the OBJECTIVE JERK
I have objective views and I am a jerk. I am catholic and I am conservative, but this is not a faith based or political podcast. I am a "normal" person that likes to discuss many topics and although I view things through a catholic/conservative lens, my time in the Army has also left me with an asshole complex. I am not an expert nor am I perfect, but I am Objective and I am a Jerk, so join the Objective Jerk as my Catholic conscience battles with my veteran outlook.

I bounce from Holy Week life in the Philippines to the headlines that keep testing our patience and our principles. Along the way I connect personal choices like early retirement and leaving Facebook to bigger questions about accountability, memory, and what the culture rewards.

Holy Week Warm Up And Plans
SPEAKER_00Doing okay? Trying to look at the camera. What's up?
SPEAKER_01How y'all doing? Let's see. Um got my polo shirt on because my chair is all jacked up. Actually, I gotta move over.
unknownAlright.
SPEAKER_01I put wheels on this glider, but the wheel disintegrated. I gotta get a different one. So now I'm back to having to slide it around.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, so I'm a little dressed up. It's Holy Week.
SPEAKER_01So today, like Filipinos, they like to drive around to all the different churches and visit them and stuff like that. So gas is expensive, you know. Thanks to Trump. But yeah, we're gonna go on a little trip, so that's why I'm a little kind of dressed and just waiting for the wife before we go. And I thought I would record a podcast because I actually oh man, my stuff's all messed up. I'm just gonna have to let it this thing do its thing. I don't have it right. Anyway, I actually recorded one about the Bristol, Connecticut police ambush shooting, which I'm still gonna do. So I saw a clip of it on something, and I was like, what is this? And so I researched it a little bit, got some information, and then my plan, you know, I I recorded the whole podcast, and it was just me reading the information, but it wasn't that much information, and I ended up finding more while I was doing the podcast, and then plus my my logies were just like I was constantly oh, so I had a I was kind of editing that part out, and I was just like, you know what, this just kind of sucks. Um I should have the video, it you know, I just wanted to do a better podcast, you know, because it was just it was I'm lazy, but even you know, to my standards out to my standards, I was kind of like eh, this kind of sucks. So I deleted it, and I will do that my next one though. So I got some information, and I I got the video that's been posted for that whole night, but I condensed it, you know, I edited it down. But anyway, to talk about it. I can hear me breathing, but it's not it's not smooth. Anyway. So yeah, so just waiting on the wife, so I thought I'd I'd record something. So I have a couple notes that I've been collecting, you know, so some
Scrapped Police Ambush Episode
SPEAKER_01videos regarding some DoorDash drivers. I guess a DoorDash driver, gosh, I can hear me. A DoorDash driver. Maybe
DoorDash Politics And Getting Fired
SPEAKER_01I should turn down my thing just to smidge it, so maybe won't pick it up. But a DoorDash driver posted himself on whatever, saying if, you know, he's saying he's a DoorDash driver, and if you have a Trump sign, you will get your food thrown out the window or something, you know, something stupid, whatever. And then you end up getting fired, and then of course he's like, who blaming you know Trump supporters and and all this and asking for money and this. And it's like, bro, you you upload, I don't know, I just don't understand. I you know, the guy's young. You know, I did some stupid things when I was young, but I'm kind of I'm curious to know how many DoorDash delivery drivers are like identify as liberal and how many identify as conservative. I'm pretty sure the majority are liberal. And to me, that just kind of tells you the mindset of the average liberal that they're stupid, they're lazy, they can't get a real job. And I'm not saying that DoorDash drivers can't get real jobs. You know, a lot of times it's an extra job, a second job, you know, they're doing school, whatever, and maybe that's what he was doing. But it just kind of I don't know, I'm just kind of curious. I would like to see the stats on that. But it's just, you know, because it goes in line with just everything about liberalism, you know, and they want everything without working for it. They don't like rich people, they want communism, they should have everything that a hard person works hard for, they should have the same thing, you know, and it's just I don't know, and it's just you see it everywhere, it just goes with everything.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. I, you know, I'm I'm pretty lazy.
SPEAKER_01I'm retired though. People are like, you know, I retired at 41.
Retiring Early And Moving Abroad
SPEAKER_00So not I didn't mean to, it just kind of, you know, happened.
