In this deeply personal and universally relatable conversation, I, your host, The Aquarian Chancellor, sit down with Ronnie Izon, Nigerian-born, but American-grown mother of three adult children, author, motivational speaker, and founder of The Third Act Society, an organization dedicated to helping women navigate the profound transition of midlife and the empty nest. Ronnie's story is one of an identity crisis, which turned out to be just what was needed for a purposeful reinvention.
Educated in a British-based boarding school in Nigeria, there, Ronnie learned the value of education and that you are launched into the world to do something good. Ronnie came to America for college, settled down, married, and raised three children with the same values of education and excellence. But when all three children left for college, Ronnie found herself facing a question she wasn't prepared to answer: "What's next?" and more importantly, "What about me?"
Left grieving and struggling with her identity after decades of being "Mom," Ronnie began to embark on a journey of rediscovering herself. From that grief came her powerful book, "Slipping Through My Fingers: What Every Mother Feels. What Every Daughter Will One Day Understand," and ultimately, a thriving coaching practice helping women in their Third Act find new meaning in the years ahead.
