Episode 41: HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Able-Bodied, Empty Carts: Rethinking SNAP Abuse And Government Dependence
The sirens aren’t just sound effects—they’re a mood. With SNAP benefits on pause and threats to loot trending online, we step into a raw, unfiltered look at how a safety net can turn into a battleground. We talk through the fear, the anger, and the messy middle where working families budget every dollar while politics treats food aid like a poker chip.
We start with first-hand moments from the field: overstuffed carts, hot food on benefits, and homes packed with able-bodied adults who don’t clock in anywhere. Then we draw a hard line between those gaming the system and those who truly need it: elderly people on fixed incomes, disabled neighbors, single parents escaping abuse, and workers hit by layoffs. The point isn’t cruelty—it’s clarity. SNAP was meant to be a bridge back to work, not a landing pad for years. That means tighter work expectations, job placement, training and childcare to make work possible, plus real enforcement for fraud and resale scams.
We also wrestle with the political fight no one can ignore: who should qualify, how much we spend, and why shutdowns keep holding families hostage. You’ll hear sharp takes on eligibility for undocumented immigrants, corporate incentives that steer billions in SNAP spending, and the deeper trust problem when wages lag but prices soar. We map these tensions onto a bigger pattern—extreme inequality, corruption, middle-class fatigue, and loss of faith in institutions—warning signs we’ve seen before in France, Russia, and Cuba. If that sounds dramatic, consider the stakes when looting becomes a bargaining tactic and every vote gets framed as moral war.
This isn’t about left or right. It’s about making the safety net work as promised: fast help for real need, real paths back to work, and policies that stop incentivizing dependence. If you’ve felt the squeeze at the checkout line, if you’ve helped a neighbor through a hard stretch, or if you’re just tired of performative politics deciding who eats, this conversation is for you.
If this resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend, and leave a review with your take on how to fix SNAP without breaking trust. Your stories and solutions matter—drop them in the comments and let’s build something better together.

And I just wanna come on here and say to you people that be standing in front of the stores and the Good Samaritans and all of that. When November first comes and if they don't uplift this shutdown for these snap benefits, I'm gonna need y'all to mind y'all business.
SPEAKER_03:Need y'all to mind y'all's business. This is where we're at. Pretty crazy. We're now having people threaten to loot, steal, whatever you want to call it, rob stores because their snap benefits have been canceled. Let's get into it.
SPEAKER_01:Warning, warning, warning. This content may be sensitive to some. If you feel the need to leave, it is completely understandable. Content may contain examples of death, suicide, sexual content, and other shit we don't know what we're gonna get into. This is not to offend anyone or upset anyone on purpose. This isn't your typical deputy dane. So listen at your own risk, sit back and enjoy.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, oh, yep. That's the sirens. Like we're all gonna be detained. Sit back and enjoy the show.
SPEAKER_03:Good morning, everybody. It is Halloween 1031, 2025. It is a day before EBT Getting. It is a crazy time we're living in that we are now wondering about EBT and all this other stuff when everything else seems to be going south. In listening to these people that's saying that they're gonna rob stores, they're gonna loot stores, they're gonna do everything, and they're gonna do it with steel-tote boots on, and they're gonna helmet and they're gonna come through and you best stay out of the way. To me, that says you are an able-bodied person. Don't get me wrong, EBT, snap benefits, whatever you want to call it, food stamps, whatever you want to call it. Government assistance is needed, and I completely agree. But it's not needed for people that are able-bodied that don't want to work. Just don't want to work. That is not what it's about. But that's what we're getting.
SPEAKER_01:Why is it echoing?
