SPEAKER_00

What's up, Borough Nation? And welcome to the Borough Buzz, the all-access path to everything sports in and around the borough. We're talking inside the lines and behind the scenes. Athletes, coaches, reps, and the stories you don't hear on game day. If it's happening in the gym, on the field, or in the locker room, you'll hear it here. This is the Borough Buzz.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to episode five of the Borough Buzz. And uh I couldn't think of two even better guests going into. I mean, we're going strong right now, Scott. I mean, we are going strong.

SPEAKER_01

Let's get a little, you know, a little uh what's the flex of this one? Let's get a little kids. Copeland flex with Wolf Bye. Let's get a little bit there. I know you didn't like that. I didn't like that, man.

SPEAKER_02

I ain't heard you say nothing about that flex the other night against the hills, man. Come on now. Listen, when they play the starting five for the Tart Hills, we'll talk about it. Here we go. Welcome, Addie Shear and Kaylee Brown. How are y'all doing? Yeah, tough, man. I know y'all hear that. I think they're outside clapping right now.

SPEAKER_01

They're waiting to get in there.

SPEAKER_02

She's out there clapping too. I just heard them leaving. Um, first of all, congrats, Oc, for coming in the best season in uh Ashborough women's basketball in five years. Um that's gotta mean a lot. Talk a little bit about as you headed, as we're filming right now, you're going into state playoffs. Talk about how excited it is, the season so far, how fun and the culture and the standard you've really set.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. I'm really excited. We haven't been able to make it a playoffs since I don't know. Like we didn't make it to playoffs my freshman or sophomore year, so being able to make it to first round and it being a home game is actually really exciting.

SPEAKER_02

And you coming back because you're used to that when last year y'all were in the playoffs, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we were.

SPEAKER_02

At Providence Grove. And uh, we had your uh former coach Cheek uh previously uh and he had some great things to say, but uh talk a little, he said you would have been playing for the four for him this year. So how does that make you feel going now you're at point guard?

SPEAKER_04

Um, it's been a struggle, but I mean Luther has taught me so much. Like he's helped me through everything. He knew I didn't know at all what I was doing. But it's been a challenge, but it's been fun.

SPEAKER_02

I love it. And we got a runner, uh your twin uh shout out to your sister for being runner up in state championship women's wrestling. Who wins the wrestling matchup? Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Her, obviously. Like she does.

SPEAKER_02

You would do something dirty. I know it. I know it. You would try to get upper edge.

SPEAKER_03

I'm not gonna lie, I would just run away.

SPEAKER_02

No, you're gonna have Lanine like WWE style around the corner with a chair.

SPEAKER_03

It's 2v1 the entire time.

SPEAKER_02

You can handle your own.

SPEAKER_03

I hang out.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, she can handle her own. I believe it. I'm gonna ask her dad because her dad would tell me the highest opinion who would win out of all three of them.

SPEAKER_01

Let me tell you this. I've fished when this girl was out there, even at the middle school level and then at the high school level, I've saw her a lot too. Uh there's not too many more out that I've saw in the area this year that goes up and down and can go through you. Like my girl here. Oh, she don't stop. Oh my god. She's tough. She's typical of that shot. I saw her on the volleyball court also. Oh, yeah. Volleyball player. Oh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I've done football, I've filmed them both her in volleyball and basketball, and she's got, I'm telling you, I pick on her and uh I'm and we've we bickered back and forth, but I have all the respect in the world for her because I think she's a stupid good athlete.

SPEAKER_01

Well, here's the thing: there's kids that make a difference in the game. I mean, there's kids that's gonna do their thing, but there's also kids and players that's gonna a difference maker. She's definitely, I'd say it, she's definitely a difference maker, whether it's volleyball or basketball. I know talking with Coach Wade Oxidine a lot about you. He told me, he says, we're a different team when she's in the game. And I'm sure Coach Luther would say the same thing.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm not gonna ask you the question that Luther will kill me for asking what's your favorite sport. So we'll just uh we'll get away from that right now and come back.

SPEAKER_01

Um ask the question. I just asked Coach.

SPEAKER_02

You did, you did. All right, favorite sport. We gotta say it right now.

SPEAKER_03

Volleyball. Volleyball. Put it in order.

