We've got another league evolution discussion during our guest segment centered around the fantasy football trade deadline , which we'll all be excited again to because you know we've seen a lot of action the last six weeks .

Speaker 1Completely agree . I mean , zach , how the tables have turned right . So we welcome you to this guest segment and I'm excited to have you share with our listeners a little bit about yourself , your history with this league . Why don't you start off by telling us a little bit about your team name and its origin story ?
Speaker 2Absolutely so obviously , as you can tell , a chiefs kingdom grew up as a chiefs fan and if I was anything like the receivers we have , I probably would have dropped my mic just now . What a atrocious wide receiver room we have right now , but what a brutal game last night .
Speaker 1It was scantling in the end zone . Game winner Just can't hang on to it .
Speaker 2I actually read a stat today One percent of my homes in completions are drops this year .
Speaker 1The chiefs lead the league in most drop pass .
Speaker 2So yeah , just growing up a chiefs fan always been tough . Obviously , since my homes it's been a little bit different , but chiefs kingdom just representing my team and felt like I needed to pick a team name that I could stick with year in and year out , not changing year , which is nothing against ones that want new names every year . Just wanted a team name , that's just the same . Back in the day hearing about the league , all that kind of draft weekend stories , just different things , and always wondering , hey , how do I get a chance in this league ?
Speaker 1It just sounds like a great league You're like , can you kick a family member out , or something ?
Speaker 2Yeah , your dad , whoever it is , can somebody miss a draft weekend so I can get in there ? He said you don't even understand the whole process . There's a waiting list , there's the interview process , all of that . The interview is brutal . Oh , it's brutal . I mean , he talked me through it on the phone beforehand and I still don't think I knew what I was getting myself into with the interview process , which was great though .
Speaker 1It's crazy .
Speaker 2Yeah , so all of that the waitlist , interview process and , of course , coming around to 2017 , a couple guys are out . I get a call . They say the league that we talked about years ago . Are you still interested ? Of course , and I think , no joke . Within maybe two hours , I was getting fired at 50 messages per second on Group Me of just random questions on the interview process .
Speaker 2You got added into a chat , correct , and then we just pepper you with all kinds of live questions , fantasy football questions , whatever it is Correct , yeah , but as we talk about , that's part of this league , though is that process of making sure that we're vetting everybody that comes through here , that it's the right person ?
Speaker 1It's important stuff , man , it's important stuff .
Speaker 2It absolutely is . So at that time there I felt like a minor league baseball player getting the call to the majors . I'd played in other fantasy football leagues . I've heard about this , one Questioned about it , always finding out details about it and finally got that call . For me it felt like that , that call to the big leagues that day . So that was a but yeah . So year seven and looking forward to many more obviously .
Speaker 1Year seven . Wow , that's crazy how time has flown . Now in our league , as you were well aware from all these other guest segments , you can either win a championship , a last place award or a Bazinga slash Jackass award . So can you tell the listeners which awards you have won , how many times for each you know , and also any stories that may come with it ?
Speaker 2Yeah . So with all these you know great awards we have some of them . You are very fortunate to win , Obviously , the trophy , and in others you're a little bit less fortunate if you're nominated or you end up stuck in the last place , whatever it is . So , fortunately , I have never been nominated or won the Bazinga award , which is , you know , a good thing . I've had to travel alongside it with other people that have that you have .
Speaker 2Great stories with watching that , but glad it wasn't me . I've never finished in last place to have that award . I did get my name on the trophy my second year in the league , so 2018 was my first year I won . I think I actually went to the championship the following year and lost to you . Trying to go back to back , oh that's right . Which I could be wrong on this , but I think it would have been the first time in league history . Going back to back , no , I think most vet has done it , I think .
Speaker 1I think he did back to back . I could be wrong . We might need to check with our production team . Next episode listeners will get you that information . I want to say most vet went back to back . He is a two time champ , so that's funny thing was I was associated with that because in one of those back to backs me and most that played and it was the closest .
Speaker 2This is the one was like less than like a tenth of a point .
Speaker 1Yeah it was like it was . I just needed a completion from Eli Manning being a quarterback and you don't get many points . It's like a point for 25 yards . I needed like a 10 or 11 yard completion to win it and it ended it was . We were all waiting for a stat correction the following day , so just waiting for it . Yeah , championship game that close yeah .
Speaker 2Oh , dude , it was , it was a , it was . It was a lot of fun .
Speaker 2I know we talked about the 2018 season with with 44 Magnum on the last episode and I was actually looking back at the the playoff run there day after we had , you know , yeah , talked about the run because the team he had that year was unreal and , looking back on it , I just saw in our league history and our production team was able to verify this for me I had quarterbacks of Carson Wins rookie Josh Allen and Nick Foles as my as my playoff run quarterbacks that year and I understand why 44 Magnum would be a little tilted .
