said, it's been people. It was some employees that were stuck in Qatar because they had to shut down the airwaves. Of course, saudi Arabia is going to guarantee WWE nothing but safety because for Saudi, they pay a lot of money for these shows. It's a big deal to them because they're trying to get into the sports market. Like we talked about on the last five, they own a little piece of the Lakers. Now To the Saudis this is an important event, so they're going to protect the WWE. But I just I don't know. At first I was a little uneasy about it, but now, since the ceasefire is happening, it's okay.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I agree, you know, it seems cool. It looks like they're going to be coming off with a golf without a hitch. This is again Afternoon of the Champion. I believe it is 1, actually 1 pm Eastern for us. So question quick, just know will you guys be watching this live at Saturday 1 pm?

Speaker 3:

I plan to, unless there's some kind of errand that I have to run, but as far as I know, I'll be watching it live at 1 o'clock yeah 1 p'clock.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, 1 pm is so tricky because, again, on the other hand, I like it when it's early because sometimes I'll be tired, especially trying to watch UFC events I'll be tired, I'll barely make it to the main event. But on Saturday around 1 o'clock, a lot of times I'm doing stuff, so I don't know if I will catch it live early because I got to work and also got some errands to run. I catch it live, but I will definitely watch it before the next episode. Q.

Speaker 2:

I got to work, I said, whoa, we got to work. We got to work by some events. I had planned on taking a nap around that time, but I guess I'm not going to be taking a nap. I guess I'm going to watch it live.

Speaker 1:

I might not watch it live, but we'll see. Let's go ahead and get right into it. Let's start out with the first match on the list. It's going to be the United States Championship. On the line It'll be Solo Sakoa versus Jacob Fatu, the United States Champion.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to start this one out for you guys. This one is going to be interesting because it's one of the few stories that I'm kind of interested to see how it goes. We're going to have a prop bet with this one as well, but I'm just going to go ahead and say I got Solo, but I got him with three. And the reason why I got him with three for the prop bet I think there's going to be some interference in Hikuleu, tamatanga, tamaleo, jc Mateo, somebody going to screw this over. I feel like they got to extend this a little bit longer and to extend it. Solo wins, he gets nice. Solo's been doing some good work. He deserves a nice little United States title run Not going to be long because Jay could probably get it back. But you know I'm going to go with Solo with three Q. I'll let you go next.

Speaker 2:

You threw me off when you said Solo, that's like something I would do when I be trying to win. So you threw me off Like hey, whoa, whoa.

Speaker 1:

This is my actual thoughts. This is not me going out on a limb, it's just how I feel like it.

Speaker 2:

You know me, I be trying to win. I ain't going to hold you, I be trying to win. I'm going to go Jacob with five. Okay, because even though I do feel like there's going to be some interference, because Hikalehu I think I'm pronouncing that right. I might be wrong. You know he has been doing some main events, some matches before SmackDown, so you know he's coming. It probably will be the time he pops out, but I think Jimmy's going to come out in the defense of Jacob. So I'm going to go with yeah, I'm going to go with Jacob, 5-2. We're 5.

Speaker 1:

Chris, what you got.

Speaker 3:

Is this the first time these two have faced each other?

Speaker 1:

This will be the first time these two have faced each other in a match.

Speaker 3:

Okay, yeah, this should be a good one. You know, I think there will be a lot of interference, as both of you kind of said. I really don't know who's going to win. To be honest, I can see it going both ways.

Speaker 3:

I think you know Solo probably needs a big win. He hasn't really had one in a while, I feel like since he did the match with Roman Reigns. I don't really know, I don't think he's really done much of substance since then. So to get you know, another title back on him might be really good. But then again, I'm a big Jacob Fatu fan and I'd like to see him win. But I wouldn't be surprised if Solo won and I guess I'll give that a four and it would be interesting. You know there's still members of the Bloodline out there that we haven't seen. I just saw a TikTok the other day of one of Umaga's sons seeing Randy Orton at an autograph signing and Randy had mentioned to him. He said you know, hopefully see you soon. I don't know if he was dropping hints or something, but it would be kind of cool to get a new member of the Bloodline to interfere in this match.

Speaker 2:

Man, he's got so many, he's got Zillow yeah.

Speaker 1:

They got more members.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say, because Rakeshi still got another son that's supposed to be training his own words.

Speaker 3:

Right, yeah, there's a lot out there.

Speaker 1:

They got something. I've got Solo. Chris has Solo and Q has Jacob 5-2. Us title match. This is only one of two titles on the line for United Champions. That makes sense a lot. I mean you know United Champions, whatever it. A lot I mean you know United champions, whatever it's. Usually I feel like all titles should be on the line or it's just every title match should be on the line. Title should be on the line. But A-Triple-H, it's your show. I'm just trying to.

Speaker 2:

Under Vince. That's what it was. It was either the title was on the line or the title. It was like champion versus champion type situation. We're not getting that. It's two title matches and then two matches for people who can get title shots. So I don't. I understand. Evolve 2 is coming up, so you want to save some of the women's matches for that. So the US women and then the Intercontinental women, but at least one of them women's championships should have been on this tour.

Speaker 3:

There's also a Saturday Night Main event too, that's true.

Speaker 2:

I don't know that Gunther and Jey Uso match probably should have been safe for this and didn't let Gunther take it over. Because what are we doing? I don't even know who got the women's championship. No more, I know, I'm just being funny. Tiffany ain't falling. I don't know how long it feels like. I know she had a match on. I think she got a match coming up on SmackDown.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, last woman standing match against Nia Jax, which I guess we're running that back again, but you know it is what it is.

Speaker 2:

We just doing something to put on the show over there, yeah. And then the men's tag team for SmackDown they going to be ran on the street profits. They got a tag team match versus the YS6 members on SmackDown. You couldn't put that on Night of Champions, right, because it's a championship match, and you couldn't move this Rykel for SmackDown, even though I know they're not SmackDown, y'all, don't be worried about that any other day. Nah, if it's Night of Champions, have at least four championships on the line At least.