SPEAKER_03:Hold on one second. Oh, there we go. Um, that's not what it's about, but that's what we're using it for. We're using it for people that are able bodied, that don't go out and work, but instead would rather sit there and live off the assistance of the government. And there's no time you should ever be reliable or relied on the government for our food. There's many books I've read about different things that the government lets us eat that other countries don't let them eat or drink or dies or this or that. And our country allows it because everything is intertwined. Everything. Everything is intertwined with the government. Politicians go in wealthy, they leave extremely rich because they're all intertwined with these companies. They're making money to keep their mouth shut. It doesn't matter about you, it matters about everyone patting their pocket. But then you have people like this. Wasn't it just a two weeks ago, people were saying down with the government, we don't want any kings, oh my god, get rid of the kings, to all of a sudden we're going back to, oh my God, I need daddy to feed me. But just the other day, we're saying down with the government. It makes no sense. How many people are relying on these EBT benefits? You know they say that the average shopping cart for someone on these benefits is three or four times the size of a person that has to budget for these benefits or for their food. So if you're out there working, being productive, and helping, your cart is three to four times smaller than the person that's not working. That's crazy. And as a first responder, I can tell you how many times I've gone into houses that just sorry, I don't know if you can hear my dog snoring, but I've got a Frenchie behind me and he's snoring. Um but to know how many houses I've been in where somebody is living off these assistances from free food, free cell phones, free everything, and not a person in that household works, but they fit like four or five people into this household and not a single one works because it works for them. They make more money not working. That is a problem. All of them are able-bodied. I can tell you they're able bodied because a lot of them go still to make extra income. So they go still to make extra income, have no problem doing that, but they live off the government for assistance. Now, with that being said, like I said, there's a people that do need it. There's people that are on true disability that I think deserve it and they need it. And that's what the problem is with our country is we have abused it and we've abused it and we've abused it to where people don't want to believe it anymore. And it's crazy. You know, you have elderly people that have worked their whole life paying into the system that can barely support to live. You have people that get injured at work, you have people that now cannot work for some reason that do need it, but we're spending an absurd amount on people that don't need it. It's crazy. And the funding for SNAP has gone up what in 2020, we're looking at about 75 billion dollars sent for SNAP benefits. And then we're looking at 2022 in the height of bringing everybody into this country illegally, we're looking at a hundred and fifty billion. Right now we're sitting at a hundred and probably twenty-something billion we're spending on SNAP benefits. That is mind-blowing to me. Mind-blowing. And then the amount of food stamps that are going to illegal citizens is mind-blowing. Not even citizens, illegal people that are here illegally are taking majority of this money and not paying taxes into it. But then you have people that are saying they're gonna go loot stores and stuff because they don't understand it. But a lot of these people watch these videos. One lady says she's got steel toe boots, a hard hat, and she's gonna go in, you better not get in her way. To me, if that doesn't scream able bodied, I don't know what does. She is threatening to kick your ass if you try to stop her from stealing. If you can kick someone ass, are you able bodied? Now think about the people she's gonna kick their ass. Those are Walmart workers. A lot of Walmart workers are actually on EBT themselves, and Walmart's got a little racket because their employees only make so much, they're on EBT, and where do people spend majority of their EBT in food stamps? Walmart. As their first responder, I can't tell you how many times that I've gone into a gas station and I have to look if I can afford an energy drink just to go, uh, yeah, I think I can budget to today and watch someone order fried chicken, pizza pockets, mozzarella sticks, anything out of the hot box and be able to use EBT cards for. That's not what it's for. Snap Benefits originally was meant to help somebody in a hard time. You get fired, you get laid off, you use benefits, and it's a jumper cable. Let's jump start you, let's get you back in the working force, and let's get you going. But how many people live stagnant in this world on these benefits because they don't want to work? And there's so many examples, and there's so many examples on the internet of people just saying that's how it is they don't want to work. It's crazy to me. I don't understand. There was a time that if a woman had all these babies by other people and she'd open her legs and anybody she's called a hussy or whatever you want to call her, we have women openly talking about how many women, like how many kids they have. We have some of them saying they had these kids just for benefits. But you also have the ones that say they can't afford it because they've had so many kids. But where does it stop? Where? I put off having kids until I was older, when I was ready. I found the right woman, we settled down, and we had kids. But these people just get to keep having kids and we have to pay for it because they're not responsible. Don't mean and again, guys, don't me wrong. There are people that accidents happen. And I'm not saying every woman that doesn't have a good man is a terrible woman at all. Because there's a lot of women that are better off without these crazy men that were abusive to them, and I agree. But the fact that so many people live off the system and just abuse the system makes you have a hard time to believe in the system. I mean, how many examples? Let's let's see if we can't play one real quick.
