He ended, he was a little excited.
you
speaker-1 (00:49.718)
What is up Raiders? We are live. Tonight's not about hype. It's about facts and rules. We're going to cover some shit tonight. Are the Raiders crossing the line? Well, Leo and our special guest tonight, Steve, chapter of the Sacramento Black Hole president, who has a new channel, by the way. So it's in all the chats already. There it is right there. It's SAC Blackout. Make sure you go to that on YouTube. Look them up.
You're going to start seeing stuff coming from Steve and his VP. Steve, you want to say a little something about it before we start?
speaker-2 (01:24.758)
Yeah, my VP DJ real about it. We're going to start a podcast. We're not going to be live right away. We're going to record and drop a a podcast once a week on the channel. We'll probably be adding some shorts and stuff on there to certain events and different stuff like that talking about certain things. So just something we're starting up. We want to talk. Have you guys on as guests just like you have me on and yeah, see where this goes.
speaker-1 (01:53.518)
Awesome.
speaker-0 (01:54.358)
I just subscribed. I just subscribed.
speaker-0 (02:03.374)
You gotta have the world famous Silver and Black podcast on there to bring it up.
speaker-3 (02:07.15)
I'm already on there. I was like number four.
speaker-0 (02:09.645)
How do you think it's funny? The first thing I see when I go onto your page is A-Lon. Like A-Lon of all people! Shout out to A-Lon, Yes, yes, yes.
speaker-3 (02:11.278)
Hey.
speaker-2 (02:25.154)
He is everywhere.
speaker-1 (02:29.71)
God. Well, I want to jump right into this and then we can kind of just sail through the rest of the show tonight. So the big thing is other Raiders crossing the line. Now, what I mean by that or what we mean by that is you're seeing everybody talking about the whole Brian Greasy working with Mendoza. almost said Chidor. Working with Mendoza. And you got people out there saying, he's got the playbook already. The Raiders set this up and they got Greasy helping him out. And you know, he's
You know, the the Raiders are involved in this. Well, we're to set all that crap straight tonight because it's all false. OK, he is working with them, but he's hired by Mendoza's camp. The Raiders have nothing to do with this. Yeah, so we're going to cover this and we're going to start this right now. So are the Raiders crossing the line? As you think right now, guys, do you think they're crossing the line right now doing what's with what's going on with?
Greasy working with Mendoza.
speaker-2 (03:30.998)
Well, considering- Al Davis used to say, you need to cheat to win.
speaker-0 (03:36.878)
the
speaker-2 (03:42.102)
I think highly encourage. I absolutely, I didn't mean to cut off Leo, but I absolutely do not believe they're crossing the line. He does not have the playbook, but Greasy happens to know that offense and he's working with them, working with them to be under center and all those different things. But the Raiders have not given Fernando Mendoza a playbook.
speaker-1 (04:05.688)
Leo?
speaker-0 (04:07.138)
I think it's funny that Raider fans are adamant or think that we would do something like this when we were telling Baltimore that they're pieces of shit for backing out of a deal. know, the irony, right? When we encourage cheating and shit is not OK and shit that is not cool. But no, they're not. Mendoza's can't hire Brian Greasy. The Raiders didn't say, hey, go get Greasy, anything like that.
That would be tampering. Even if you do have the number one pick, it's smart business by, by Mendoza, you know, a lot of the knocks are on him not being the play under center, not knowing the West coats or NFL NFL style offense. say that in quotes because the NFL is, changing now. Right. But it makes sense. He's working with someone who's familiar with happens for work with our coach, former coach. Right. So I don't think the Raiders are doing anything.
But I think all it does is just add to that notion that if you are 100 % in on Mendoza and nobody else, then you buy into that narrative. Look at what they're doing. They're already learning the playbook or else would he go? Kirk Cousins being here has nothing to do with him. Shut up, Leo. Like, why are you bringing up Kirk Cousins? Like, you know, things like that. But it's it's no big deal. Braider fans, we just like to make things bigger than they are because it's us. No, but.
Yeah, I don't think it's such a big deal.
speaker-1 (05:33.068)
Yeah.
speaker-3 (05:34.754)
Are you kidding me, man? Are we tampering right now? Are we really gonna go and give this number one pick our playbook and say, hey, here's our playbook. Let's make sure that you're ready to go and the NFL is not gonna find out. Bro, this is the thing with people, right? They get that Brian Gracie's coming and he came from Pubiak system and he knows his offense. All of a sudden, it's the same playbook.
It's not the same playbook that when when greasy was there, can he learn a lot of the same things and a lot of the same systems? Absolutely. It's not like you're going to go, hey, that's a concept right there. Yeah, this is the way that coach likes to run this concept or things like that. But it doesn't mean that he has the exact playbook that would be fucking retarded of.
speaker-0 (06:24.362)
Is there even a Raider playbook at this point? The guy just got here.
speaker-3 (06:29.582)
He doesn't even know what players he has.
speaker-2 (06:33.602)
They just started their offseason program today.
speaker-0 (06:36.206)
Exactly.
speaker-2 (06:38.727)
On the same on the same day Fernando Mendoza is visiting, by the way.
speaker-3 (06:50.094)
And according to some fans, he's already been in the facility for weeks getting this playbook down pat throw into receipt. I mean like this is
speaker-0 (06:57.902)
You know what it was the Raiders were smart about it because Madden's coming out soon Madden always has the playbook They've actually sent Mendoza a copy of Madden and that area practicing
speaker-1 (07:13.579)
Just quick shout out to everybody in the chat appreciate everybody being here again. Make sure you get over to The new channel that Steve started up today about recently not just today. Yeah
speaker-0 (07:26.03)
Yeah, I was I love it Steven I know you told me about it recently and I'm glad to see that you have it up and running and Like I told you when you told me about it anything you need help wise to get your show your channel started, bro I'm here to help here to help me. So Fine that first hundred is the hardest part
speaker-3 (07:40.92)
You already
speaker-2 (07:43.455)
I appreciate all your
speaker-2 (07:50.892)
Getting this first one out is going to be hard.
speaker-0 (07:53.314)
Yeah, so you got it, bro. You got our support, man. Yeah.
speaker-2 (07:57.208)
I appreciate it. Thank you.
You
speaker-1 (08:01.486)
So basically, there's multiple violations if this were the case. So everybody that thinks they have the playbook or he has the playbook or that the Raiders are involved in setting this up, there's so much involved that the NFL would definitely take notice on this 100%. So NFL rules, you're okay to evaluate a player, which is what the Raiders have been doing with him.
speaker-0 (08:03.33)
What it is is a
speaker-1 (08:30.958)
going to his pro day, talking to him, doing the interviews, knowing what the kid's all about. Well, what he's doing now is he's trying to develop himself, but the Raiders cannot actually partake in any further development he does prior to being drafted. Because right now he's owned by nobody. He's not a Raider. He's not even drafted. There's nothing. So you cannot have involvement with the...
speaker-0 (08:50.582)
He's not a raider.
speaker-1 (08:58.104)
player per NFL rules. Now I'm not making this shit up. You want to look it up? can do a simple Google search, NFL rules pertaining to draftees or potential draft players. And it will tell you specifically there's do's and don'ts. Okay. So now, yes, Greasy is working with him. He is familiar with the system. He's worked in it for so long. So Greasy plus Mendoza, private coach, absolutely fine. Again, hired by Mendoza's crew.
Intent matters. Rate of connection? Bad. So, private coach? Good. Rate of connection to everything? Bad. Which means...
speaker-3 (09:37.599)
We came back now
speaker-1 (09:39.298)
Yeah, basically.
speaker-2 (09:42.67)
You don't think Tom Brady's calling greasy and asking them how things are going?
speaker-1 (09:48.568)
the
speaker-0 (09:54.218)
If it is, so what?
speaker-2 (09:57.102)
It's Tom Brady there at the workouts and a mustache and a sombrero
speaker-1 (10:02.542)
the
speaker-0 (10:24.73)
Legal tampering, legal tampering.
speaker-0 (10:30.24)
tampering in general illegal anyway.
speaker-1 (10:33.262)
Correct. NFL is lenient when it comes to the free agent process. Yeah. You know, this is different. This is a potential prospect. OK, so normal prep. Yes. Something more. Who knows? Crossing the line is exactly what everybody's got in their head with the playbook. How much the world involved in this? OK, so if it is true, NFL will step in and it's not a small issue. This is something that they will crack down on big time.
the
speaker-0 (11:06.296)
when
speaker-0 (11:14.072)
Someone lost their first round pick for temp
speaker-1 (11:16.344)
Maybe not there first, might have been a later pick.
speaker-0 (11:19.247)
I know you've got people who got penalized for breaking rules. The Patriots lost drafts for rules, but not the first round pick. I don't think it's ever happened in the first round.
speaker-1 (11:29.934)
So these are the potential penalties. If they find anything that the organization is involved with it, you're going to have fines, loss of picks, and possible suspensions. By suspensions, that means the coach, because if he's got knowledge of this going on and he's the one that put Greasy on that path and has been in contact with Greasy about it, that could be it. Could be penalties on players.
Any player that may be assisting him in this process could also be an issue. So it's not just coaches and owners or front office personnel, it's also players too. So if there's a player that's out there helping him that is on the roster right now, that could be a potential issue too.
speaker-0 (12:16.034)
Damn it, O'Connell.
speaker-1 (12:17.708)
So here's my argument, not my argument, but this is where I don't understand why some fans are saying what they're saying because the Raiders have been so smart during the whole off season process. Like with contracts, with players we've brought into the organization. Why now would we go and do something so stupid that could jeopardize the future of this team? Right?
speaker-3 (12:42.75)
It's because we're fans like they are just fans. just people that are going to go with whatever anybody says. They don't go to a source. They don't go anything. mean, like literally if somebody says the sky is red that day, everybody just goes and follows.
speaker-2 (13:00.398)
I mean, mean, look at how many people post, repost all the fake shit that gets put on Facebook. They believe that stuff. And I'm just like, oh my God, are you guys that?
speaker-0 (13:10.424)
Somebody reposted Max Crosby's mom dying? Tim Brown?
speaker-1 (13:15.861)
One time
speaker-2 (13:16.302)
I tell that Tom Flores dying. I saw like five people post that I'm like
speaker-0 (13:20.366)
And then you cut out and see that that that shit ain't cool. I'm just reposting what I saw.
speaker-3 (13:27.934)
Exactly! They don't check no sources, bro. I was like, since when did Crosby's mom die? What about it?
speaker-0 (13:34.574)
Clickbaiters, man. Clickbaiters. Even the era of clickbaiters.
speaker-3 (13:39.458)
Bro, that's exactly what it is. So that's why you get that, Jeff. That's why you get people saying, Mendoza has the playbook. I heard it from this guy. I'm like, what a credible.
speaker-0 (13:50.616)
Trust me bro, that's my source. Trust me bro.
Like Bueno said, it happened before. Trust me, bro.
speaker-1 (14:06.766)
You know what it was? wasn't what a traffic. It was the Miami Dolphins with Tom Brady because Brady was under contract still in 2023 when that happened. I'm sorry, 2022.
speaker-0 (14:20.692)
You know that was the gripe al davis had with john gruden and why he traded him Because he was still under contract and the buccaneers were talking to him About trying to lure him away from the time That was al davis's whole gripe what pushed him to move forward because I guess they already were like bumping heads or whatever But yeah, and I was like that that's some shit that I would do bro. Mm-hmm. Yeah
speaker-1 (14:26.509)
What?
speaker-2 (14:34.456)
Yeah.
speaker-1 (14:50.018)
But so basically worst case scenario would be your draft would be impacted by losing draft picks and also the reputation damage to the coach, the organization. I mean, how much more damage can the organization take already anyway? You know, to spy tech, you know, any of that credibility that that affects them in more ways than you think, So everybody stop with the he's got the playbook. The rate is set this up. It's totally not true. Again.
speaker-0 (15:18.638)
where people stop.
speaker-3 (15:38.734)
So can we just put it like this though, Jeff, that he's taking the appropriate steps to start learning.
speaker-1 (15:45.676)
Yeah, it's smart.
speaker-3 (15:48.398)
He has the exact playbook which is gonna be like 39 Falcon f3 zigzag or whatever
speaker-1 (15:59.106)
To what?
speaker-3 (16:01.102)
Yeah, okay It's impossible bro, because we all know that he doesn't even know what players he's got. We don't know who he's gonna draft We don't even know who's gonna be available after the first pick Don't even know if we're gonna draft the first pick yet. We we haven't even drafted Mendoza
speaker-2 (16:03.128)
yeah.
speaker-0 (16:18.688)
Wow, wow, slow down there.
speaker-1 (16:20.462)
the
speaker-2 (16:23.49)
for off the screen.
speaker-0 (16:29.07)
I'm not supposed to laugh. I'm sorry.
speaker-3 (16:33.286)
my god. I fucking cheated.
speaker-1 (16:36.354)
Why you not supposed to laugh?
speaker-0 (16:37.934)
Remember all I do is laugh because
speaker-3 (16:40.206)
He's a fucking bully, You know the bully. That's how we know him. Big pound for pound bully.
speaker-1 (16:46.606)
the
speaker-0 (16:53.062)
So yeah, I just can't wait to get a call from Raider Jeff, right? Like they're waiting. this is Raider Jeff. Trust me, bro. It's real.
speaker-3 (17:05.441)
I guess so.
speaker-1 (17:06.05)
Meet you the dark corner somewhere.
speaker-0 (17:09.294)
my lord, my lord. That's crazy.
speaker-1 (17:13.378)
So it's just ridiculous. I mean, it is a smart move. It's not a rule break right now. But it is a smart move by Menoulis.
speaker-0 (17:26.793)
you kind of got this tone like you wanted to be
speaker-3 (17:29.836)
Yeah
speaker-0 (17:32.162)
No?
speaker-3 (17:33.621)
He's like...
speaker-1 (17:34.19)
No.
speaker-0 (17:35.659)
your right hand man Jason Downs over there kind of throwing you under the bus that you do this willingly.
speaker-2 (17:41.559)
and you're not trying.
speaker-0 (17:42.894)
Fuck you.
speaker-1 (17:46.126)
Just don't
speaker-0 (17:48.142)
You're gonna see like a breaking news Mendoza caught drinking while under the influence and Jeff like in the back like running
speaker-3 (17:54.382)
Runny
speaker-0 (17:59.112)
I'm holding the car and they're like, huh. Yeah.
speaker-3 (18:04.822)
you was drinking some holy water there, huh bud?
speaker-0 (18:07.984)
my god.
speaker-1 (18:08.686)
just never knew having a former quarterback that knows the system, given the verbiage and kind of like the understanding. get that part.
speaker-0 (18:16.811)
How developed is the Raider playbook at this point though? That's funny part.
speaker-1 (18:22.143)
yeah! I'm sure they got a playbook already, they have to one!
speaker-0 (18:25.198)
Kubiak has his playbook and his system, but he's still gonna what?
speaker-1 (18:29.548)
Well, big thing is how much has it changed since Greasy Plate?
speaker-3 (18:34.388)
So I'll explain it like this, Jeff. And I like every single time that I go and I coach another team, a different team, I might have a base playbook, but you strip it down because you have different guys that have different abilities. So the whole playbook can be like, hey, I'm not going to come here and go, hey, when we don't have five wide receivers, you're not really going to focus on a five wide receiver package. you can focus on certain parts.
speaker-0 (18:49.454)
Have a great day.
speaker-1 (19:00.087)
Okay.
speaker-2 (19:03.338)
You know, Kurt Cousins said in his interview yesterday that Clint Kubiak is the type of person that comes to the players and asks them what they like to run, watches the films and seeds, how they play. And he develops his playbook around the players. So just because you saw it one way in Minnesota or one way in Seattle, doesn't mean it's going to be that way in Las Vegas. Clint Kubiak is going to, he's got Ashton Gentile. He's got.