Speaker 1:

At least four. It would've been nice. It would have been nice, but you brought it up Q. Let's go ahead and talk about it. Rhea Ripley versus Raquel Rodriguez. No offense to these ladies. I feel like this one was a little too thrown together due to the injury of Liv Morgan. It's going to be a pretty good match. Both of these women are great in the ring. Not really that interested in this match, but I think this is going to serve a purpose for a story involving another Judgment Day member. But before I give my predictions, I'm going to let Chris give his prediction of Rhea Ripley versus Raquel Rodriguez, one half of the women's tag team champion.

Speaker 3:

I would think that Rhea probably wins this. I'll be curious to see how long the match is and what all they do in terms of the street fight element. It's kind of amazing, you know, with this show. I remember back when they first started coming to Saudi Arabia, I don't think there was a women's match on the card. So now that there's at least I guess what is there, one or two on this card, two on this card too. So that's. You know, they've come a long way in terms of their rules, I guess, in Saudi Arabia for these shows. But hopefully it will be a fun match and I'll go with Rhea and I'll give that a five.

Speaker 2:

Q what you got. I'm going R real with a four. Honestly, it's probably real with a six. I know it was. I know it's going to happen, like you alluded to it, so I ain't going to say it. We know it's going to happen, but I still they not going to let real lose to right there? You don't think so. I do not believe they going to let real lose to right there, should they? Yeah, so the storyline will make more sense. You don't think so? Yeah, I do not believe they're going to let Rhea lose to Raquel. Should they? Yeah, so the storyline would make more sense. But the way they be booking Rhea's getting into that era of Becky and Charlotte, they don't lose to me in these matches.

Speaker 1:

You're right, but I'm going to guess you. I got Rhea or Raquel Rodriguez. I got her with two, though, because that's Rhea Ripley, that's Rhea Ripley dog. You know they love her. But the only reason why I feel like she has a chance is I believe Roxanne Perez is going to help her out and advance that storyline. Get Roxanne on her side a little bit more so she can carry the other half of the women's tag team titles To carry. That. It's going to be a nice little interesting story with Liv Morgan's house. They basically kind of going to look like they might copy and paste the story with Liv Morgan and Rhea Whippy with Roxanne Perez and Liv Morgan. It worked so good the first time. You might as well run it back, put a little spices and differences in it and see how it works. But I got Raquel, so I'm going against both of you guys. I do understand, rhea is Rhea she rarely loses but I'm just going to go out on a limb for this.

Speaker 2:

Hey, I love some Raquel and I hope you're right, but I know who Rhea is, that's all it is. You know, what I mean. I know who Rhea is, yeah.

Speaker 1:

All right. Next match we're going to talk about this. One kind of just got put on. It's been building for a little bit but they just threw it on the card. On Monday you have Sami Zayn versus Karrion Kross.

Speaker 1:

Karrion Kross has been extremely over and he's barely gotten a ring. If he's gotten a ring, it's been on main event. It's been house shows and stuff. If he's down in the ring, it's been on main event. It's been house shows and stuff. But just from his two-minute segments on backstage and what he's been tweeting, he's got it streamed over. You got to give the man props for that, for getting himself over. But this is going to be his first PLE match since WrestleMania 40, where he went against Bobby Leslie in a street fight, I believe. So he has not been on a PLE since WrestleMania 40. We are what, six months past WrestleMania 41. The man's just been chilling. I think he's just been chilling, but he got himself over. Sami Zayn is beloved in Saudi. So you know, give or take. You got someone streaming over, you got someone that's loved by that fan base. Q. I'm going to give you the first pick this time.

Speaker 2:

Don't give me the first pick. Oh no man. Oh no, can I put I don't know as an option? I'm man, I don't know, can I put I don't know as an option. I'm saying I don't like for real, I'm going to go Karrion Kross with a one. Okay, I have no faith in that. I do not believe that. But I mean, I got to pick somebody because Deion said I had to. So I'm going with Karrion Kross with a 1. I have no. Who's the heel? Is Karrion Kross the heel?

Speaker 1:

technically, but he's too over to be like the true heel. He's hit a heel on paper.

Speaker 2:

I am gonna find it interesting how the crowd over there sees Karrion Kross. Because I interesting how the crowd over there sees Karrion Kross because I went to the show over here and the crowd loved Karrion Kross. He was on Main Event because they taped him before the Rock. He had probably the third highest pop. Yeah, he did, and that was on Main Event. So, yeah, no, I want to see how Saudi takes to him, but I mean I go current cross for the one.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to retweet what you said. I got cross one. I mean, I'm a little bit more confident in it than you probably, but I just, you know, looking at the numbers, cross is just going to get my one, chris, what you got.

Speaker 3:

Well, you know, this one's kind of tough to predict. Uh, I think this match might surprise a lot of people. Um, it was at a last minute and I think both of them were, um, you know, kind of in interesting stages right now, uh, in their career. But if I was triple h, I would use this match for sort of long-term booking. Um, I was just thinking about this the other day. You know, sammy zane is going to be my pick to win the royal rumble in next january. So I think he needs to lose this match in order to build this story that he's doing right now. If he can't go over the hump can't be successful until finally he does win the rumble. So I would have kieran cross win just to further long-term booking. But I wouldn't be surprised if Sammy won. But I don't know, I think it would go either way. Personally, I want to see Kieran Cross win and I'll stick with that and I'll give it a three.

Speaker 1:

Kieran Cross. With three, we are Kieran Cross across the board. It looks like we're all Kieran Cross fans in this one right here. You know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

Sammy's going to win?

Speaker 1:

He probably will, but like I said, long-term booking-wise, I wouldn't have him win. So next up we have the queen of the ring finals, asuka. She has been a welcome sight back to WWE programming. And you got Jade Cargill, who is she is on fire in terms of, you know, ring wise. She's been, looks like she's finally finding her footing. It took her a while. She got hurt. She had that match with Naomi. Looks like she's finding her footing and she's getting a nice little rhythm now.