SPEAKER_02

Put it in order because you're soccer too. You like soccer.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's just I'm not playing it because of my knee right now, but it would probably be like volleyball and basketball go back and forth every time, depending on like what mood I'm in or um how we're gonna be. What mood I'm in if you're what mood I'm in. Like I put work in for both, but it would probably just be volleyball, basketball, and then soccer.

SPEAKER_02

I would be smoji one-on-one.

SPEAKER_03

Um, I remember you had to do a cartwheel for me one time because I beat you.

SPEAKER_02

I like to play all the cartwheels. I played the couple. I do do a good cartwheel. I do do a good cartwheel. I'm not mate, thanks a lot. Now I'll get made fun of this by Nance, Luther, Calvin, Kelly Smith.

SPEAKER_05

You're welcome.

SPEAKER_02

Um, going off of that, you're you coming into uh year. Um talk a little bit about that point. We talked about the point guard position, but you're big-time volleyball too. Talk a little about your love for volleyball.

SPEAKER_04

Um, I love volleyball so much. I played it since fourth grade. It's like by far my favorite. Like none of the other sports can pair, but just like starting on a new team and just like how welcoming everyone was like from like the start. Like it's just such a positive like environment in every sport at Ashboro. And that makes such a difference for when you're like playing.

SPEAKER_02

I love it because you actually have, and you both can talk about this for I know Scott's probably got a question. Um, Coach Smith, you got her for volleyball and basketball. Talk about Coach Smith.

SPEAKER_03

She's actually two different people when it comes to volleyball and basketball. I'm not gonna lie. Like with volleyball, she's very serious, very you need to do this, you need to do this. And with basketball, it's just well, Luther has it, so I'm gonna make jokes with the team sometimes because Luther can be like going off or trying to say something. I look at Smith and we both start laughing. So then I get in trouble, and I'm like, that's Smith's fault, not mine.

SPEAKER_01

Well, the thing about Coach Smith, she was a heck of a bathor. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And basketball officiated. I just like I officiated everybody you got on the show, man. I'm getting old again.

SPEAKER_02

You didn't officiate me. I'm not gonna talk about that, but she was I must not have been that good because you don't remember me.

SPEAKER_01

She was that player. I'm not answering. She was that player. I mean, she was that competitor. And uh I always enjoyed talking to her even now. Asper is blessed to have her doing what she's doing because I've watched her up at NAMS when she was, you know, she was turning around some programs up there.

SPEAKER_02

I enjoy coaching uh every time, but when we she was the girls' coach, my first year as a boys, and we would talk strategy all the time. What are you doing in practice today? And we would talk back and forth. And uh, she's a heck of a coach. I have all the respect, good friend of mine. And even though as we switched the roles, even Coach Luther talk about uh going in out, Coach Luther, what he's what's he like, and is he gonna kill me for asking this question?

SPEAKER_03

I mean, he might seem scary, he's just a teddy bear. Like, he really is.

SPEAKER_02

I'm that coach, yeah, calling you out. I love it.

SPEAKER_03

But oh mostly with me and Kaylee, like we became really close during volleyball, and then you add Malia onto that.

SPEAKER_02

Malia.

SPEAKER_03

We just we mess with him all the time.

SPEAKER_02

I try to get her out here, but she was busy.

SPEAKER_03

He hates to see us three come in. Yeah. Because we're just gonna bug him the whole time.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, it's just like there's no one more fun to play with. Like, you respect him so much, he knows what he's talking about, but I mean, he's your best friend.

SPEAKER_02

Like, oh yeah, and starting lineups I was filming for y'all. Y'all are cracking some kind of joke about his hair when I was filming him. Um, y'all like, yeah, fresh cut something. I don't know what they're doing. They had him rolling because the camera was on them, and those two and Malia saying something to Coach Luther that he could not stop laughing.

SPEAKER_01

See the thing about Coach Luther, he and I got a little running joke. I call I've always called him Little Baxter.

SPEAKER_02

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_01

Because you know, him and Hunter Ridge sit on Baxter's bench, they played for him, they sit on his bench, but the other night smelled good like we heard in the back. But the other night, let me tell you something. I always get on Coach Baxter, GQ. That dude's cut down GQ. So the other night, senior night, I look out across. Here's Wes with his shirt and tie on all tucked in. I said, I gotta call Baxter tonight and tell him, you run in a close sacket. You took the snippet of the photo and running a close sacket to him. But uh, I got a question for Kaylee.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I think this is a question, not a tough question, but it's something now that that goes on a lot when you move from school to another school because it happens a lot. Talk about leaving a school where I'm sure you had a great relationship with people, you loved a school and coming to a brand new school because you are a sports person. You played multiple sports, and some people don't like it when kids leave and go to different schools. Talk about your experience and what it's meant to you and some of the ups and downs about it.