One of the greatest tight ends that he's probably ever had in any of the teams he's been on in Brock Bowers. So he, you know, he's got a lot.
He's got a lot he can do that we probably haven't even seen.
speaker-3 (19:46.798)
Now his playbook is going to change because the players that he has in those key positions are different. So you try to maximize your players and say, hey, we're going to scrap this. We're going to use more of this. I mean, like he can go into 12, 13, if he wants to go 13 personnel and use that playbook more heavily than others or that part of his playbook.
speaker-0 (20:07.448)
So the concepts and the system remain. Yes. The verbiage, would the verbiage.
speaker-3 (20:13.132)
Verbiage would change because you don't want other teams to catch on to your verbiage. Remember, every single time that you go out to a new team, you are going and you're interacting with those players. Those motherfuckers are stupid.
speaker-0 (20:25.944)
We wouldn't have a replay of the Superboy against Tampa where they knew everything.
speaker-1 (20:29.346)
I was just gonna say that I said yeah, we're gonna change the RV and go back to 2002.
speaker-0 (20:34.86)
Because what you were saying about the playbook thing, like I and I don't know why I go down this rabbit hole with people. I do it sometimes on Facebook when I'm bored and I shouldn't. Their arguments mean when I bring that up, of course they have a playbook. It's the one he's bringing from Seattle. So does that mean every time we play the Seahawks, they're going to know what we're doing?
speaker-3 (20:52.908)
And that's the thing, right? You don't change the verbiage. If you don't change the verbiage and if you don't change wrinkles and add things and take away things, then people are gonna know what the fuck you're doing every year.
speaker-2 (21:05.294)
Well, you know, these guys, they'll change the verbage and they can change the way the play lines up to and look, it can be it can be the play, but they disguise it and it looks like something that looks like they're in a different formation, but they're actually doing this play.
speaker-0 (21:19.5)
Hey boogie, you want to put money on that? Since you're so sure. I want to call him out. Are you so sure? You say it every week. Want to put money on that?
speaker-1 (21:23.118)
He says that every week when he comes on one of these shows.
speaker-0 (21:32.125)
You wanna put some money?
speaker-3 (21:36.014)
Round Cove 16 and 1? Come on bro.
speaker-0 (21:42.862)
I gotta change the verb. Change the verb, it's...
speaker-3 (21:45.686)
You have to bro. Like if you're sitting there saying the same thing, I'm telling you players pick up on such crazy things.
speaker-0 (21:52.462)
This is not how I thought we were going to open up today's show, by the
speaker-1 (21:56.162)
What's up?
speaker-0 (21:57.358)
I really thought we were gonna open up with the signing, you know, the veteran quarterback that we have in the room. He finally signed his deal yesterday. It's official. You know, I was getting a little nervous. We might have a Raven situation going on. Maybe Kirk didn't pass the vehicle. Jesus.
speaker-1 (22:11.214)
the
speaker-0 (22:18.126)
Did say, how do you like that? You like that? Did he say it? I hope he did. I hope he did.
speaker-1 (22:20.93)
Did say it? Yeah.
speaker-2 (22:24.47)
He had a good interview yesterday. I what show that was that he was on, but I watched it. No, was Amber.
speaker-0 (22:29.513)
Was he on
speaker-3 (22:34.23)
Emberthio Harris, think.
speaker-0 (22:35.374)
Oh, okay, okay, okay. Oh, he's probably too, too, too vanilla for JT. might test him out or something. Probably. But Amberthiel Harris, that's a good one. I got a lifestyle one. was pretty busy yesterday and this morning, so I'll get on and I'll watch it later on today.
speaker-3 (22:51.79)
But let me ask you guys this right? We told you since Cheeto brought it up her cousins. They're saying that he's not coming in here to be a mentor. A lot of people are saying, yeah, he's going to be a mentor and this and that. And it doesn't sound like rage or asking that up.
speaker-0 (23:06.926)
rewind a little bit whose day first of all whose day saying he's coming in to be a mentor and what's
speaker-3 (23:13.378)
Rader fans have been saying that we need to Rader fans like if you've been paying attention to all the boards, people were saying that.
speaker-1 (23:22.894)
I'm on Facebook Leo, you know
speaker-0 (23:30.604)
Is it a certain content creator maybe?
speaker-1 (23:33.41)
It wasn't what they're reading.
speaker-3 (23:34.67)
I'm not like I'm not into like other content creators or stuff like that because I'm like I know
speaker-1 (23:37.262)
don't know you're...
speaker-0 (23:41.23)
You don't have to say it anymore. This dude already-
speaker-2 (23:43.146)
My sources tell me
speaker-1 (23:45.88)
Yeah.
speaker-3 (23:46.988)
Don't you start with that. You know, I don't watch that bull crap. Nobody watch that cock out here,
speaker-2 (23:53.4)
think that's how I'm gonna start running my vodka.
speaker-0 (23:55.766)
okay so it's not the raiders that are saying the mensworth i just wanted to clear
speaker-3 (23:59.662)
The Raiders were like, you know, from what I hear is Q Myers came out and said as well on his show. He's like, he's not here to be a mentor. He's here to come in here and win games and grab the bull by the horn and try to make this team a play or a playoff team, competitive team.
speaker-1 (24:14.936)
blame
Can you play him? Can you play him? He doesn't want to go out there and bomb. No. player wants to go out there and shit the bed on the field? Of course he wants to go out there and be the best he can. Right? Am I wrong?
speaker-2 (24:30.638)
He's coming to play. He's coming to play. He's coming to hopefully get another contract with another team after this season and he would Another contract yeah another guaranteed contract he's he's not coming in specifically to mentor But just his actions and being there what he does is gonna is gonna mentor. Yeah, you know what mean? So He's coming to play. He's not coming to hold the clip
speaker-1 (24:38.646)
is
speaker-0 (24:55.81)
Tearful now, you're gonna piss people off brother. I'm warning you about that side of YouTube right now, you're gonna piss people off.
speaker-1 (25:03.95)
And I did hear some misinformation yesterday on another show.
speaker-0 (25:09.788)
I'm gonna watch that interview. Okay.
speaker-1 (25:11.554)
pertaining to Cousin's contract. So.
speaker-2 (25:16.504)
Genius, by the way.
speaker-1 (25:18.062)
All right, I covered this last week on our show. You know how much he's getting paid and everything. The money's not the issue. That 10 mil that we would have to pay him next year kicks in after the third day of the 2027 season. So day one comes, we can cut him and we don't pay him anything. If he's still here by day three, we have to pay him the 10 mil. If he's here by day five, his full contract kicks in that 80 something million that's left.
Alright, so it's Dave.
speaker-0 (25:50.24)
sure the risk can cut him day one and not pay him and it's not guaranteed
speaker-1 (25:53.132)
We can cut him day one or day two. If he's here on at the end of day three, we own the 10 mil. If he's here.
speaker-0 (26:01.442)
You didn't verbally agree to give him that 10 mil?
speaker-1 (26:04.332)
No, not based on this actual written contract that was signed, the way the contracts were.
speaker-0 (26:10.002)
You saw the contract? You saw the contract?
speaker-1 (26:11.84)
Uh-huh. Let's see the physical contract, but that's the verbiage that's coming out of it. That's what...
speaker-0 (26:17.838)
Where did see the verbiage is my question.
speaker-3 (26:21.07)
My understanding was that we're giving them 10 million dollars.
speaker-0 (26:25.123)
BOOM!
speaker-2 (26:25.577)
Leo, Leo's snipping it!
speaker-3 (26:28.654)
Jeff, so my understanding on the Burbage was that he is guaranteed those $10 million dollars. We're only giving $1.3 million dollars in base
speaker-0 (26:45.602)
Thank you. Okay.
speaker-2 (26:53.87)
Basically an $11 million contract, our cap hits only going to be like 1 point something.
speaker-1 (26:59.897)
Yeah.
speaker-0 (27:00.782)
Because a lot of the confusion is people think we don't have to give him that 10 mil.
speaker-0 (27:08.12)
That's why I was being snippy because you were saying the opposite.
speaker-3 (27:13.602)
Why don't you just cut the tape?
speaker-1 (27:15.362)
the
speaker-2 (27:16.654)
Will, will, we all made some ice cream.
speaker-0 (27:18.914)
that
speaker-2 (27:25.358)
it that way?
speaker-1 (27:27.532)
the
speaker-0 (27:30.882)
Yeah
Bro, you don't know who Ambrathio Harris' coach?
long time bro she started with a lot of the rater shows yeah
speaker-1 (27:39.128)
What the hell?
speaker-2 (27:41.646)
a lot of
speaker-2 (27:46.36)
Can't remember what show it was yesterday. It could have been Silver and Black or something like that. She does Silver and Black, that's why. You could find it on YouTube. Does she have the interview with Kirk Cousins?
speaker-0 (27:56.224)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so it is
speaker-1 (27:59.374)
the
speaker-3 (28:06.783)
He did
speaker-0 (28:11.404)
Saw the interview on the Raiders.com page.
speaker-3 (28:14.69)
Yep. No, he said it. that's that's all right. I'll be like a coach is supposed to teach, not another player.
speaker-0 (28:17.88)
Yeah.
speaker-0 (28:22.028)
And that's exactly what KubiEx said then.
speaker-1 (28:25.134)
I like this guy.
speaker-0 (28:26.91)
Because Jeff, it was just basically because a lot of people are under the assumption we can get out of that 10 mil. I'm like, no, this is guaranteed to him. And it's smart because it doesn't count against the cap, which is. Yeah, bonus, exactly.
speaker-2 (28:40.47)
Yeah, it's a bonus.
speaker-3 (28:44.582)
But here's the thing, man. With this move, Raider Man, you're saying that the draft is going to be better next year. I heard that shit this year. This draft was supposed to This year's was supposed to be better. You got to pull the trigger when you got to pull the trigger, man.
speaker-0 (28:56.846)
Zip!
speaker-0 (29:02.542)
Big Glick is funny. Ain't no one.
speaker-2 (29:05.394)
Every way I look at it every single draft has players man You cannot just overlook any single draft you can get solid players starters pro bowlers on your team I don't care what they they could say this is not the strongest draft, but you you can get guys in this draft So can't over you can't overlook it and say next year is gonna be better
speaker-1 (29:22.702)
We're gonna be doing that for a few minutes.
speaker-0 (29:29.838)
I looked up a draft
speaker-1 (29:30.381)
I've been...
speaker-2 (29:41.39)
Are you trying to tell me there's zero guys that are going to be pro bowlers that come out of this draft?
speaker-0 (29:47.374)
It can't happen. So it's funny you bring that up because I started doing these little AI videos to not get away from this so much. One of the next ones I'm doing is has there ever been a first round where the majority of the first rounders were all. Did it meet expectations or bus? And it actually has happened one year, which is crazy. When you look at the name of the players and if you remember during that time, you're like, damn, everybody keeps saying what a dog this guy was. Right.
and he was going to ball out of the NFL. Yeah, I know. But it's rare. It's rare that that happens. You're right, Steven. But it did happen in one.
speaker-3 (30:25.77)
It was there, you know.
speaker-0 (30:27.438)
for the video bro.
speaker-3 (30:30.464)
up the earth bro with your AI videos yeah I'm trying to save the earth
speaker-2 (30:35.695)
Yeah, Did you you read that from a Facebook post?
speaker-0 (30:38.998)
I did not read him. that's where the idea came from because somebody said what you were kind of saying, like every draft has superstars in every first round. no matter who the Raiders take.
speaker-2 (30:50.924)
I didn't mean first round in general. I meant the draft in general.
speaker-0 (30:54.604)
No, the draft in general, you're right. it's so long. could find this max is in the first round or max was there.
speaker-2 (30:59.47)
the
speaker-0 (31:02.126)
was a fifth rounder y'all like but I think
speaker-1 (31:05.4)
We're already last pick in the draft. One pick away from being undrafted free agent.
speaker-0 (31:07.403)
Right.
speaker-2 (31:13.42)
I can't worry about next year. I'm worried about this year's draft. I'm worried about getting guys that are going to help this team this year. I worry about it.
speaker-1 (31:20.962)
the
speaker-0 (31:27.406)
Is Mendoza gonna be a hero are those two guys gonna be pro bowlers
speaker-1 (31:32.214)
or probably
speaker-3 (31:36.141)
Probably.
speaker-1 (31:37.966)
Every draft picks probably going to be a purple ball and not everyone is.
speaker-3 (31:42.272)
You know what? And that's the thing. Good GMs turn those probabilities into a real high maybe or a likely. It's likely that we're going to get a pro bowler.
speaker-0 (31:54.432)
GMs are the coaching staff in situations these players want.
speaker-1 (31:58.307)
Thank you.
speaker-2 (31:58.69)
the organization in general.
speaker-3 (32:00.046)
It's a combination and you're right, Chito. And I'm right there with you. It's a whole organization. You have to have good scouts, good GMs and good coaches that all work together and have the same vision. They all have to know what they're looking for in a player. They have to be able to identify weaknesses within their scheme and within their team.
I'd be like the best GMs and the best coaches are the ones that are able to identify all the weaknesses within your organization. Because noticing all the strengths is easy. People are quick to say how good you are at certain things, but they don't and they'll tell you how bad you are at certain things, but they can't tell you how to get better. You know what I mean?
speaker-0 (32:44.353)
Yeah.