Speaker 1:

I believe this is going to be Jade's time to shine and I believe this is going to be Jay's time to shine and I believe this is going to be building up from my perspective, or if I'm, you know, maybe I'm going to put myself in the bookish chair or AAA's chair, somehow, someway. I mean, I would like you to do it at SummerSlam, but somehow, someway, you got to get this triple third match with Bianca, jade and Naomi. You have the piece of it and you have the elements to do it. You know, naomi, with the Money in the Bank, briefcase Jade if she wins this, she could get that title shot. And obviously, bianca, bianca, she could just show up and say, hey, I want that, and then get on the match because she's at that level the evolution of SummerSlam. I would like that to happen, so that's why I'm going to go with J Cargill with four, but I wouldn't be mad with either one. I believe this could be potentially the match of the night. Q.

Speaker 2:

Match of the night. Oh, okay, I'm going to go J with a Two, three and six.

Speaker 1:

Three yeah, you used one four and five. So yeah, you got two, three and six. Three yeah, you used one, four and five.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, you got two, four and six. Yeah, I'm going to go with J. I'm going to go J with a three, Because I don't, unless they're setting up the Oscar and EO situation, which I don't think they are. I'm going to go with J. I think it's going to be Jade.

Speaker 1:

I will say I think the crowd is just you know semantics per se, just you know giving somebody another accolade. I believe both these women coming out of this match, regardless of win, lose or draw, they'll be getting a title shot in the very near future, regardless of when, obviously, you win this one, you get a guaranteed title shot, but I believe both these women will be vying for a world title shot at Evolution and or SummerSlam, regardless of being winners or not. Chris.

Speaker 3:

You know, I think Jade will likely win. This should be an interesting match, though Two kind of different in-ring styles, and in my opinion, I think this will be a make break performance for jade cargill. Uh, going up against somebody like oscar, who's been in derity for quite some time, is probably in a list of you know, one of the greatest women's wrestlers of the past decade or so, um, just because of her longevity and what she's accomplished. So I'll go with Jade and I'll give it a six for that. And I agree with you, dion, I think this could be a potential match of the night. It'll be interesting.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because you know Asuka, she could have a match of the night with me and you know I've never trained professional wrestling. That's a solid point. That's a solid point.

Speaker 2:

Asuka is about, like Chris said, as far as workers over the past decade, oscar is either one or two. Yeah, as far as workers. So yeah, I can't. I agree with that. I just don't. I don't see it.

Speaker 1:

All right. Next up, we've had a match that people have been waiting for for. I think Cody's been back. What three years now? Three and a half years now. At this point, he came back at 39?.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he came back at 39.

Speaker 1:

This has been a match people have been wanting for about three and a half years. We all know this. We all know Randy Orton. He was the leader of Legacy who had Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr pretty good group. Obviously, randy Orton was the spearhead Cody, you know. He did good things. He broke off of Legacy, did some decent things. That gave him stardust. He said nah, I ain't rocking with it. Got up out of there, built his name up on the indies and in the AEW. Now he's back. Now, as he says it, he's the quarterback of WWE and there's no denying that he is the quarterback of WWE.

Speaker 1:

But we have Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton this time with the King of the Ring crown on the line. Also, winner of this gets a title shot, not of their choosing but of their respective brand that they're on. Both of them is on SmackDown. So their winner of this will be facing John Cena. So, in other words, looks like we're going to be going to a rematch at SummerSlam, and I just don't. I love Randy. I just don't see Randy getting a rematch at John Cena. I felt like that was the one time. Last time thing, at St Louis, it's going to be Cody Rhodes. I have Cody Rhodes with six and I'm going to ask you guys and I'm going to answer it myself Do you guys think Cody Rhodes should be the one to dethrone John Cena? Because, from my perspective, I would rather you give it to somebody else who's more needing of that. Chris, give me your prediction of Cody Rose versus Randy Orton and I'm going to ask you do you think Cody Rose is the one that dethroned John Cena?

Speaker 3:

Gosh. Well, I think Cody's going to win this match and I think somebody's going to tease a heel turn. I don't know if it's going to be a Cody or Randy, but I could see somebody potentially teasing a heel turn. You know, I was thinking maybe Cody tries cheats to win, or Randy, you know, or Cody wins and then Randy pulls a man for a handshake afterwards and doesn't let go. You know, there's different scenarios, but I think somebody needs to turn heel out of this. So I'll go with Cody, with a five and as far as him dethroning John Cena, realistically I think that's probably what's going to happen. I just don't know. I mean, if that happens at SummerSlam, then who faces Cena in his retirement match in December? So it's, I don't know. There's a lot of things they could do potentially.

Speaker 2:

G what you got. Oh, I ain't gonna lie, I don't even know Cody's on SmackDown. I forgot what brand Cody was on yeah, he's on SmackDown.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't forget what brand Cody was on. I've been through this room before. Please get a little bit stricter with this brand split man. Back in the day when I was watching, the brand split was tight. People weren't going to different shows. Please go back to that. Now that people saw Flip Floppy, you forget who's on what show. I understand they make a lot of money, they want them on maybe one of their superstars on multiple shows a week, but I like them to be like stick with it, man. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

LA Knight been on Raw for the past two weeks. Bro, what we doing? Coach Williams made that. So, to answer your question, who wins? I'm going. They gave the answer away. Okay, it's Cody, because, randy Orton, they built it as last time. So if it's the last time we know, we're not going to run it back. And Randy Orton, I know Randy Orton's going to make that. So, that being said, I'm going with Cody. I'm going with Cody with a. I guess I'm going to go Cody with a two, even though they gave it away. Nah, I'm going to go Cody with a six. Sorry.

Speaker 1:

Like I said, they gave it away. Yeah, I absolutely gave it away.

Speaker 2:

I get the point of putting Cody versus Randy Orton, but if you already billed it as one last time in St Louis, you didn't let you know that, randy Orton.

