Gospel John 8:1-11 CCC only teaching is on Vs 1-2 Jesus and the Temple CCC583 but also recognize he was at the Mount of Olives. Vs 3-11 they are trying to trap Jesus so they can kill him. Look at the similarities of a unjust trial without witnesses to Jesus unjust trial that will happen in about 11 days from now. Institute of catholic culture has a great reflection on the righting in the dust from numbers 5:16-28 and Exodus 32:20 as Jesus and the religious rulers see Jesus possibly preparing their judgement bowl. Can this be true, for them to drink for they also have sinned, as we ALL have. Next week is Palm Sunday these scriptures give us a foreshadowing of how we elevate ourselves above God.