Speaker 1I think what's a team that he had . I think that loss still stings to this day .
Speaker 2Oh I I hear about it at least at least once a week .
Speaker 1I don't think we heard from 44 Magnum . It was probably a minimum of like 72 hours before he decided to jump back into the group . Chat it that stung he was . You know what I know reminded me of the what is it ? That team reminded me of what was the 99 or 98 Vikings with Cunningham Cunningham ?
Speaker 2when they were Carter .
Speaker 1They had Robert Smith like the running back . They were like you can't stop them right . They were like the new run , run and shoot . At that time , at that moment this was the year prior to the Rams I think they had the highest scoring offense in the NFL . They were destined and they just ran into some bad luck in the playoffs against the Falcons and I think they lost that game because one of the most like , accurate kickers in NFL history , which was , I think , gary Anderson right , he missed it and they went into overtime and Morton Anderson , I think , won it for the Falcons and the Falcons stood no chance against the Broncos . The Super Bowl that could have been the Broncos and the Vikings . That we didn't get Right With that Vikings team reminds me of Ken's team and I know , I know you beat him and like Kudos to you , but his team was insane .
Speaker 2Oh it was . I mean we talked about on last episode how good and how stacked that team was . Yeah , I mean it was , and I think , when I look back at it too , he still put up 150 points that week . And you know just Other teams when you're there , team out scores you . But yeah , it's that's fantasy football .
Speaker 2It's , it absolutely is , and , like you said , and then if the same thing goes with that same year for me without I won , I went on to play , to play tinder didn't a championship and I don't think it was really that close . So kind of the same comparison that you're bringing to the table there as well crazy , crazy , crazy .
Speaker 1All right , so . So obviously you've been in this league since 2017 . Share with us a moment you know is . Is there a moment , a memory or an event in these last Seven seasons that kind of stands out the most to you ?
Speaker 2Yeah , you know what ? There's so many great events on a yearly basis , all the different thing , activities , different things that go on . One memory that's kind of just , you know , not not related to per se fantasy football in any way , but just just the activities that we do . So we're at commission's house for for draft one year , obviously poker night is going on , and then after poker this this evening it's obviously late at night . There was a couple of us that decided to jump on a golf cart and find the finding orchards out , you know , down the street and I think I remember
Speaker 2this pitch black . I don't even couldn't even recall who exactly was with us . I know , I know Dizzle was with us . I know lozen found was on the cart . You know a couple others may have been on as well .
Speaker 2We have music playing , nothing crazy , just driving through the orchards having a good time .
League Dynamics and Old Man Flash
Speaker 2But , like I said , it's pitch black and there's a you know out where . We're pretty far out there , we end up hitting excuse me , end up hitting some trees and hitting some bumps , we end up losing somebody off the car and we don't know for a little , for a few minutes , and I'm like , hey , I think lozen found is is down . If we got to go back and find them loose , loose is lost , it's loose is lost . And this makes so much sense of lozen found Of why is to me it just always it happens to be lozen found , you know . So we're driving through , can't find , and we head back to the house . Still still no , no sign of them . We , we go back to the , go back to the orchards . There is lozen found , all you know , all dirt all over him . He had taken a taking a fall off the cart . You know , none of us knew .
Speaker 2It was late at night , but just just those different . You know activities that we do , what they lead to , how much fun we're always having . That will be in , you know , one of those memories that Just always is gonna stand out .
Speaker 2It just stands out for me because of all the other you know , all the other memories we've already heard so far that Every single one of us can can talk about and you know and talk you know further on , if you know just something different . That was for me . That's always gonna stick out , especially early in the league . You know my early .
Speaker 1Oh yeah , I mean absolutely , and there was always a you know what . What has evolved from like draft day To draft weekend , to draft long weekend , to now what we almost called draft week right . Because the some of us are there for like six , seven days . There's just all these opportunities for memories that happen and the camaraderie and the brotherhood and everything that it builds Just makes for just an amazing league . Yeah , I remember that . I remember that it's quite fitting that lozen found was the one that was lost and found .
Speaker 2Yeah , I think in this story that was , you know that , one of the biggest reasons that just it happens , you're in and you're out . It seems like you know whether it's , but he's , but he's always found that's that's one team name .
Speaker 1I hope he , I hope he never changes . It's just so fitting . It's , it's perfect . I'm jealous , I'm jealous , okay . So next question , so obviously , is that , given this league's history with how it's treated its family and relatives , you know , I want to know if you're worried about what could happen to your old man , who we call old man flash Does ? Does that add any added stress to you , especially with the Bazinga ward ? As we all know , is is Really close to being teetering , to being called Whatever old man flashes team name could be , like he's in the running .
Speaker 2I mean when you're getting nominated year in and year out , for you know every year you're in the league . It's understandable , but as we know , it's a . It's a cutthroat league , right Like it is . I've got to worry about my own team .
