How the Trump Trial Affects You: Alan Dershowitz and “The Precedent Problem"
Professor Alan Dershowitz recently visited Alaska to discuss the recent Trump trial in New York. In this segment of questions, Dershowitz criticizes the trial, calling it a miscarriage of justice and an example of weaponizing the criminal justice system for partisan purposes. He describes questionable actions by the judge, including an incident with a defense witness, and explains the confusing nature of the charges against Trump. Although he identifies as a liberal Democrat, Dershowitz expresses concern about the implications of this case for all Americans, arguing that it infringes on First Amendment rights.
