SPEAKER_01Hey, you already know the brand. It's your boy, Mr. Bell. I can't say your name upon this pie. Mine up with you to my. I'm good, man. I'm good. I'm cold. I'm tired of being cold. That's what's playing this one.
SPEAKER_02I'm tired of the snow. But I know somebody who does like this winter wonderland weather. Uh, friend of the pod, he knows where everything is. He knows to take his shoes off. He knows where the bathroom is.
Setting The Card And Predictions
SPEAKER_02Chris Madeley joined us again to talk about some WWE specifically Royal Rumble, and it's WrestleMania season. We had to bring out the heavy hitters. He asked me to talk, come talk about it because it's WrestleMania season, and we got a pretty good night to WrestleMania main event looking like it. But how you doing today, Chris?
SPEAKER_00I'm good. Uh I'm also kind of ready for the snow to melt. It's not really fun to walk in, so uh hopefully it goes away soon.
SPEAKER_02All right. Well, let's go ahead and get straight into it. I gotta go ahead and say Q, he he dominated me in the counter points prediction. But that's what happens when the man's prediction, Braun Breaker, gets eliminated first, and my women's prediction to win in Bianca Bel Air doesn't even enter the Royal Rumble. But obviously, uh quick rundown. We both got Drew right, we both got uh Gunther winning. I picked Brian, Q picked LA Knight, neither of us won, but we had one prediction on it. I picked Bianca Bel Air, Q got the winner for the women's correct, and Liv Morgan. Um first two, we were both wrong. Uh you was half right for the first two of the women's. You did get Charlotte Flair. It was actually um her tag partner, Alexa Bliss, Keila Mom, we'll talk about that here in a second. Um Iron Man was actually Javon. You had Roman, kind of close. Uh Iron Woman was uh Charlotte Flair. We we did not get that one right. Most elimination, this is actually a technicality. We was actually both right, even though we picked two people, uh two different people. I picked over Femi, you picked Roman Reigns. They both had five eliminations. We got the most eliminations for the women's boat, correct? It was Last Legend. Final four was all over the place, but just no cute dominated me. But let's go ahead and talk real quickly about the match that we knew how was gonna go. That's Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre. Chris, I'll let you go first. I'm sure you watched it. I'm sure you you also figured Drew was gonna win the match.
Sami Zayn vs Drew: Right Call?
SPEAKER_02Were you even interested in the match, or was it your pitch break match like it was for me?
SPEAKER_00Well, you know, I I was really kind of disappointed in that match. I thought it was a good match, but uh I was hopeful Sammy would win, even though I figured he probably wouldn't, um, which kind of brings me to another point, which I'm sure we'll talk about. But um, I would have liked to have seen Sammy, you know, since he lost that match, I would have liked to have seen him go in the rumble and win it, but that didn't work out. I just hope that they finally give him his moment at some point. Uh but who knows, it may be a few years too late for that. I mean, he was white hot uh was it two, three years ago in the bloodline storyline. So um I keep waiting for him to get his moment, but it just hasn't happened.
SPEAKER_02Hey, maybe it comes, maybe it doesn't. I think it will come eventually. They're talking way too much about him winning a world title. I think he will win it. But Q, what was your thoughts on this Drew McIntyre's family's name match?
SPEAKER_01The outcome's predictable. We knew what was going to happen. We knew that Drew was going to win this match because Drew has a Drew has a date with WrestleMania this year. He already has he already has his tango partners. So we already know what that outcome is gonna be. But I feel like this was foreshadowing, and I say that because simple fact it WrestleMania next year is gonna be in Riyadh. This is foreshadowing. They're gonna ride this Sami Zayn train of him being his love Balooza, of him getting close and all these things for a year. I think Sami Zayn's moment is going to come next year. He's going to be the the the the highlight next year's WrestleMania. So I think this this match was it as well.
Long Game For Sami’s Moment
SPEAKER_01It was predictable, I feel like it's gonna be a part of a long, a longer story. And it's this is where, well, this is where it starts here in the course uh the Sunday night's main event when he had the final fatal four way.
SPEAKER_02All right. All right, so next match, we're gonna spend a little time on this one, so you might as well get a little bit comfortable. AJ Styles versus Gunther. Gunther has been the career killer, and he did it again with AJ Styles. I gotta say, this was an excellent match. I know this wasn't as predictable. I was kind of leaning more towards Gunther because it all the signs was leading towards this is gonna be if AJ Styles he debuted 10 years ago at the Royal Rumble, kind of fitting the end at the Royal Rumble, and it's just been Gunther's thing right now, so I was leaning towards it, but I gotta lie, can't lie, I was invested in this match a whole lot. Uh, but we're probably gonna talk mostly about what happened towards the end, and then AJ
AJ Styles vs Gunther: Match Of The Night
SPEAKER_02Styles was on the podcast here recently, but after the match, AJ Styles, you know, got his got his love from the fans, took off his gloves, thought he was gonna set his gloves down, but he ended up not setting his gloves down and putting them back on. We'll talk so seemingly sounds seems like he might want to do it again, get back and run again, but we'll talk about that. I want to ask you guys how did y'all feel about this match? And did y'all think it was as good as I thought it was? Q, I'll let you go first.