Speaker 1:

But if you already build it as one last time in St Louis, you're going to let you know that Randy Orton's not going to win Again it's been one of the matches people have been looking forward to, maybe a little bit tainted, because it may be a little bit predictable or they may hit us with a swerve, but I doubt it because I don't think we're getting Randy Orton versus John Cena ever again. Some doubt it because I don't think we're getting Randy Jordan versus John Cena ever again. Somewhat unfortunate, but you know, it's the times we live in. People are retiring, but, speaking of John Cena, this I'm pretty sure will be the main event. It's got to be the main event.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it is the main event John Cena versus CM Punk. And I got to say it this has been John Cena's best feud of his heel turn, without doubt, bar none.

Speaker 1:

Also something else I have to admit there was always some debate about who was John Cena's biggest rival. I was more so leaning towards the Edge portion of it, because when I was watching WWE, that was it. It was Edge and John Cena. Randy Orton was pretty close behind him. I feel like for me, from my perspective, this just a little bit of feud that we've got from CM Punk and John Cena Obviously we've got the reverse pipe bomb.

Speaker 1:

A couple Fridays ago I have to put CM Punk as John Cena's number one rival. Now, I wasn't very much watching WWE during the summer of Punk and that's when that was the big rival with John Cena. But you know, you go back and you watch some stuff, especially the Money in the Bank match, which again, I feel like this match should have been in Money in the Bank, but that's neither here nor there. I will concede that CM Punk is the biggest rival with John Cena's career and CM Punk probably should be the person to induct John Cena into the WWE Hall of Fame. We'll get there. That'll be another question for another day.

Speaker 1:

But John Cena, you gonna win. I got John Cena winning this one 5, but I'm going to give the floor to Chris. Obviously, he's a big CM Punk guy. Snake me, if I'm wrong, that's your favorite wrestler of all time, so I know you really wanted to talk about this. So I'm going to give you the floor to talk about this match, and I also want to hear your thoughts on the reverse pipe bomb as well.

Speaker 3:

Well, my favorite seems to change quite a bit, but Punk is definitely up there as, as you know, one of my all-time favorites. You know I'm going to echo a lot of what you just said. I think this, this has been Cena's best story since he's turned heel, you know. I think that the intensity of his heel run has really picked up. The character work has been much better than when he turned heel late in going up to WrestleManiamania. You know he really wasn't, he was just crying all the time. But now he's more of a serious heel and he's uh I you know, I think you know punk has really brought the best out of him with this story.

Speaker 3:

Uh, I kind of wish he was sage for summer slam. But here we are. It may not be the last time they face off. They might have another match, who knows? At least I'm hopeful that they do. I really don't know how this is going to play out because you also have the element of Seth Rollins with the Money in the Bank briefcase. I'd like to think that Cena wins. I'm going to give that a two, but this one's really hard to predict because, like I said, there's a lot of outside elements such as Seth Rollins and Money in the Bank. In terms of the reverse pipe bomb, I thought it was great. I thought it was hilarious that they kept zooming on the Slim Jim logo on the table, but that was probably Cena's best promo that he's done as a heel by far.

Speaker 1:

By far.

Speaker 3:

So, yeah, I'm excited for it.

Speaker 1:

Yep, I agree. You brought up the money in the bank. I might as well make it a prop bet. Do you think Seth Rollins even attempts to cash his in, yes or no? Is it going to be a one-point prop bet?

Speaker 3:

I think he will. I think he'll do a run in, but somebody you know will probably get stopped. Punk might hit him with a go to sleep and then leave, or something, or he could cash in. I don't know. It really just depends.

Speaker 1:

Q. The floor is yours?

Speaker 2:

Cool, that's your second question. First, no, I don't think Seth Rollins is going to attempt to cash it in. I don't think he should because he's a brand split. He is a round town.

Speaker 2:

You should be cashing in on Goldberg and Gunther. Goldberg should win versus Gunther if the Inception cashing in on Goldberg. That's how I think it should play out, so we're going to get that out of the way. As far as this match, I'm going to go John Cena with two, but I can also see CM Punk winning and I actually would prefer CM Punk winning. But I'm going to go John Cena with two. But I want to go back to something you said, because I think it's blessing. You said that CM Punk is John Cena's best rivalry all time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like I said, man, I was big on it. It was Edge and Randy Orton was right there behind, but this CM Punk, I guess because CM Punk has brought so much life into this John Cena heel turn that I'm going to concede it may change tomorrow, but I'm probably a prisoner of the moment.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say you'd be a prisoner of the moment. That far, john Cena's best rivalry is Randy Orton. Let's not. Sometimes, the simple answer is the best answer. For me, from my perspective, the simple answer is the best answer.

Speaker 3:

You could also argue the Rock in there too.

Speaker 1:

You got so many man.

Speaker 2:

You could. I just feel like John Cena and Randy Orton define the era.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that is so many man you could. I just feel like.

Speaker 2:

John Cena and Randy Orton defined the era. That is true. John Cena versus Edge didn't define the era. John Cena versus CM Punk didn't define the era. Yeah, like they all, john Cena had great matches with them, but him and Randy Orton defined the era. It's 1A and it's 1B. You never look at them, edge and CM Punk. They was top stars at that time, but they also fizzled out and they both was gone. Them two was still there. I see your perspective so yeah, that's all I'm saying, but yeah.

Speaker 1:

I'm going with.

Speaker 1:

John Cena with the two alright, john Cena, with the two. I know you won't be here to talk about it, chris, next week probably. I mean I don't know your schedule, but me and Q talked about it on the last episode. I know you're not a big fan of this guy. I mean, I'm sure you've watched some of the clips.

Speaker 1:

I've given my thoughts on Goldberg. I used to be a fan because he had aura, he had the legitimacy, he looked believable. Now he's just old and I really like, ah man, just get your retirement match out the way so we can put you in Hall of Fame and go on about your day. But your thoughts on Gunter challenging or Gunter being challenged by Goldberg for the world title? They're saying it's Goldberg's last match, which I hate that they do this when it's a title match because obviously you know he's not winning it. If he does, seth Rollins is immediately cashing in, but he's not winning it. If you're going to do that, make it a title versus career match. Give it something that means we know he's not winning. But give me your thoughts on Goldberg versus Gunther next Saturday in Atlanta.