SPEAKER_01I you know, I've been married to my wife for 20 years, and the first time, so we got married in 2005, and the first time I visited the Philippines was 2018 or 19, I think 19. Yeah, 19. And I was like, dude, it's not ideal for me, but I was like, we could we could make it, you know, we could live there, she could do her stuff, and then her family's there, you know. She spent the last, you know, at the time, 15 years or whatever, in the States, dealing with my family and everything. And but, well, I mean, to be honest with you, I wasn't like, yeah, let's go, let's go now. But I was like, yeah, definitely we'll look at start building a home and we'll retire there whenever I retire. You know, I'm thinking maybe like another 10 years or something at least. And but then my my dad, who was retired, and he, you know, was connected to kind of like how I am with this cord right here, connected to an oxygenator. I think that's what they call it. I'm the oxygenator, because he had COPD. So he just, you know, basically sat in his room all day for the most part, watching movies. You know, he had no life. And when I was telling him about, you know, the Philippines, I was like, Yeah, we'll probably retire there and this and he's like, Well, let's go now, you know? And I'm like, yeah, he's like, no, I'm serious. And he would, you know, and we would talk about it, and pretty soon it was like, okay, I guess we could. And at that moment, I wasn't I wasn't doing too well mentally. Like my PTSD, I was not treating at all since I got out. I had very sudden anger outburst, and and some of I think what helped though was actually I stayed in law enforcement and security, and I was still working for the army, which when you work law enforcement and security, it's almost like you're still in the army. You still have to, I gotta shave, I gotta do a PT test, you know. So it kind of almost felt like I was still in the army, so I didn't get out. So, and then I remember working, I got a part-time job at Home Depot, and I couldn't, I couldn't handle it. Like some of the the bickering and the the drama between these people, and some of the like it was, you know, I was doing my job and they expected me to do other jobs. I'm like, well, let me do my job first. And then I lost it, man, and I got in this guy's face, and I was like, okay, you know what? This is not gonna work for me, so I quit. What's funny though is like the whole time I was wanting to get out of law enforcement security. But then when I finally did, it didn't work well for me. I mean, I could probably do it now, but at the time it just I remember I worked at the VA, you know, as an MSA, and I was overpaid because you know, when you're in the army or when you're in the army, when you're in federal government and you're on a pay scale, if you get hired to do, I still keep my same pay that I had, you know. So I was like, okay, cool, I'll work in a in an office and just do whatever. Holy shit, man. I think I talked about it before, but working at the VA made me feel embarrassed to be a veteran. You know what I mean? Some of those vets were just like, holy shit, man. And you know, there some of them are pieces of shit, but some of them were going through some stuff too, and and I was, you know, almost gone to a couple fights. So it wasn't working for me, you know? And it was just like, so that's going on, and then with my dad and everything, and it was like, I was like, well, what do I got to lose? I guess. And I'm glad I did it. And my dad, you know, immediately it helped him. He was much better. But that's another story. I've talked about it before. So if you want to hear more about it, let me know.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, how did I get to this point? Talking about Doornash?
SPEAKER_01Oh, because I was anyway, I'm retired, I'm lazy, so you know, but I can work hard. I do like to work hard when you know, it's just, I don't know. I think that I don't know, that's kind of where I was going. I would just went on some rant. Anyway, Harry Potter, right? New series coming out. Black Snape. Don't
Reboots And Culture War Casting
SPEAKER_01care. I think I've watched one Harry Potter movie. I haven't read any books. I think it's retarded what they're doing, but I I just I really don't care. It'll be I am kind of curious to see how that show is gonna turn out, though. If it's gonna be pop, it's probably gonna be popular though, because everybody's like, oh man, it looks so good.
SPEAKER_00And then you got the black snape with the dreads. Let's see.
SPEAKER_01And then on top of that, Steven Colbert, who's you know, one of the top TDS liberal retards, I guess he's writing a Lord of the Rings film.
SPEAKER_00Now, I guess he's a big fan, and I think he's written some other stuff before.
SPEAKER_01If he can keep his political views out of it, you know, and not make it so on the nose, it can work, maybe. We'll see. But again, I'm not a huge Lord of the Rings. I own it, I like it, but I'm not like, oh my god, it's the greatest film of all time. Excuse me. It is good, but I don't know, it's it's fantasy's not I mean I I can't say it's not my I love fantasy, I love Willow, I love uh Dungeons and Dragons stuff, and you know, some of those. But I I don't know, I'm just I don't geek out over it, I guess. I don't know. But so Christy Gnomes, right? The the crazy DHS
Political Scandals And Accountability
SPEAKER_01director, whatever, was it DHS, right? Homeland Security? Yeah, I think so. So she got fired, right? A lot of people were saying it's because she kind of mismanaged funds for spent 200 million on a commercial or some shit. It's like, what the f what? And now her husband's like a weird psycho, likes to dress up, infatuated with giant jugs, and maybe you know, he he wears his wife's skin tight with like fake huge titties, you know, and talks to other girls with gigantic titties, and and I don't know, I guess they figured it out, and and maybe that's why she was fired because they were gonna maybe you know they could hold that over him and make him whatever, or we'll release it. So they just you know got rid of her. It's probably a combination of both.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you can't you can't use 200 million like that was just retarded. I don't know. It's it's one of those things there.