SPEAKER_01The match was great. The match, the match, it was a great match. It had set in for me that Gunther was going to win. I just didn't know what was next for AJ Stands because I really didn't think he was gonna retire, retire. I just thought he was gonna be done with WWE. But the match in and itself, listen, what we like we always talk about, Gunther's a worker. Gunther's gonna be able to put on a good match with anybody. Of course, he's gonna be able to do that with a person that's on that level, who who is talking about retirement, but also has not left lost the step in the ring in AJ Styles. AJ Styles is retiring. I ain't gonna say at the top of his game, but damn near. He ain't lost too many steps, and he still puts on great matches in quality, quality matches, too. And he ain't he ain't doing it off a bunch of gimmicks. You know what I mean? A lot of people wrestlers, once they get older, they matches become more gimmicky matches. That's why the matches be called be seen as great. No, he's just still putting on great performances. So the matches great. I but like I said, it has settled in for me before the Royal Room even came on. Well, we did the pod. Once we got out of the part, it kind of hit me like, oh yeah, it's over. You know what I mean? Like, yeah, it's over. But we go, I'm gonna enjoy this last show that I'm gonna that I know I'm going to see, and take it for what it's worth.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I can't lie, though. It it a little emotion, a little emotional for me. I enjoyed AJ Styles' 10-year run in WWE, and I did. I know I watched a good amount of this stuff while he was in TNA. Um, not too much familiar with what he did in New Jap New Japan pro wrestling, but TNA and WWE, he's one of the GOATs, in my opinion. Chris, what was your thoughts on this match before we get to our thoughts on what AJ Styles is gonna do post WWE career?
SPEAKER_00Well, I I thought the buildup was really strong. Um, but it for me it really wasn't that predictable. I I didn't I didn't know for sure who was gonna win. Uh you know, it was a good back and forth technical wrestling match and great storytelling, but um, you know, like I said, it really came down to the element of surprise because for me, I just didn't know. I mean, because they made it seem like, well, maybe Gunther's gonna win, maybe A.G.'s gonna win. It was really hard to tell um who was, but I thought it was fantastic and it makes me wonder, you know, who's gonna be able to stop Gunther, who's finally gonna be the one to beat Gunther, because he's really been on a strong roll uh with how they're booking him lately. So um I thought it was a match of the night.
SPEAKER_02I I did too. Uh Randy Ort, I just want to say this. Randy Oregon you might need to keep you might need to keep some protection on you because I I I feel like he's gonna be coming for you. Right YouTube brock lesson, but we'll we'll get more to that one time.
SPEAKER_01That's the one that was it ain't Randy, it's Brock. If anything, is Brock the one that we you can see coming next.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but uh so um after like I said, after the match, AJ Styles he pretended he was putting his gloves down. He didn't he put him back on. So up until that moment, I'm like, he'll probably be done for a while. I'll be shocked if he get back into the ring. And then after the aftermatch stuff, I was like, okay, that
AJ’s Future: One-Offs Or AEW/TNA?
SPEAKER_02tells me he is probably gonna get back into the ring, maybe AEW, maybe TNA. But I don't think he's gonna do any type of um full-time deal. He'll probably do a couple, a couple of apparent deals because uh reason why I say that is though AJ Styles, he was on the Stephanie Men uh What's Your Story podcast. I didn't watch it, but I did look at some clips, did uh look at some of the transcript. But basically, Stephanie Mish is a great podcast host, she is, she asked it, she asked AJ, why did you put the gloves back on? And he basically said what most wrestling fans feel like like no wrestling wrestler retirement is like guaranteed. A lot of times they always get back. He said that if his he'll he'll get back in the ring for his son to be in a tag match and you know other things, but he basically said there is a strong possibility he will get back into the ring. But he also said something that made me think if he does get back into the ring, it will be a while, it's gonna take a lot of money. Is he said he told a story on the podcast that his wife texted him that their daughter said everybody says how lucky she is to have AJ Styles as her dad, but she says, no, everybody else is lucky because they get to have them, and their dad gets to go home to them. But I don't, my dad doesn't get to come home. But and then AJ Styles said that he was super excited because they have like a daddy-daughter dance coming up on the 11th. So that tells me it's gonna be if he does get into the ring, it's gonna be a while, and he's not doing no full-time deal. It's gonna be a couple of parents here or there. But I do think he'll eventually get back into the ring. Uh, Chris, I'll let you know give your thoughts. And where would you like to see him at? Because it probably won't be probably won't be WWE, maybe TNA, maybe FW. I honestly just assume that he was just gonna be become a trainer or no WWE scout, but who knows what what he does, Chris?