Speaker 1I've got to worry about my own travel plans .
Speaker 2I got to worry about all these other things , you know .
Speaker 2With that being said , some of the decisions that he has made , extremely questionable . Yeah , you know , benching a quarterback against you know , whatever team it was that week I , you know , I can't recall but Drafting to $30 quarterbacks in a draft , drafting retired players Flying halfway to you know , a destination draft and driving the rest of the way , just different , you know , different questionable calls , anybody you know questioning why nobody is driving with him on draft weekend , why nobody wants to be in his car . But it doesn't add any extra stress to me , to you know , to to your point , like I said , I got to worry about my own team , you know , and to be honest , it is , I would say it's pretty cool to be in such a great fantasy football league when you can bring your dad around , and so , you know , props to him , to you know , to be able to take all the what we give him , what he , what he does , all deserving , obviously . But for myself , you know , like I said , hey , whatever happens , happens , and he's got to take care of his own team .
Speaker 2He does because you know there's been talks of you know me running two teams . I will tell you right now , and I'll put this on record I will never Be put in a spot where I'm running a one-in-ten team .
Speaker 1Yeah , no exactly .
Speaker 2And I think that should clear up that running two teams .
Speaker 1We will obviously get into the career statistics later , but I think it's pretty evident that Zach's Footprint thumbprint is has nowhere near old man flashes team . That's , yeah , that's , that's . That is all on him , he's . He's got a lot to do to turn around . You know , I almost feel like I mean , should we start like a go fund me page for ? Him to , so he can purchase some fantasy football Material , study guides and so on .
Speaker 2I was actually starting to wonder if Losin found was giving him the year before Magazines that he has . That might explain it . And that's what's . You know what's going on .
Speaker 1I mean that that could very well , or he listened to the wrong podcast and he's listened to a dynasty league . He's like I'm gonna draft two quarterbacks , trade some of them for draft capital later . Whatever it is he's , you know what we'll . We'll get into those career statistics doubt , doubt down the road . But I mean , here's the thing Every league has got to have an old man flash . You have to have that player . That just it gives you the opportunity . Like we love old man flash , right , and he is fast . That is one thing . That career statistics wise , no one will you know below you in , you in and diesel .
Speaker 2He's tough to compete with yeah , no , I think , like you said , every league's got to have one right every least . Gotta have always , always down to go along with everything , and he's , he's a national whether he's my you know my dad or not .
Speaker 2I think you know the addition to the league was at that time it was . It was actually , I know it was . You know it's pretty heated . It was heated . It was a quick decision we had to make at that time , but I think in the end , it was probably the right decision at that now that we look back on it at the end with the vote , and yes . I think for you know , for him sticking around , and let's , let's .
Speaker 1Let's dive into that for a quick moment because if , if I remember so , we had that's a first-ever live interview . We had poker night on a Friday night . We had two people , which was old man , flash , and another gentleman that I can't remember his name . Yep , that we've done the interview process . We they were it both invited over for draft weekend to kind of hang out . The default . One might have been like the auctioneer right , something like that .
Speaker 1This is during like COVID correct and it goes to like an outside Pull . Pull away from the poker tables , let's go talk .
Speaker 2Let's go talk , right .
Speaker 1Correct and I know what I voted for . But I know that outside , whatever happened , your , your old man flash , was voted in , the other gentleman was not , and I still don't know the details of this there . There there was quite a bit alcohol that was going down that night . That might have been the night that I played Kanye for like four straight hours . I might have spilled some vodka on the table . Gmfr's wife might have been upset with me . There was a lot of things that happened that night , but all I know is the next morning there was announcement from one of the two commissioners Mosvet about some unwritten rule that happened , where a discussion about who voted for who Right brought up with one or two of the individuals and I and I actually didn't want to start sharing too much right now Because I didn't want to get that call on Friday , friday morning , right now .
Speaker 2So that's why I didn't go too far into it . But you're absolutely right .
Speaker 1It was a big deal .
Speaker 2It was . It was a big deal .
Speaker 1It was a serious moment . I was looking around and I was like wait , hold on . I know I drank a lot . Did I bring it ? I might have brought it up . I still don't know who , I still don't know what happened .
Speaker 2I , you know , it's kind of sitting there like and a to your point now , of , like , family being in the league , like did I say something that I ? I had no idea , we still have no idea . And but to your point though , of just these , you know , are that Our league , of what it appoints to ? You know how serious we take these things .
Speaker 1Oh it's serious , it was , it was a cut , it was a serious draft a conversation . Gentlemen , we have to talk about something that happened last night . That was quite serious , yes , and I think a lot of us were like what in the world is going on right now ? Like what happened ? Was that me ? I have no idea . I mean , it's poker night . Maybe wild things happen . A poker night Players fall off of golf carts , right absolutely .
Speaker 2There's a lot of stuff that happens on that night .