Tell you things you can do to get better, right? But they can't do it for you. Tyree, Tyree is a prime example. All the physical ability, the height, all that, right? Coach, he's had Robbie Leonard who say what you want. Look at what he's done with our D line. When Max gets hurt, Jason came out of nowhere, snowed and started playing, right? Like dudes have come up even this year, Pekese, right? yeah. Rolando McClain.
speaker-3 (32:52.238)
Yeah.
speaker-0 (33:15.864)
Here the things with Tyree like Tyree's been coach well. Carol or not, Robbie Leonard has been here. You're telling me this is the only lineman that can't seem to get it together at what?
speaker-2 (33:26.68)
And I don't you know, it's not always the organization. Sometimes it is the player to. Yeah. Jamar Jamarcus Russell. I don't think that was an organ. I think that's a player that was an organization. Well.
speaker-1 (33:39.192)
the
speaker-0 (33:41.358)
I didn't do him no favors in the situation.
speaker-2 (33:44.376)
We didn't help
speaker-0 (33:45.858)
Yeah, we-
speaker-2 (33:48.366)
I think he was going to turn out that way, no matter where he went.
speaker-0 (33:52.78)
Is there a five here?
speaker-3 (33:53.87)
I don't know. So I'll tell you like this, right? Because there's certain types of coaches. There's dudes bro that laid down the law and they're super strict. We just didn't have the right support system around to Marcus Russell. First of all, if you already given him tape and you know he's not watching tape, why are you playing him?
speaker-0 (34:15.277)
Not only that, but you didn't want him to begin with. I think Kiffin kinda in a way went out of his way to show people why I didn't want him. know, instead, I guess maybe in my eyes, instead of shaming you for the tape situation, make it a learning experience. Like, bro, I sent you this tape. I know you haven't watched it. You can't be like that.
speaker-0 (34:38.453)
No one ever gave him a second chance.
speaker-3 (34:40.294)
Bro, after you do that and you're the number one pick of their franchise and they figure out that you were sitting there drinking codeine, having house parties, and they ask you to watch film as the leader of the fucking team and you get a blank tape and you tell the coach straight up lie to his face. Bro, nobody is going to trust you with their organization ever again.
speaker-2 (35:01.932)
I mean, probably Murray just plays video games and he got a second chance.
speaker-0 (35:13.742)
Well, they got that from the trademark thing, but yeah.
speaker-2 (35:19.01)
But yes, think a lot of time, a lot of the times it's the organization. But I think sometimes it is the players.
speaker-1 (35:25.523)
Yeah, Jermon Trussell is perfect example of the player.
speaker-0 (35:28.138)
If you think about it though, this is why I think makes Mendoza such a QB that Raider Nation and fans want because he's the complete opposite of what Russell was. You know, he shows the hard work. shows.
speaker-3 (35:38.286)
Yes.
speaker-0 (35:44.27)
a better situation. Yeah. Yeah.
speaker-1 (35:48.238)
Would we draft Seabass again? Absolutely not.
speaker-0 (35:51.724)
No, I would not. And the sad part, he's one of the few successful first round draft picks we've had. He's a fucking kicker. Yeah.
speaker-1 (36:02.784)
Hey Steve, there's a guy that actually almost wasn't a pro-boa.
speaker-0 (36:07.854)
that's right. I remember when you brought that stat.
speaker-1 (36:10.574)
Do you know how many Pro Bulls he's been in?
speaker-2 (36:13.965)
Who's seat backs?
speaker-0 (36:15.01)
Yeah, take a guess.
speaker-2 (36:18.21)
Did he? Did he not make one?
speaker-3 (36:21.611)
One, I thought he made
speaker-0 (36:35.758)
but he can kick the shit out of that ball.
speaker-2 (36:40.174)
He could do it drunk.
speaker-0 (36:43.214)
And Steven and from the dirt
If you remember Oakland, from the dirt was the thing, y'all. From the dirt?
speaker-2 (36:57.342)
Could you imagine if we were in Vegas at that time? See, that's what we've done.
speaker-0 (37:02.35)
man,
speaker-2 (37:05.006)
You're the one missing
speaker-1 (37:05.582)
the
speaker-0 (37:13.708)
I would be watching a sea bass documentary like the Lamar
Thanks. Jesus.
speaker-1 (37:45.742)
He's spending one of his greatest days of his life with who he wants to be with. And that's his mom and the rest of his family and his hot on. I'm sure he's see her in the stands a lot more. So he's spending it with family. I know some people were reacting to it. I've seen in some of the chats where they're like, I can't believe he's not going. Okay.
speaker-0 (37:53.72)
Marcus Russell never.
speaker-0 (38:09.91)
No, have you seen the page called 32 dive? These fuckers went on to say that the Raiders were looking into Diego Pavia because Mendoza is not going to
speaker-3 (38:13.164)
the
speaker-3 (38:22.658)
Bro this is ridiculous bro
speaker-0 (38:25.184)
That's we live in, Jeff.
speaker-1 (38:25.518)
It's the bullshit!
speaker-3 (38:29.312)
It's because he was on
speaker-0 (38:39.938)
Right?
speaker-3 (38:40.438)
Bruton Grinder
speaker-0 (38:43.22)
hand.
I'm with you though, man.
speaker-3 (38:48.142)
It's because he went on that show with Gruden, but I'm with you right there Jeff Let's be honest if you go to the draft you want to be and get drafted and have that day you want to be around the most important people in your life and I know probably most of you all here My mama is my most important person in my life, bro, besides my wife and my family, know immediate But my mama has been number one in my corner since a one day one
And I'll be like, since the day I came out the womb. I am bro.
speaker-1 (39:18.446)
the
speaker-0 (39:19.534)
.
speaker-3 (39:24.376)
Say right here. I say something to my mama. like, it's home. I don't give a damn. I like, but when it's my mama, you know, I'm like, bro, you want to be with her in that time. If your name gets called, there's no more important person on this planet than the two people that gave you life to share that opportunity with. Because guess what? They took you to fucking practice. They took you to all those things that you sat there and they went through it with you.
So of course you want to be with your parents and shame on those people that want him there because they want him there for themselves and about them private stuff. Fuck that shit.
speaker-0 (40:02.688)
Boy, I saw people wishing because they're paying all this money to go to Pittsburgh and he's not going to be there. Yeah.
speaker-3 (40:10.254)
I'm too!
speaker-1 (40:10.382)
That's Bro, that's not gonna kill-
speaker-2 (40:12.116)
I'm watching it on TV so, Cameron in room with Mendoza is not gonna be any different to me than him being on stage.
speaker-1 (40:15.266)
like
speaker-0 (40:20.61)
days.
speaker-3 (40:21.484)
He walks across the stage. Guess what? You're still not going to be able to get his attention. You're only going to see him for a quick second walk across the stage and he's going to go about his fucking business.
speaker-0 (40:31.608)
Yeah.
I think the funny part for me is probably the biggest mama's boy in all of YouTube is I would do the same. I was I missed our meeting Tbh meeting because I was with my mom. I told you guys I might not make today's show because I was with my mom. Right. Yeah. So I totally understand. I think it's just funny how some people take it a different way. I guess the only thing in question I would ask you guys is.
speaker-1 (40:58.254)
Okay.
speaker-0 (41:03.886)
If I'm a draft prospect, right isn't there something though about going up to the podium and being announced as the number one guy? Like going up there with your jersey Shaking bitch ass Godel's hand, you know, whatever or whoever's gonna greet you from the Raiders, right? Whoever's gonna greet you and there's just something about that But but I understand the reason why he's missing that is his mom can't make it He'd rather share that moment with his mother. So I told you
I totally respect that. I do. There's just something to be said about missing that moment. You know, that draft day moment when you hit your name number one and you walk up to the podium, you know, I saw when Caleb got to experience that in Detroit, you know, you could see on his face like, bro, I'm the one like, what the hell? Right. So, so, so that part, think he'll probably miss. I know some people are saying, and he's doing it to get back at the commissioner because he's a Raider now.
speaker-1 (41:59.5)
No, please. People really.
speaker-3 (41:59.788)
my god.
speaker-0 (42:03.138)
Do be reading into what are they called? T-lead? Like Jesus Christ, but now I'm cool with them. I don't see no problem with them staying home with me.
speaker-1 (42:05.23)
Like...
speaker-1 (42:12.91)
We started the show I said it in the the in the studio before we started I see you you have people out there You know doing YouTube videos like that's the right away when since when is that the right away to not show up at the trap I mean what you know he's such a great guy all right? I'm a little bit you know I mean because the higher you put him up on that pedestal if something goes bad And he just is not the guy who I think she is
speaker-0 (42:28.45)
Maybe they end up aspect of it. Maybe the.
speaker-1 (42:40.962)
That's a big fall from where you all have him hyped. know, just lower the expectations a little bit. Don't put so much pressure on this kid. Everybody's expecting him to come in and just win from day one. If he does, great, I'm all on board. You know, but it's
speaker-0 (42:55.599)
And if he doesn't will you be just as happy that they were you were right? And if he doesn't succeed from the day one will you be just as happy because you were right?
speaker-1 (42:59.15)
Say that again?
speaker-1 (43:05.132)
No, no, I actually will be pissed because that will piss me off more than anything because now I'll really be pissed because we didn't do what we could have done with that number one pick and I think we would have wasted it at that point. That's why I'd be pissed at. I wouldn't be mad at him. I wouldn't be mad at anybody else other than the organization for not doing something different with that number one pick because that's a wasted pick at that point. You might as well, why'd you even bother drafting?
speaker-0 (43:29.366)
I'll tell you what somebody told me.
speaker-1 (43:31.464)
Turn the lights off on day one and not even bother picking up the phone to dial in who would take it.
speaker-0 (43:36.236)
The Jeff go work for the Raiders already since you know all the answers
speaker-1 (43:43.701)
I'm sorry, I just wanted to it real. Jesus Christ.
speaker-0 (43:46.35)
I got told this too like a couple hours ago because I said exactly what you're Like, dude, like I value that's all I see. I think the saddest part, Jeff, about all that and the expectations, it's not even about the kid himself. People think when we say it's because we don't like Mendoza, we don't want Mendoza or for whatever, right? It has nothing to do with
speaker-1 (43:55.054)
Ready?
speaker-0 (44:13.998)
as a player. Well, for me anyway, it has nothing to do with for him as a player. but it's just more with like thinking outside value wise, which you could get if it was there. Right. I'm not going to cry if on the 23rd they cry. They say his name out. I'm not going to be mad. You know, it's like, okay, that's what we're expecting. Time to get to work. I think what makes it sad though, is when you get those responses from fans or people, it kind of makes you like, oh, this is why people don't like the kid.
Because you motherfuckers get to this extreme about it, right? Yeah. And to me, that sucks because I don't have anything against the kid. really don't. Other than his quirkiness, if you will, you know.
speaker-1 (44:53.718)
the the
speaker-2 (45:04.46)
I mean, it's not his fault.
speaker-0 (45:06.422)
So I got my points in, it's not his fault.
speaker-2 (45:23.566)
We're back.
speaker-1 (45:25.889)
I wanted to
speaker-3 (45:26.442)
layoffs all of a sudden.
speaker-2 (45:28.12)
the
speaker-0 (45:34.294)
We've seen our rivals get one, right Steve? And we've our rivals get one and make it to the Super Bowl and the playoffs with them. Mahomes, Nicks, right? You see your rivals draft one, yeah.
speaker-1 (45:41.389)
Pepper.
speaker-1 (45:47.736)
Fault is-
speaker-2 (45:48.182)
the
speaker-0 (45:52.462)
right we pass on CJ shroud because McDaniels they don't want to pull the trigger
speaker-3 (46:00.398)
that Let me ask you guys this, with all this added pressure of him having this, is that gonna make it any better for Raider Nation? mean, like this kid is getting so much pressure just because he's the number one pick that he's supposed to take us to this promised land. He's the guy that's gonna put this team on his back because he was efficient in college.
speaker-1 (46:18.997)
Let's eat.
speaker-3 (46:26.252)
and did it at the college level. Now he's going to be able to transfer it to the pro level and immediate because people are not even talking about, you know, waiting two or three years. They're like, man, he's going to kick us to the playoffs next year. I'm like, what the fuck? They've been playing. Yeah, Jim Mora.
speaker-0 (46:47.95)
Super cool.
speaker-1 (46:48.27)
the
speaker-2 (46:52.91)
Those are the people that come every season and say, we're going to the Super Bowl. mean, you got to be real. There's a reason why we brought in Cousins. They're going to bring Mendoza along slowly. think the only way you see Mendoza, I think the only way you see Mendoza week one is if he just somehow in training camp just goes off, looks completely better than Cousins and they have no choice but to start him. But I really think they're going to ease him slow.
speaker-0 (46:58.786)
Yeah.
speaker-2 (47:22.582)
And they don't want to break this kid. They don't want to have another Jamarcus Russell or these guys that didn't make it with the first team and then make it later on with another team just because we didn't take time and develop them. just let, let the kid get sack, let the guy throw interceptions and just throw them to the wolves. They're, they're doing everything the right way right now. And if people are expecting them to be a playoff team next year, you guys, you're delusional. not saying it can't happen.
