You're listening to Teacher Panore email and more the only podcast that helps you take the mystery out of what to write for your TPT store, Whether you're struggling with what to write your email list or how to phrase your product description so you rake in buckets of cash. We'll be covering the exact steps each week. Let's get started. Welcome back y'all. So what is the purpose of your welcome sequence? So you might think a lot of different things about a welcome sequence, or maybe that is just another way to frustrate you, but there's actually a lot of strategy that you want to put into your welcome sequence. So, for example, do you want, by the end of your welcome sequence, what do you want? What do you want your teacher audience to do? Do you want them to buy one of your small products? You don't want to set this up for them to buy one of your big products. I can go ahead and tell you that. But do you want to set it up for them to buy one of your small products or even download a second freebie? Do you want them to kind of learn about where everything is in your online digital house? Do you want them to reply back to you? Do you want to kind of start a conversation with you. Do you want them to see you as the ultimate authority in something like problem-based learning, or as the best geometry teacher? Do you want them to join your Facebook group or one of your communities? So, whatever it is that you want them to do, go ahead and put that purpose in mind. So let's talk about all those, a couple of those different purposes and what that would look like versus some of the others, Because the way you would write one of those welcome series is a lot different than the way you would write some of the others. So if you want people to buy, you would kind of warm them up by saying, hey, don't you hate how everybody wants to teach it this way. And then your students don't listen. And then you're stuck dealing with aftermath, maybe grading a bunch of like failed papers or something like that, and then you could talk about how you teach something and then you could put in all you know this product really helps with that. So you would kind of walk them through the process of buying the small product that would help them teach a certain lesson.
Speaker 1:If you want teachers to kind of click around and get to know you and your brand. Then you would kind of show them how each thing helps them. I would say, you know your blog has lots of teaching strategies on it, like how to teach certain lessons and new creative ideas, but then on your Instagram stories every Tuesday you show a live demo for I don't know something, some sort of manipulative, that you can use in your classroom. You could show them something like that. And maybe you know, in your Facebook group you have a live every Monday where you know you answer questions on difficulty teaching topics. You would just show how each of these facets of your business is going to help them in a different email, and so that's kind of how you would encourage them to look around and see how you're going to be able to help them overall. Maybe you want them to respond. You want to start a conversation. You're really trying to build a community, so then you would, in your calls to action at the end of your emails, you're going to ask what would you do with this, or have you ever experienced this? Or how do you teach exponents? So those are the things you're going to use at the end of your welcome series emails to get them to respond back to you. That would also work pretty well if you're trying to get them to join a Facebook group the building community piece. If you are trying to be an authority, if you want them to see you as like the best math teacher in the world, you're going to want to show them where people see you as the best math teacher in the world. So maybe you have a YouTube with lots of comments on it, or maybe you have an Instagram post with lots of comments on it. You want to find something where you have the social proof to back up that you are the expert that you want them to think you are. And if you don't have that yet it just takes time you can build it up. It's a little common, but that's something to keep in mind.
Speaker 1:If that was the purpose behind what you wanted for your welcome series, so, as you're going through and you're planning, or you're maybe rewriting your welcome series now that you've learned more about it, or you've gone in and you've looked at your click rates and your open rates and maybe you liked them or you didn't like them keep these in mind. What is the purpose of your welcome series? What do you want them to do after this? So that's what I want you to do after listening to this podcast. Just kind of think about it, Decide what you would like your welcome series to get your customer or your potential customer to do. What do you want them to do? And it might take you a little bit of thinking. So just kind of think about it as you're washing dishes and that sort of thing. If you know right off the bat and you're like, oh yeah, I definitely want people to buy this one product because it's going to change their lives Well, awesome, Okay. So then you're going to work backwards and build your welcome sequence that way. If you want help with this, I've linked to a product in my store where I help you write a welcome sequence that helps people buy, that helps you build a relationship with your teachers or helps your teachers see you as an authority. So you can go look at that or purchase that if you're ready to go ahead and start writing.
Speaker 1:But the next podcast, I'm going to show you something that so many people do wrong in their welcome series. It's advice that you hear everywhere I mean everywhere and I'm going to show you why it's wrong and why it's not going to help you. And if you don't believe me and you have it set up, I want you to go into your analytics. Go into MailChimp or ConvertKit, whatever it is, and look at your drop off rate. If you look at your analytics after this email, unless a copywriter did it for you and set it up, it's going to tank after this email. So we're going to help you either learn to write a better one or just eliminate that email altogether. So that's enough teaser for now. All right, I'll see you guys next time. So are we pen pals? Yet I'd love to know that I'm not just trying to educate the closet. So sign up for my free product line sampler so I can send you a personal message and get you the freebie. Talk to you Monday.
