08 Franz Tschimben: How 3D Assets Are Shaping eCommerce's Future

Franz Tschimben is the co-founder and CEO of Covision Media, a high quality and high performance 3D scanning company. Their 3D scanners are used by customers such as NUREG and adidas, Inditex-Group, La Sportiva, Gore-Tex to mass produce any visual content for e-commerce product pages (3D, AR, VR, photos, videos).

On this episode we explore his entrepreneurial journey, from launching two companies to founding Covision Labs, a consortium backed by seven multinational industrial and technology companies in the Dolomites that just last week announced the spin-off of Covision Media as an independent company, with Franz at the leadership. 

We talk about the challenges and triumphs of merging the worlds of computer vision, machine learning, and entrepreneurship in a unique consortium environment, as well as Franz vision for the future of 3D scanning, AI and eCommerce.
