P. Teddy helps us unpack John 17:11, 14-19, and 2 Corinthians 5:20. In His final prayer before the cross, Jesus doesn't ask the Father to remove His followers from the world — He asks that they be sanctified and sent into it. Together, John 17 and 2 Corinthians 5 paint a picture of what it means to be the church: a people set apart by the truth, yet fully present in the world as ambassadors of reconciliation.
We are not called to retreat from the culture around us, but to represent the one who sent us — bringing the message of God's reconciling love to everyone we encounter.