SPEAKER_04

It was really hard at the start. Like I had such a great group of friends, like such great teammates there. But um, I was really worried about how everyone would like handle it, if like they'd still like stay friends, but everyone was just like really supportive for me. Like they knew like I like cared so much about it. I wanted to be somewhere that like I just felt like you know, put in that same amount of effort, like they would see me like in the gym all the time in the summer and just everything like that. And just I got so many nice text messages, especially from Cheek. Even a week to being at Ashborough when it was kind of like I mean it's scary at the start, you know. And just a text from him that was like, I hope you're doing good, like I hope it's going good for you, and just like kind messages.

SPEAKER_02

He loves you, he loves you. He he he brags. I remember going to see them, and uh he just, I mean, you we talked about how you were just, you know, we talk about you being the workhorse, but like at Providence Grove, I watched you play and you just did whatever asked. Like if they didn't want need a score, they say, Hey, just go out there and bang. And you went out there and I see you push around people, and then you would laugh. I'd see that little smile at cheek, and you would just have that run back, like they'd be like, foul, technical, and you're like, eh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's a great answer because so many kids do move from school to school now. And to to have support from your former school to your new school, because I I love what you do even on the volleyball court and the basketball court. Uh, and how special was it at Christmas time to have a timeout with three seconds to go or whatever, and run a playoff right in front of me and hit a three to put it into overtime. And you're supposed to swing it. I mean, that's gotta be a feeling that you'll carry to your my age one day. Because that's gotta be a great feeling, not only for your team, but it's also for yourself.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it was a huge moment just because I like I've never been, you know, too like into basketball until this year, and I just I love it. Like, I love playing furly three. He'll make fun of me every single day until I die. That he said he's never seen someone hit a game winning shot and look so surprised that they hit it.

SPEAKER_01

That's great. That is great. It went in. It went in. But I'm gonna tell you that shot, y'all were down seven with a minute to go. I think it was less than that, wasn't it? Yeah, it was less than that. 23 seconds. 23. Yeah, yeah. And to hit that shot, they talk about momentum. That momentum y'all carried from that tying shot won that game for y'all because in the overtime, y'all dominate. It was like we're not gonna lose this game now. When it looked like you were down, and you know, talking with Coach Luther like I do with the with the girls' basketball team, there's times when you say, Well, there was one game against uh Eastern Guilford. He says, We just want to be, if we can get under 15 here, it might have been the north, if we can get under 15 here. For me, I feel like you know, we're making strides. Well, they got it, hit a shot at the end to make it 15. So there's little things, especially when the program hadn't been back where it could be. Uh but the biggest thing about you two young ladies are y'all part of the people that are gonna get it back to where it is and leave it better than you found it.

SPEAKER_02

Two juniors, right here. Two juniors right here.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I'm saying. So that's that's gotta feel good for both of you.

SPEAKER_02

And uh playing off of that, um, I want to have a little fun, Scott. I know we got a little serious again. I want to talk some funny stuff here. Um, one, let's talk about who's the biggest trash talker on the team. Who would you say, Kaylee?

SPEAKER_04

Um is it Addy? Well, we don't like, I wouldn't say we're not one of those teams that goes out like, oh, we're better than you.

SPEAKER_02

Like, oh I know. I see the smiling all the time. I laughing again. Y'all even made fun of me. I put my hat off and you made fun of me for sweating. I was working my butt off and I got picked on for sweating. Y'all say, at least just go like this.

SPEAKER_04

I don't really feel like any of us like trash talk. Like we trash talk Luther. Yeah. Not like other teammates. Oh wow.

SPEAKER_05

I love it. Wow.

SPEAKER_03

Not like other teammates. I love it. Like during practice, like I'll probably be like screaming and yelling at somebody. Like, if like you were there when I was screaming at Kendall or something, like and I didn't even really do anything good. I was just screaming at her.

SPEAKER_02

Well, the best thing is she look at me and you go, was that too mean? I'm like, No, you're fine. Alright, so no trash talker then. So play off of that. What's the funniest trash talk to Luther y'all have ever done?

