Supreme Lord Sufficient Savior:The Study of the Book of Colossians - Colossians 3:18-21

Will O'Brien

We resume our study of Colossians, picking up with 3:18-21. After laying a strong foundation of doctrine in chapters 1 and 2, Paul shifts in chapter 3 to what that truth should look like in everyday life. In verses 18–21, he focuses on the home, marriage, kids, and parenting. Let’s be honest, when it comes to family roles, things can get messy. Some of us are confused, some are worn out, and some feel stuck. But in these four verses, God, through the Apostle Paul, brings clarity, conviction, and hope.

 Series Overview

The church at Colossae might have existed thousands of years ago and thousands of miles away from us, but the letter Paul wrote to them is just as meaningful and relevant today as if it were written yesterday. The book of Colossians offers a wonderful mix of theological truth and practical life application. The beginning of the book presents one of the most profound teachings about Christ anywhere in scripture. The second half explains how that truth is expressed in every aspect of our lives, from our individual lives to our homes, families, and work. No matter where you are, there is something in this study for you.