With cousins, I'm not saying that cousins can't come in and win a bunch of games for us, but I wouldn't go to Vegas right now and put my money down saying that they're going to. I see this team being improved. But if you think Mendoza is gonna get drafted and just come right in and we're going to the promised land, like the Jets said about Gino, probably be disappointed.
speaker-2 (48:20.142)
The coach the coach said that about Gino said that Gino's gonna take us to the promised land
speaker-1 (48:25.26)
Yeah, that's hilarious.
speaker-0 (48:27.084)
I mean, as a coach, that's what you say. As a player, you want to hear that from your coach, right? Like, I don't want to hear like, I hope you don't fuck up like you did in Vegas.
speaker-1 (48:38.562)
You know, yeah, Jeff the project projected number one pick was a dn or a left tackle with as much hype as mendoza
speaker-0 (48:46.549)
A great
speaker-1 (48:49.464)
the
speaker-0 (48:53.164)
You what?
speaker-0 (48:58.414)
at number one.
speaker-3 (49:00.962)
Wow, you're such a-
speaker-0 (49:02.156)
You want to be crying about value? You can get two players for number one. You wouldn't be crying about any of that.
speaker-1 (49:10.7)
Because I don't think he's worth the number one pick.
speaker-0 (49:13.078)
So for you, it is about Mendoza.
speaker-3 (49:16.11)
So but so let's
speaker-1 (49:17.486)
That's not the true number one value at number one! Netplayer!
speaker-0 (49:20.426)
What do you think then is worth getting drafted one overall? Who's saying-
speaker-1 (49:26.345)
Living on
In all honesty, if Mendoza wasn't there, I honestly think the number one pick, census number one overall would probably be Jordan Love, Jeremiah Love, I keep saying Jordan. Because I think he's the most talented on this, it's him or Caleb Downs, he's a safety, that's a tough one. That's a tough one, but pure talent, he's up there, but Jeremiah Love would probably be the number one.
speaker-0 (49:36.376)
would be considered.
speaker-1 (49:57.878)
And at that point, if we were picking the board and he's the consensus number one overall, guess what? We're not going to take them. We don't need them.
speaker-2 (50:04.17)
If you have the number one pick and you need a quarterback and Fernando is the best quarterback in the draft, that's who you have to go after. There's no guarantee next year you're going to get your, when are we ever going to get our quarterback?
speaker-0 (50:17.821)
All right.
speaker-3 (50:18.604)
next year. Well, we'll we'll
speaker-2 (50:21.358)
and then next year they're gonna say next year's better.
speaker-0 (50:24.428)
the college football fanatic of the group and you say next year I'm gonna tell you something that lingo is gonna change because of NIL and how long these kids are staying in college. No who's gonna come out next year Arch was supposed to be coming out this year.
speaker-1 (50:35.309)
You don't
speaker-0 (50:42.434)
How'd that plan go?
speaker-2 (50:44.0)
Right now that's all everybody's talking about is Archmanny, Archmanny, Archmanny.
speaker-0 (50:47.966)
And our shooting come out on on Fuego when he started playing either. No, there were questions about it. shit. This kid needs work. This kid needs time. Right. So I get the next year thing like I really do because of the names that are out there. But like I think to you what you're saying, Steven, you don't know who's going to be out there next year. Because if you're in a position to take that guy, then you should if you believe in him. Yeah.
speaker-2 (51:16.086)
We have the number one pick this year. You pick your guy, you don't give up any picks to move up to get a guy. You just, go, you get him, you him, that's it. Next year, most likely we would have to give up a bunch of first round draft picks to move up to get a guy, whoever it'll be. So just get your guy. think Mendoza is going to be a serviceable quarterback in this league.
speaker-1 (51:37.898)
See ya!
speaker-2 (51:38.99)
I don't I don't mean I know what I just said I know what I just said I didn't mean
speaker-1 (51:42.018)
the
speaker-0 (51:50.07)
Hahaha
speaker-2 (51:51.246)
His is, but I can't, I can't see. I can't see here. Guarantee. I can't see here. Guarantee. He's going to go and win us a super. We don't know. We don't know. We don't know. I, I like what I seen him do in college. I think he's going to be a really good quarterback in this league, but I don't know. I don't know if he's going to be generational. I don't know if he's going to be a pro bowler.
speaker-1 (51:54.528)
I can't
speaker-1 (52:02.499)
What?
speaker-0 (52:02.894)
I'm glad you
speaker-2 (52:20.96)
he needs to be he's gonna have to be I mean we're we're taking a chance with him with the first pick we would need him to go win us a Super Bowl in the future but we don't know
speaker-1 (52:30.286)
that
speaker-0 (52:32.046)
Is the juice worth the squeeze with Mendoza? Like even if you don't think he's generational or if you don't think he's more than mediocre, you think he's somewhere in between? Do you think it's worth it taking that risk if you end up finding your quarterback?
speaker-2 (52:52.43)
Absolutely. I don't think it's a I don't even think it's a risk taking Mendoza. OK, number one. Any quarterback you draft, even if we wait till next year and all these guys are supposed to be coming out, we don't know what they're going to be. We don't know Arch Manning is going to come out and be anything like his uncles or anything like that. We we don't know. There's so many guys that have come out of the draft that we thought were going to be say all be all in the league and they they disappeared.
There were nothing. And then we've seen so many guys that were drafted later that turn out to be good. You get your guy. I like Mendoza, but I can't, I'm not going to sit here right now on this podcast and say, this guy is absolutely going to go win us a super. Let's let, let's let our coaches and this organization build this kid up and teach them how to do things. then hopefully in the future, we are going to be winning a super bowl.
speaker-1 (53:33.784)
Well, you
speaker-0 (53:34.357)
the
speaker-0 (53:47.566)
You guys find this guy with all this logic Jesus Christ y'all don't follow him go follow him right now god damn it Rick said it right here
speaker-1 (53:54.926)
the
speaker-0 (54:07.31)
I saw it. I saw it also. It was after his pro day, think with an NFL person. Yeah.
speaker-1 (54:14.158)
the
speaker-0 (54:21.41)
i like how you say s-a-c because if you read it out it's a kind of source i read it out loud in my
speaker-2 (54:26.062)
Yeah. That's why everybody calls Sacramento. hear Sac, Sac Tang.
speaker-0 (54:32.77)
Hey, I'm a Laker. I understand you Sacramento or different so We've had this discussion on the phone my guy
speaker-2 (54:37.966)
the
speaker-3 (54:47.074)
Josh Allen started the draft.
speaker-0 (54:50.772)
Alan had haters, my home had haters before.
speaker-3 (54:53.038)
I'm out of players
speaker-3 (55:00.334)
You're fucking high if you think that dude's gonna fucking possibly around bro, and if you're thinking a general
speaker-1 (55:07.276)
I'll be shocked.
speaker-0 (55:10.572)
I don't think he makes the past time
speaker-1 (55:13.794)
Well, who else is going to take them? Jetson.
speaker-0 (55:17.356)
So why aren't the Jets taking him if he's number one?
speaker-1 (55:21.91)
they still have Breece Hall. Why would they just resign Breece Hall? Why would they bring in another runner back?
speaker-0 (55:27.234)
you
speaker-3 (55:27.81)
Does this guy have Patrick Mahomes on his profile?
speaker-0 (55:32.374)
I don't know. can't tell who that is.
speaker-1 (55:34.254)
no, might be Mendoza.
speaker-0 (55:37.016)
Might be Mendoza.
speaker-3 (55:39.128)
Yeah
speaker-1 (55:39.768)
that is because the signature looks like FM
speaker-3 (55:44.13)
But I'd be like, why would a running back be stupid in the first round?
speaker-2 (55:48.379)
I disagree. We took Gentie last year. think he's going to be great.
speaker-3 (55:53.39)
I'd be like, it relieves pressure off a rookie quarterback. If you don't have a running game, you can't really set up a pass game. It relieves a lot of stress off your offensive lineman. It gets them to attack them going forward. So tell me why a running back is a bad thing.
speaker-0 (56:07.758)
If you had a choice, would you get your running back first or your quarterback first?
speaker-3 (56:13.176)
Good question.
speaker-2 (56:16.056)
best player available.
speaker-1 (56:19.98)
you watch my AI video
speaker-3 (56:23.914)
It's that if you have a quarterback that's 1A and a running back that's 1B, you know, like right now we don't have a clear number one, right? According to everybody and their mother.
speaker-0 (56:36.152)
What do mean we don't have a clear number one? We have a number one.
speaker-3 (56:38.126)
And open does it not be? know, okay. Let's say in this draft you had a really good quarterback and a really good running back that were considered both in this at that same elite level to be the number one. Who do you go with? Do you draft the running back or do you draft quarter?
speaker-1 (56:41.934)
I could have one of that.
speaker-2 (56:57.184)
If you need a quarterback and you got a great quarterback sitting there in the draft and a great running back, you're going you got to go quarterback in my opinion.
speaker-1 (57:04.526)
Thanks, Rick. You got a new sub on Rick.
speaker-3 (57:08.066)
Yes, sir. Thank you.
speaker-0 (57:09.218)
court.
speaker-2 (57:09.4)
quarterback as much as you need a running back, a quarterback is most important player on the team.
speaker-0 (57:15.246)
Yeah, and over the years the running back position has been devalued, you know Because the notion of taking a running back in the first round. Why would you do that? There's so many back in our day, right Jeffrey? You took running backs in the first fucking round Barry Sanders Emmett Smith bro, like Adrian P Walker, you know all Tony Dorsett like you took these guys in the first round cuz
speaker-1 (57:30.03)
I an
speaker-1 (57:33.422)
the
speaker-0 (57:43.308)
Running backs were the big difference back then.
speaker-3 (57:47.489)
No, absolutely.
speaker-0 (57:49.102)
Yeah.
speaker-2 (57:51.374)
still think you need a good one though. I know they try to devalue that position but look what happened once we let once we let Jacobs go. I mean we definitely still you still need a running back in this league.
speaker-1 (58:03.704)
But they're not highly valued like they used to be.
speaker-0 (58:07.35)
No.
speaker-2 (58:08.152)
Which to me is crazy.
speaker-1 (58:10.006)
It's a passing game as well.
speaker-0 (58:11.468)
To me as a fan of football, hate it because running backs is still one of my favorite positions. Yeah. That's always my favorite player on the Raiders normally is the running back.
speaker-2 (58:15.49)
Yeah, I love the
speaker-1 (58:22.702)
I don't know what
speaker-2 (58:23.246)
fantasy footballs turned into all those PPR leagues. When fantasy football first came out, running backs were gold. Now everything is PPR.
speaker-0 (58:26.956)
Yeah.
speaker-1 (58:43.577)
the what type of game plan we run with cousins at the start up. Because with Mendoza, if Mendoza started, I would have thought that we'd be like a happy run team for us.
speaker-0 (58:57.038)
I don't see a changing with CUT
speaker-3 (58:58.414)
don't see a change in either.
speaker-2 (58:59.406)
I think we're still going to be a heavy run.
speaker-1 (59:02.382)
mean, a heavy run team, I think you're going to see a lot more passing options with him because of just the type of quarterback he is and knowing the system as well as he does already.
speaker-0 (59:10.744)
Do you remember when he was at Minnesota? It wasn't like he was airing it out all the time. He was sure primarily run first. Yeah.
speaker-2 (59:18.51)
Kobyak likes
speaker-1 (59:19.138)
the
speaker-0 (59:26.222)
Good one, Eric. Good one, Eric. Eric Dickerson's another one. Yeah.
speaker-1 (59:33.25)
Well, with the talk of throwing the ball,
speaker-0 (59:37.07)
Whoa, what? Look, he's a key piece to a team that needs a QB Chargers. Chargers have Herbert Rams. They have Stafford Vikings. Yeah, Vikings in the quarterback. Colts need a quarterback. Atlanta.
speaker-3 (59:40.78)
Dozena is here.
speaker-1 (59:53.484)
Yeah, but the Rams don't have staff at four. He's an older dude,
speaker-0 (59:57.314)
Hey, how long did Brady play for Stafford?
speaker-1 (01:00:00.206)
Also Brady wasn't taking the beat it's like staff it's been taken and being Brady hardly ever got injured to be honest
speaker-2 (01:00:06.542)
Is he saying Mendoza is not a leader?
speaker-3 (01:00:09.477)
That's what I'm
speaker-1 (01:00:10.07)
in what world
speaker-2 (01:00:11.854)
world is Mendoza not a leader. That's one of his biggest attributes.
speaker-0 (01:00:17.294)
Before we get into it I say the charges have Herbert and we start saying Herbert sucks I understand he's lost the playoff game, but tell me reader fans wouldn't love to have quarterback As Justin Herbert fucking years, right? So before we get all high and mighty about Herbert sucks Raider fans would have been lucky to even have a quarterback. yeah, that was as me
speaker-1 (01:00:25.84)
even as minimal
speaker-1 (01:00:36.536)
the
speaker-3 (01:00:40.564)
As Justin Herbert bid.
speaker-0 (01:00:42.722)
Well, people say that because he's never won a playoff game.
speaker-3 (01:00:45.154)
Just because you don't win a playoff game, do we forget that this is a team game? That there's 22 dudes on that fucking field every fucking game? That's the problem. I'm like, bro, like if Justin Herbert is a fucking scrub, then what the fuck are we looking at?
speaker-2 (01:01:01.868)
There's a ton of teams in the NFL right now that would get rid of their quarterback for her.
speaker-0 (01:01:06.594)
Got ya!
speaker-1 (01:01:08.888)
So this is a good question and I know I can answer this one. Who was a better value? Trevian Henderson. Lordy Lord.
speaker-0 (01:01:13.616)
lord lord lord
speaker-3 (01:01:16.876)
value
speaker-0 (01:01:17.838)
Why are you bringing this up right now?
speaker-1 (01:01:18.242)
BRO!
speaker-3 (01:01:20.974)
Is it about value though?
speaker-2 (01:01:24.514)
Yeah. How else can you?
speaker-0 (01:01:26.904)
Judge you.
speaker-3 (01:01:27.278)
Because I'd be like, here's the thing, are these guys, they are not, they don't get to pick where they get selected, right?
speaker-0 (01:01:35.254)
No.
speaker-1 (01:01:36.878)
the question value and this is not gente
speaker-0 (01:01:38.446)
But I'm like-
speaker-3 (01:01:42.294)
At the moment.