SPEAKER_00Well, you know, AJ Styles for the past few years, he said that he wants to uh leave while he's still performing at a high level. So it's really hard to say. I know me personally, I would love to see him in the AEW. There's a whole uh plethora of you know stars that he could face there. Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, uh Ricochet, um, trying to think MJF, Darby Allen. I mean, there's a whole list of guys I'd like to see him face, you know, another match with Samoa Joe would really be good. But um he might truly be done. It's really hard to say.
SPEAKER_02How you feeling?
SPEAKER_01I I don't he's not done, you know, because if he was really done, he would have took the gloves off and all of that, whatever the case may be. But I think the retirement, like you said, it's going to be a while before he actually wrestles again because it hits you when your child says something like that. When your child tells you, hey, I don't, the world gets you, I don't really get you. So then you go in parent mode where it's like, uh, I done made enough money where I can take care of the family. I'm gonna sit at home and I'm gonna stay at home and enjoy my family's time. I'm going to enjoy my retirement. And you said a couple of appearances. I don't really think it's gonna be a couple of appearances. I think it's gonna be a if it's gonna be something, it's gonna be a one-off. It's gonna be uh somebody who's running his running their mouth. Kind of like kind of like what Undertaker does. I show up and I get a pop, or I might choke slam somebody. He might do a, you know what I'm saying? He might do, I can't think of the name of the finish. Uh not the flying elbow, but the other finish.
SPEAKER_02Uh uh styles clash.
SPEAKER_01Styles clash, thank you. He might do a styles clash here and there.
Women’s Rumble Highlights And MVPs
SPEAKER_01But I think that's more so of what it would be. I don't think it would be actually appearances as far as matches. If the app if there are appearances, they're gonna be things like that just to get a to get a pop from the crowd. Because I think uh he's from he's down there from Georgia or whatever the case may be. I think be down if they in Atlanta, he'll come out and get the crowd hype, and then go home about his about his business. As far as actual matches, I don't I don't think he will go to AEW. Unless it's the Samoa Joe match. Because then you build it, because he has like Chris has said, he's been talking about retiring for at least two years now. He's been talking about retiring for two years, and we knew it was 2026 because he's been saying 2026 for two years. If he I don't think if he goes to AEW, it's basically starting over. Not starting over in the sense of people knowing him, but starting over with a bunch of fresh talent and he's gonna want to work with all of those talent. I don't I don't think he would go to AEW, unless, like I said, unless it's like a Moa Joe match. He might go to TNA to help TNA continue their arise, but I think it would be, I think it would be between TNA and WWE. I mean, yeah, TNA and WWE. Like I said, a one-off match.
SPEAKER_02What well whatever AJ Style does, he has deserved his rest. But I will selfishly I would love to see him on my television again, wherever it may be. But like I said, he deserves his rest, he deserves his time in the sun. And enjoy yourself at that daddy daughter dance. Because hey, you don't get too many of those. But let's move over to the women's royal rumble. Some highlights of mention it, Charlotte Flood and Alexa Bliss. They started out cute little moment. They faked each other out, did some fake pretend stuff. But then, no, they waited for the next person. Uh, some again highlights, Keanu James. They got you saddled in this like manger role with Julia Julia. Julia's great. Don't get me wrong. But you, you, you did your thing. You show, you show, I wasn't, I wasn't, I was familiar with your game because I watched NXT, but you showed me more than what I seen in NXT. I realized you just got back from being hurt, but she was one of the MVPs for me. Uh Last Legend. Really MVP, especially towards the end where she eliminated both the Bella Twins, E.O. Sky, and uh somebody else. He had five eliminations total, so congratulations. She impressed me so Ruka. She's gonna be big, big, big time when she gets to the main roster. She was one of the final two. She did an incredible, incredible job. Uh, something I did want to mention there's an actual women's tag division. Uh I really noticed that in this, in the Royal Roman match, because like all these people they got partners, they got help. And me and Q has been clamoring for them to actually get the tag division going, and they actually did it. I don't know if they listen to the podcast, but maybe they do. But um, thank you, WWE, for actually getting the women's tag division actually established. They do have the Bella Twins back. Bree Bella came back. But ultimately, Liv Morgan, she got the victory. Looking like she's probably gonna go out to Stephanie Valkyrie at WrestleMania since according to what happened on Monday night. But great match. I think this match was better than the men's Royal Rumble from my perspective. But in totality, great. Uh Q, I'll let you go. What go give me your highlights, give me something you like, give me something you didn't like.