Speaker 3:

Well, I hope Gunther is very stiff with him and does not let up. I don't know. To me it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense that he can just come in and get a title match. But it's Goldberg.

Speaker 3:

He could barely walk to the ring when he came out a few weeks ago and the F-bomb he did was not as impressive as he thought it was. But anyways, I'll quit hating on him for a few minutes. I would hate to see Gunther lose because I really have high expectations for this title run. I would hope, I hope that he can win and, you know, maybe do something with who's a top baby face overall right now Other than James.

Speaker 2:

So I was going to say why is Sammy, I guess, but I think Sammy is going to be healed soon.

Speaker 3:

So yeah, well, and I think Sami's going to win the Royal Rumble and eventually fight Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. That's a good question.

Speaker 1:

I feel like sorry to cut y'all, chris, I feel like a lot of this at this point. The Seth group has fizzled out for me a little bit, but I feel like at this point we're just waiting for Seth to be the world champion. That's where we're getting to. I just wish we would just get to it already so everybody can chase Seth Rollins and his group. The group has fizzled out.

Speaker 1:

I feel like Brian Brick and Bronson Reedus turned. They came out a couple weeks ago and it reminded me so much of when Seth Rollins had the money to bring the first time in his earliest career. They reminded me so much. It's like if JNJ Security just took the Super Soldier serum and came out. They came out as Braun and Bronson. That's how they feel. They feel like the henchmen. They was given more than just henchmen before they was with Seth Rollins. They was something before they was with Seth than just henchmen before they was with several. They was something before they was with several. I was feel like they took a slight step back. But sorry to cut you off, chris, but yeah, that's that's how I feel. I just just give it to seth rollins so we can just start the actual storytelling with this process right.

Speaker 3:

yeah, you know, and I'm looking forward to when um dragunov returns. Uh, he's been gone for quite a while over a year now with an injury, but I'd like to see him and Gunther go one-on-one for the title. I'm a big fan of Gunther and you know, like I said, I would much rather see him win than Bill Goldberg. So hopefully he does. But we'll just see what comes out of that match. I can't imagine it'd be a very long match.

Speaker 1:

Over or under is like two and a half minutes for me, right? Thank you for your thoughts, chris. We'll go ahead and let you up out of here. You can come anytime you want. We talk about WWE, you know we talk about it before the PLE. Anytime you want to come on, just hit me up and let me know.

Speaker 3:

Do you?

Speaker 1:

have anything you want to plug before you get out of here.

Speaker 3:

No, just stay tuned for high school soccer coverage. I imagine I'll probably be starting that towards the end of July, heading into August. You can find me on Twitter X whatever it's called these days at CMaddingley97, I believe.

Speaker 1:

Thank you again, Chris. You have a good night. Enjoy your Thursday night.

Speaker 3:

All right, take care.

Speaker 1:

All right, all right, guys. So that is the PLE afternoon of champions, even though the only two title matches is on the line. We if we did our little rant earlier, so y'all know how we feel not too impressed about it, but we got to go ahead and slide over to the basketball side of things and there's been a lot going on. Obviously we got the nba draft. Second round is coming to a close here. They only have a couple more picks left in the second round. A lot of trades has happened. Boston has started to strip down they down to pretty much, though they still got some socks. They still got their socks on. They still got some underwear on, but they basically socks underwear. They just stripped down a lot because of that second April. What's with this? So far far, this quick offseason it's crazy. The last game was literally Sunday. Offseason's here. Free agency is what Next week.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, kd got traded the week of the final Offseason's here what you want to talk about first with this offseason.

Speaker 2:

It's so many places, we'll keep it short. I don't know where to start. Like you said, boston's tripping down.

Speaker 2:

They even talking about trading Jalen Brown and Derrick White. Well, people's calling. I don't know if they're going to actually go through with it, but people's calling about Jalen Brown and Derrick White. Man, they done saved. By trading Drew Holiday and Porzingis they'd have saved over $200 million. That's crazy. By trading two players you'd have saved $200 million, well over $200 million. I think it's actually closer to $300 million. But that, as far as the trades, is like the most surprising to me currently. You know more stuff is going to happen next week, but Boston breaking down.

Speaker 2:

I'm confused by some teams or what they're doing, like Portland, for example. Why did you trade for Drew Holiday Makes no sense to me. And then your draft picks that you picked is a bunch of dudes that's going to have to go to G League and develop. So I'm confused about what the Portland Trailblazers are doing. Very confusing me. Brooklyn threw me off because y'all have first-round draft picks. I just assumed you would trade some of those to get some picks later a couple years down the line. I wouldn't think you're going to take all five players. But they did. Brooklyn threw me off I'm not going to lie because I just knew they were going to trade two of them picks.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's weird To me. The Suns threw me off a little bit. Obviously they traded Kevin Durant. We knew they were going to trade Kevin Durant. But you draft a big Okay, you needed a big Understandable. Then you trade for Mark Williams. It seems like Charlotte's been trying to get rid of Mark Williams for the past. But you trade for Mark Williams, so you got double bigs.

Speaker 1:

In today's NBA, double bigs don't really work, man. People ain't you know? People got like one big one legitimate rim protector, and a lot of times them guys don't be playing in crunch time. We saw what OKC did when they had the. They made their money with the double bigs with Horenstein and Chet. They did not want to put them on the court at the same time against the Indiana Pacers because they knew they would probably get ran off the court. We saw what the Pacers did with the Cavs and they double bigs ran them get ran off the court. We saw what the Pacers did with the Cavs and they double-bigs Ran them off the court. So I don't know what Phoenix is really doing. They still got Bradley Beal. I mean, are they going to still trade Bradley Beal? Are they going to know what they're going to do with that Phoenix is a little bit confusing to me.