At the moment is going to betray it, betray von Henderson because you're going to see all his stats, right?
speaker-0 (01:01:51.17)
Why is his value better?
speaker-3 (01:01:52.832)
at the moment because of his debts, because of his production.
speaker-0 (01:01:56.27)
What position was he drafted at?
speaker-3 (01:02:00.162)
That was enough.
speaker-1 (01:02:01.471)
Second round, think it was.
speaker-0 (01:02:02.923)
around. Yeah.
speaker-3 (01:02:04.728)
But I'd be like.
speaker-1 (01:02:05.826)
For the record, I will say this, that's who I wanted instead of Genthe. I want us to go all-line with that first pick.
speaker-0 (01:02:12.27)
Jeff wants to
speaker-3 (01:02:13.652)
Let's go online with every person!
speaker-1 (01:02:15.576)
Am I wrong based on what we had last year for offensive line? Am I wrong?
speaker-0 (01:02:21.152)
Well considering today no matter who we had because the coaches suck
speaker-1 (01:02:23.147)
Am I right?
speaker-2 (01:02:26.35)
the
speaker-1 (01:02:31.822)
Here's the thing. Now you would have already had that piece for this year at this point. You know what I'm saying? We would have had the offensive lineman last year. Yes, it didn't work out because of the offensive coaching was so goddamn awful that everybody on that old line regressed. But you drafted a guy number with your first pick overall. You bring them over this year now with a whole new regime, a whole different scheme, a better offensive, a way, way better offensive line coach.
speaker-0 (01:03:00.622)
How is it better if we only added one guy though?
speaker-1 (01:03:03.918)
the offensive line coach. said, it's better.
speaker-0 (01:03:07.854)
We're hoping it is.
speaker-3 (01:03:09.496)
That right.
speaker-1 (01:03:10.83)
the
speaker-0 (01:03:13.89)
People said that about Pete Kerr.
speaker-0 (01:03:32.021)
I will
speaker-0 (01:03:42.687)
Anyone being healthy,
If any one of those five starters wherever they are gets hurt then the death starts to be like shit This dude's gonna come in right? Yeah
speaker-2 (01:03:56.288)
I worry more about them because of their history these last couple seasons. If somebody else gets hurt, they got an injury. But these guys, we're relying on them. We're expecting JPJ and Colton Miller to be the starters and this line is going to be better, this and that. But they also haven't proven to stay healthy these last couple of seasons. So that's my worry.
speaker-1 (01:04:18.126)
the
speaker-0 (01:04:26.592)
Are there any?
speaker-2 (01:04:27.636)
And we have a fullback again, which is good.
speaker-1 (01:04:29.87)
That's the bonus Yeah, you you think about it like those days of you know a single like Barry Sanders being the only ball carrier Emmett Smith or you know Marshall for those days of those days Eric Dickerson yeah Marcus at Mall Marcus still had a fullback to sometimes But still those days of just one running back carrying 99.9 percent of the time. It's been a two-back system
speaker-0 (01:04:42.798)
See you guys.
speaker-0 (01:04:56.021)
Derrick Henry?
speaker-1 (01:05:00.756)
He was a, he's a physical specimen and all that.
speaker-3 (01:05:03.052)
But good. Hey, he's still in the league.
speaker-1 (01:05:05.154)
the
speaker-3 (01:05:12.398)
Thank you, Barbara.
speaker-3 (01:05:17.09)
Dane and I
speaker-0 (01:05:19.522)
You have Brad.
speaker-0 (01:05:34.99)
Yeah.
speaker-1 (01:05:35.97)
Well, going back to what we were talking about to kind of circle back here, now talking about the quarterbacks and obviously runner backs, but the issue now, well, the question I have is why receive a battle? And by battle, mean between Betch and Thornton. Who do you guys think steps up this year? Like one of them has to. One of them has to become that steady guy.
speaker-0 (01:05:51.31)
Be
speaker-1 (01:06:04.335)
Who do you have your money on? Who do you think is going to take that step this season in the second year and become something for this team?
speaker-2 (01:06:13.358)
If we're just talking about those two, would think that Besh is going to have more of an impact than Thornton. think Thornton's still a project on running routes and everything, but it would be nice to see Thornton go deep and catch some long touchdowns. But I think if we're going to pick between the two, I think we're going to see Besh have more of an impact this upcoming season.
speaker-1 (01:06:42.181)
Are you alive for that?
speaker-2 (01:06:45.036)
I know that's Leo's favorite guy too.
speaker-0 (01:06:47.694)
No, I'm laughing at the comments.
speaker-2 (01:06:51.18)
I know, I'm just saying, I know it's your favorite guy.
speaker-0 (01:06:53.422)
No, I'm done. Yeah, I don't know where we found this guy he's making so much sense cuz I was looking to see if Nathan's in the chat cuz if he's in the chat He's gonna record what I
speaker-1 (01:07:03.711)
Get her!
speaker-3 (01:07:04.243)
watch who's in the chat.
speaker-0 (01:07:06.67)
As based off Jeff question, I got to agree with With sac like bro jack besh. He's proven. He can catch the ball. All right. He's a possession wide receiver He I think has more experience with the route running. So if it's between those two Who I think would benefit from a kubiak system I would hopefully say jack besh because maybe he can scheme it up or he finds him in open space Get some more open. Thornton's a project, bro
Speed, size, cool to have, but you still gotta know how to play wide receiver in the NFL. You gotta be able to know how to get open, right? You gotta be able to catch the ball when it touches your hands. That's what I was gonna do was put your thing up well, asking them about your page.
speaker-1 (01:07:51.85)
Yeah, I just put it back in the chat again, so it should be on all channels.
speaker-0 (01:07:55.882)
They asked about Will's page too. Uh-huh. But, yeah, I have to agree with you. If it's those two Jeff, I would, if I had to put money on those two and I'm a gambling man, so I will put money because that's what I do. I'm that dumb ass. I would put it on Besh having a bigger year than Thorin in this Kubiak system. based on the fact that with Kubiak here, maybe he gets more out of, Bowers and Mayor combo, right? So he clicks pressure off of these wide receivers.
We get the running game going, but you get the running game going. Jesus Christ. It'll be so much pressure on the path.
speaker-2 (01:08:30.942)
the
speaker-0 (01:08:37.422)
And if you went to a game, you saw it. How bad the coach was like, my God.
speaker-1 (01:08:43.118)
Yeah. Well, did you put your channel in the shot?
speaker-3 (01:08:46.892)
What? What a mic! No.
speaker-1 (01:08:48.884)
channel in the chat.
speaker-3 (01:08:51.95)
So I'm streaming on the other thing so I can't be.
speaker-0 (01:08:54.892)
got it. got it.
speaker-1 (01:08:57.91)
the
speaker-0 (01:09:06.126)
But somebody threw Nailer's
speaker-3 (01:09:09.896)
Damn it's good like so
speaker-1 (01:09:11.389)
Again, I rephrased it. I'll say it again. I only picked those two because they're second year guys. Nail has been in the league for a while. We already know what he can do. We've seen it. Just like Tucker, we know what he can do. I'm just looking to see these second year guys, who do you think steps up and makes that next step? One's going to rise and the other one's going to fall. There's no choice about it. One's going to make a big leap from last year. So, well.
speaker-3 (01:09:39.987)
I will put it like this. Jack Besh has the most pressure on him to do it because he's a second round traffic and he didn't do a damn thing last year.
speaker-0 (01:09:49.867)
ooooh, lb-10's gonna-
speaker-3 (01:09:51.917)
I'm gonna call it a spade. didn't do a damn thing last year. For being a second round draft pick, he didn't have the impact. So he's gonna feel like he has the most pressure to perform. Thornton came in here as a fourth round pick with limited talent and we knew that he didn't have hands. And he proved exactly that, that he didn't have hands, that he wasn't ready for that big moment. But Jack Besh in this offense could be successful because he's a possession receiver. He doesn't depend on speed.
He depends on route running and the ability to get open in between. So that's why I think Jack Bash will be more successful this year is because of his ability to get open and his ability to run route and make catches, man. That's going to be the biggest difference. I love Thornton's physical abilities, but I just don't think he has the mental ability or not the mental ability, but like, bro, he just has bad hands.
There's a lot of guys that have just fucking bad hands and that's what he got. He's a physical specimen with bad hair.
speaker-1 (01:10:57.016)
So I think we're all in agreement that I think we are because that my take would be betch. Yeah. Out of the two. I mean, I saw more from him last year, obviously, than you saw from Thornton. I mean, just look at the just look at the right ratio of past passes thrown to him and what was caught. know, Betch had 20 thrown to him and he caught 10. Betch had thought had 30 thrown to him. He caught 10. And also, I mean, the ratio is not in Thornton's favor. I mean, granted, yeah.
It was Gino throwing the ball. A lot of them weren't catchable. But how many times did we watch that ball hit him right in the hands and he just couldn't get it? He just could not. taking his eye off the ball. It's a simple thing as that too. Sometimes you just take your eye off the ball for a second because you have footsteps. And that's the problem with some rookies sometimes that are just don't have that confidence. You hear those footsteps right away. You're like, and that's you see it. Another players do the same thing too. You know, they don't catch the ball because.
They know someone's right there and as soon as they do, they turn their head just a slight bit. They lose track of the ball. Ball goes, ball goes wherever at that point.
speaker-2 (01:12:02.412)
And I think they had high hopes for Thornton last year. He was actually doing really well in training camp. then once they had those joint practices, once they had those joint practices, they saw he just disappeared. And then they did the same thing in the games.
speaker-0 (01:12:20.152)
that would to our entire offense once we practice.
speaker-1 (01:12:22.67)
the
speaker-2 (01:12:24.071)
I mean,
speaker-0 (01:12:34.412)
No, I was hyping Gino after that scream.
speaker-0 (01:12:50.166)
The thing that I saw with Lauren in practice is what comes traditionally from Tennessee wide receivers. The play is already set to where the ball's going to. These wide receivers know that. So you don't see them fully running around or fully blocking what they're supposed to if they know the ball or the play's not coming their direction. They take plays off basically. And that's a hard thing for them to get out of. Right. It takes, know, so that was it. If he could have gotten that and
I remember specifically being out of practice and I'm doing it and I'd be like, that's the part I'm talking to you about that part right there. And that's hard to get out of because it's instilled in you as a habit. It's part of you and you all, won't do that in the game. If you do it in practice, more than likely you're gonna do it in the game. Yeah.
speaker-3 (01:13:37.644)
Yeah, you practice the way you play. And so let me ask you this, Cheeto, when you saw that right and you're saying that Tennessee's offense, because you do watch a lot more college football than all of us, is loud now made off of premeditated throws and like saying, hey, no matter what coverage they're in, no matter what they're doing, this is where the ball is going. So let me ask you this, if you're selecting a quarterback out of Tennessee, can they read?
speaker-0 (01:13:39.628)
Yeah.
speaker-3 (01:14:06.744)
Can they read the whole thing? You know, this was the whole thing with Fernando Mendoza, right? Because he reads RPO. People were saying, he can't read the whole field because he does RPO. Which obviously people don't understand. He's actually reading exactly what he's supposed to be doing. He could read the field. He's just doing a certain job. So are you saying that Tennessee guys are prone to being worse at there because of that?
speaker-0 (01:14:32.238)
I think it's a tough spot because it's hard to blame the players specifically because a lot of them that's what's asked of them So when I bring it up in that sense of a Tennessee, that's the system That's how it's run there those dummy cards like Super Mario is the play like he looks at it
speaker-3 (01:14:53.166)
You know, your mic.
speaker-2 (01:15:01.774)
All right while he's doing that I'm gonna say something on this guy's comment right here Kirk Cousins doesn't have a big contract that hundred something five years hundred something million is fake it's just an 11 million dollar contract basically for this year so right there's no big
speaker-0 (01:15:20.695)
And now.
speaker-1 (01:15:21.42)
after the season though.
speaker-3 (01:15:23.286)
Yeah, but they're looking at it.
speaker-1 (01:15:24.867)
Yeah, we need
speaker-2 (01:15:25.358)
I
speaker-3 (01:15:26.958)
That's not guaranteed. The big numbers comes after and if Kirk Cousins takes us to the playoffs, if Kirk Cousins takes us deep into the playoffs, I'm sure everybody will be like,
speaker-0 (01:15:39.95)
You better pick up that two year 80 million. Yeah. Uh huh. No. It's crazy about the Mendoza thing because I mean, cousins, there was a realtor, I think he's in Las Vegas. He used the contract thing to make a video for his business's content. What do you mean? Like, oh, if you are like Kurt Cousins and.
speaker-1 (01:16:01.912)
Barney.
speaker-2 (01:16:02.638)
You
speaker-0 (01:16:06.604)
His agents guarantee you this much money. Five year, hundred and seventy two. Something about houses anyway, the way he was wording it, you get to do was not even a fucking reader. I'm barely a football fan. Right. But he was using that contract to promote his real estate business. I was like, my God. Like, is that the point we're getting to on social media? Right. We just see some shit that's trending and we're going to use it to promote our business. Like, my God.
speaker-3 (01:16:32.884)
If you're in Las Vegas the Raiders are the Raiders the aces, know the best every local team is the biggest thing but This is freaking agent bro Whoever is Kirk Cousins agent that motherfucker is a bad dude, bro. I ain't never seen the dude get so much guaranteed money. I Think he's probably made more guaranteed money than any other player I've ever seen
speaker-0 (01:16:41.324)
The Golden Night Ever is
speaker-0 (01:16:57.474)
Yeah, he's up there as far as not much money he's made with some of the dudes you have like what? Yeah.
speaker-1 (01:17:03.05)
the
speaker-0 (01:17:05.134)
Yeah. Albert, dude, that's like, Josh, that your account. Are you really Albert Sports, bro? Every time you send us some.
speaker-1 (01:17:13.184)
It's Albers,
speaker-0 (01:17:17.1)
But no, just real quick to what you're saying about the thing. It's not so much always the players. It's that's what they're asked to do. Right. And you bring up Mendoza because I know that's the thing with Mendoza. He ran RPO. And then when you look up to what the people have said as far as the ones for him. Yeah, he ran those types, but that's what Signe. He asked. Right. So you got to look at more than just his Indiana film. Go look at his cow film. Right.
You got to look at his cow film in order to see what does he have the arm? Can he make the throws? And I think that's where it goes into the going into do these players do what's asked of them and can they do more? And I think that's where the NFL scouts, analysis have to differentiate. You know, that's what's asked of them. That's what they're doing. But can they do more than just that when asked of? And I think that's the part with Mendoza.
speaker-3 (01:18:31.19)
I think he has something like 500 million dollars in guaranteed contract money
speaker-1 (01:18:35.872)
It's up there. It's a ridiculous amount. I know that.
speaker-0 (01:18:40.46)
think Marco's just put up there that Prescott's the one who's got the most.
That's crazy, bro, because you're talking about two non-Super Bowl winning quarterbacks.
speaker-3 (01:18:50.528)
in one single. is in one. I'm talking in combined like lifetime.
speaker-0 (01:18:55.725)
No.
speaker-2 (01:18:58.059)
the
speaker-3 (01:19:10.318)
300 million or something like that in one con.
speaker-0 (01:19:15.049)
I think cousins is up to like 290 or something like that, right?
speaker-2 (01:19:18.798)
I think it's over 300.
speaker-3 (01:19:21.558)
Yeah, it's over 300 million, bro. And this dude still drives a van from like 1985.
speaker-0 (01:19:28.714)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
speaker-1 (01:19:31.446)
He says, I'm not Albert Sports. He's an X-Raider media outlet. After Raiders moved to Vegas, he covers the Niners now, but didn't stop covering the Raiders.
speaker-0 (01:19:41.226)
One of the media outlets just hired a new guy to cover the Raiders. Who was it? His name's Sam, think is a new writer, but he's going to be covering Raiders now. Yeah, yeah.
speaker-3 (01:19:52.462)
That's facts right there, Trevor. That's a straight up facts that they all ran RPO. So this is this whole thing of that he ran RPO so he can't read a defense is Nolan Voight.
speaker-2 (01:20:06.182)
He did what was asked of him.
speaker-3 (01:20:08.205)
Yep.
speaker-0 (01:20:11.636)
And shout out to run down because run down is the one who's put me more on the kids cow film, you know contrary to popular belief I do watch some film and I don't just play Zelda all day. but Yeah Yeah, rundown is the one that just shared me some of his cow
speaker-3 (01:20:21.775)
EW
speaker-1 (01:20:32.302)
317! 317 mil.
speaker-0 (01:20:35.821)
Yeah.
speaker-1 (01:20:37.582)
So yeah, so was 330 for Kirk Cousins before I deal with them.