SPEAKER_01Uh first, you said that the the women's was better than the men's. Ain't it been like that way for the past couple years? Yeah, and that goes along with the uh the latter matches too. Yeah. The women's been put they've been putting on the better matches here lately. Uh uh. Well, what I didn't like was the overrated chance for last legend.
SPEAKER_02I guess they should make me get some hill, getting that hill works.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I think it's more than just here. I just call it this man. I think it's more than just hell. She definitely put on a show. Um Nia Jax getting unnecessary hate. Like, just they they hate, they hate Naya Jax, which is cool because she's a hill. But Nia Jax get a lot of unnecessary hate from my perspective. Um, but like you said, so real quick. That's that's most snatching moves. It pops, it pops off the screen. It's gonna pop off the screen, it's gonna continue to pop off the screen. Um rebella being back. I think that was the loudest I
On Heat, Pops, And Surprise Gaps
SPEAKER_01heard that crowd all night, besides AJ Snatch. Like, I think that's the loudest I heard that crowd. And it was it lacked, and we could get into this with the men's road room, too, but it lacks a lot of this lack of surprises. The only real surprise for either men or women was there was like a that felt big was Brie Bella. That was the only surprise. Like even Tiffany Strang coming back, you knew she was gonna come back at some point. Yeah, so it didn't really, it felt like a bar, it felt big, but it wasn't it, it wasn't to be honest. Like the thought of it is big, but it didn't feel big. That's the better way to say it. But Brie Bella MVP. Because not only did she come back, she actually put in some moves. Yeah, so you never know.
SPEAKER_02Uh no Bianca Bell. I was a little shocked. That finger injury must be really, really bad. At this point, I'll be shocked if she's back probably after WrestleMania. I don't see her coming back. No, this is a time where all the booking players is booked. They got they got it on that whiteboard, they got know what they want to do, and it's hard to squeeze uh Bianca Bell. Well, you probably would like to squeeze Bianca Belair into your plans, but it'd be a little bit tough because she's big time.
SPEAKER_01Well, elimination champions still she could pop back up for the elimination tank book to challenge. Because McDowell's gonna have to need a challenge.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you're right. Uh, Chris, give me your thoughts on the women's uh uh Royal Rumble. And do you agree with me and Q that it was the better of the two Royal Rumble matches?
SPEAKER_00Uh I I thought it was a good Rumble. I don't necessarily know if one was better than the other. I thought they were both just okay. Um I really wanted to see Natalia win, or Natty as they're calling her now. I think she's been so kind of underrated for so long, and she's been in the Dairy to V for a very long time now. So it would have been nice to have seen a surprise and have her win, especially since she has kind of a new uh character now. She's really digging more into like the it almost kind of reminds me of Rhonda Rousey a little bit, the way she's like she's dressing and stuff, and just like the martial arts uh movesets that she's doing. But um I was really rooting for her, but Liv Morgan, I think that's a good choice. Um it'd be interesting to see what comes out of the WrestleMania match that she has. Um but you know, it seems like her and and Dominic, I feel like that's kind of dragged for so long now. Um, that story. So maybe we'll get a conclusion to that.
SPEAKER_02You prepared to drag it. Uh, I think it's gonna be something between Rhea and Liv. I'm not Rhea, um Raquel and Liv. That's coming here, probably in WrestleMania.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Liv, but that's the thing. Liv was the good choice for the winner, especially because Bianca wasn't there, because you needed somebody for Stephanie to go against. They was gonna put butts in seats.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Right.
SPEAKER_01You know, it's gonna be real. It's all about making money. Liv gonna live gonna put some butts in seats, especially if more
Men’s Rumble: Booking Misses And Brock
SPEAKER_01than likely the women's it's probably gonna be like a fight of four way with Charlotte, Charlotte Flair and Alexa, and then you're gonna have the Kabuki Warriors, and then you'll have EO and Rhea. You know what I'm saying? That's probably gonna you got all of those women in the tag team division, which like me, yeah. I mean, you've been begging for this for since we destroyed this five for them actually have a women's tag team division, but with that being the case, a lot of these women are in tag teams, so you need somebody, uh you need a name to go against Stephanie that's gonna put buzz and seats, and live is the best Liv is the best choice.
