Western C. Cain

In this episode Cornbread & Buttermilk talk about their recent trip to Bermuda, and the surprising connections to Virgina tobacco farming, in the Jamestown colony.  Cornbread meets chef Oscar in the 1609 Restaurant and they discuss chef Oscar’s preference for using heavy cream and butter in his cornbread muffins.   Cornbread found Southern food in every corner of the island.   Ending his stay while having a pulled pork Bar-B-Q sandwich with a  bowl of collard greens.  Cornbread concludes that Bermuda is a treasure trove of southern culinary experience.  Secluded in the cradle of an extinct volcano crater, and having  the Atlantic Ocean as a moat.   Bermuda stands out as an example of what old southern culinary art was in its purest form, fresh vegetables, fresh seafood, prepared with a passion for flavor.