SPEAKER_01I think Trump has done a better job picking and hiring his administration as compared to last time, but there are some people that, you know, are not perfect. The thing is, is though Democrats, when they have shitty people, they just they don't they keep them, you know.
SPEAKER_00We can't fire him, he's trans. And here's one thing that kind of really pissed me off.
SPEAKER_01The oh man, I meant to get her name. Say her name. Remember her name, but I I you know me, I suck at remembering names.
SPEAKER_00But I want to I want to say it for here, so I'm gonna pull it up. Still got my cold here we go. Oh man. Seeing I don't think I can even say it right. Let's see, does it have the where you can pronounce Oh what?
SPEAKER_01So they don't have the thing where like it kinda helps you pronounce it. Irin How do they say it? Anyway, the girl that was stabbed on the train.
SPEAKER_00Irina Irina
Train Stabbing And Mural Backlash
SPEAKER_00Zerutska. Does it do it there? No, it doesn't.
SPEAKER_01Irin Zerutska. I'm sure everybody has heard about this or seen the video. If you haven't, you need to look into it. This poor girl, Ukraine girl, was on a train doing nothing wrong. She well, the thing she was doing wrong was she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings. And this crazy black dude. It's the truth. He was black, so I'm not gonna be like just gets up and stabs her in the neck and she dies within seconds. You know? Let me see. I don't know if he was an illegal. I think he was not, I think he was, but the guy had a rap sheet, been arrested 14 times with all kinds of, you know. It wasn't and it wasn't just for crossing the street, you know, jaywalking. The guy had problems, schizophrenia, but liberal judges let him out, and as a result, Irina or Irina Irina Sarutska was stabbed to death, you know, and she died. It was actually one of my most popular podcasts, I think.
SPEAKER_00Where I talked about it. But so a mural was being erected, painted, right? And I think even Elon Musk was fitting the bill. And the artist was told by the mayor of the city to take it down. Let's see. I'm trying to get some other names too. So I guess so it's not North or no. Murder one.
SPEAKER_01Well, okay. I mean it's a little w okay. See, look at here's my look. She needs to be remembered, and they need to know, you know, the the problems, the issues, or whatever. But it seems like it was in Rhode Island. Hold on. A Rhode Island Democratic State Representative is facing blowback on social media after claiming that a mural and Verena Sarutska, the Ukrainian woman who was brutally murdered while riding a North Carolina train, sparked national outrage. Doesn't reflect the values of the city of Providence. So it's like it's def it's decisive divisive. We can both agree that this mural behind us does not reflect Providence's values, nor does it reflect the creativity that we would want to see in our city. The lawmakers' comments immediately spark negative reactions from conservatives on social media after they were posted by the conservative influencer account and wokeness. So it Oh no, okay, yeah. What are his values? Tesla, SpaceX, Elon Musk are reportedly involved in the mural. He cites people wanting to be safe as a reason to destroy a mural on a private building meant to honor a murdered woman. So it wasn't in North Carolina. Which is okay. It's kind of weird.
SPEAKER_00Or is he just from Rhode Island? Where is the mural at? Did I miss that? It was in North Carolina. Let's see. Improvidence. So I guess it so it's kind of weird that it's in Rhode Island.
SPEAKER_01So I can somewhat understand what the guy is saying a little bit. Like it should be in North Carolina, maybe. Or it should be, but I mean it should be, it could be they should put it up everywhere now. But the thing that's annoying and that pisses pisses me off is George Floyd, who was a criminal, he abused women, you know, and he was a drug dealer, he died of an overdose. Maybe okay at the time, they didn't know that. But man, they immediately just murals and statues and all kinds of crap. Oh, do you not think that that would be divisive? It's only divisive when you put up a white person that gets murdered by a black person, but the other way around, it's okay. So they're taking down that mural. I think that's bullshit. I can kind of understand a little bit, like I said, being in Rhode Island, but so what? It doesn't matter. I don't know. I just liberals are pieces of shit, man.
SPEAKER_00Not all.
SPEAKER_01You know, I got my my godfather,
Faith Growth And The Iran Debate
SPEAKER_01who so I got baptized almost a year ago now here in the Philippines as a Catholic, obviously.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying to point.