SPEAKER_04:I don't want to. There it is. Ha ha ha.
SPEAKER_02:Government, Kansas, Missouri, take away her food stamps right now. Did you just hear that? Take them away.
SPEAKER_03:There's a woman right there that says she doesn't want to work. He this is Caleb Hammer. If you've never watched Caleb Hammer, I've started watching him now and I freaking it it's great. It cracks me up. Funny stuff. Um some of it's just insufferable to watch some of these people abuse a system. He talks to two illegals at one point. These illegals are a crazy amount of debt. We'll get into that in a second. But this right here is a woman that is on Snap Benefits who doesn't want to work because she says her kid has like ADHD. This is where participation trophies have gotten us. This is where we're at. We're now to the point where ADHD or all this other nonsense they want to feed down our throats says that you don't have to work anymore, stay at home. All they're doing is breeding what they want. They want people that rely on the government. So again, about these illegals he talks to. These two illegals are, I can't even tell you, they were like in Phoenix, they're spending stupid amount of monies they shouldn't be spending. They have houses that people can't afford normally, and they just keep taking out loans. It's crazy. They're over like$400,000 in debt or something. I can't remember what it is, but it's a lot. And that's what's going on. It's crazy. And if you pull up charts, some of the charts I can only pull up from like 2022. If you pull up charts, illegal head of households are taking majority of welfare from everybody else. Now think about that. Illegals who aren't paying taxes, who aren't doing any of that, are the ones taking majority of SNAP benefits. Crazy. So, like any welfare, U.S. born head of households, 39% of all U.S. born households are taking some kind of welfare. Illegal is 59%. That is 59% of illegals that are here that shouldn't even be eligible for it are the ones taking majority of it. That's crazy to me. America spends about$7.8 billion monthly on SNAP, and I think it's more than that due to some of the other charts. Maybe it's down, I don't know. But if illegals were removed from SNAP, it would reduce it by 70%. Now think about that. Right now, everyone's looking at Trump saying Trump is a terrible person, he won't open up the government, and the Republicans are holding back the government. Look at this government shutdown. This government shutdown, you have to have 60 to say yes.
SPEAKER_04:No. On this vote, the yays are fifty-four and the nays are 44. Three-fifths of the Senate duly chosen and sworn not having voted in the affirmative, the motion upon reconsideration is not agreed to.
SPEAKER_03:That right there. More votes. I think this one is from October 3rd. 54 votes yes, 45 or 44 no. And guess what who the no's are? The Democrats. Now the Democrats are in from what I'm getting from everything, they're voting no because they think illegal immigrants immigrants should still get SNAP benefits. I do not agree with that. I'm sorry. I don't. That might offend people. People are going to get upset, but I do not agree with it at all. I don't. If you're illegally, you're not helping pay taxes, you're not helping, you're helping on other things, yes. And don't be wrong, there's good illegal immigrants. There are people here, but they broke the law. They're here illegally, they should not get benefits. If you're in prison, in jail, you should not get benefits. That's all there is to it. So Democrats are the ones that still are voting no, keeping it shut, but somehow everyone on this left side is saying it's Republicans, holding it back. Holding it down. How is that? Why do we keep saying the Republicans are the problem, but it's the Democrats that are voting no just because they're not getting their way? It is mind-blowing to me that this is going on right now. If you look through history, there are three failed civilizations that are going through the same, or we are going through the same steps they went through. Think about that. Three failed civilizations that have failed, pretty much going through exactly the same steps we're going through. Crazy. I plan on breaking it down more in the next podcast, but we can start with France. So again, France would be number one, 1789, the collapse of France was along the same lines of what we're dealing with now. Russia, 1917, same stuff. Along the same lines of what we're dealing with now. And then you go to Cuba back in the 50s, like 1958, 1959, something like that. Same thing. It all started off with a little bit of first of all, the elites having majority of it, and then people getting tired of the elites having it. Then it goes to a failed system, then it goes to people not having trust in the system. There's four or there's like six stages of these things. And I've been looking through a bunch of stuff and kind of go through it, and I got this one from Economy