Speaker 2:

I think one of them is going to be a developmental center. Okay, so he's going to develop over the next year or two and Mark Williams is going to be the starter right now, until dude is ready to go. I forgot about that, but I can see it. Like you said. I don't really necessarily agree with it, but I can see it. Portland.

Speaker 1:

Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead.

Speaker 2:

I was just going to say Portland. I just don't see it. Yeah, portland man they're.

Speaker 1:

I was just about to say Portland. I just don't see it. Yeah, portland man, they're going to be bad again next year. But let's talk about a team that I think is actually going to be good, and that is the San Antonio Spurs. I'm going to go ahead and say this now Adam Silver, nba as a whole, tv executives, put them guys on national TV. I'm trying to watch them because it looks like they got to be good. It looks like they can make some noise next season and it's going to be a heavy Western Conference. We talked about it last episode. It was what nine teams we say that could probably legitimately feel like they could make it to the finals. Yeah, so I think, so far the winners.

Speaker 1:

I'm a little surprised that Giannis has not been traded. I mean, the past couple of days it's been talked about like it doesn't look like the Bucs is going to trade. It looks like they're going to try to find a way, especially with how weak the East is looking at the moment. They're going to try to find a way to get competitive. So I'm not as surprised, but I was expecting it, we talked about it. So I'm not as surprised, but I was expecting it, we talked about it. I thought he was going to San Antonio. I thought San Antonio was going to give up that second pick, 11th pick, and he was going to be in San Antonio. Looks like that's not going to happen, but I think so far San Antonio is still the winners they look good and obviously Dallas they got Cooper Flagg Only thing Dallas needs.

Speaker 2:

They just need a stopgap point guard to Kyrie Irving gets back and they can actually do some make some noise. Now I like San Antonio because Dylan Harper Dylan Harper's going to look good next to De'Aaron Fox and Vic Well, everybody look good next to Vic. But I feel like De'Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper they can coincide together and you can probably you might be able to flip De'Aaron Fox or something else. Bj Etchcombe for the 76ers. I think that's going to be a good pick. You put him and Maxie next to each other. It'll take some pressure off of Powell George. I think Powell George is going to have a bounce back season. Joel, I don't really know.

Speaker 1:

He's got to stay healthy, man.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I don't want to. I want him to stay healthy, but do I think he's going to stay healthy? You know what I'm saying? No, but do I want him to stay healthy? Yeah, because he's going to be entertaining to watch, and then that gives the East. That's a star that we can look to, because right now it's a bunch of stars out. That's a star that we can look to, that's going to be playing some games. So hopefully Joel Embiid is healthy. We're going to talk about Ace Bailey.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we was going to get to that. We got to get to that. We was actually going to get to that. But before we get to that, just know one thing I wanted to bring up, obviously, the San Antonio Spurs. I've had three rookie of the year, well, two rookie of the years in a row Dylan Harper. If he gets it, he has a chance to win it. He has a chance to be the third in a row for San Antonio. But if you look at the odds, you know if you're a gambling man like myself and I am a gambling man it's Cooper. It looks like it's somewhat similar to when Victor Wimayama was coming out, was his rookie year. It's his to lose. How do you feel about that? Do you think Dylan Harper even has a chance? Or they got Cooper Flagg's name on the trophy already. They just waiting for the end of the season to hand it to him?

Speaker 2:

I think it's going to be hard for Dylan Harper to get over the love of Cooper Flagg, but I do think Dylan Harper will have a chance. I also think the people in Utah which we'll get to, they'll have a chance, because what else is in Utah? They're going to be able to put up some numbers. I'm trying to think.

Speaker 2:

I don't think it's nobody else. I'm looking at the first round and the people that I thought was going to be good. Like Nick Clifford, he's playing for Sacramento. They already got Zach Levine. You know what I'm saying. They got DeMar, so I don't think he's going to get the reps. Yeah, that's it, that's it. I ain't really got nobody else. Oh, cedric Coward playing for the Grizzlies. Yeah, he might be able to get some shots, so I'm going to give him a chance. I don't know. They deep in that position too. Man, I don't know. Yeah, it's really sounding like I'm trying to give other people a chance. So it's not like a two-man race or a four-man race between, you know, cooper Dillon and then the two Utah Jazz Picks. But out of the people I'm trying to sell myself on, I can see why they won't make it.

Speaker 1:

So, no, we obviously talking about the two Utah picks, but we got to talk about the one that's been a hot. He's been a hot topic not just during the draft but well before the draft. They've been talking about Ace Bailey. Now this is what's reported. Obviously, I'm not a reporter. I don't dig deep into some of these reports, but according to reports, ace Bailey declined to do any workouts with any team. He also basically stated I guess he felt like this was an NBA 2K mod player and he had a list of teams he wanted to go to. So I guess he's like oh, and list of teams, and I'm trying to find it now the list of teams.

Speaker 2:

It was teams that weren't very good, Washington the Pelicans and Washington, Pelicans. It was a third one. What was the third? I can't think of the third one, but I know it was Washington. I know it was the Pelicans.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. So he had a list of teams he wanted to go to. They weren't very good, which tells me he wants his shots. That's what it tells me. If it's true, A team that wasn't on the list was the Utah Jazz, and it just happens to be the team that drafted him. Watching the draft today before it came, they had a little talk about is he going to try to hold out or maybe not try to get out of there? I doubt it. What's your thoughts on this? This man acting like he's Victor didn't even do this. He was probably the only guy of the past couple years that probably could have pulled some stuff like hey, I'm only going to go here or here You're a good player, Ace, you ain't that level to be like trying to tell these guys, tell these rich white people, where you want to go.

Speaker 2:

Going to San Antonio and going to Utah see if the thing's there yeah, San Antonio buzzing right now. The other team was Brooklyn. That's the other team.

Speaker 3:

It was the.

Speaker 2:

Washington Wizards, brooklyn Nets, new Orleans Pelicans and in my head I'm trying to figure out why you want to go to Brooklyn. Cam Thomas is up there. I mean you're going to be the number two option, but Cam Thomas is. He's going to get his, he's going to get his first and then you go to New Orleans.

Speaker 1:

This is.

