פרק 45: דני סירקין, מטהרן ועד טום הארדי: מאחורי הקלעים של הטלוויזיה הבינלאומית

דני סירקין, מהבמאים הבולטים שפועלים כיום בישראל, האיש שמאחורי "טהרן", "מדרשה", "שחקן זר", "מראית עין" ולאחרונה גם הסדרה הבינלאומית "מובלנד" של גאי ריצ'י בכיכובו של טום הארדי, מתארח בפרק ה־45 של סינמה שו״ת לשיחה עם אבי לודמיר על הדרך מירושלים אל ההפקות הגדולות בעולם.
סירקין חוזר לילדותו בירושלים, לשנים שבהן גילה את אהבת הקולנוע בסינמטק, לשירות הצבאי הארוך שלו, ולהחלטה להתחיל ללמוד קולנוע רק בגיל 25. דיברנו על סרט הביכורים שלו "מראית עין", שזיכה אותו בפרס אופיר, ועל המעבר לטלוויזיה שהפך אותו לאחד מבמאי המתח והריגול הבולטים בישראל.
בשיחה חזרנו גם אל "פאודה", וסירקין מספר כיצד היה מעורב בפיתוח הראשוני של הסדרה ואף היה אמור לביים אותה. משם עברנו ל"מדרשה", ל"תא גורדין", ולדרך שהובילה אותו אל "טהרן" – אחת הסדרות הישראליות המצליחות בעולם.
כמובן שדיברנו בהרחבה על "טהרן". על גיוס הכספים, העבודה מול Apple TV+, לימודי הפרסית שלו ושל ניב סולטן, ועל הדרך שבה הפכה סדרה ישראלית קטנה לפרויקט בינלאומי של עשרות מיליוני דולרים.
ומשם המשכנו אל "מובלנד", על העבודה לצד גאי ריצ'י וטום הארדי, על ההבדלים בין הפקה ישראלית להפקת ענק בריטית, ועל הניסיון לפרוץ כיוצר ישראלי לשוק הבינלאומי.
שיחה על קולנוע וטלוויזיה, על יצירה ישראלית בעולם גלובלי, ועל במאי אחד שהצליח להגיע מהסינמטק בירושלים אל מרכז תעשיית הטלוויזיה העולמית.