SPEAKER_02But uh yeah, so congratulations to Liv Morgan. I look forward to the WrestleMania match. But let's go ahead and move over to the men. I like to say it is I enjoyed the start, Oba came out first, that Brian. Breaker getting eliminated early. Obviously, the masked man. I don't think it was actually Sephrod was in it, but I think they'll probably say it was him down the line from my perspective. I don't know. Kind of a little over these masked attacker things. Seems like that's they've done it a little bit overboard the last couple months. But outside of that, I thought it was okay. The Royal Rumble was okay. Um only thing that kind of irked me a little bit was the Brock le Brock Lesnar. I've been on this podcast trying to defend Brock Lesnar coming back saying this is his time to start putting people over. The man was over there, he ain't putting nobody over, man. He made Ilya look stupid. Like that that annoyed me. How you well, at least sell the chops a little bit. Like, dang, go make them look stupid. Um he threw out Oba Feminine. That's cool. They had a little stirred down for a while. They, you know, just basically ringing his shoulders, threw him out. Uh hopefully Oba gets his get back at WrestleMania. And then the thing that really bothered me, though, like, okay, you're gonna eliminate Brock Lesnar. Is this gonna be Cody at LA Knight? Y'all gonna do it during that J. Uso entrance? Like, come on, yeah. It's Brock Lesnar. That elimination should be bigger. And you could have you could have gave it to somebody else besides Cody and LA Knight. Made a bigger deal. That arked me a little bit, but like you said, that was really no surprise us. There was a Mr. Iguana. Uh forgot the guy's name. Another guy from Triple A. LaParker. LaParka. Um LA Knight came back, but we knew he was coming back. I think he got probably the biggest pop of all the people that got the entrances. Gunty, uh, I will say, when Gunther came out at 30, I thought he was gonna win it. I was like, oh, he got this. He just, he just, he's about to have him a great night. He just ended AJ Styles' career. Then he already won the Royal Rumble. But ultimately, it became Roman Reigns that won it. He could he wins his second one, which I'm not upset about. I wasn't upset about it like I figured I would be. I was like, okay, that's not a bad decision. Uh before we talk about what happened on Monday, Chris, I'll let you start. What was your thoughts on the totality of the Royal Rumble? Uh Over Femi should. I just want to before I let you go, Over Femi should have got a lot more eliminations and should have been there a little bit longer. But Chris, I'll let you go.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I agree with uh Oba. I think he should have been in the final four, really. Um I thought he was one of the better uh parts of that rumble. Um I I was kind of disappointed, kind of the lack of surprises. I was really expecting uh, you know, there's been rumors that Chris Jericho is supposed to be coming back to Dere to be, so I was really expecting him to be in the rumble, but that's just me getting caught in the internet, which you know you can't really do. We should get disappointed. But um, you know, I was kind of bummed that Roman won because I feel like, well, does he really need to win this rumble? But and we'll get into this in a few minutes, but after what transpired on Monday Night Rumble, I think it was an okay decision. But I I kind of wish they would go back to uh like how last year when Jay Uso won the Rumble, you know, nobody expected that. Um so I kind of like it, you know, when they could kind of throw you a surprise, you know. Like I said, I thought it would have been great if Sami Zayn came out after his loss to McIntyre if he was to come back and enter the Rumble and win, or someone like Finn Balor, even though Adam Pierce told him the spots were full, have him attack somebody and have him win the Rumble. Um, but it was okay. You know, looking back on this a year from now, it probably won't be my favorite Rumble of all time. Just because it just, I don't know, not much really interests me besides Oba and uh I'm trying to think. Yeah, Oba really. I think he was the star of the Rumble, but um I don't know. It's just just mediocre, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_02Uh I mean in another part, like I've defended Logan Paul. I actually like Logan Paul. I like, you know, I like his wrestling. He's a pretty good wrestler. He didn't need to be in the final four, though. He did not need to be in the final four. I don't know why he was in the final four, but he was neither there. Q I'll let you go.
SPEAKER_01You know why he was in the final four. The same reason Roman won. At the end of the day, it's about money.
Masked Angles And Midcard Detours
SPEAKER_01It's just um the the actual actual Royal Rumble, the men's Royal Rumble to me wasn't good. It was alright. It was okay, you know what I'm saying? It was good, it was okay. That's why I say the women's was better because at least the women's I can say was good.