Speaker 1It's our first cold case , yeah , all right . So , uh , oh , let's in this with . Let's talk about your season , zach , and kind of like like recap your season , where you're at . You know what your record is . I know we're gonna go into the the whole league later , but just tell me a little bit about , like , your current status . What's gone right , what's what's what's gone wrong ? Has your plan come to fruition on what you thought it would be ?
Speaker 2Yeah . So you know , sitting here , obviously after week 11 at 8 and 3 , I've won five in a row , which obviously winning , you know , multiple in a row is always hard to do , so when five in a row feel good about that .
League Evolution and Draft Strategy
Speaker 2This year I kind of wanted a different approach with my draft . You know , like we've talked about before , of more depth than kind of , you know , a little bit different than what 44 Magnum you know went with this year , like we talked about more of the high-end , just a couple of those , those big-name players . I went more depth . I drafted , you know really well at running back , james Connor , breeze Hall , kamara White , montgomery Dobbins , so I felt really good there , you know , coming in six . You know you say Connor as well , james Connor as well , so you're running backs .
Speaker 1Let's recap that you did Kamara Breeze Hall , montgomery Connor , jk Dobbins and Rashad White and Rashad White , so you had six backs that were wow yeah and I knew exactly I wanted the depth .
Speaker 2I knew it was gonna be . You know , take some time at the beginning , breeze Hall limited to begin the season . I knew he wasn't gonna full workload until week five or six , kamara being suspended at the get-go . So I knew it was gonna be a slow start and I start 0-2 . So I didn't panic . I knew kind of stick to the plan , lost JK Dobbins to a 20 killies week one and since then of 1 , 8 of 9 . So that's you know exactly kind of what I was expecting . You know , as far as just to plan more depth , have st Brown at receiver . I always knew I was gonna have to pick up a second receiver somewhere , but you know it's kind of what's gone . What's gone well this year is just having that depth and be able to use that . What a draft I Mean .
Speaker 1You know , I think I think that one player that I think everybody missed on that , if he would have hit expectations , I Think you'd I mean you're already up there but was Trevor Lawrence . I think we all thought Trevor Lawrence was gonna be in the upper echelon , a fantasy QB's . Doug Peterson , year two , all the weapons he had , ridley , I mean , etienne , evan , ingram , christian Kirk , you like the guys got weapons and he just hasn't , like no , and you're absolutely right that that's one of the things that I feel like has gone wrong with my tiniest years .
Speaker 2Obviously , the quarterback spot . I have not got one week this season where I've got 20 plus points for my quarterback spot , which is , you know , as we know , 20 points is should be you know yeah , it's kind of just average you get . There . Haven't had one 20 point week . I mean I missed out on this last week . Benching Trevor Lawrence fine , yeah , the most points out of any and he goes off for 36 .
Speaker 2Yeah , so the one week right , Another thing that kind of has you know , that hurts . You know , I feel like this year is I did drop two high-end tight ends .
Speaker 1Oh yeah , andrews .
Speaker 2I sat in them all . You sat on both of them all year , had plenty of trade offers for one of them , or for both of them , I should say I played , you know two , two tight-end sets a couple weeks , but coming down to this , you know the trade deadline . This last week I turned down multiple offers .
Speaker 1You know that we had some conversations about that , not not for trading amongst ourselves , but what that market Could look like , because we had our trade deadline that came up , which we're gonna dive into more later .
Speaker 2Yeah , not trading him . Obviously didn't know who's gonna , you know , break his leg the week after that . I don't trade him .
Speaker 1I think we had the conversation the day .
Speaker 2He did it because they played on Thursday night last week , yep , and but just the offers I did get for him . Not that you know I could expect it , but the offers that I did get kind of hurts and wish I would have .
Speaker 1Yeah , taking , you know , at least one of those woulda , coulda , shoulda the whole , you'd trinity of regret , right ? That's exactly it , yeah .
Speaker 2Yeah , but I , you know listen , eight and three tied for the tops , you know , top record in the league . Just looking to make a strong playoff push at this point .
Speaker 1So yep , you still got depth . You know you won't find any , so alright , zach . So next up in this guest discussion , let's talk about a Fun topic I like , which is called league evolution , right ? So With this league evolution discussion brought you by a good game pod on Instagram , I Want to get your take and discuss amongst ourselves about what we could do to possibly elevate this league , and I think the topic or discussion this week is the trade deadline , right ?
Speaker 1So I bring this up because we have had , more than any other year in league history , just a flurry of transactions that has happened , like what you mentioned earlier , more than probably the last few years combined . It's added an extra element to our game , I believe you know , seeing that the sixth spot is now based on , like points . There's another element to the trading where you're trying to capitalize at least I am on on points , right , like who has the biggest upside , so I can catch up on points , being that we've changed , kind of like the standings and how you get in the playoffs . 60 60 is based on on that being that you don't want to fall in the final four , because that means that you have a chance to be playing for the loser championship , which you do not want , that that will follow you forever . We have a fancy award . We have a loser's belt that you got a parade around during like draft week , so you don't want that .
Trade Deadline Extension and League Evolution
Speaker 1Should there be any changes to the trade deadline ? Should we extend it ?
Speaker 2Yeah , I think it's a great topic to talk about because and I know , every league has different trade deadline dates and certain times of the year , but I think with a league like ours , there's definitely , you know , a conversation to be had . Do we need a trade deadline ? Do we push it back ? You know , another week , as we know the season is now , you know , 18 weeks instead of 17, . You know , do we add another week on there ? Now , you know that we're closer to , we get the week closer to playoffs . Do we , you know , maybe cut off at the end of regular season ? I think those are different options that With a league like ours , like you said , and everybody is it has a chance until the very last week of the season . If you're in last place , in 12th place , you know , sitting six games back of that that playoff spot , you still have a chance , you know yeah if you're in there with points .
Speaker 2So I think you know , maybe you know still having one , but just changing over what time it falls during that that regular season , whether it's a week later with the season being pushed back week , whether it's into the regular season . So I think there's a couple different options that Could be talked about . You know , throughout the league .
Speaker 1So I , I would have to agree , I think . I think it's one of those things where it's like there's the aspect of general managing your team right and you don't want to be outmaneuvered by somebody else , right , right , and so you know , obviously , coming from a person myself , I have made more moves than probably the league has made in the last few years myself this year Because I was playing on a week-to-week basis . I need to win . I need to make those , those moves . I've even shipped some players back for different players , right .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1They served a purpose , but now I got to worry about my matchup , like this week . So I do like the idea of messing with that trade deadline because , as we'll get into the career statistics later on , it's important to everybody in this league to not finish last , to get as many wins as you can , to bump your winning percentage up . Nobody wants to lose , and so if you're coming down to , you know there could there could be an argument made when you know , if you're coming down to the last week and you know you're in the bottom four , you know you're going into the losers bracket playoffs , you don't want to get last . You would want to make a move to help not do that right , and so so I think it is something that I think when we , you know , during our league calendar off season , when we go into the voting process and the suggestions and the surveys and all that stuff , I think it's something to be brought up about extending that trade deadline .
Speaker 2Yeah , no , I absolutely agree . I think Not . You know , like we've talked about , there's multiple points on why it should be moved . You know there's Still moves to be made after the line there's . I was looking at my team , you know , today and there's definitely some moves that would you know that could be made . Still obviously too late now , but but I still think there's time in the year that you know we could still make moves there's . You know , with the , with the six points going to six placement of points , with nobody wanting to finish the last , like there's just so many things , nobody's gonna make a trade that's gonna hurt their team .
Speaker 2No , no Illusion , there's no none of that that's gonna be going on , nobody will take , because there's no benefit to tank .
Speaker 1They just don't want to lose , correct ? And I think you know we talked about on a previous podcast , about about including fab and trades , which this is one of those instances where you're getting to a time and a place where you're running out of fab dollars . You know , if you have a running back , like , let's say , you've got Travis , is it Walker ?
Speaker 1is it no , kenneth Walker is the third , and you know that he might be out and Sharpen a is on , you know is on waivers , but you're clear out if you're deep at another position to be able to Trade off that player for fab dollars to get that backup for that week that that you need , it would make it really interesting .
Speaker 2Right ? No , I agree , it's you can . I mean , and it's always strategy anyways when you're putting in your fab bids on , you know , on Tuesday , as it is Yep , looking at other teams , how much do you know I got to outspend him To get , you know , to get the player , or you know , so you know being able to make a trade where you get those two extra fab dollars , where now you're ahead of the other guy that you know you need to beat out , just as a whole new wrinkle like you're talking about .

