The Abundant Practitioner Podcast By Dr Tilean
Ep. 73: Attract Aligned Clients Without Being Online All Day
Are you showing up online… but silently second-guessing every post?
Do you feel like you’re doing all the right things… yet still not being seen?
In this soul-anchored and truth-telling episode of The Abundant Practitioner Podcast, Dr. Tilean exposes a conversation many purpose-led visionaries are afraid to voice out loud: “Am I doing this right? Or am I just chasing noise?”
You’ll be guided through a powerful and activating conversation that explores:
- Why visibility doesn’t require being online all day
- How chasing every trend keeps you further from your mission
- The energetic cost of trying to “get it right”
- What really creates consistent client flow (it’s not what you think)
- How to build a marketing rhythm that honours your nervous system, not overrides it
Using the analogy of over-functioning visibility and algorithm anxiety, Dr. Tilean unpacks how trying to “do it all right” online is often the very thing blocking your next level. This isn’t about hustling harder.
It’s about hearing clearly, speaking soulfully, and letting yourself be the messenger you were born to be.
This is the episode to revisit when you feel torn between being strategic… and staying sane.

Welcome to our podcast designed for psychologists, therapists and counsellors who want to take their business online and live a soul nourished and profitable life without compromise. If you want to know the secrets used by practitioners just like you to navigate the global e-learning market successfully, then you're in the right place. I'm Dr Talene, chartered Psychologist, business Mentor and your host, and welcome to the Abundant Practitioner Podcast.
Speaker 2:He's gone before me. You know it all. He's seen it all. He knows it all. He's gone before me. He knows it all, he's seen it all. He knows the Lord. He's gone before me.
Speaker 1:Hello, hello, good morning, good afternoon. Wherever you are, welcome to the business roundtable. So, another roundtable in all right, I wanted to do this one today on from invisible to in demand, and this is really about, like, how do you attract your clients without being online all day? I know. Attract your clients without being online all day, I know. I thought of this topic because I know that many of the people that come across me you're either a practitioner, coach, consultant, or you're running a business or you desire to run a business.
Speaker 1:Right, you're in that setup or scale phase and in the time and season that we are in life right now, in business, there's a whole concept of being online. Regardless of what type of business you're in, there's like an online element to it. Right, you could have a business that is brick and mortar. You could have a product based business. You could have a service based business. You could have a service based business. But there is a common notion that if you are going to have your business any business you're going to need an online element, and with that online element comes this whole thing of this whole social media. Right, we've got various different platforms, whether it's Instagram, facebook, tiktok, linkedin, snapchat, whatsapp, like. There's so many different ways to be online right, and those are just a few of many, and more and more keep coming up all the time, and this can.
Speaker 1:What I find is that people are not sure how to navigate that right. It can become also overbearing right. It can become like how do I navigate it correctly? Also, the rules and the rhythms on these different platforms can change as well, so that also can lead into a part of like what do I do? Who am I? How do I navigate this in the best possible way? Or how do I even operate my business without now having to be online all day, right?
Speaker 1:So I wanted to bring this conversation to the table. If you are new to me, I'm Dr Talene. I'm a charter psychologist. I'm also a business mentor and help people scale and grow in soul aligned and profitable ways. So I wanted to bring this conversation forward. But before I start and dive into this, it would be great to hear those of you that are here live your perspectives on this topic, like what are your thoughts, your fears, your questions, your loves about being online right? Like, tell me all and it will be a great kind of introduction to start start. So welcome. I see Anna in the room, charlene, heidi, marigold, naomi, welcome, welcome, welcome. Okay, so just come off mute if you can talk and I know sometimes people are just listening in, so I won't pick on you but if you can, I'd love you to come off mute and just share with me what you are, what your thoughts are around this particular area. Don't be shy, naomi. Hey, good to see you, can you?
Speaker 3:talk. Hi Italy, yeah, i've've got a napping small person here, so, um, yeah, this um topic I think will be really useful. Um, it's that confidence, I suppose, to be vulnerable and be seen.
Speaker 1:So yes, yeah, what's the what's the fears that come up around that for you? Or what as the actions that come up? Does it lead to inconsistency like what, what, what happens for you specifically?
Speaker 3:um, inconsistency, yeah, sometimes not showing up at all, sometimes I do, and then I kind of go into a it's not a shame spiral, but it's some kind of spiral, yeah, something, and then I don't. Yeah, I don't know what it is, but it's that definitely. Yeah, showing up and then feeling vulnerable and then holding back and then getting the confidence to try again and kind of, yeah, so consistency from that angle.
