Holy Silence, Heavy Questions (Habakkuk 1:1-11) May 04, 2025

Today we begin a new sermon series in the Old Testament book of Habakkuk! P. Sam helps us understand this opening passage in Habakkuk 1:1-11. The prophet of God, a man of deep faith, does not begin with a pronouncement or declaration of God's goodness, but rather, questions God's silence.

He doesn't understand what he was seeing unfolding among Judah - their corruption, their idolatry, their social and relational injustice - and yet - God remained seemingly quiet. Why? Have you ever had questions about injustice, the evil that you see among God's own people, and also in the world, and yet, why does it often feel like God is silent and quiet in moments like that?

Join us in this first week of a 7 week sermon series, as we unpack some of these large and deep questions - as Habakkuk had - about the silence of God in a world full of injustice and evil.