Any what a question, who is the greatest breakout player of the season? Who will be the biggest let down?
speaker-0 (01:20:49.518)
So letdown is gonna be the fans.
speaker-3 (01:20:54.894)
So you know what though, Tito? That's where I can agree with you, because there's so many fans out there that no matter what this team does, they're always so fucking negative about everything. And at the end of the day, like when you talk about the experience of going to the game and doing a lot of that, us as fans have a lot to do with that. And sometimes we have such a shitty fucking attitude.
And just should just a shitty way of thinking, bro, because we think that as fans, we can, you know, we did that in high school. I saw that on Madden. You know, this guy should be able to why can't he fucking block that guy?
speaker-1 (01:21:33.326)
You
speaker-0 (01:21:37.11)
This guy's 6'4 runs a 4'3, 40. All we got to do is throw it deep to him.
speaker-3 (01:21:41.902)
Why don't you just throw it deep to him? he catch it, bro.
speaker-0 (01:21:50.2)
Catch rating on Madden's a 79, bro. He's gotta catch it.
speaker-3 (01:21:53.742)
That's why I go and I say, man, if it was that easy, every motherfucker would be doing it. But it's not.
speaker-1 (01:22:00.718)
the
speaker-0 (01:22:05.518)
The only reason I say the fans is not to be a dick or anything, but it's because I can already see it like If he gets in there and he's struggling we're not winning Instantly, it's gonna be to be a bus survives. Jamarco Russ's lives, right? See we shouldn't have picked them Right. We should have traded see we should have took and say someone like I don't know Bane with his short arms is having like an insane season, right? Oh, and you're like damn see we should have took him and
matching him alongside a max and I think that's the part that's gonna be like if you're down for Fernando right now and what this team is doing Then you need to be patient and stay down This upcoming season if we don't win more than seven games Right. Don't start bashing them Kubiak ain't shit. He's another McDaniels
speaker-1 (01:22:55.69)
Okay.
speaker-2 (01:22:56.938)
People are calling Peyton Manning a bust after his rookie year.
speaker-1 (01:23:01.042)
the the
speaker-0 (01:23:19.16)
No expectations!
speaker-1 (01:23:30.542)
that
speaker-0 (01:23:35.563)
Yeah.
speaker-1 (01:24:00.526)
There's a lot of influx of new players in this roster this year that haven't played together, that don't know the coaches. The coaching staff is completely different for the most part. You've got a couple of holdovers, you know, so, but now that Kurt Cousins is here, everybody's like, oh, you know, blah, blah, blah, you know, we could do this, we could do that. And then when it doesn't happen, they got to crash out. Or if it does happen and everybody's going to be happy, but stop setting those expectations so high. Like, oh, we're a playoff team. We're going to win 10 games. Oh my God.
Le fruiton de moi.
speaker-2 (01:24:33.39)
Yeah, if your expectations are playoffs, you're probably going to be disappointed this year. You want this, you want to finish this season and go, man, this team's improved. Another, another, another off season, another draft. And we might, we might actually make a push for the playoffs next year. That's, that's, that's how you want this season to end. I can't, I'm not even putting a number on it of how many wins I just, I just want to see it with my eyes of what this team's going to be by the.
speaker-0 (01:24:50.67)
Exactly
speaker-2 (01:25:01.252)
I want to be happy with what we saw by the end of the season.
speaker-1 (01:25:03.822)
Yeah. And that's what I've saying. I don't care what the win loss total is. I want to see the team come together. I want to see the players mature. You know, the second year guys, these third year guys, I want to see how well they mature from their previous years on this team. You know, anything is going to be better as far as the way they perform on the field than what they did last year because the coaching is going to be so different. Some of these guys are going to be in for a culture shock, especially the rookies, last year's rookies.
Going from that coaching staff to this coaching staff. My God, you talk about night and day.
speaker-0 (01:25:40.042)
Even last year, bro, like the expectations, I didn't think Super Bowl playoff and all that. I just wanted to see them. I hate to say this word now, like compete. That's what I wanted to see. And as many games as I went to last year, the only one where I can say I actually saw that on the field was the Houston one.
Houston one. This is what I've been wanting to see all damn year, bro. Like forget week one against the Patriots, even though I love that, right? But this is what I wanted to see all year long. Was this against a team like Houston?
speaker-1 (01:26:12.142)
the
speaker-0 (01:26:21.73)
Being at the cheese game, we knew what it was. Were we here to say goodbye to each other? Exactly.
speaker-1 (01:26:25.402)
the
speaker-0 (01:26:43.406)
I don't know where this came from y'all like we're just as shocked as y'all
speaker-2 (01:26:50.222)
the
speaker-0 (01:26:58.904)
Fun, right? it was happy to watch that team like that.
speaker-1 (01:26:59.886)
Yeah,
speaker-1 (01:27:04.152)
two things there, right? The Patriots game and Will was there with me in New England and he contested. We won, but it wasn't pretty. We played extremely sloppy that day. And two, the game that Leo saw in Houston was after the game. Well, we got ass-whopped. And it was absolutely hot. There's a team that when they were on that field, they had no hot, no determination. And that's why when I saw what they did in Houston, I'm like, where the hell was this in Philly? Yeah.
speaker-3 (01:27:18.126)
The
speaker-3 (01:27:33.505)
Remember
speaker-1 (01:27:33.87)
nothing in that game. barely moved the ball in Houston. They were all over the goddamn field, defense and offense. Like, where did this come
speaker-0 (01:27:40.694)
I think you were saying that in the parking lot, right? Well, like, as long as we don't see what we saw in Philly, they'll be happy.
speaker-3 (01:27:46.51)
Because we were talking about it that whole week where we were like bro He was like the team came out flat. They didn't have no energy coming out of the locker room We just got our asses. Well, we were like fuck we're gonna fight at Houston and we don't want to see the same thing, but I'm telling you man when we left that I Didn't even feel bad that we lost
Even though like the Houston fans were like, where the fuck has this been all season? I'll like, damn, that's all I want to see. I'm with you fellas, man. I just want to be competitive. I want to be in there. mean, like I want to talk my shit. I want to have some fun. And at the end of the day, you know, I know that we're not going to go to the Super Bowl. I just want to see a better team, man, a better product, something that's going in a positive direction.
speaker-0 (01:28:21.454)
Yeah.
speaker-0 (01:28:42.478)
What I have a question for you when it comes to that direction What do you guys think about the narrative about why people are upset right about us signing cousins? Because we don't want to see cousins next year We're paying money or season ticket sales went up because it's expected you're gonna see Fernando next year All right, or even with like the draft. that's messed up. You guys paid all this money He's not even gonna be this right like What is your feeling? I'm like that narrative like that's why they're mad about the cousins thing
because now they want it and they're paying their money to go see Mendoza. And now you probably won't see him next year, depending on how the season goes.
speaker-2 (01:29:19.864)
team has to do what it's gonna do. Team has to do that. They can't worry about what people are saying. I go to games. buy go to games. I buy tickets. I'm okay with what they're gonna do. I'm not a season ticket holder, but I still spend $17 on a Modelo inside the stadium.
speaker-0 (01:29:38.85)
Right? I think it irritates me and it frustrates me when I hear people say that. Like, I wanted to go see Mendoza next year. Like, bro, like what?
speaker-1 (01:29:51.118)
the
speaker-0 (01:30:19.971)
Have you not heard that Raider fans don't go to a legion,
speaker-1 (01:30:22.894)
the
speaker-0 (01:30:34.156)
Hey, whatever, love.
speaker-2 (01:30:52.162)
They haven't even drafted him yet.
speaker-1 (01:30:54.178)
the
speaker-2 (01:31:05.56)
Does it matter if you're sitting there having your modello and watching a competitive team? it matter if it's cousins or... or Mendoza? You've seen a competitive team or they win a game...
speaker-1 (01:31:14.574)
you
speaker-0 (01:31:19.148)
Hey, all right. I've been at that stadium. I've seen car be the starter. seen Jimmy G be the starter. I O'Connell be the starter. It didn't matter who was I was there with my ultra because I didn't drink the Modelo that day. Sorry.
speaker-1 (01:31:31.214)
the
speaker-0 (01:31:38.744)
to see Jamar.
speaker-2 (01:31:39.926)
in the plenty of of Russell game. Yeah, I was I was at the home opener last year to watch Gino Smith throw a pick in his first pass.
speaker-0 (01:31:47.87)
I was in Oakland the year we had Kyle Bowler and then Carson Palmer came in against Kansas City. Remember his first time? We got our asses with it to us. I was there.
speaker-2 (01:31:58.156)
I was pretty much at all the Oakland games.
speaker-0 (01:32:08.366)
I remember that we had a business get-
speaker-2 (01:32:25.006)
I was at a game where Leo Arregu set the record for punts. And it was nobody, nobody scored a touchdown all damn game. And Wade Wilson drops back to pass and towards the end of the fourth quarter throws back, throws a pass to James Jett touchdown, Raiders win the game, only touchdown of the game. So I mean, I've watched Wade Wilson throw a pass in that Coliseum.
speaker-0 (01:32:31.1)
You guys talk about that.
speaker-0 (01:32:55.694)
Yeah, I guess it just irritated me when I saw comments like that like oh the Raiders need to my money back I am I want to see Mendoza like bro. He hasn't even been I get it 98.9 percent whatever he's the guy we're gonna pick but he still hasn't been drafted y'all like damn
speaker-3 (01:33:14.671)
We said it at the beginning, since when the fuck do organizations that are functional and win championships listen to the fuckers?
speaker-0 (01:33:22.956)
No, yeah, that's true.
speaker-3 (01:33:25.164)
Like, like if we want to win championships, why would why would this team listen to the fans? Like what type of experts are we as fans, right? And then to say, I bought tickets just to go see this player that we haven't drafted.
and then expect him to play because you bought tickets. Who the fuck are you? Like literally bro, like who are you that you think you are that important that because you bought tickets that you should be able to say it's not like that. That's not life. If you're going to buy tickets, you're there to support this team. Right. And Jeff has hit a lot of things on the head, bro. The whole experience about going to the game, watching the game and seeing the team is one part of the whole experience.
speaker-0 (01:33:46.53)
Hmm
speaker-3 (01:34:11.15)
Being there with y'all. Having all those memories that we create that whole weekend at the tailgate at the foot. That's why we fucking go because you're not going to go just for a fucking four hour game and spend a thousand dollars for four hours and then fucking ride right back out. You go. I mean, like, and if you got that type of money and you live that, that's great. But Jeff and I, don't live that close that you're able to ride in for a fucking like weekend, you know.
speaker-1 (01:34:28.686)
I'll be back.
speaker-0 (01:34:29.41)
But yeah.
speaker-3 (01:34:40.374)
If we're there, we're kind of going to be there for a little bit. So it's about the whole experience. That's what you're.
speaker-1 (01:34:45.194)
Let me ask you this, now game day aside from when you were here in New England, how much fun did you have excluding the game, even though we wanted that was great, but let's forget Sunday, the tailgate, the game, how was everything else that you did while you were here? Did you have a good time or was it
speaker-3 (01:35:04.206)
I have like here's the thing both in Houston both every single time every single time that we've traveled I've been super blessed to have a great group of writers fans with me and we have a great time Yeah, but I've been with Cheetah I've been with Steven we've traveled
speaker-0 (01:35:22.286)
Thank
speaker-1 (01:35:22.424)
I'm being
speaker-2 (01:35:23.214)
You notice I brought up Houston, not yours, Jeff?
speaker-3 (01:35:28.014)
right? right?
speaker-1 (01:35:29.646)
the
speaker-2 (01:35:32.224)
Right. Then he was straight to Houston.
speaker-3 (01:35:35.662)
Like everywhere. So when you talk about the experiences, I have a great group of guys, man, that that's what makes it so fucking awesome. I saw you meeting you for the first time, having a fucking cigar, having like sitting at the cigar lounge, just fucking yelling Raiders till fucking 1230 at night, pissing off all the people in Boston. I'm like, it was a great time because we're in a group and we're all having fun.
I go with Cheeto and I meet Cheeto for the first time, you know, I'm like after the world famous Cheeto Linus ditched me in Las Vegas because he was too famous for me. You know, I finally got to break bread with him and sit down at his table.
speaker-2 (01:36:15.47)
will big time you sometime.
speaker-1 (01:36:22.006)
Hmm
speaker-0 (01:36:22.974)
I go to my spot. I can't blow it up. So I'm not allowed to say it. And then from there, I go to the jail and then walk in simple route.
speaker-1 (01:36:32.44)
the only key
speaker-3 (01:36:33.166)
All right. Ballin' Wave.
speaker-1 (01:36:35.214)
It doesn't bother me if he's gonna be there or not The only night that I'm gonna be at the draft and try and get as close to the stage as possible. It's gonna be night one The dog day one but dawns coming with me So will you I've been playing up different things? We're gonna do why we're in the Pittsburgh area, you know, it's a place We need one of us been to Pittsburgh before so we're gonna have a good time. We're gonna be gone for five days
You know, Saturday was spending it as a Hall of Fame. I've never been before. I'm an hour and a half away from it. Why in God's name would I not go? Be crazy not to when you're that close to it. So I'm not going to go to the draft for the day three on the Saturday. We're going to go to the Hall of Fame. You know, so we're having fun. That's the whole plan this that weekend is we're going to go and have a good time. You know, not going to go crazy like I have to be here, have to do this. No, we're just going to just go with the flow. It's the experience again. I mean, yeah.
the
speaker-0 (01:37:50.323)
It was like that with Detroit. There's so many people that go.
speaker-1 (01:37:53.27)
Yeah, well the problem the problem with Pittsburgh is the river snakes right through the middle of Pittsburgh So this bridge is everywhere. So for the traffic issues, they're shutting some of those bridges down He said so because he did a little recon already just driving through the area Trying to figure out like where everything's gonna be so if you look at a aerial map of this the stadium So did the draft stuff's gonna be on both sides?