And just to clarify before we run down the entire list dude , this is not only Sunday soldiers , but this is all of fantasy football leagues . I believe that yahoo has has accumulated , you know , with our production team helping out . Obviously that is accurate .
Speaker 1Yeah , so so all members of Sunday soldier if they have participated in other leagues that have been run through yahoo , this does calculate their overall winning percentage , so they can't hide behind good records just here in this league , right , it would be reflective of all other leagues that they've competed against . So , that being said , old man flash has if he's played in other leagues . He sucked in those two .
Speaker 2Yeah , the 38 percent and you know obviously one in ten this year , which I think he's , you know , fairly new to the yahoo platform with with Sunday soldiers is when he started .

Rich is obviously invested in some fantasy football training material and it's done him well . You should do the same . He's trending up . He is trending up and Rich Bone is a one time gold ranking because in Yahoo you've got bronze silver , gold , platinum and diamond .
Speaker 2And diamond . Wow , it's got to be a perfect season , I believe . Wow I think we may have one down .

Speaker 1He's kind of an enigma because you've had some times where you're scratching your head , but he's had some consistent years of winning , Like he's won . He's been in the championship , I think , a couple of times . You got to hand it to him . You know he and he does love him some , Justin Tucker .
Speaker 2I mean , that's the reason we haven't got rid of the kickers yet , exactly .
Speaker 1Yeah , coming in at number nine , we've got our very own in Jaws and Fences at 48.3% and a four time gold .
Speaker 2You know , I'm actually really surprised that he was at nine and not seven . It just seems like where he finishes . Every year seven plays he does ?
Speaker 1He absolutely does Jaws and Fences sitting there at number nine , number eight . You've got your very own Netflix and chill 49.7 . One time platinum . That's right . If we look at the history , there is a little known fun fact about me . So I do love fantasy football . I am not always great at it , but I enjoy it .
Speaker 1I had my first few years in this league was terrible , and then I went I think it was my third year , 2012 , went to the championship game , had the closest finish like ever . It was like a tenth of a point , whatever it was and then just proceeded to suck every year after that for one , two , three , four years . And it's well known that after that , because I jumped up from it was 2017 , 18 , 19 and 20 , I was a gold or better . And there's a fun fact where , basically , I was just tired of losing and I went and bought these giant post-it notes , put them all over my bedroom wall , which my wife just loved and just was writing down equations and facts and and and you know where I ranked all of these players and I had it everywhere and it was just this fold and from that point on , I had about four or five years of just success , won a championship , finished third . All of that . And now you know I've kind of been in the abyss the last few years so I got to dig myself up . So it might be time to bust them out again . To bust it out , get out of the Excel file , get into the giant post-it notes , go
Fantasy Football Rankings and Standings

Speaker 1But yeah , I'm sitting there , number eight at 49.7% , almost winning 50% of the time . Yeah , come in at number seven JMFR at 50.8% and a one-time gold member . Jmfr reminds me a lot of Larry . They always finished kind of roughly like right there in middle of the pack .
Speaker 2Yeah , and they're never , you know , in the last place game . You know JMFR , it was in the championship game last year . He was . And so could have a field kickoff , but declined it . Yeah , decline that . But yeah , just like you said , kind of in the middle of the pack and so that 50.8 , you know seems about right it does ?
Speaker 1This one surprises me . So , coming in at number six , we've got Dizzle , which is pretty good . It's pretty good at fantasy football . He's a nine-time gold member , right , but he's sitting there at number six at 52% . Yeah , I kind of would have thought it would have been better than that .
Speaker 2Yeah , he's had some success lately . I know and I know you guys have had some back-and-forth banter , you and Dizzle , especially this season of you know him finishing last last year and so you know that's having that might have brought him down a little bit .
Speaker 1I mean , it might have . It might have Coming at number five . We've got our very own Chiefs Kingdom at 52% as well . So you guys are neck and neck but , you're a two-time platinum winner .
Speaker 2I think that's the difference Two-time platinum versus nine-time gold .

Speaker 1Coming to number four , I mean no disrespect , but I'm kind of surprised by this , just maybe because it's because of how he all the stories we've heard where he's been asleep and he's like , yep , I'm in on that player . Well , who are you in on it ? I don't care , I'm just in on him , right ? I love that because Tenderedit is so cavalier with how he drafts , right , he just doesn't care . He plays to win , not , and he's just , he doesn't care , he just does whatever he wants to he's supposed to do in that moment .
Speaker 2He does it and it works well for him . He's trying to disrupt . You know future , you know former champs that they're draft . And yeah , and he feeds off that .
Speaker 1I wish I had that type of attitude . It probably would serve me better . But he's sitting there at number four at 52.8% and a two-time gold member and a Sunday Soldier champion .