SPEAKER_02Royal Rumbles is hard to be God off of, yeah, at least entertaining because of that match type.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so that's at least the women's I can say was good. The men's I just it didn't do nothing for me. It it was all right. I got so to me, I'm a WCW kid. So when LaParker came out, to me, I was like, oh, this is what's up. And then I understand it because simple fact they try to promote triple A. They cry on that right, because simple fact it ain't that ain't current WWE, they ain't actually watching Triple A like I be doing when I'm boarding the house. They ain't they don't go back to WCW days. La Parker La Parker has a lineage. Does it I get that you were trying to promote triple A, but you kind of did that with Mr. Iguana. You probably didn't need you, he probably have the double deal with LaParca. You know what I'm saying? That probably should have been a spot for maybe a Finn Balor or Chris Jerko. Me personally, I was cool with LaParca, but I understand the bigger picture here. Um the Brock Brock Lesnar didn't sell the he didn't sell because he don't want to sell. He only gonna sell for the names. If it ain't a big name, Brock Lesnar ain't gonna sell for him, and he ain't gonna take an L for him. It's just it just is what it is. He didn't he didn't got to that stature because WWE allowed him to get to that stature. Then he ain't gonna he ain't taking it, he ain't taking too many L's and he ain't doing too much selling. He's gotta look like the monster. Even when him and Oba was, you know, had their little moments in the ring. Oba never really had the opportunity to get his hands on Brock. Brock did, but Oba didn't get that opportunity. Oba should have had that opportunity. They should have booked it that way, but they don't. So strong possibility, Brock don't allow them to book it that way. It is what it is. Um I think they missed that cue with also speaking of Brock, I think they missed that cue. Yeah. And I think the camera probably wasn't supposed to be focused on Jay for that long because Jay was just coming through the ground. It probably was supposed to pan back.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, I thought I thought that was how it's like Brock Glass would get eliminated is a bigger though. Uh La Parker.
Roman vs Punk Locks Night Two
SPEAKER_02Yeah, La Parka or somebody. No offense. You can you can maybe miss that and replay it again. But that one you gotta uh you gotta put eyes on it all. Uh one thing I did fail to mention as on me bad podcasting, uh El Ground Americano and then uh El Ground Americano, Louis, Louis Kaiser, and the original El Ground Americano, Chad Gable, they had a little face-off. I'm assuming y'all both think we're probably gonna have a mass versus mask in WrestleMania. Or are y'all even interested in that feud? You know I'm not.
SPEAKER_01No, you know I'm not. You know I hate this they're gonna give me. You know, I you know be personal. I hate this they're gonna give me when the the when the first one came out, I was like, all right, bro, whatever. And then it just never it never dawned on me. I heard Chad Gables healthy. This is this is how they're gonna break Chad Gable back.
SPEAKER_02And they're gonna put Chad Gable is Chad Gable, right?
SPEAKER_01Then they're gonna put OG the uh Lucha, uh whatever's name, Americano. OG fam, cut this hell. I don't want this to go to WrestleMania. Do it at elimination table, get this over with and get this done and get this out the daggone way. It was fun at first, yeah, and it carried on this long, it's like a year later, it feels like, and we still doing this.
SPEAKER_02It's been yeah, it's been uh Americano, he basically was a year because uh Mericano had a wrestling uh wrestleman match last year, so it's been over a year since Americano debuted. Why are we still doing this? And I get I get Chad get hurt, but come on, and I'm not gonna Louis, he has done an excellent job. He has but integrating himself into gimmick, but hey man, that's really not Louis can actually sell matches.
SPEAKER_01Let that man go out here and wrestle.
SPEAKER_02Chad can wrestle, let these dudes and a man as part of an American-made stable. Build that stable up, man. Y'all got the world greatest, or y'all got team angle light right there in your hands. Use them. It's team angle light, but they don't want to use them. They wasted it. But let's go ahead and talk about the big thing. Um, we talked about Liv probably going up against uh Stephanie Valkyrie. We talked about probably the Americanos. I'm hoping Oba gets us get back against Brock Lesnar and WrestleMania, but but but but we know it's gonna be night two main event, and we saw it on Monday night. It's gonna be Roman Reigns going against CM Punk for the World Haven Way title. Y'all know it's going, y'all know it's night two because it's Roman Reigns and CM Punk. Roman Reigns for World Title II, yeah, it's night two. So they had an excellent promo on Monday night. They shit on Drew McIntyre a little bit. If I'm Drew McIntyre, you gotta say you gotta say something on Friday. Just let you know, Drew. You can't let that slide because they was they was doing you a little bad. But I was intrigued in the match after the promo. I'm really interested in the match, and I'm excited for WrestleMania night too. But I'm not 100% sure who can win because it's Roman. You never know when Roman's in a match, like the Royal Rumble. I know he was in the match. I knew it was possible he could win it, but you never know. But I'm excited about the match. Chris, you uh wanted to come on the podcast specifically to talk about this part. Let me get your thoughts. CM Punk Roman Reigns, night to WrestleMania. How excited are you about it?