Speaker 2:

Zion's team man.

Speaker 1:

They just picked up Jordan Poole. Jordan Poole going to get him and Deontay Mertz.

Speaker 2:

I know Deontay Mertz probably going to come back to lay in here and steal. Once he get back, he going to get his shots, jordan Poole going to get his, and then you go to Washington. It's Chris Menderson, cj McCullough, a lot of veterans there. So, which is another thing, what are y'all trying to do, washington Wizards? What are y'all trying to do? So to me? Going to Utah, I'm going to go out here and get my juggles. I'm going to let it rain out here Because they're going to give you the opportunity to let it rain because, in fact, the people that they have been drafting their previous draft picks don't give all-star, at least A's mainly give all-star. So they're going to let you I ain't saying they're going to let you go out here and take 50 shots, but they're going to let you go in here and take 50 shots, but they're going to let you let the offense run through you majority of the time or half of the time. So I would want to go there if I was him, if I wanted to get my shots.

Speaker 2:

Now living, I don't know nothing about Utah. I heard, I heard a lot of things about Utah, but I also heard people a lot of things about Utah, but I also heard people had some of they most wild fun nights in Utah. So I don't know what to believe. I don't know. I don't know what you want to believe. Is Utah really that bad or is Utah? You know better than what people say? Utah has a potential storyline of Clayton is.

Speaker 1:

Utah. You know better than what people say. Utah has a potential starting line of Clayton Sexton, ace Bailey, laurie Markkinen, which I believe is he's their star at the moment. He may get traded and they got Kessler Decent bench, but I mean that's not a championship team, especially in the West. Well, you're going to get slaughtered in the West with that team man but how long do you think Laurie's going to be there?

Speaker 2:

Because at some point they got to trademark us.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm sure there might be a point where he's like man, I'm trying to win Utah. I mean, since they got rid of Donovan, mitchell and Rudy, they've been rebuilding.

Speaker 2:

Like come on.

Speaker 2:

How long are you going to rebuild? At some point you got to win the game, yeah. But yeah, I don't even think I thought about Laurie. That's why I said, that's why I went down from majority to half, but at the same time, how long he going to be there? Because at some point don't you want to win? Yeah, that's neither her nor her. But I also like they took Ace Bailey, which is high upside, but they took Clayton Jr, who is stability. You know what you're going to get out of him. So he might not be Hall of Fame level but he might, you know, edge out an All-Star game. He might turn into a like a Jalen Brunson. People didn't think a lot of him, but he ended up being something in the right system and after he develops he gets to the lead. So, yeah, I think they had. I think Utah made some interesting picks. I would say interesting. I think Utah made some interesting picks. Yeah, I'm going to say interesting. I'm going to say interesting.

Speaker 1:

So we'll just see what the Ace Bailey thing is. I mean, I doubt that he's not going to play for the Utah Jazz. Literally, the summer league starts basically next week, like at least they got a summer league training camp, like next week. So he had his wish, he didn't get it. But I mean, hey, you not, you wasn't that. You was a good player, great player. You wasn't generational to be doing that Like, I think, a lot of my biggest issue with Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey they both played with the Rutgers, my side note.

Speaker 1:

I hate Rutgers because of what they did to Louisville in 2006. Two jerseys you'll never see me wearing is a Kentucky jersey and a Rutgers jersey. But yeah, I just want to point that out, just a little side note. But you're a top five pick. You're supposed to be that dude, but your team that you play for wasn't, so that's something I have.

Speaker 2:

Dude, how, both of y'all. I mean, let's just that's a fair question. What is the reason you had two of the top three projected players? I know he went five, but he was projected to be third, so you had the second and third projected best players in this draft and I didn't make the tournament. Yeah, it's either what was the coach doing or what else was on that squad, or what was y'all team doing, because normally in basketball one player can make a difference. Y'all had two of them Two. So I don't know who to look at. Do I look at the coach, do I look at the rest of the team or do I look at them two?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that was my only issue with them guys, but I believe they'll be successful in the NBA. Here's hoping to successful careers to both of them. Until all, 60 of the players are on their draft 59, so we're coming to an end of the NBA draft. By the way, y'all made it too nice. I don't know why. I guess y'all wanted to add revenue. Is that what y'all wanted? I mean, the NBA draft is very, very boring. The NFL draft is boring, but it's a little bit more interesting than the NBA draft from our perspective.

Speaker 2:

The NFL draft on the Saturday is basically they're recapping everything that happened earlier and they're talking about the teams, what the teams is going to do. It turns into a talk show. It basically turns into a version of NFL Live. At least the NFL does that, the NBA, I don't know. Y'all got two rings, but if y'all don't put both of them, I get that it gets later, but if y'all don't put both of them rounds on TV at the same night, quit trying to be cute.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't know what they're doing there.

Speaker 2:

But their TV partners probably wanted it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they probably wanted it. Yeah, they probably wanted it. But let's go ahead and give these women some love. The WNBA they are in the mix, middle of a good season, man, and, honestly, the Minnesota Lynx and the New York Liberty they have been the top two teams. Liberty was undefeated for a while until, you know, kayla Clark came up in there, snatched it away like snatched a chain away, like it was Rashad in an ATL.

Speaker 1:

But what is your thoughts about, like so far, the WNBA season? You know Kayla Clark seems like she can't fully stay healthy. I believe she's out again. Paige Buckets she's been doing her thing. She's like we knew. We knew she was going to do her thing. Angel Reese she's been getting a lot of hey. No, she's been a double-double. She's got a couple of double-doubles, but her shooting percentage is not that great. The Chicago Sky has been that great as a whole. You would have thought they was going to be a little bit better. You know they got the woman that shall not be named on this podcast and Cordosa. You would think they'd be a little bit better. But the new team, a team that it's their first season, is doing better than you guys. They're 500.

