Supreme Lord Sufficient Savior - A Study Of Colossians:Colossians 3:1-4

Dr.Jay Worthington

Is there any power in our Christian life? Would we describe our faith as powerful? In Chapter 3 of Colossians, Paul shifts from offering warnings to providing exhortations on how to live a powerful life of faith. He will share practical guidance on our daily interactions with one another. However, in the verses we will examine this week, he first reveals the source of Christian power and several ways that power should transform us.

The church at Colossae might have existed thousands of years ago, and thousands of miles away from us, but the letter Paul wrote to them is just as meaningful and relevant today as if it were written yesterday. The book of Colossians offers a wonderful mix of theological truth and practical life application. The beginning of the book presents one of the most profound teachings about Christ anywhere in scripture. The second half explains how that truth is expressed in every aspect of our lives, from our individual lives to our homes, families, and work. No matter where you are, there is something in this study for you.