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, that
Filling The Road To Mania: Finn, Cody, Drew
SPEAKER_00that segment Monday night, it sold me already on WrestleMania. And WrestleMania is not even until April. So the fact that they did this so early, I I think it's gonna be hopefully a great build. Uh, hopefully it's not something where Roman disappears for four to six weeks and punk is kind of carrying the feud by itself.
SPEAKER_02But um that's why he that's why he uh talked about Finn Balor before that. He uh hit him take a detour with Finn Balor for some reason.
SPEAKER_00Which I'm excited for that too, Punk and Finn Balor. Um hopefully that elevates Balor a little bit and they keep the momentum because obviously he's not gonna beat Punk for the title, but hopefully they can continue to push him after that. But um, yeah, I'm hooked already, and I just hope that it delivers. Um you know it you got two big megastars in Punk and Roman. What could what could go wrong?
SPEAKER_02Famous last words, Chris. Don't say that. Knock on some wood, please, and thank you. But I do agree, it's gonna be an excellent mess. Two megastars. They both got history. They talked about it extensively. Uh CM Punk famously brought in Roman Reigns and um Seth Rollins and um John Moxley, then Dean Dembros as the shield into WWE. But I hope I want I'm gonna be interested to see if they bring up the fact that CM Punk technically did not want Roman Reigns. He wanted uh Cassius Odo at the time, I think Chris Hero, another name. That's who he wanted. WWE's like, nah, scratch Chris Hero, we'll bring in Roman Reigns. What if they're gonna bring that aspect up? I'd be intrigued. But you also know Paul Heyman, he's gonna maybe have some, he's probably gonna be brought up, even though he's in a different storyline, he's probably gonna be brought up in some way, shape, or form. Because they both have heavy history. Uh, Q, how you feeling about WrestleMania Night 2's main event?
SPEAKER_01The fact that we already know what WrestleMania Night 2 main event is, and it's February 5th is kind of uh how y'all gonna do this? And we all let's be real, we all know Roman going away for a couple weeks. Just we we know that Roman's going away for a couple weeks. Roman ain't working every week up until because then it's going to get stale because of something that's he's gonna promos, bro. He's just gonna do promos, he's gonna do some talking, and you don't want a bunch of them clashing too early because then it, you know what I'm saying? It don't sell the show, it's February. We gotta carry this until April. But again, BT, I mean BT, Lord, WWE gotta sell tickets. So I this hey, this is Sunday night right here. So y'all gonna get y'all tickets. This is Sunday night. Rome, so Roman winning. I wasn't I wasn't, I wasn't mad or happy about. I was kind of indifferent because the simple fact, yes, I would have rather rather it be a surprise or somebody that I wasn't expecting. I I also didn't want it to be Cody because Cody needs time away from the title picture. Hey, he's gonna be for Russell Drew at WrestleMania. He needs to lose that match, just he don't need to win that match, but I didn't want it to be Cody and I wanted it to be a surprise, so I kind of was disappointed disappointed in that, but I also wasn't like I wasn't happy because it's like it's it's room, you know what I'm saying? So it's kind of like I mean, I was happy for those reasons. I wasn't sad because it's Roman, it's kind of like I'm indifferent about Roman. Roman knows how to put on a show, he he knows how to carry, he does the storytelling. He goes back to when John Cena said it's a promo kid, learn how to do it, basically. He knows how to do them now, and he does them really well, so it gets you excited. I would love to see Roman in like some like type of tag team match at um at Elimination Chamber. So it's like he said, it's not that he just went away, he got something else going on. But I don't know what that match could be. I also don't like it can't be the vision because the vision got their whole LA night issue, and the vision's kind of that's a whole nother conversation. But I want to see, I want to see Roman do something else because he and Punk are going after Finn Balor. But you also tie in the fact that Finn Balor and Roman had a
Gunther, Orton, And The Open Lanes
SPEAKER_01match. Them them ropes just broke out of thin ear with Finn. With Finn Balor versus Roman, and that never was explained. If the ropes just broke, so I don't know. Maybe Finn Balor attacked Roman as well. We get something going. Yeah, but uh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Elimination Chamber is in Chicago, obviously Campunks hometown. So you know he's gonna be there, you know he's gonna have a match. We will see if Roman Reigns is there. Um, you did talk about Cody, he's gonna probably be facing Drew McTyre. It's looking like it's gonna be a triple throw between Jigaphot 2 and Cody Rhodes and Drew McTyre. I'm interested to see how they get there because we know Elimination Chamber is coming up. Are they just gonna have one of them win and then the other one squeeze his way into the match, or are they gonna do some double pin the shenanigans or something? I'm interested to see how they get to this triple third match because we know Eli Nation Chamber is up next. We know how it's supposed to go. The winner goes and challenges the champion that the Royal Roman winner didn't pick. So we'll see. Um I'm kind of ready to get past the limitation chamber and get straight to uh WrestleMania because we kind of see what's the writing on the wall of the match cards, but outside of obviously Roman Reigns CM Punk and some of the matches we do know, is there a match out there that you are hoping to see at a WrestleMania that has not been announced or has not been insinuated yet?