So on the east side of the stadium is where the stage is gonna be. On the other side is gonna be like the whole NFL experience thing. That's how looks like it's gonna be set up. But yeah, there's bridges all over the place. Parking's not the best in the world.
speaker-0 (01:38:37.11)
When you talk about experience, it just depends on what you do, what you want to do. Right. When I've noticed with Will, Will has an agenda of stuff outside of football that he likes to do in these areas. And that's cool. That's his thing. And it depends why you're going. When I went to Houston, the game was the primary focus, but it was also to meet the people from Texas, if you will. Right. Like me, Mayo in person, meeting Space City.
Space City, eating Space City in Texas, bro. Like, you know, that to me was my goal, was getting to know them. So me and Sean, did nothing but Raider events. You we didn't go anywhere else. I think it just depends on what your expectation or what you think you're going to go to, you know? Even I'm sure with, whenever I get to go to the game with Jeff, it's going to be different. You know, when I go with Steven, I already know it's Bay Area vibes. Bay Area vibes.
from the minute we link up and meet up is just me area vibes with him and his crew.
speaker-3 (01:39:39.5)
You better make sure you have a leash on this dude.
speaker-0 (01:39:41.866)
Like shout out to Carmen, bro, like Carmen, she knows I like to dance. Carmen gets me started. So it's different. Yeah.
How much fun,
speaker-2 (01:40:00.614)
the and
speaker-2 (01:40:20.5)
I'm trying to, I gotta get him to Vegas this year too.
speaker-3 (01:40:25.038)
You know what man what you guys keep saying though what I keep hearing is it's like the people that you're with make the biggest difference when you go to it's the environment that you create for yourselves and again winning is cool like we went into New England and we won and I had a great time I went to Houston and we lost time great time I went to fucking Denver and we lost
speaker-2 (01:40:53.102)
and that's right. Two years ago, Home Opener, when I first met you, and hanging out with you, Marlene and Bova, everybody, the whole crew, I mean, we were together the whole trip. I mean, that made it, after that trip, I said, I'm never missing a Home Opener again. And then Will never came again after that. So we had blast.
speaker-0 (01:40:54.926)
Dino.
speaker-0 (01:41:02.222)
Bye.
speaker-3 (01:41:03.117)
speaker-3 (01:41:23.646)
He's an opener. My bad. I'll be back in action this year. But you know that that year that was so much fun and Stephen I mean like Stephen had so much fun now that he was still feeling good when he got back on that plane to fly back home. And that's like and it's not that we went overboard or anything like that. It was just we were having so much fun man and the environment.
speaker-2 (01:41:40.526)
Sure was.
speaker-1 (01:41:41.099)
you
speaker-3 (01:41:50.382)
I'd be like, and then trying to find his VP because he got lost. mean, was, it's just an experience and it's family, right? Because you, you look at each other and you just laugh about shit. They're like fucking Ben the Hatas, you know, we say in Spanish and they're like, man, you just go down and do some stupid shit together and you build that brotherhood.
speaker-0 (01:42:11.49)
Yeah, there's certain things that my girl has like locked herself into nowadays. Obviously, L.A. is number one, but number two for her now, she doesn't ever want to miss because she got to attend this year as the home opener. Yeah. Yeah. The home opener used to be like me and trying to think. But after this year, no, she. No, she's still there. But my girl wants to go. She's the home opener was so different because we were just, you know, we still all I don't know.
speaker-3 (01:42:30.702)
John, I'm out.
speaker-0 (01:42:40.684)
and that delusion that we were gonna do something or whatever, right? So we all show up, more Raider fans show up than other times throughout the year, yeah.
speaker-0 (01:42:53.411)
Yeah
speaker-0 (01:43:02.638)
You meant Myra, right? Myra was there.
speaker-0 (01:43:10.21)
Marty's another one. Cool as fuck, bro.
Shout out to TMBC.
speaker-1 (01:43:15.15)
You know, I'll get to meet Will, the president for the Philly chapter and his BP Bridge. know, Bridge is coming to the draft, so we'll get to hang with him this weekend, you know, that weekend. So I had a fun time. I tell you what, first time tailgating in a goddamn snowstorm, blizzard, because that was insane that morning. I've done rain, I've done excessive heat and now I've done snow.
speaker-0 (01:43:37.496)
Good time.
speaker-2 (01:43:38.222)
And you know, it's like we want to win of course we hate seeing our team lose but it's about this It's about the brotherhood. said I I still haven't left the game after hanging out with you guys and went man that weekend sucked The weekend was great the game sucked, but the weekend was great because I got to be with my
speaker-3 (01:43:58.504)
And that makes a huge difference, man.
speaker-1 (01:44:03.436)
Well, if everything goes right this year, the Raiders are coming to New York to play the Jets. So Leo's supposed to be coming out for that. So I'll get the meeting for.
speaker-0 (01:44:12.919)
That's the one game that I can only pick one or whatever that's the game I'm gonna have Cuz I've always wanted to go to New York always wanted
speaker-3 (01:44:17.569)
Yeah, me too.
speaker-3 (01:44:23.694)
The only way I don't go to New York is if we play a game in Paris or Mexico City this year.
speaker-1 (01:44:31.419)
you're gonna go there?
speaker-3 (01:44:32.558)
If that game goes international, I'm going international, I can't miss a shot to go to Paris and watch the fucking Raiders.
speaker-2 (01:44:41.23)
It's gonna be hard for me to turn down Mexico City if it lands.
speaker-3 (01:44:44.558)
It's nice to get 32, woo!
speaker-0 (01:44:47.662)
even though I'm sure the Bay Area
speaker-1 (01:44:49.848)
Great.
speaker-3 (01:44:50.03)
with the big sombrero bro you would you would match right in with the sombrero
speaker-1 (01:44:59.37)
Boy this dude they...
speaker-3 (01:45:03.106)
No, I'm not Mexican. I always see all these Mexican guys with the big cowboy.
speaker-0 (01:45:06.818)
Yeah, yeah, we that's all we do in mexicacise worse from brarrows. Well, yes, I know
speaker-3 (01:45:11.064)
Well, you t-
speaker-1 (01:45:11.91)
If it's really enough from the season, I'll still have my portugese tan from the summer, so I'll be good. I won't be milky white walking around down there. I won't stick out like a soft top. Well, I still will because of how big I am.
speaker-2 (01:45:26.572)
Yeah, I was gonna say you're gonna stick out,
speaker-3 (01:45:28.974)
Yeah.
speaker-0 (01:45:33.666)
That would be the same.
speaker-1 (01:45:34.85)
the
speaker-2 (01:45:38.889)
I I will take
speaker-2 (01:45:43.896)
Carmen has a way of getting it out of you, Jeff. So if you're with us, it's happening.
speaker-3 (01:45:48.615)
I will record that.
speaker-0 (01:45:52.14)
Yeah.
speaker-1 (01:45:53.934)
you
speaker-3 (01:45:57.87)
Damn! Why you gotta be like that coach? How am I being a-
speaker-1 (01:46:01.867)
I thought Will was Mexican.
speaker-0 (01:46:04.019)
Nope.
speaker-3 (01:46:07.875)
Nope.
speaker-1 (01:46:08.576)
Akita, gonna see that he'll see you in Paris for sure.
speaker-3 (01:46:12.27)
If that's an opportunity.
speaker-1 (01:46:15.02)
the
speaker-0 (01:46:20.046)
It's funny with the international games because the nation's torn. A lot of them don't want to go to Paris because they want to go to New Orleans. New Orleans is a party for Raider Nation. New Orleans is I'm saying. And then the other half of the Raider Nation is the second game, which is a 49er game. If you play in Mexico City, we're not going to Santa Clara. Yeah, we're not coming home if you will. Right. So it's like.
speaker-3 (01:46:34.798)
I've already been this.
speaker-0 (01:46:50.701)
Yeah.
speaker-2 (01:46:51.97)
Claire sucks anyway.
speaker-0 (01:46:53.77)
It does, it does, but it would be cool to invade their market.
speaker-1 (01:46:57.422)
What's up, Rorschach?
speaker-0 (01:46:58.978)
Yeah. Well, fellas.
speaker-2 (01:47:01.806)
Plus, I still gotta go eat dinner and take shower, so...
speaker-0 (01:47:37.58)
deal with it right there right when you get there yeah
speaker-2 (01:47:40.302)
got one little video on there already. Hopefully next week we will be able to drop our first podcast and look forward to doing it. So bear with us. We're getting our feet wet in this game. I know I come on this show and we'll show and all that, but doing our own thing, it's going to be a little new to us. So bear with us, but we're going to have a little fun. We're going to talk Raiders, but my VP is a funny guy. So we're going to have a little fun and try to.
joke around and do some things on there too.
speaker-0 (01:48:10.99)
yeah.
speaker-0 (01:48:25.319)
Don't give him a hand help him grab from you
speaker-2 (01:48:30.336)
I appreciate all you guys and every single one of you will be a guest on the show at some point.
speaker-3 (01:48:36.332)
Yes.
speaker-1 (01:48:37.56)
forward to it.
speaker-0 (01:48:40.302)
Take care.
speaker-1 (01:48:44.236)
I can't wait to meet Steve in person. I really can't.
speaker-3 (01:48:47.035)
man, he's so much fun.
speaker-0 (01:48:48.59)
Chill dude, bro. Great, amazing family, bro. So cool.
speaker-3 (01:48:53.749)
Solid, Maddie.
speaker-1 (01:48:55.746)
My muscle memory for dancing ain't that good, trust me. So it's not happening.
speaker-0 (01:49:02.624)
Anthony Estrada, what's up, man? How you been, Anthony?
speaker-1 (01:49:07.022)
What's up Anthony, what's going on man?
speaker-0 (01:49:08.332)
I heard you're going to Bakersfield Anthony, so I'll see you in Bakersfield.
speaker-1 (01:49:15.01)
The only other thing, it wasn't really like a draft war room. was more of a, I think we're past everything else we were talking about. I guess my question for you guys is, where do you think the direction is when we go with the second pick?
speaker-3 (01:49:30.862)
BPA, we have so many holes.
speaker-1 (01:49:31.637)
That's available.
speaker-0 (01:49:36.622)
I really hope his best player available. Cause I get it. Like, Oh, you need a TT into three, four. Oh, you still need a solidify the old line. Oh, you need a weapon playmaker for, uh, for Mendoza. need a, that's a lot of needs. So it was hard to focus on one need. If you focus on one need, think that's when you reach. That's why I think our thought process should be best player available, you know, cause no matter who it is, unless it's a kicker, it's a kicker.
I will lose my shit, Jeff.
speaker-3 (01:50:10.786)
No way it's gonna be a kicker bro at 30.
speaker-0 (01:50:12.884)
The tunnel out of Hawaii in the second round. I am going to lose my shit, y'all.
speaker-1 (01:50:18.158)
that
speaker-3 (01:50:25.71)
Then if that's BPA, then you take them.
speaker-0 (01:50:43.668)
You still need a secondary but yeah.
speaker-1 (01:50:45.996)
You do, but again, this takes a lot of pressure off the secondary if you build that that front line up too. So if you get that defensive, so shade McDonald's available and Cooper's still, I'm just throwing a name out there. it's Cooper. All right.
speaker-0 (01:51:01.198)
Another one. someone like Boston.
speaker-1 (01:51:04.79)
Okay, so Boston's there. What do you do at that point? Because they're both, think, in my opinion, I think they're both equal as far as BPA, and they're both a need. What do you do?
speaker-0 (01:51:17.848)
Depends on what the Raiders have been graded at overall.
speaker-0 (01:51:25.164)
Yeah, so to me, I would say Boston. Nope. Boston. Give me Boston.
speaker-3 (01:51:31.968)
If that's what Cheetos big board looks like, I mean, again, I don't know all these college players very well. I'm not going to say that I've done all my homework to like even form up a board to that effect. But for me, what it's going to go to is saying, Hey, EPA, who's higher? Who's rated higher? We have so many holes that we could literally just select my highest player rated on the board and it's going to be a fit in.
So that's what I do, Jeff. And honestly, I'm like, bro, we have so many fucking holes. Like, it doesn't matter.
speaker-0 (01:52:09.998)
I wouldn't be mad with either one of those two. Yeah.
speaker-3 (01:52:12.558)
Drafting receiver, drafting lineman, drafting defensive tackle. If you draft another corner, if you draft a safety, I ain't mad at you. You're filling a need. And if that's the guy that's rated higher on your board, that's the way you go.
speaker-1 (01:52:29.624)
Fair enough.
speaker-0 (01:52:30.678)
I think the one a lot of people would question, though, I wouldn't, though, because I think you need a lot of them if you're going to run a three fours linebacker. Right. Say one of these higher rated linebackers, first round ones, not Jacob. I like Jacob Rodriguez. But say one of these first round linebackers falls to the second round and we take them. Do people get upset and go, why do you need a longer linebacker? Right. But given this guy's grade was higher and he happens to be one of the better players available, I wouldn't be mad to take.
speaker-3 (01:53:01.856)
You just said a key thing and also Cheeto, we just signed a linebacker that's coming off of an injury. We don't know what level we're to come to play at. So for a guy to come in, and I don't even give a shit if it's Jacob Rodriguez, if he's rated that high on your board, that 36, he's the highest player to rank. You take them. Because you're absolutely correct. Bro, you could take a linebacker because we need depth.
speaker-0 (01:53:28.418)
See, and even that, like as much as I like Jacob Rodriguez, I don't have him graded that high at 36. You know what I mean? Yeah.
speaker-3 (01:53:34.818)
Yeah, no, I get what you're saying and that's where I say, hey, it depends on where you guys have them graded at and where your big board is at because you know everybody has a different.
speaker-1 (01:53:46.828)
I will say in reference to this about Charles Grant, I would say whatever expectations you have for offensive linemen for where they're going to be this year based on what happened last year, throw it out the window. Throw everything out the window and wait until, huh?
speaker-0 (01:54:03.618)
No, no, I'm saying what's up to Joe.
speaker-1 (01:54:05.826)
Throw it out the window and wait until these current coaches evaluate and decide who's the best fit for where who's working on what position because Grant might have been the best right tackle last year possibly who knows but The only the only guys that have solidified their position in my opinion is Colt Miller left guy left tackle JPJ whether he's on the left or right side and lender bomb So if JPJ plays the left side, then we got to worry about right guard right tackle
you know, who's going to be there? Is it going to be Grant? Is it to be Rodgers? Is it going to be Buford or whatever the hell his name is? Is it going be somebody who needs draft? There's no talent at this point. So I wouldn't, I wouldn't hold anything as far as a depth chart you see right now as that's just on paper based on who's on the roster. That's it. Right. Right. Right. So until they evaluate these guys, um, I'm good.
speaker-0 (01:55:00.878)
Shout out to my boy, Joe Morley. What's going on, big dog? I'll take three linebackers in the draft. If they're best player.
speaker-3 (01:55:07.148)
Hahaha!
speaker-1 (01:55:08.972)
Hey, how are you?
speaker-0 (01:55:09.644)
Got Jermolies IG. He started a comedy thing now. Shout out to him, bro. That's not easy. Having the guts to go up in front of these people, man, is not. So shout out to Big Joe. I appreciate you, brother.
speaker-3 (01:55:12.878)
I saw that.
speaker-3 (01:55:20.62)
Yo bro
speaker-1 (01:55:24.628)
And I agree with the BPA to be honest with you, but you're just in a you depending on who's there at the time. I mean you
I mean, every year there's a player that falls. Some teams just fall off of a player and they don't like them for whatever reason. you know, the play could just fall on your lap. You know, I mean, look what happened with Brock Biles. We weren't expected to get him. It would have been top five if not even higher. You know, and that's insane for a tight end if you think about it. When was the last time you saw a tight end go in the top five?
speaker-0 (01:55:50.612)
He was not supposed to be there at their
speaker-0 (01:56:00.726)
Yeah, I know.
speaker-1 (01:56:01.954)
Right now, that's just how talented he was, but that's also how many teams need a quarterback said it pushed him.
speaker-0 (01:56:07.798)
That was that quarterback heavy draft that was five before him. Six quarterbacks, Caleb, JD. JJ McCarthy, right? And Nicks and Penics. Yeah, six, six quarterbacks. That's crazy.
speaker-1 (01:56:12.888)
Six.
speaker-1 (01:56:16.984)
Yeah.