SPEAKER_03

We do a lot. Yeah, it's an everyday. I probably do it. Me and Malia probably do it the most though.

SPEAKER_04

We have him in weight training now. Oh. So we're like together all a fourth period and then practice. So but he'll give it right back to you.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I've heard it. He gives our well, what's funny is y'all came to watch and support the eighth grade night for Sam's versus Nam's. And I remember I, you know, I was getting, I was getting the DJ settled and all that, and I just started hearing a happy birthday song being something. And I was like, and I went up to Luther on the other sidelines. I said, dude, you didn't tell me me and Luther are good friends. I was like, You didn't tell me it was your birthday. And he's like, it's not.

SPEAKER_03

That's the second time. We did it to him whenever we went to Sir Pizza, and we got the whole restaurant joining, singing it with him, and he just has his head down and he's embarrassed, and we're like, Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'll need to take him somewhere where you get a free piece of cake or something.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, they were I mean, I'll never forget it. I was on the other side of the gym, and that was a big gym, and I just heard clear as day the whole song. And I walked right up to Luther, I was like, Man, I was like, Happy birthday. And then he's just like, I'm gonna kill him. I'm gonna kill him.

SPEAKER_01

So next time when when you go to practice, if you think about it and just go on that one time, say, Coach, somebody told me they call you little Baxter. And watches look, watches look. Remember that one. I'm giving you some ammunition here.

SPEAKER_02

Oh so off of that, what's the funniest locker room or bus ride story I've had this year?

SPEAKER_01

You notice they giggle and look at each other.

SPEAKER_02

Is this appropriate to say? I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

I'm just trying to remember. I mean, we like to sleep on buses. I can't lie. Like, we really do.

SPEAKER_03

Like up to games, we'll like be listening to music, singing along. You have JV in the front, probably annoyed with us because we're doing too much. And like we were coming back from, I think it was the I don't even know what game it was, but we were all just standing up laughing, dancing, singing. Like, it was like I'm not gonna lie, it was probably after loss. But like sometimes you it's like you can't really focus on the loss, you have to focus on like your teammates and like how much fun you're having with each other because the basketball season might seem long, but like right now I'm like, oh crap, like we're almost done, and I won't be able to see some of these people ever again.

SPEAKER_02

One being your sister.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she's about to graduate. Does that bring any emotions knowing that your sister's about to be gone, you're on your own?

SPEAKER_03

I mean, kind of, but not really, because like I'll see her every day anyways.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Well, it's funny because I I feel like they do a lot of team bonding. That's one thing Wes talked about, like, about making sure they have that chemistry. Because I remember one day uh they didn't have a game that Monday and they surprised him bowling. And it's funny because Kaylee was like, Can you tell me what time like we're gonna be done with practice? Can you can and he's like, Don't worry about it. It's just like, well, can you tell me? Uh and we're like, What do you got a date? Like, we're like, what are you doing? Like, why do you gotta be a certain time?

SPEAKER_04

I'm such a planner, and there's the total opposite in it.

SPEAKER_02

He busted your chops when you kept asking it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I had volleyball that night too.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. That's what it was about volleyball. That was that's what it was volleyball.

SPEAKER_04

Let's just say we both beat him at bowling.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Did y'all beat him at bowls? Yes, we did. I got I beat him twice. And then there's this one round I got like four or five strikes in the whole thing, and then Kendall got so mad at me.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my goodness. Oh, playing off. Look, I'm about to make I'm about to make Luther laugh right here. All right. All right, it's two on it's two on two, right? You get to pick one partner out of these four to be on your team. You gotta tell me who you pick. Calvin, Coach Brown, Coach Smith, Coach Luther, or Coach Nance Smith. Smith.

SPEAKER_04

Smith.

SPEAKER_02

Who's your thing? Oh, I love it. All right, let's take Smith out. Let's get it. Let's take Smith out. Take Smith out. Who you got, Kaylee?

SPEAKER_04

Um, I I've never seen Nance play.

SPEAKER_02

He was pretty good in his time. Man, he was hitting all those free throws at practice I was at when y'all had to y'all had to push the towels and if you didn't pick the person that could make it.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna have to say Luther, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Luther? Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Now I'm gonna have to say Nance. Because he'll just throw stuff up and it goes in. I'm like, okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Poor Coach Brown. I guess he better stick with football, man.