That is true . Mosvet has always been solid . That guy probably does his homework more than anybody in this league .
Speaker 2Yeah , you know , if you reach out to Mosvet a month before draft weekend , that he has locked in . He has locked in 9,030 mock drafts at that point .

Speaker 2It's unreal the amount of work that he puts in and it pays off Obviously . I think that number three I know he's had some bad luck this year , but bad luck .
Speaker 1for sure it's been bad luck because that guy is always prepared , always prepared , and at 54 , I mean he's number three in the league , coming in at number two with a winning percentage of 57.1% . Three-time platinum member , loson found .
Speaker 2Yeah , some , I mean another two-time champ , a Sunday Soldier champ . So that's , it just shows , right there you win this league . You're more than likely , if you're playing , another Yahoo league is going to be up there in those as well . So you know , having him at number two definitely makes a lot of sense .
Speaker 1So I think . Let's look so since 2015 , loson found has been platinum . So , out of 123456789 . Five of nine years he's been platinum . Yeah , it's a great run , right , a great run . Yeah , I mean , he's been one of the best according to Yahoo , coming in at number one . This is a guy that I think I mentioned on the last podcast .

Speaker 2That year will never not be talked about . I mean , it's crazy how good of a team he had that year .

Speaker 2I just got lucky , that I mean unfortunately for him . He ran into a team that was just destined , I guess .
Speaker 1He's like , like I said , he's like the Vikings of 98 , 99 , or like the Bills of the early 2000s that year , just that . In fact . I think NFL Films did a series for a while , like it was called like the teams without rings , like the teams . It was a special on they- .

So I mean the standings will go through those real quick . We got Rich Bone at 8 and 3 , 44 Magnum at 8 and 3 , and myself at 8 and 3 . So three teams sitting up there at 8 and 3 , kind of vying for those top two spots , which we know is big for the buy First week buy . And I know Rich Bone has got a pretty strong hold on the points at the top , so getting to the top for him was you know that record was big Absolutely
Football Trades and Playoff Outlook
Speaker 2Falling behind . We got Tendered it and Jaws and Fences both sitting at 7 and 4 . We've got Bazinga at 6 and 5 . We've got Dizzle and JMFR at 5 and 6 . Netflix and Chill and Los and Foundables at 4 and 7 . Mosvet 3 and 8 , and Old man Flash at the 1 and 10 .
Speaker 1There has been , I mean I would say us , sitting there at 4 and 7 all the way up to the 7 and 4s . I mean there's three weeks left in the season . It's gonna take a miracle for 4 and 7s to have a shot . Obviously , we do have the 6 and final playoff spot is based on points . So , anything could happen depending on what happens in the next few weeks . Although I mean I will say , zach , I'm happy at 4 and 7 , after being , I think it was 0 and 5 .
Speaker 2Yeah , it started at 0 and 5 . So sitting there at 4 and 7 is definitely a good turnaround .
Speaker 1It is , it is , I will take a . I will gladly take a 7th or 8th finish because that gets me out of the loser's bracket to compete for that trophy , as I have the last two years and have dodged it every single time . But I mean , look at the top , that first round buy for the top two teams . I think between Ridgebone 44 , magnum and you it's gonna be . It's a big three weeks . There's a lot can happen .
Speaker 2Yeah , it's gonna be a tough three weeks . I know those two kind of have got me on points . Like I said , ridgebone 007 has got pretty strong hold on the points up there . So another couple one to two wins for him probably guarantees a top two spot for him , which we as we know is huge . Getting that first round buy , it's big .
Speaker 1So and I've got . I've got Bazinga this week , which is what I called the old school rivalry week , because me and Bazinga used to be some big time rivals back in the day back in high school . So yeah , I mean , hey look , we've got three weeks left to the regular season . A lot can happen , especially with that sixth and final playoff spot , because it is based on points . But another thing that has happened over the last few weeks is we have had a just flurry of trade action .
Speaker 2Oh , and I know we've touched on it , but more than we've ever seen before .
Speaker 1It was . It was so one of the trades that happened was I shipped , tendered it . I shipped him Mike Evans and Alexander Madison for Joe Mixon right .
Speaker 2Yeah , I mean with you being involved in the trade . Obviously that's when I saw Mixon got traded . I was wondering why I didn't get in on that , cause I had liked Mixon , I was . I had him as a kind of a trade target . So you know , and as we know , you had some wide receiver depth .
Speaker 1I did .
Speaker 2It was a great move , I thought , on your end , especially now . I mean they've got to kind of look towards Mixon with going down .
Speaker 1Yep , yep , and I mean I would say their backup remind me of Jake Browning . He surprisingly did not look like your typical , like backup that you've never heard of , right ? Like he can move the ball . But yes , I do agree that I think Mixon will be a little bit more involved with with no burrow . I did have depth at the wide receiver position and was thin at running back because of the running backs that I had chosen and not done well , but I didn't stop there .
Speaker 2No , you did not stop there .
Speaker 1I ended up flipping Isaiah Pacheco back to Jaws and Fences . Correct , because we had an earlier . In the earlier episode I had shipped Mahomes , terry McClaren , michael Thomas for Justin Fields and Isaiah Pacheco because I desperately needed a running back . And part of that trade that happened is we know that Mahomes is consistent but Fields had a larger upside for points , which being not having a lot of wins , I needed as much points as I could get , so ended up going back to Jaws and Fences and saying , hey , you give me Tank Dell , I'll take Pacheco , which in my mind , I was going to flip Tank Dell .
Speaker 2Yeah , and I actually had an offer which I know we'll get to once we have Jaws and Fences on as a guest , but for Tank Dell and Andrews Right . And we'll get into that when he's here , that's right , that's right , and I didn't stop there . No , you did not .
Speaker 1Which . Look , hey , I've won four of my last five right . So , and it's been with making moves on a week to week basis , you know I gotta win . As you may or may not be aware , I'm all over the waiver wire .
Speaker 2Right .
Speaker 1I think I hold the record for a quickest pickup .
Speaker 2By far the quickest . I think you actually have the most moves this year too as well . Oh yeah , Looking here with our production team , what they've got is 60 moves so far this year . The next closest is 32 , it looks like .
Speaker 1And you do that why ? Because look , when you're 0 and 5 , you don't want to get last , you gotta make moves . You gotta make moves and that's what this league is all about . You don't sit there and just be like my season's over , I'm gonna like phone it in , I'm like done . No , you don't want to get last because you don't want the award , you don't want to hear about it , you don't want to be called out as like your last in the league and winning percentages Like it means something , right ?
Speaker 2I was kind of in the same spot as you were this year . I was in that same spot last year . I started off one in seven and I traded away Justin . Jefferson had a great year last year . Obviously I traded away Jefferson Not easy to do right ? No , I had won six in a row . After trading him , finished seven and seven got it into that seventh spot . Didn't have to , like you said , like you talked about , don't have to worry about that last place game . Then it feels so good .
Speaker 1So good , I had picked up Jake Ferguson Titan from the Cowboys as a free agent . Jmfr needed a Titan so I flipped Ferguson for Marquis Hollywood Brown , namely because we got Murray back and hopefully I'm assuming that's gonna turn into something . It hasn't the last two weeks .
Speaker 2No , and I think he will get it going . I know he's got a favorable playoff schedule . Fantasy playoff schedule . That is because they're not going to the playoffs . But yeah , I think there's another great trade for you .
Speaker 1Now sticking with my trades and then we'll go into the other ones . I'm still not done .