Yeah.
speaker-1 (01:56:26.232)
the
speaker-0 (01:56:30.702)
Jouel went in there.
speaker-1 (01:56:34.242)
So I mean, this draft is still gonna be interesting. It's gonna be curious to see who falls into the second round, who's there, what we pick. And then if we stay at 36, well, because I know he's put it out there, Spitex said he wants more picks. Does he move back to gain more? What does he do?
speaker-0 (01:56:53.006)
Man, if he moves back a couple of spots from 36 to like, I don't know, 39, 40 and adds an additional third or whatever, like I would be so happy with that. I would not be mad at that. Yeah.
speaker-0 (01:57:22.22)
Yeah, think I'm here on this one right
speaker-1 (01:57:25.454)
So
speaker-0 (01:57:26.762)
No kicker punter running back or tight end. Anything else? I'm not mad out of the second round. I think I think that's a fair assumption. As long as I don't see any of those positions, then I would be OK.
speaker-3 (01:57:30.922)
Any
speaker-1 (01:57:43.438)
What the fuck was I gonna say?
speaker-1 (01:57:50.37)
the
speaker-0 (01:58:02.594)
PFF
speaker-1 (01:58:20.194)
that breaks that down to you know if you're ahead of the game on the trade and shit. It's actually pretty cool the way they break it down now.
speaker-0 (01:58:27.31)
I just got a picture of Mendoza in Vegas having dinner. I did. They sent it to me.
speaker-3 (01:58:33.62)
That's what happens when you're the world famous cheeto line is you got insiders like that?
speaker-1 (01:58:39.832)
Joseph says we need a kick because Oz is gay.
speaker-0 (01:58:46.234)
Samoa Raider posted it. Okay. people are gonna have a field day with that kicker. my lord. my lord
speaker-1 (01:58:58.562)
I would be shocked if Ichino falls that far. If he does, that would be against that. He's not beyond his short yet. Not at all.
speaker-0 (01:59:08.46)
I think that's I'm so excited to watch the draft is I know we're going number one, whatever we do right. And then to see where these dudes start getting taken to see who starts falling. know, my biggest fear of Jeremiah love becoming a chief. I don't have to worry about that no more. They signed a they signed the running back from the Seahawks. Right. So I can relax on that. Yeah. Yeah. But now my other fear is that they get someone like Makai Lemon like, fuck, yeah, that's all.
So my home's needs is another weapon. Yeah.

speaker-1 (02:06:15.906)
and
speaker-0 (02:06:20.771)

speaker-0 (02:06:25.086)
Yeah, I mean
speaker-1 (02:06:25.928)

speaker-0 (02:06:29.378)
Yeah, the teams that I hate are Denver, Kansas City and Buffalo. Yeah, those are the teams that I Red down. my boy, the Raider run down in the house.

speaker-1 (02:07:02.026)
I can't wait till we get a group picture of all of us together.
speaker-3 (02:07:05.403)
man.
speaker-0 (02:07:05.774)
Oh my gosh. You're going to get to meet my other crew in Pittsburgh. So they're a rowdy bunch.
speaker-1 (02:07:16.008)
You're gonna Anthony's coming out to predator. So he's gonna be there
speaker-0 (02:07:21.164)
No, but you're going to meet the syndicate. You're going to meet Chris. You're to meet 805.
speaker-1 (02:07:24.756)
I'm excited. I like I sent them. I sent all three of them an Instagram message the other night with my phone number. I said, it's my cell phone, you know, so that way there it's easier for us to communicate once we're in Pittsburgh. And I said, you know, just hit me up and then we can plan a meetup somewhere. So I know 805 will be in early on Wednesday. We should probably be real close to Pittsburgh by the time he his plane lands.
But I know he's, we've already talked, we're probably gonna go to that Mike's Bear Bar, which is right across the street from the stadium. They're like a big pregame, pre-draft event party.
speaker-0 (02:08:07.603)
Did I read your message right bro? You said party right now? They expect a thousand people?
speaker-1 (02:08:14.03)
that's for the one in Vegas.
speaker-0 (02:08:17.014)
Is that a thousand at the one downstairs or a thousand upstairs?
speaker-1 (02:08:20.062)
don't know. don't know. But he did say to make sure you get there early, get there so when the door is open you get in because you're to have a hard time getting in after that. Because the draft body.
speaker-3 (02:08:34.286)
Are you kidding me, bro? He just said-
speaker-1 (02:08:36.526)
The Raiders organization they're holding their draft
speaker-0 (02:08:42.53)
Yeah, I know. That's the one I went to last year.
speaker-1 (02:08:44.556)
Yeah, and then the black hole one's gonna be on the second floor and anybody that does go to it I guess at some point the rate of the rate of players or whoever's there they end up just coming up stairs. Yeah So I guess yep, your boy's gonna be there Leo that was brought up tonight in the meeting
speaker-0 (02:09:04.174)
Well, boy.
boy.
speaker-1 (02:09:09.582)
Who's your favorite player?
speaker-0 (02:09:12.066)
My favorite player, Tim Brown. He's gonna be there. nice. Yeah. Yeah, I couldn't. I wanted to go to Vegas. I was gonna go. But after Sergio invited me, know, family, Chanel invited me to come to the show. I had.
speaker-1 (02:09:14.318)
Yep.
speaker-1 (02:09:28.654)
Leo's gonna miss his main crush again.
speaker-3 (02:09:34.382)
man.
speaker-1 (02:09:34.712)
the
But we're going to do a big board for the top 36 picks. So we're going to go with our first pick to the number 36. And what we're doing basically is we're going to rate the players where we in the chat think they should be. All right. Not going to just go by who, you know, Daniel, Jeremiah, whatever. We're going to have our own takes on stuff and everything. So we're going to build the board live on adding the names as we go. Then Friday night, I'll be on with the no huddle.
All 32, all four fan bases for all 32 teams are more than welcome. That's the whole point of that show is it's open for NFL fans, not just Raider fans. And Saturday night, Raider Nation voices with myself and Jason Downs, where we just open up the phone lines and we talk Raider football all night long. And I do that on Friday nights too. I do take phone calls. So I don't know what we're doing tomorrow night yet. I'm thinking maybe a mock draft.
speaker-3 (02:11:01.782)
man.
speaker-0 (02:11:03.021)
Yay.
speaker-1 (02:11:04.152)
We haven't done one yet. mean, we're two weeks away from the draft. I mean, might as well.
speaker-3 (02:11:05.228)
Ha ha ha,
speaker-1 (02:11:14.094)
What do you think?
speaker-0 (02:11:16.056)
What did you say earlier? Give it a hand and help them grow?
speaker-3 (02:11:17.582)
you
speaker-1 (02:11:24.59)
There.
speaker-0 (02:11:25.162)
I love my draft, but hey, whatever, I'm down.
speaker-1 (02:11:30.222)
He said we overpaid for Tyler Linder.
Yeah, even if you're getting yelled at or something, a lot of yelling. Yeah, big luck. It'll be it'll be good. I spent a lot of time busing ass putting that board together. God damn it. It was supposed to do this two weeks ago.
speaker-3 (02:11:36.494)
Yeah, that's why I was so...
speaker-1 (02:11:48.686)
Two weeks ago was...
speaker-0 (02:11:52.034)
No, but last week I came on and we were supposed to do it. Why didn't we do it?
speaker-1 (02:11:55.871)
speaker-3 (02:11:57.698)
Imagine JSEC.
speaker-0 (02:11:59.628)
No, no, but I went on their show and we were gonna.
speaker-1 (02:12:02.566)
It was going to be a backup. What we did was we broke down the Kurt Cousins
speaker-1 (02:12:11.768)
We broke down his contract because everybody was all over the fucking place.
speaker-0 (02:12:14.69)
Yeah, we got into it about how fans were disappointed. That means Mendoza.
speaker-1 (02:12:20.578)
Yeah. Yeah, so we were supposed to do that. That was going to be if we got to everything on time, we were going to do the big board. it just.
speaker-0 (02:12:29.314)
Because I have my list of top 20 players waiting.
speaker-3 (02:12:33.048)
you
speaker-1 (02:12:33.768)
the
speaker-0 (02:12:34.67)
I'll see if I can because I got to work but I'll look
speaker-1 (02:12:40.11)
That's fine. I mean, we already scheduled to have you on with the big boy, but then the Kirk Cousins thing broke. That's what it was. Kirk Cousins signed on. That's what it was. we agreed with him. Yeah, Cheeto loves the Montraves.
speaker-0 (02:12:48.024)
Cause they find.
speaker-0 (02:12:51.937)
sup
speaker-0 (02:12:55.894)
Love them. Love them.
speaker-1 (02:12:59.214)
well, I got nothing else. So been a fun show tonight. Hopefully everybody's over the whole playbook, not playbook, hide by the Raiders, not hired by the Raiders and the ramifications if it does come out. But that is the case that the Raiders are somewhat involved. We prepared to lose some draft bits.
speaker-0 (02:13:19.828)
Was that like you saw that on like a show or something people were just saying about how Mendoza had
speaker-1 (02:13:24.066)
I've seen it in the chats, I've seen shorts. Yeah. I've seen things on IG, I've seen it everywhere where people think that he's got the playbook and blah, blah.
speaker-3 (02:13:27.118)
I've seen the same thing
speaker-0 (02:13:36.12)
We definitely.
speaker-3 (02:13:36.558)
I'm just forwarding you some of this stuff. I just do a bad job of forwarding everything I see.
speaker-1 (02:13:42.05)
Like I said, if everybody would just sit back and just take a deep breath and look at it again and look at it with the fact that with everything that we've done so intelligently, why would we fuck the one biggest thing that we could possibly screw up? Why would we do that now as an organization? Why would we put everything in jeopardy for what we just built?
speaker-0 (02:14:06.369)
Right.
speaker-1 (02:14:07.778)
That's what makes no sense. That's I don't get it. You know how much the NFL.
speaker-3 (02:14:11.693)
I agree.
speaker-0 (02:14:13.474)
The team ever announced like, we're taking this dude before the draft.
speaker-3 (02:14:18.978)
Yeah, Ricky, will you?
speaker-0 (02:14:23.288)
Well, they did the trade. How many days before the draft did they do that trade?
speaker-1 (02:14:27.73)
I don't remember. All I know is he basically wrote the ticket, sent it in for him, and that was it. The Saints closed their doors and went home for the rest of the draft.
speaker-0 (02:14:37.846)
Because they traded away their whole draft.
speaker-1 (02:14:40.01)
of it.
speaker-3 (02:14:40.334)
For Ricky Williams, bro. He literally wore a freaking wig.
speaker-0 (02:14:46.318)
I know Peyton Peyton wasn't because it was either paint or leaf Caleb was the same way it was either. Yeah, you didn't know
speaker-0 (02:14:58.561)
Andrew Luck maybe?
speaker-3 (02:15:00.652)
We just said it. Ricky Williams says, bro.
speaker-0 (02:15:03.384)
How about a quarterback? I'll blatantly said like we're taking this guy
speaker-3 (02:15:09.036)
No, I don't know.
speaker-0 (02:15:11.694)
That's a new idea for an AI video. No, my account was not hacked. I made that video.
speaker-0 (02:15:23.405)
very
speaker-1 (02:15:24.824)
I got nothing else.
speaker-3 (02:15:27.586)
We out.
speaker-1 (02:15:29.24)
Got a dollar nine eight nine super chat. Biggest thing was giving up Gruden Super Bowl 37.
speaker-0 (02:15:34.86)
bro that changed the trajectory of the Raiders like you have no
speaker-3 (02:15:38.371)
Yep.
speaker-1 (02:15:40.536)
and most certainly did. That's part of that what if scenario we did a few weeks ago. What if Gruden was never, actually it was the what if the tuck will never happen. How things would have changed.
speaker-0 (02:15:55.662)
Well, there was still a championship game
speaker-1 (02:15:57.282)
Jason for the download and super chat. you my brother. Hope keeping the lights on I appreciate it
speaker-3 (02:16:03.15)

speaker-0 (02:16:03.246)
I'll keep the lights on.
speaker-1 (02:16:11.074)
Well, those fake hundred dollar, million dollar bills. Yeah.
speaker-0 (02:16:14.539)

speaker-3 (02:16:17.166)
Big time money right there, watch out.
speaker-0 (02:16:23.726)
There's a magnet to mount my phone, but there's a dollar bill underneath and I write a thousand on it.
speaker-3 (02:16:29.62)
Mmm.
speaker-0 (02:16:30.638)
It's the whole manifestation thing, right?
speaker-3 (02:16:33.813)
I got you, I got you.
speaker-1 (02:16:37.198)
You ain't got me, because I don't got it.
speaker-0 (02:16:40.397)
Kind of you put it out to the universe. If you put it out there, I have $1,000 and that thousand dollars.
speaker-1 (02:16:47.319)
So superstitious.
speaker-0 (02:16:48.908)