Rewind on YouTube. Number one, first step, extreme wealth inequality. We deal with that. Government corruption and incompetence. Now, what kills me is a lot of people are leaning towards that right now, but in my opinion, a lot of that happened during COVID. That's my opinion. Middle class collapse and radicalization. That's happening. By middle class, that means your people that are educated, your doctors, your everything, they're lawyers and people that are middle class that are doing well, but they're not elitist. They're starting to get tired. That's happening. You can see it. Look at the division in the government or the in the United States. It's crazy. Loss of faith in the institutions. How many people are losing faith right now? Then step five and six, they say move fast. Revolutionary movement, and it gains mass support, and then government shutdown overthrow. Now, unfortunately, for France and Russia, that ended up with executions, and in Cuba, it ended up with the fleeing the country, and Castro took it over. But if you break it down, we are in stage four. And they say when you get five and six, it's hard to turn around. But I, I mean, I'm even there. I have a loss of faith in institutions. No matter how far left or how far right, you know that there's problems out there. And it needs to be fixed. But unfortunately, we are going down a dirty, dirty, dirty path. But we'll see where it ends up, I guess. But then it takes me again to how many people are abusing the system, how many people are here illegally abusing the system. And what I hate is when a white person says this, it's deemed they're racist against everybody. I am telling you, in my day-to-day basis, I deal with more white people abusing the system than anybody. In my career, I deal with more white people abusing the system than anybody. So I'm just throwing that out there before people go, oh, he's saying it because he's white and he doesn't like other people. I deal with more white people that abuse the system because they're still doing whatever they want to do. They're selling their benefits to get money to go buy other things such as drugs. They're stealing from everybody to buy drugs, but yet they're still getting free government assistance with their phones, their rent, their help, this, that, and the other, their food. And I'm telling you, I've seen them at the grocery store spending way more on their food than what my wife and I have to budget. And it's it's upsetting. It really is. We're out here working, trying to help, trying to do everything. We both work in professions that we actually try to help people. Whether people believe that police do or don't, whatever it is, we both try to help. And we're over here living paycheck to paycheck. And a lot of that, unfortunately, in the United States, a lot of that's our own fault. We live a little bit too far outside of our means. My wife and I live in a comfortable life. We tr it it is what it is, but we have one car loan, you know, and then our mortgage, stuff like that. But in the times that we're living, I'm more mad that everything is going up in price, but our wages aren't going up because we can't afford everything, than the government not giving me assistance. No time should you ever be relied on the government for your food, for your life, or anything. You should not be relying on them. And right now, our country, it it's almost like the this certain side that's living on EBT are dealing with their own apocalypse, and they are, and unfortunately they are because they set themselves up for that. Think about it this way. I have always like, I know it's not gonna happen, but I've always planned for a zombie apocalypse. What could happen if it did happen, just because that's my fantasy, and I that's I don't know why I love zombie stuff. And I've thought about it. How will I get food? How why this? How I that? I gotta do this. These people are thinking the same things because they have let everything go and they rely too much on the government. Again, that doesn't go to the people that deserve snap benefits. Some people need SNAP benefits and they deserve them. But how many people are abusing the system? That's freaking wild to me. And that's where we're at. People are gonna overthrow Walmart and they're gonna do this and do that because of Snap. And if you think it's just gonna stop there, it's gonna hurt all of us. This is gonna hurt all of us. Whether you believe it or not, this is gonna hurt all of us because a lot of these companies rely on Snap benefits because these people spend all their snap benefits there, and now we're in a situation where they're not gonna be spending that money. And then it's gonna cause problems down the road. I don't know. We're in a crazy, crazy, crazy time. I mean, you even got people like Shan Levelle James. I don't know if this is a real person or not, but I saw this on X. And her thing was everybody always asks me why I'm single, a mother of