SPEAKER_01

I got I got something, though. I've been sitting there thinking ever since they came in. And this one's for Kaylee. Because I'm not gonna let Coach Brown get off this podcast easy. Yep. Tell us something funny that nobody that we wouldn't know.

SPEAKER_02

And our viewers, this is his niece, so we got both coach and a family member of my name.

SPEAKER_01

You can let it go here. Let us give us that funny thing that I can get him on next time I see him. Something he's done, something he does.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, like, it's so funny. Like, he is a total different person, you know, coaching. And you have to be with like the kids, but I mean he's like pretty quiet. Like, you know. So he's a quiet guy. I mean, he's not like super.

SPEAKER_02

I hear him raise his voice in practice. We talk about he's quiet.

SPEAKER_04

No, that's what like he flips a switch. Like he knows how to handle them, you know, and that's a different way.

SPEAKER_02

Now, your turn with Coach Shear. Women's right here, Coach Shear, West Shear. You gotta give us something funny to get him next time.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I don't know. Neither one of them is giving us nothing. I do stupid stuff to him all the time.

SPEAKER_02

Tell me something funny.

SPEAKER_03

I'll press on the back of his leg and he'll like fall forward sometimes.

SPEAKER_02

So you just sneak up on him and not.

SPEAKER_03

It's funny because I know he has weak knees.

SPEAKER_02

That's so messed up. I heard your dad's weak knees. I got to get it.

SPEAKER_03

He passed it on to me, so I have to get him back for it.

SPEAKER_02

As we wrap up this episode, Scott, anything you want to say before I hit my favorite segment, the quick hitters?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I appreciate you young ladies and what y'all do. I love watching you play, whether it's volleyball, whether it's basketball. Uh never saw you play soccer, but uh I heard she was pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

I know Cush Ramon was probably not happy that you weren't playing this year.

SPEAKER_01

So, but I appreciate I appreciate y'all and what y'all do because I watch you play with passion. Keep that passion that you have because nobody can take that away from you. That's just that's you. That describes you. Uh and always remember Randolph SportsCentral.com. We're watching you. We're gonna get that headset on you.

SPEAKER_02

I love it. We love it. And uh this is my favorite segment I do. So what I tell is you don't think just answers quick hitters, just like plays. You know, those little quick one hitters that Wes probably makes y'all do. Um, who is the funniest on the team?

SPEAKER_04

Uh Malia.

SPEAKER_02

Who's the funniest on the team?

SPEAKER_04

Malia.

SPEAKER_02

So you both agree. Look, we're gonna have to see. Okay, Malia's a funny. She does talk some smack. She is funny. So and then when I crack a joke, she goes, Why are you picking on me? I'm like the only one that likes you. I'm like, what? Uh who is most likely to miss a layup in practice?

SPEAKER_04

Kendall. Malia.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, but she gets like 20 rebounds, so it doesn't care about it.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, misses. She calls them. She calls them me bounds. I called her I call her, I call her Angel Reese.

SPEAKER_01

We should get Oh Lord, we were beat.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, we should do we should get her a shirt that says what did you say? Me bounds. We should get her a shirt that says me bounds and give it to her. We gotta get that. We gotta get just keep swinging uh the hat I'm wearing to make us some merch right here that says me bounds and put dash Addy and Kaylee. Um you're going down the middle and they collapse. Who do you kick it to?

SPEAKER_03

Addie.

SPEAKER_02

Addie? Ooh. Oh you can't kick it to yourself, so you gotta pick somebody.

SPEAKER_03

Probably Kaylee.

SPEAKER_02

Kaylee? Okay, just because she had that one big time game winning, huh? Yeah. All right, you trust her now.

SPEAKER_01

Well, most of the time when Alan's going down the middle, she's gonna put it in the basket. I'm just telling you, she's going to the hoop.

SPEAKER_02

Or is she gonna put you on the ground on the wall out? She's going to the hoop. As we wrap up, what's next for you guys? Are you wanting as you go to the next level? I know you got one more year, but are you trying are you hearing from any colleges right now, potentially? Volleyball or basketball?

SPEAKER_04

I really want to play college volleyball. Okay. And, you know, the recruiting process is a a lot. So just trying to figure that out right now.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I would rather go for volleyball, but I've gotten more stuff for basketball. I got uh email back from a university in Tennessee to come for me to come to a camp.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, nice.

SPEAKER_03

So I would love to go for volleyball, but also it's the competition of basketball that makes me stay with it. So I I don't really mind which one I go for.