Speaker 1:Oh, thank you so much for sharing. I really, really appreciate it and I'm sure there's others in the room that can resonate with that. You know, I um most many of you know, or maybe you don't know, but I run the business academy. It's a 12-month program and yesterday, so our Wednesday room is all about identity, mindset, all of those pieces, and so you know it's um not uncommon for this conversation to come up right Of like, how do I get into that rhythm of showing up because of what does it mean to be vulnerable? Can I be vulnerable? Should I be vulnerable? Like? What is the rules of this? Like? Where's the line? You know? What is the rules of this Like? Where's the line? You know? And and the confidence even though people may be confident in in many areas, in terms of like you, in what you help people with, there's a level of confidence there of like, yes, I know I can help people in this way, I know I can support people in this way, but when it comes to actually the marketing, that visibility, it's a different thing thing, it's a different ask of you, and so it's not uncommon, naomi, what you're talking about in terms of that feeling vulnerable I'm feeling like, and that then leading into inconsistencies as well. Yeah, I'd love to hear from others as well. Thank you so much, naomi. I really appreciate that.
Speaker 1:Who else would like to share where they've been for this part of like? What does it mean for you when it comes to being online, having an online element of your business? Um, how are you navigating that? Do you love it? Don't you like what? What are your thoughts? Let me know if you can talk. Please do come off mute. I see more people join the room as well. There's no right or wrong guys. I just want to hear your perspectives. It helps me and it helps you. It's your opportunity. Selene, can you talk? Am I saying your name right as well? Let me know, you might be distracted I'm sorry, I had to pull over.
Speaker 4:There was an ambulance behind me so I had to.
Speaker 1:Oh no, worries, that's what I thought. I thought you might be distracted. Can you talk now?
Speaker 4:I can. Um, yeah, I find that being able to do a business, regardless of what online is. You know, I've been doing it for a little while, but, like you say, inconsistently but it allows me to reach more people and it allows me the opportunity to have more than one type of a group. It allows me to reach more people and it allows me the opportunity to have more than one type of a group. It allows me greater flexibility, it allows me the opportunity to make it really, really my own, depending on what the group is, and it allows people the freedom to feel, depending on the group, that I have even anonymity, because sometimes I speak to people that are in high places but they don't want to to be seen, so it allows them to have anonymity and the freedom to express themselves without feeling judged. So I love what it can bring and I would love to be a little bit more consistent with it, for sure okay, awesome, awesome.
Speaker 1:And do you do any of your marketing as well, online as well? So your work, work.
Speaker 4:I would love to. I haven't stretched that far, but for the most part it's just been word of mouth and different people who plug me into their systems and I'd love to have my own so I can collaborate with their systems.
Speaker 1:But I have been piggybacking off of other people's systems and they have been marketing me via my way of doing um podcasts and things like that. Yeah, okay, okay, awesome, what if, uh, what, um? If you know um and would be open to sharing, what do you think stood in your way of you um being more present online yourself? Visibility, like your own online marketing piece.
Speaker 4:I think it takes a lot of time for me to figure that out. And when you're in the throes of things and you got momentum already built up, it's hard to kind of pivot and say you know, I need to take care of this piece.
Speaker 4:And it's hard to trust people. I've done several things, but it hasn't necessarily been successful with other people, because they give you a piece and they keep piecemealing you to the point to where you know you're financially you can't do both. You can't pour your, you know your income and your expenses out of the same thing. You know at the same time if it's not giving you any benefit.
Speaker 1:So that's been my yeah, thank you for that transparency. Selenia Love that, right, you know, and it's so true. And it's even more reason why I do what I do in terms of showing up and sharing with you guys how to execute on your missions right, how to amplify your missions, how to walk even more boldly, even more confidently in your God missions and executing your business on a bigger front than you are already, Because there's lots of noise out there, there's a lots of, lots of different perspectives saying this way is the only way, or you know, and then there's only piece of the puzzle and not the whole puzzle and all of that stuff. So, you know, that's why I'm super passionate about that and I feel inspired as well. Guys, if you haven't done my seven hour business course, like, get hold of it and and work through it, because it's got everything you need honestly right Around, understanding the elements of amplification of your business and and executing it in a bigger way. Um, however, the biggest thing that gets in people's ways is capacity, mindset, identity, all of those pieces, the psychology behind it, right, and as a psychologist by background, I'm passionate about talking about that. You know, and, charlene, thank you for putting that in the chat. Okay, I think for me, just putting something out there and seeing who I attract from there, right, yeah, and so there is that knowing right of like. Okay, I would like to show up more. I see the benefits of it, right.