five at the age of 26. If y'all really smart, you'd understand kids is the biggest hustle out there. I don't clock into a job. I let Uncle Sam and baby daddies cut me a check every month. Five kids equals five bags. Food, stamp, food stamps, free rent, free health care, and child support on top of that. My bells pay my bills paid before I even wake up. Everybody keep asking why I had five kids because every single one come with a check attached. My life's secured while you're stressing over nine to fives. Don't be mad at me. You uh you're mad catching on to the hustle. How is that right? How are we in this situation where that is deemed normal? It's crazy. And then again, everybody's blaming the right, but yet here we go. I I I don't I don't know. I don't know where we're at. I don't I don't know. And you have so many people like stepping up saying if you say anything bad about it, it I you know I'm fucking tired of it. I'm tired of it. For the last five years, it's always been pushing one rhetoric or another. Do you believe in this? Do you believe in that? Do you support this? Do you support that? And I'm tired of it. It gets old. I mean, it when do we stop? When does it end? I don't know. It's a crazy, crazy time we're in. Again, I don't know. I don't know what the answer is. I just know that too many people rely on the government to just live their everyday life. I'm still in the mindset if you can go in and steal from a store, you're able-bodied to fill an application and go get a job. But then you have people who say, oh no, but there's still people do it from day to day. We're all struggling. We're all struggling. Look what the economy has done to us. We all struggle. But no one looks at that. They just want to blame Trump or they want to blame this. Again, two weeks ago, everybody was protesting Trump. Two weeks later, everybody's asking Daddy for a handout. I I I just don't I don't know where to go with it. I don't know. All in all, here's my opinion. Democrats are keeping the shutdown shut down because they're trying to push an agenda, and I think it's gonna cause a failure on their part. Eventually, people are gonna realize who's keeping the government shut down. Hopefully. I don't know. I've watched a lot of these far, far, far leftist. I've watched far rightists that are stupid as well, but I've watched a very, very far leftist that won't believe anything that's right in front of their face. And they say we don't. I I don't know. I I'm, like I said, more middle, a little bit to the right. Um there are extremists both ways that I just shake my head at. But I think this is gonna have a lot of, it's either gonna cause stupid people to really hate Donald Trump even more, or it's gonna open people's eyes to show how much the Democrat Party does not care about them. They just want to push an agenda. And that agenda is things that I don't agree with. I do not believe that illegal aliens should get to use our taxpayer money to live better lives than the people that are born and raised and work in the United States and pay taxes. There are so many people, white, black, Asian, Middle Eastern, that are here legally or born here from here, that work hard and live harder lifestyles than some of these illegals coming over, majority of illegals coming over. And they're not getting help the way that a lot of these illegals are. And I think it's all an agenda. I think it's being pushed to hate the right even more. But if you pay these people these illegals, they want to make it a you can vote where you're legal. I think that's not right. Um So many things I I just don't understand. Either way, there are men and women in this country that rely on SNAP benefits that the government is not giving them. Because one party is saying no because they're not getting their complete way of saying yes to illegal immigrants. We are spending far too much money on illegal immigrants to live better lifestyles than men and women that go work nine to fives while raising a family. What world are we in? I don't get it. There's many a people in this country that deserve them and need them, and we are holding their lives at stake to prove a point, and it's not right. So whether you're left, whether you're right, whether you're any of it, you should be a decent human being and see the Americans that are struggling while certain people are pushing for people that are not from America, that are here illegally, whether you believe that's breaking the law or not, it is. They're here illegally, receiving benefits they should not receive, while people that are American born here are struggling, and that's not right. We're playing with people's lives to prove a point. When does it end? And hopefully we can get it figured out before we go to the next stage and go to stage five and see where we're gonna go. Again, everybody, please stay safe. Spread the love and positivity. Let's let's get through this, we'll get through it together. Stay safe.