Speaker 2:

Can we talk about how that team has worked? The most valuable team in the league.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they only played 10, 12 games. If you listen to these NBA podcasts, they talk about how Chase Center just prints money. I guess it's the correlation, because now they're the most valuable NBA franchise and they only played 12 or 13 games. Come on, man, what are we doing? What are we doing? Chicago actually looked good. I watched them yesterday, or that's how I heard this. Two nights ago, cordoza and Angel Reese bowed out but Cordoza's about to leave. I was going to say they might be ready to turn the corner, but Cordoza's about to go play for her national team, so she's going to miss some games. I think it's mid-July or something like that. But Chicago they still missing pieces and you can look at the losses to tell that they missing pieces. Like you said that name that shall not be said on this pod they banking on her to be what she was and lose. She might get there, she might not. We shall see. If she gets there, then I think they will be better, but we got to see if she's going to get there.

Speaker 2:

A team that, even though they just lost to Chicago, I don't see. I don't see them more see out of Storm games than I see Indiana FIFA games because they be on on the late night and I just be watching. I be watching TV, so I don't see a lot of see out of Storm games and I guess this is my being biased because I've seen them so much. They look really good. You know, I know they just lost to Chicago, but they look really. They look really good. So Skylar Diggins, is it Skylar?

Speaker 1:

She got two last names.

Speaker 2:

Nah, she ain't, she ain't well, she ain't married, no more. So it's only Skylar Diggins and then I don't want to pronounce my name wrong because it's the TV OESPN. Both of them have been balling now. So I think Seattle. If I did a power rankings right now, I think I would put them fourth. Imagine, like I said, I haven't seen a lot of their games so it might be a little biased setting in there, just for transparency. I think I would put them over the Aces, because the Aces don't look as good. They don't look good to me right now.

Speaker 1:

No, the Aces, they're 7-7 to. I don't know, like I said, the few games I watched, I did watch the Liberty play. It's the Liberty and the Lynx. Yeah, it's 1-2 back off. It's 1-2. It's the Liberty and the Lynx. Yeah, it's one and two Back off. It's one and two. Phoenix Sun. I said Phoenix, phoenix of Mercury are right there, but it's the Lynx. It's the Lynx and the Liberty. That's. It Looks like we're going for another collision course with them two in the finals.

Speaker 2:

Man, now Patricia, called you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, wow, she in the finals man now. Pisha called you, he called me, she want the MVP. She looking at the MVP real good.

Speaker 2:

Man, it was a Sunday, we were sitting there having family dinner. Everybody was over and they was like why is this game so long? Minnesota was waxing them, but now Pisha was just turn around, turn around. She had like 20-something. Minnesota was waxing them, but Nafisha was just turn around, turn around, turn around. She had like 20-something in the first half. I don't even know why they played it in the second half, but they did. I don't even know why they played that woman, that woman right, I guess because they tried to get some MVP balls and I think it was a Commissioner's Cup game. So point differential battles.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, man, a Commissioner's Cup game. So point differential battles. Yeah, that Commissioner's Cup man End-season tournament, I don't care about it. That's one title that matters to me, that's the one at the end. Well, we got to talk about the woman that pays the bills and draws the ratings, and that's Miss Kaitlyn Clark. If she was healthy in the season she'd be looking at that MVP the way she came back and did the Liberty a couple weeks ago, boy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you're right, if she had a play like that consistently.

Speaker 1:

But at the end of the day they are 7-8. I know that's your team. Think they can make a turnaround. Looks like they might be missing one more piece.

Speaker 2:

Well, we had a piece, Some situations happened and she wanted to leave Somebody. When I was watching the game with somebody, they was like she looked like a substitute teacher, is she an assistant coach? And I was like, nah, she's actually a player, but she's been in the league for a long time. They was like, yeah, she's actually a player, but she's been in the league for a long time. They was like, yeah, she looks like she's like a player-coach type situation and I was like, come on, man, it was a woman who was saying this. I was like, come on, we're respectful to the woman, you know, but we thought she was going to be that piece. Turned out she's not. She wanted to go elsewhere. You know, shout out to him, you know, good luck that's why.

Speaker 1:

I like that for you because you know that's a lot of players getting released, some with injuries, some just because the WNBA they're getting it. We know they're getting that expansion. They're getting some more teams. They need to start coming a little bit quicker. There's some talented people sitting on that couch right now there's some talented people who on that couch right now.

Speaker 2:

There's some talented people who ain't even getting phone calls. There's a lot of talented women basketball players and they're not even getting phone calls because that's how deep that league is.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, right now they're fit. There are 13 teams. They got to get to at least 16. I think they're getting there. When we talked about the tempo, yeah, they got two coming.

Speaker 2:

It's one more that's going to be coming. We just don't know where.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so Toronto, tampa. Another team, I think again Tennessee was put. They had in the bid Portland.

Speaker 2:

Portland is the other one, that's for sure. It's Portland and Toronto are the next two for sure, but it's going to be another one. Like you said, tennessee through they had in the ring. I know Columbus has through. They had in the ring. I know how mayor keeps saying I don't know how serious of a bid it is, but I do know how mayor keeps saying, hey, we want a team. I don't know what that does, but I know the mayor does keep saying we want a team. I don't know what that does, but I know the mayor does keep saying we want a team that's in Columbus already as well.

Speaker 1:

That's in Columbus. I believe that was Dan Gilbert for the owner of the Cleveland Association, and I mean I wouldn't be surprised if Houston wants to. But hey, if I'm Houston, y'all bringing back one team in the NBA. We had a team Y'all bringing back one team in the NBA. We had a team Y'all want to bring back the Comets. I don't know if Houston's into that, but if I'm a Houston mayor I would try to get in the throw my hat in the ring too.

Speaker 1:

I was going to say just throw your hat in the ring at this point. So WNBA still in the middle of the season, they obviously start picking it up a little bit more here Been some great games. Obviously, clayton Clark has been doing that thing. Miss Collar, they go ahead. They're starting to polish that MVP up. They're about to start putting your name on the trophy. So you keep doing what you're doing. They're going to start putting that thing on the FedEx truck and it'll be at your house by the end of August, I believe truck and it'll be at your house by the end of August, I believe.