SPEAKER_01

You hear that. I like that. I like it. I mean, that's that's big. That's why I say fine people on the show, man. But these young ladies are fun to watch.

SPEAKER_02

I like it too. They're they're fun.

SPEAKER_01

These shows off the court, they're totally different. I mean, you know what I'm saying? They're just happy and have a good time.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just not I'm just glad they're nice to me because usually they're picking on me. I got Luther and them, they're just ragging. You gotta get Malia for that. And then Kaylee's smiling. I wish we had Malia here too. That'd be a perfect list. Yeah, yeah. I think Addie tried to get her for me, but she said she had a tournament or something. Because I was wanting all y'all to be on there and I was just gonna share my mic with her and be like, but Malia, what you got to say? But we'll have to get her back. I I really think we're gonna do that. I'm gonna get that shirt made and we'll have to do a sports in the broken bike. We should give it to them, act like we're doing an interview on sportscentral.com. Yeah. And then we can just give her the shirt.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

As we wrap up, anything y'all want to give credit to your family? You know, I know your dad's the cut wrestling coach, but I mean he's there all the time, man.

SPEAKER_03

And your mom, everybody in your family, all talk about that support of your family, and just, you know, if anything you want to thank them for for I know you're just a junior, but I mean, I love um having them there mostly because it's me and my sister, and they're not just there for like my sisters, they're also there for me too. So it's like a r it's a really good way of thinking about it. I'm glad that they're there to support me too.

SPEAKER_04

My dad is like my biggest fan. I mean, he is always watching film, like he stays on NFHS, and he'll just like text me for games like this number's gonna do this, like, here's how you should play it. Like, I was just very grateful for it.

SPEAKER_02

That's awesome. I love the fact, and then uh as we were, you know, you're about to lose some guy, um, some girls and it's like. Let me ask you this, right?

SPEAKER_01

I didn't mean to interrupt you. Text before games, you just said it. That's gotta be special. I used to sta I'd always text my granddaughter Kate when she was at UR Charter, especially younger, coming up, and we had different words, and I would put predominate. I put it in capital letters before every match. That was her junior year. And then it was uh her senior year. It was the best player on the floor to go for the kid. Every match he did it in capital letters. There was one time when I don't know if it didn't go through or something, because I sent it. And I sent it and I get to the match and she said, Papa, I didn't get my text today. And I went, Yeah, you did. No, you I for it didn't go through. You know what I'm saying? But that's that's gotta be a special thing for you. It means a lot, I'm sure. And that that hit me when you said that. Your dad doing that. That's special.

SPEAKER_02

And I promise, this is my last question. Um you got some you're losing some members this year, and but you're gaining some good ones like Cadence, Kylie, uh, a couple people from Sam's, really good girls. Um, you're losing Lenine, uh, a great ball player, and you're losing uh Tiffin. Uh which I y'all both laugh. So tell you know, talk a little bit about the the the seniors that you're losing. Um and as we wrap up and just making them, because I know Tiffin, she's only this is she's not, she's a senior, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

But she stepped in and helped y'all a lot this year.

SPEAKER_01

Katie Jones, right?

SPEAKER_02

Katie Jones, too, yeah, of course. I miss Katie. I keep thinking she's a junior.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And she's like taking like 60 different honors courses and some crazy stuff like that. Um but talk about those seniors and what it's gonna mean in the future without them, but and they're thanking them for all they've done.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I'm gonna miss the two foreign exchangements we have. Like today I'm about to go hang out with Lou. Like, and Tiffin, she kills me. But she's she's an amazing basketball player. For someone to for you to be in a Ford Entertainment and you to come over and be one of our starters, like that that should really say how good she is at what she does. And then having Leneen and Katie leave, they're some of our strongest shooters. They can get down the court, um, make their layups, anything. Like, for them to be leaving, that's it's gonna be hard, but I feel like we're gonna be adjusting and Cadence. I'm excited for Cadence to come. Like, me and her already have a really great relationship. So for her to come, I feel like it's gonna be a really good game.

SPEAKER_02

I love it. I love it. Well, I want to thank you two for being on this episode of the Borough Buzz, and uh, I'm wishing you the best. I know this is gonna air after y'all's game. Um, I'm hoping you I'm rooting hard for y'all. Um, I hope y'all enjoyed that hype video I did. Yeah. Um, but I'm sure there's more to come.