Speaker 1:So what's been discussed is I see the benefits of it, but there's things getting in the way of it, right, like it's not actually happening, okay, so that's what I want to talk about today. All right, I want to really share about the, about that, right, that's what I want to talk about. So what we're going to cover is how to attract aligned clients without being online all day. I also want to expand the conversation and talk about what that means in terms of how do you attract clients within your own way, in terms of how do you attract clients within your own way? Right, your own way of working, right, what is that? How do you even know what your own way is? Yeah, how do you work out your system, your soul aligned marketing system, right, your soul aligned methodology that works with your rhythm of life, of where you are, and works with the rhythm of the, the business that you have and the mission that you have.
Speaker 1:And this is really, really important because, like I've mentioned, is that there's a variety of different platforms, a variety of different ways to show up right, and in each different platform there's so many different ways that you could be told to use that platform Right Of use it this way, this is the best way to use it, use it that way, this is the best way to use it oh, the rules have changed. Use it this way, use it that way, right. And there's so many different rhythms and ways and strategies that are being spouted out about how to be seen, be heard, when it comes to visibility. So that in itself is one area of heaviness, in the sense right of figuring it out. And then it comes down to those things of like do I have that time capacity to figure that out right, maybe I should just park it and carry on doing what I'm doing, or I go into a bit of a spiral into a learning thing oh, if only I could just get it, if only I could just master it Right. And so that becomes itself its own distraction, its own distraction around the mission, right, and the mission. When I talk about the mission, this is, like your God given purpose, like your business, the actual focus of what you are here to do right is actually help people by actually helping the people and working with them.
Speaker 1:And so, if you find that your days are then being distracted by chasing the next trend or by you know what's the trend in audio, what's the trend in, like, all of these things? It's crazy, right, like. What's the trend I need to pick up on now? What's the new platform? What's this Like? What's the new rules? You're distracted, right, you're distracted through noise and therefore not even showing up because what can happen, right. Or you're showing up but you're not really showing up because there's a level, there's a layer that is happening over it of like I don't even know if I can be confidently visible because I don't even know if I'm doing it right. Yeah, so I hope that makes sense, right, in terms of like, this whole concept of like, really understanding the rules, way, the trend, the audio, the, the is it 60 seconds, 90 seconds? You know what's my hook? Is it a visual hook, a written hook? All of these things? What's the platform? Where are my people?
Speaker 1:Right, becomes a distraction, becomes a learning piece of noise, and then what can happen is either in action, right, so nothing happens because it's like I don't even know what to do, so I won't do anything or I'll do something. But then I'm so consumed. Why is what I've done the right thing? Are people noticing it? Nothing's come of it, right? Where do I go from here? Yeah, and so that becomes its own thing, right? And or it becomes this whole concept of not necessarily what I'm posting or what I'm sharing or what I'm putting out there. But how am I interacting with the people? Right? Am I supposed to be sending direct messaging to people? Right? Should I be like online all day? Who's liking my things, who's doing my things?
Speaker 1:And it's just this ongoing piece that becomes draining. Before you know it. You're removed from your mission and you're thinking can I even do this? And what I want to remind you of is, yes, you can, right, but you've got to recenter, back to purpose. You've got to recenter back to what is this about? What are you here for? Who are you here to help? Right? How are you here to help them? Who are you here to help? Right? How are you here to help them? Yeah, in terms of your skill, right.
Speaker 1:So that whole concept of marketing and sales and all of that, right, the learning of that the intricacies of that. Am I doing it right? Do I know how to do it? Combined with some identity pieces that can come up, can I be visible? Should I be visible? What will people think of me being visible? Am I too old? Am I too young? Am I this? Am I that Right?
Speaker 1:You know, like all of these things that come up become draining, right? So what does that then do for you? That creates dysregulation within you, dysregulation within your body, dysregulation within your mind, your nervous system, all of that. And so now it's not just a head thing, it's not just a thought thing, it's not just an action thing either. Right, because what can happen is you think, like, if only I could just get myself to do the thing, if only I could just like batch some content, if only I could just like carve out the time in my diary and stick to it, if only I could just do the action better, I will produce better. But actually it's beyond that, right, it goes beyond that, and so you've got to recognize that.
Speaker 1:However, whatever your result is and the result is like what you actually tangibly can see with these eyes, like what's happening, right, are there clients right? At what level? At what frequency? How are you showing up what's happening there? Right, so the result is connected to the action. But it's not just connected to the action. So what? Where's people get stuck? Is they just stay in this part of like.