Speaker 1I ended up flipping Tank Dell and Ramandre Stevenson , which Stevenson was out last week because of a buy . I flipped Tank Dell and Stevenson for Michael Pittman , which is , I think , the most consistent wide receiver in fantasy football , like 15 to 16 points each and every week . I wanted that consistency , someone that I could like plug in . I could be kicking myself because Tank Dell has just had back to back weeks of 27 points or more . I'm hoping that that's the plateau and it goes down from there .
Speaker 2Right , yeah , but , like you said , pittman and I even had reached out about Pittman earlier in that day because , like you said , he's just so consistent , he is and you know you kind of know what you're getting with him week in and week out- Yup , and the action didn't start there .
Speaker 1Now that ends it for me . So the last three weeks I did one , two , three , four , four trades Like yeah , that's a lot . So we had , you had a great trade . You were reaching out to me saying , hey , if I could package Monty and Godwin , what could that get me from ? Like your team , we couldn't make something happen . So you flipped it to old man flash and you got I got DJ , more out of it which gets fills back was kind of my thought .
Speaker 2He needed the depth . I know he's got Gibbs but backfill that you can play both in . But you know , and I think it plays out well for both . But I think it's .
Speaker 1You know , it's interesting because I think this this season right . I think the dolphins for a while , when they weren't injured and the Lions are probably the two teams that you could literally run Two backs from the same team and you'd be okay right . Cuz 44 Magnet did that for a couple weeks and that was like huge . And then just this last week , Monty and Gibbs again .
Speaker 2I think they were both 17 and 19 points like that's exactly which one I running back .
Speaker 1That's exactly what , what you wanted to that . And then the final trade was Bazinga sent Shahid , the wide receiver , from the Saints the Saints and he shipped him to , tendered it , and he got no Joku tied in from Cleveland because he's thin at that . So I mean we had Is that a total of six trades ?
Speaker 2six trades in the last three weeks Yep , that's a lot . Yeah , no , it's a lot going on , and a lot of it too . It comes back to , you know , people getting hurt , the injuries that we have throughout the league . You know making got to make moves , you know where they're at .
Speaker 1So you do , you do , and I love it . I think it's fun , I think it adds to so much excitement in in our league we're all fighting . I mean , here's the thing like , do I have a chance at the playoffs ? Like it's like less than like five percent , sure , but I'm not fighting in the next like at the playoffs , I'm fighting to get to that seventh to eighth spot , so I don't have to face the loser bracket right , hey right where most of the time , like teams will phone it in and they're just like done , I'm not doing anything more , I've lost , it's over .
Speaker 1That's not what we do here . We take pride in what we do . Yeah , now let's talk about that six and final playoff spot . As we've mentioned several times , that spot is Based on total overall points . Right , so you could finish sixth Based on your record , but that doesn't get you in on that six and final playoff spot . It is based on points . So for you we have the bottom seven point total .
Fantasy Football Points and Playoff Positioning
Speaker 1So sitting there comfortably at number one is Bezinga . He's got fourteen hundred and twenty four points , which , to give you context to that , the next person behind him is diesel . He's seventy eight point five , four points behind . So if Bezinga and diesel finish with the same record , the only way that diesel can get in is if he could overcome that difference of seventy eight point five four points . Can I eat those points ? Yep , so points are huge each and every week because that's what gets gets you in . Currently , bezinga leads that . I'm at third . I'm a hundred and twenty eight points behind Bezinga . Coming in fourth , his old man flash . He's almost a hundred and seventy points behind , same as Los and found one seventy four JMFR and Mosvet JMFR is two hundred twelve points behind , which is with three weeks . It's probably you're not going to overcome that . Yeah , mosvet is Production team . Am I reading this right ? Does this say Mosvet is 376 points ?
Speaker 2point five , eight . At this point , mosvet is just hoping to to get a win in weeks , you know , 15 , 16 or 17 .
Speaker 1Yeah , that's , that's , uh , that's rough , but that's fantasy football . When , when , when you have somebody like Mosvet , who is number three in winning percentage at fifty four percent , two times platinum , and he's sitting there , you know battling for , you know to not be in last place battling for those points , he's 376 points behind . It's just one of those years , it just happens , it happens .