SPEAKER_01And so I picked him as my godfather. I wasn't gonna pick anybody, but I you have to have somebody. So, because I thought it was kind of weird, maybe in my age and everything. But but anyway, so I picked and he, you know, accepted, and so he's my godfather. But he's very liberal too, and we don't talk about politics, you know, really, but he is not happy with Trump. He doesn't, you know, he gets he falls. I don't know, he gets whatever Trump. And that's fine, man. You cannot like Trump, I get it. And the stuff going on with Iran makes sense to not you, you know, like that. I got no problem with you like not liking that, you know, being pissed off or oh, this is bad or whatever. But when Trump is like closing the border and getting illegals out with ice and all this other kind of crap, that's and they're getting mad about that, like you are retarded. Being mad about the Iran conflict going on right now, okay. I, you know, I'm not completely happy with it either, but I support it. I think in the end it will be beneficial for the Iranian people and for, you know, American. I mean, a country that has been screaming death to America and funding terrorism and hiding terrorists for decades, you know. They gotta go. You know? And politicians have been talking about it. You know, Obama talked about it. Everybody talked about it, but they never did shit. Trump finally did something, so suck a dick. Said I was Catholic. I didn't say I was a good Catholic. No, I'm pretty good. But yeah, I you know, 40 something. Well, what am I? 47. So 46 years of, you know, and then it's hard. I tried and limit, you know, some of the stuff, but it's tough. Anyway, I tried not saying the F-word, but it's man, it is tough. But speaking of which, this year, Catholic con converts, so people who get baptized to be Catholic. A lot of people do it on Easter.
SPEAKER_00And for this year, it was like three times as many. So people are coming over to the light.
SPEAKER_01And it's things like this mural with Iran. You know, I mean, it's like, how are you gonna bash a mural that celebrates the life of a woman who was Ukrainian, who liberals were like, oh, Ukraine, you know, but she got murdered. But that's that's divisive and that's bad, and it's little things like that where people are like, dude, and they're catching on. I said this on my last podcast. I'm grateful because people are catching on to the insanity that is the left right now. Hollywood, the far left, not all Democrats, not all, you know. I I love my uh my Ninong, my my godfather. We get along. Like I said, we don't talk politics. This morning, I because it's April Fool's for me here, so I was like, hey, I'm gonna sell my bike, and I think I'm gonna get a dirt bike. And he's like, wait, hold on, I'll just read it.
SPEAKER_00Let me see. It was kind of funny.
SPEAKER_01But so I was like, say, I'm looking to sell my bike and get a small, you know, CC dirt bike. And he's like, now that prices of fuel are soaring because of Trump's stupid war that no one wanted, you want to buy a dirt bike? And I was like, the Iranian people wanted it, but yeah. And he's like, Yeah, blame it on the Iranians. And I'm like, and then one of the other bike buddies is like, Good morning, and I'm like, I'm not blaming, just saying they are very happy. And then I was like, by the way, April fools, and then of course he's like laughing or whatever. But you know, it's and I got my my friend, my liberal friend
Facebook Suspension And Platform Alternatives
SPEAKER_01on Facebook, who actually speaking of that, I I dropped Facebook, so my podcast is my my the Objective Jerk podcast page on Facebook was suspended for, you know, oh, because it didn't, you know, community, whatever. And I'm like, what all I do is like I just share my my podcast episodes, maybe something I said on, but it's not uh there's not a lot of I don't get a lot of interaction on there. I've almost deleted it myself multiple times because I'm like, what am I doing? But the whole thing just kind of pissed me off because they just generally it's like, you know what, tell me exactly what it was. It was this which went against this. So somebody probably just there was one stupid liberal that caught something, didn't like it, and reported it or whatever. Who knows? I don't know. But you know, I'm not gonna so I just got rid of all my Facebook. I still have Messenger, but I mean, really, Facebook, I don't I find myself getting on there, but I don't get anything out of it. Like all I do is see like ads and what like I hardly see anything from friends yeah every once in a while, but you know, whatever. So no more Facebook. I still have Instagram. I don't know how to use Instagram though. Like, I mean I know how, but it's like I don't know. I'm just I'm good with my videos that I post and then my my thing. So anyway, does anybody else use what is their minds? There's a there's some other Facebook type platforms. I mean, obviously, you know, we got there's TikTok and there's all that kind of stuff, but is there any like low-end, I guess, less popular social media platforms that you use instead of Facebook or whatever? Let me know. All right. I think that's it. 27 minutes in, so I appreciate your time. My next one's gonna be about that shooting. It's not gonna be a documentary, but it's you know, I'm gonna put a little work into it, a little effort. But again, thanks for hanging out. Appreciate your time and happy holy week. That's not a thing, but I'll say it anyway, and God bless. All right, bye.