Speaker 1:If I do a better action, I'll get a better result. If, if I move the action differently, the result will be different, right, and so they fight with that. How do I? How do I do this action differently? Do I need to study more? Do I need to hack the algorithm more? Do I need to do something? Do I? What do I need to do? Do I need to hire somebody? They're in the doing, right, but we've got to go back before that and really recognize what are, like, what's going on within you right, in your mind, in your body, in your identity.
Speaker 1:Because all of that which stems from programming, which stems from modeling of what you hear, what you see, what you've come to choose to believe, right, that's got to be restructured, rewired, recreated, right, like upgraded. Yeah, you know like I saw someone just jump in the room like it's called iPhone, right, but you know like when an iPhone has an update, it updates a new program and a new system, right, and you yourself may need to update your system within you, how you think about success, how you think about marketing, how you think about success, how you think about marketing, how you think about sales, how you think about your mission, because when you become regulated within your own body, mind, soul, you will execute different, you will act different. Your relationship with time will be different. Your relationship with money will be different. Your relationship with your business will be different. Yeah, your relationship with God will be different.
Speaker 1:Right, like when you shift your priorities, your agendas, right, your focus and to recognizing and re-establishing what the most important focuses are, everything changes. And so, when there's a battle in terms of like, am I doing the right thing? You know, do I need to be online all day? Like what's the right thing to say or do? Is it right? Is my offer right? Is what I'm saying right? Right, it's about re-centering into a space where you can really understand and move from being scattered to being more strategic, where you can move from being in a place of performance, of like I've just got to get it right to actually a place of like, peace, right and knowing and certainty. Right, you know, it's about creating alignment.
Speaker 1:So that's what really, really, really, really matters, you know, because what happens, right when you do, when you show up, like, let's say, you are going to use online, right, and you're going to use a platform to show up, you don't need to be online all day, but when you are online, you want to be able to go in, do what you need to do and get out. And when I say do what you need to do, it means, like, be there from a place of just energetically serving, right? So, instead of shifting from trying to like is it right? Will this go viral? Is it right? Will this go viral? Is it? Is it written right? Is it what wanted people here?
Speaker 1:Right, it's just to take a moment and just stop and be like who am I here to help? How am I here to help them and what could be beneficial for them today? Right, how could I be the voice to this mission today? How could I show up and share something valuable today? That doesn't have to take long If you just take a moment to drop, to learn, to drop into that calm, that peaceness, and be able to hear the message and then be able to let it flow.
Speaker 1:And that's what it means to allow the flow, to allow your vessel to be able to be regulated so you can hear and speak and serve, and that's what hacks the algorithm. Like, literally, if you learn how to be a messenger, a clear messenger, and you commit to a rhythm right and you allow yourself to be in communities or do the work around yourself where you are able to take away the layers of what others or society or life or yourself have told about you that is not true to what you've been called to execute you will see so much more momentum. And of course that comes with practice. Of course that comes with um, with time, right, but it's through repetition. It's through repetition, it's through support, it's through being held, you know. So that really really matters.
Speaker 1:Okay, so those are the things, like I want to say, like it's. It's about, like, having a rhythm, a daily rhythm, to ensure that you are regulated. It's about also ensuring that you have a rhythm that you are going to honour, to be the voice to your mission, Whatever that means for your mission, for your movement, for your business. You be in rhythm of it, you honor it, you show up for it. If you really recognize that that is your job.
Speaker 1:Your God-given job is to show up for this mission. Show up for the mission, just like you would show up for a job. Right, if I was given a job, I would sign an agreement. Right, you go for a job interview, you get a job. Right, let's talk about like a J-O-B you go for a job, you get the interview, you get the job. They're going to give you a contract. This is what you're going to agree to do in your hours at this workplace. You're going to agree to do in your hours at this workplace. You're going to sign your agreement in exchange for doing the thing. You're going to get paid to do the thing and you're going to be expected to show up to do the thing. You're going to have to show up some days when you don't want to show up. You're going to do that. You're going to show up and do it and if you don't show up, you're going to. There's going to be some sort of consequences.
Speaker 1:Now, the attitude within your business, within your God given mission, like this is a job that's even more important than a job right, like what is the agreement you are making with your mission, with your business? What is the rhythm and the cycle that you are creating and the system that you are creating. How do you create a system where you get to serve from your overflow, where you get to be regulated, where you get to show up and get results? This is the thing that really, really, really matters. Yeah, this is what's going to move the needle. This is where you're going to see the results. This is when people say to me oh my gosh, dr, today, what you teach, it feels like magic. I implemented what magic occurred. It's not magic. It's like just get into agreement with your God given purpose and work on the agreement and easier said than done, yes, right, but that's ultimately what needs to happen. Ok,