Speaker 1Like there's nothing that you can do , do for that . So that is our recap to the last three weeks . Again , zach , lots of trade action . Right , we still got three , three weeks left . A Lot of teams are kind of solidifying themselves that they're they're in the playoffs now . They're jockeying for a position and for those by weeks , those last few teams are kind of jockeying for a position just to get in . I think it's gonna come down to points like it's gonna come really close . It's really important that the Zynga finish is strong points wise . If the Zynga finishes , I would say 115 or better over the next three weeks .
Speaker 2I think he's in no matter lock .
Speaker 1Yeah , he's he's almost a lot . He would have to finish under a hundred points every week . Right , and the people behind him did Dizzle , and myself really , you know , score a lot . He's . He's comfortable . He's just got to not screw it up , correct .
Speaker 2Yeah , it's gonna be tough to not make it at this point . It is , and so with that , with that lead , he's grown . You know , on that set , that six seed , I should say is has been a pretty good spot for him .

So this is where we kind of recap something that we've highlighted in this episode that we feel will , hope , that we feel might make your league legendary as well . So it's our advice to you on if you're gonna start a league or if you're in a league and you want to make any changes . So what we want to highlight is we do want to talk about these Yahoo career statistics . Right , I think that you know why that's important to our league , why that should be important to your league . And , zach , correct me if I'm wrong , but we fight to the

Speaker 2Yeah , I mean we all take pride in having that you know the best record we can have every year , whether it's , you know , trying to finish in that six and seven and eight spot just to stay out of the bottom bracket , or just knowing the next Year you're not having to talk about your you know two and twelve season or whatever . It is Just having that pride Week in and week out of every single game .
Speaker 1I could not agree more . I think it's really important that you have that , that that you're in a league , or you've created a league , that prides itself on Finishing every game , as if every game counts because it does right . Like you want that career winning Percentage to be as high as possible . I think we all pride ourselves on that overall record . I think it actually means something , especially when it comes to smack talk , right , yeah , I can't tell you how many times your history and how you finished , or your percentage , or that your bronze and Seven of us are gold or platinum .
Speaker 1You just get smack talk brought upon in and out . It just makes for , it just Builds that camaraderie camaraderie within your league and we think it's really , really important . Plus , we think it's really important to emphasize that . You know , nobody wants to finish last right in our league . Nobody wants a last place award . Nobody wants to take that on the airplane . Nobody wants to wear the loser's belt during draft week down in , like Nashville and the bars , the pink belt Nobody wants to deal with , like any that . No one wants to deal with a smack talk that comes along with it .
Speaker 1You know , especially when you've got it multiple times right , absolutely , absolutely .
Speaker 1And so it means to us . You know I played in a league one time when you know my it was another Yahoo League , so it obviously affects my career standings where they were like well , if you're not in the playoffs you can't , and I and you know , if you're the losers bracket , you're not allowed to pick up any free agents until the people that are vying for a championship Pick them up first . Then you can have all of like the crumbs . Yeah , and I'm like why ? They're like well , cuz our season like matters and we're vying for a championship , I'm like I still want to get wins . I don't want to finish last , I want to finish like like at least seventh right , and they're like well , I don't care , you can't do that , you just can't and that's just not the league we run right , it's not .
Speaker 2It's like we've talked about every game matters . We want to , you know , for us , talking about the you know , overall finishes today , it's , it's , it does mean something to our league and it should mean every for every league , I mean especially when you've got a same group of guys that stick around . It means something you're in and you're out .
Speaker 1So so if that means that you set something up in your league that you get , you know , a last-place award , you know anything that Highlights the reason why you shouldn't , that puts an emphasis on why you need to finish strong , because the last thing you want is for the last you know third of your league to phone it in the last few weeks of the season , the last few weeks of the playoffs , because what you don't want Is you don't want the last four teams because they're out of the playoffs , you don't want them not trying in the last two weeks . If you're battling for the fourth spot or the third spot and you're trying to get the first round by , you want to make sure that at the number one team is facing the number 12 team , absolutely they're gonna see the same matchup . They were if number one was facing number two , and so that's what we've done . We've created last place awards and it's changed throughout the years . You know where the last place covers , like the first place entry , like whatever it is to show the importance on why you finish strong Each and every year , and I think that just adds to the legend that is this , this league , because we try so much , and so that's our advice to you .
Speaker 1Do the same thing . Create last place awards . Do something that incentivizes those last place teams to finish every game as if it was the first game or the the the last place game of the season . Make it just as important . Whatever you need to do , and your league will be legendary as well . Well , chiefs kingdom , a lot went on these past three weeks , right , we've got . What is it ? We got three weeks left in the regular season , right ? Yep , playoff . The playoff pushes on those . Those final spots are starting to get locked up and the battle for those final spots are gonna be up for grabs . It's gonna be interesting to see how these next few weeks kind of shake up right , and let's not forget how important it is Not to get sucked into the bottom four .