SPEAKER_01Uh Q I mentioned, but I guess I insinuated it earlier. The uh the women's tag team championship. I want to like a fight a full way, you know what I'm saying? EO and uh EO and Rhea, um Charlotte and Alexa Bliss. You get the Kabuki Warriors, I was gonna say the other tag team will be the Bellas. I also wouldn't be mad if you had the Judgment Day, but I don't think the Judgment Day is still gonna be have tag team capability come WrestleMania because of you know what I'm saying, uh the um Liv Morgan uh eliminating uh Raquel. So I don't know if that's gonna be a possibility, but a fight of our way with Raquel in uh Roxanne would be great as well.
SPEAKER_02Chris, is there a match out there that you that has not been announced or has not been insinuating that you hope happens?
SPEAKER_00Uh is Dragonoff still the US champion? No, it's a Carmelo. Carmelo. Okay. Um well I I think if they did like a multi-man like ladder match, like I think they did one of those a few years ago for one of the mid-card titles. Uh, that'd be interesting. But my question is, what where is Gunther gonna fit in with WrestleMania? Because nothing really seems clear right now in terms of what he's gonna be doing.
SPEAKER_02That's a great question. I just it just it just dawned on me. I don't know. Because so far, well what I what I can't tell you, Brock is either facing Gunther or Oba. I'm assuming it's Oba. Because I'm assuming Brock Lesnar's last match is gonna be in Summersman when it's in Minnesota, his whole career. So that's my assumption.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so I'm thinking that's a Gumper. So like you said, it would be Oba in Brock here. So where does Gunther go?
SPEAKER_02I don't And like he's doing his whole career thing. I do you want to see him fail at retiring somebody? Because you know you maybe can give him Randy Orton, but he fails. Or he's not I know somebody I've I've heard the Rey Mysterio thing because of what happened on the show. He um choked out Dragon League. I'm a like I know Gunter's doing this retirement thing, but there's only one person that needs to be retiring uh Rey Mysterio, and it's not Gunter. It's supposed to be, it should be Dom. Yeah, it should be Dom. So I you you raise a great point now. I don't know what Gunther's gonna be doing.
SPEAKER_00I'd like to see him and Dragonoff have a match. Uh I I'm a big fan of Dragonoff. I think that'd be an excellent match for WrestleMania.
SPEAKER_02Dang, it will be an excellent match. How
Final Thoughts And Sign-Off
SPEAKER_02they get there though.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right. That's that's the thing. How do they get there, especially with them two being on separate brands? How do they get there? I don't that's a great point. I don't know where Dontha fits into the WrestleMania thing.
SPEAKER_00And uh another question would be do you all uh anticipate Chris Jericho being involved in WrestleMania, or do you think they'll save him afterwards, or does he even come back to DV?
SPEAKER_02Uh you bought a Chris Jericho. Uh I've been listening to some podcasts and they've been actually doing like Chris Jericho watch. They know he's he's in a band of Fozzy. They've been doing what looking at his tour dates. His tour, his tour is kind of kind of busy.
SPEAKER_01So I was gonna say he's WrestleMania.
SPEAKER_02He's kind of busy, so I he might be uh wouldn't mind seeing the countdown on uh the Raw after Mania, he comes out like he did in 1999 when The Rock was out there. So I wouldn't mind one of those, but I think it'll be out there. I think it'll be after Mania.
SPEAKER_01It's the unleader question, where you put Gunther, right?
SPEAKER_00Randy Orton, too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and I said you do you the only issue with pairing Randy Orton and Gunther together, obviously on different brands, but WWE doesn't care about that that much, they can do the whole career thing, but Randy's not retiring. And do you want Gunther to feel at retiring somebody's career?
SPEAKER_00Well, I'd like to see Randy Orton involved with whatever Cody's doing. I think it's time to turn him heel and jumpstart the Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton storyline. If I was booking this, I would have Orton uh interfere in Cody's title match and cost him the the uh title and you know injured does the punt kick to Cody, sends Cody away, and then they have a match at SummerSlam or something. I I think it's really about time they pull the trigger and turn Orton heel because I think they've been kind of teasing it over the past year.
SPEAKER_02They've been teasing it too long, honestly.
SPEAKER_00And it hasn't happened. Now's the time to do it. Do something at the chamber where it comes down to Cody and Orton. Cody wins, Orton turns on him at Mania. Uh and there you go.
